[Q] Possible? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Is it possible to Install any Android build on the HD2 without SD card?
just like a ROM ?
POSSIBLE or IMPOSSIBLE ?

BUMP
BUMPppPPpPpp

Not yet possible... check back later

You have to be patient and always read the first few threads (Sticky or not)... this is not a Q/A forum... try to read through
Anyways, for your question the answer is "for now" all builds run through SD Card until the devs start including nand (internal storage) support in the kernel (not anytime soon)

No, currently it only runs from sd card. You could've gotten your answer a lot quicker by doing a little bit of searching and reading rather than starting a new thread.

No idea why nobody is answering?
Just use the search button or look some older threads.

sowie~ and thx for the answers

!!!!Urgent - New Sub-Forum for NAND Roms - Urgent!!!! Read This Mods and Admins!!!!

Hi,
Now that NAND is released, i think it is really urgent to add a new sub-forum for NAND Only Android Builds, cuz it is very confusing now, it will be a total chaos with Super Ram Builds, SD Card Builds and NAND Builds all in the same sub-forum...
greetz MakaveliTha
Agree, it will get so messy!
Agreed here as well. I don't like the cluttered mess of roms.
Yes! Mod pls check it, maybe a Subforum called other Android builds where RAM and NAND builds can be placed in like
[RAM]Android 2.3 ...
[NAND]Android 2.4...
Better sooner than later, or some poor mod has to go through all the roms and move them individually if they begin to stack up.
Past experience being a vbulletin mod lol
not to sound stupid or dumb but what exactly is a NAND Rom and what does it do ? I am still fairly new at this so please be easy with me.

NAND roms are android roms which you install onto the phones internal memory making it a primary android device. Windows mobile is completly removed.
SD Roms are android builds which run of the SD card. Windows mobile is required to boot it. Battery life is quite low as the sd card is always being accsessed.
SUPER RAM roms are similer to the SD roms but instead of running from the SD card it copies the android files to the phones ram memory. This does not kill your battery.
With the Super ram and SD builds, you can return back to windows mobile after a reset.
I'm extremely confused as to how anyone could find this confusing.
No need for more subforums.
Also, search before creating a new thread. This one adds nothing that hasn't been already said in similar threads that were posted in the last few days. Having many different threads on the exact same subject makes information difficult to find.
I think almost the same needs to be done for Themes and Apps
[Winmo] Themes and Apps
[Android] Themes and Apps
?
There is already a thread in HD2 Android General Discussion discussing this exact same idea. It has a poll and is being monitored by the Moderation/Administration team.
There is no need for a 2nd thread discussion the same thing.
Thread closed.

[Q] Rom version for NAND flashing

Dear XDA-dev's & Users
Since a few days i have a HTC HD2
and i'm looking to flash it towards an Android Gingerbread.
i have done some flashing before on my nokia N97, and dont fear 'difficult' manuals.
As of reading some fora i'm willing to flash the NAND instead of a SD-rom (wich i think to be slower). no way i'm going back to WM6.5
however that's also where my 'ignorance' kicks in:
i'm severly suspecting that an SD-rom cant be used as a NAND-rom
is this true?
What is the difference between a ZIP-ROm and a NAND-rom/SD-rom?
The os i found most interesting doesnt list a rom, how do i know if its suited to be used as a NAND rom (i've read some using a partition on the sd card so i'm afraid its an SDrom
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1062881
and a final (probably expert obvious) question:
whats the exact benefit/ function of Clockwork/MAGLDR? (somethimes its even viewed as a mod instead of a program as stated in manuals)

Hi,
You are right in that you cannot use an sd-rom as a nand rom.
My suggestion is to start reading up on the subjects you need to start installing roms.
Please start reading here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
Read also in my sig, guide number 2.
Finally, here is a list of current roms to choose from:
http://android.hd2roms.com/
The more you read, the more you will learn, the fewer mistakes you will make
Thanks
Thanks dude, I was also looking for similar information.

How to dual-boot android + wp7?

Could somebody give me some links which clearly tell me how to:
Prepare my phone for dual booting android and wp7.
How to install/flash radios,roms etc?
And any other details which could help me in installing a rom e.g. what's a NAND rom?
I have a 4gb sd and a 2gb sd to use.
Ever thought of using search button or google?

All you questions are already answered if you would take a moment to actually look. Please use some common sense which should tell you that these questions will have already been asked and answered.
I did google it ; came up with this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913815 - it had alot of words/phrases I didn't understand and yes i presume they had been answered and so I asked for links rather than an explanation.
NAND is the flash able memory of a device, commonly referred to as internal memory. A ROM is the operating system (OS) software for devices, to put it simply.
At the TheATHEiST, I liked the link man that was cool. I am going to have to find out how to do that lol
Back on topic the link TheATHEiST give you should have you good to go.
To set up a link like the atheist did visit http://lmgtfy.com/ and just enter w.e you want to google for someone. If you mean the thread link - I can visit it - something called open ds pops up with a search bar etc

So you did google your question and ended up with the answer you want but you can't be arsed reading it? lolwut?
If you don't understand English then it would be no use to ask in English, you better look up your question an Arabic forum or a forum in your own language.
I meant the technical phrases such as magldr - I am very fluent in english - I was born and raised in England.
Nabeel-Nabs did you check the sticky FAQ in this forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914924
It has explanations of terms used here.
TheATHEiST that was funny! well done
@Robbie P, yep I found that but I needed help starting from scratch, ended up using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971478&highlight=guide

You Can Contact Me On Skype At corbo987corbin or message me on here
1. Please search before posting
2. Please use decent grammar, one long sentence is actually rather difficult to read
You expect us to read your post yet you quite clearly haven't read anything at all before posting this question. If you had searched in any way (your question is essentially 'how do I flash NAND Android?' you would have found tonnes of threads asking the exact same thing and numerous guides. I've found this to be the best guide.
This post is wrong in so many ways:
1- Your title is not descriptive.
2- You didn't search before making your post.
3- Your grammar makes reading your post very hard, and you are using incorrect terms. (wtf is tand? sp?) .. I know you mean sd & nand, but you should care for your readers.
4- You want us, to contact you, on Skype, and guide you through the installation? haha, sure, we will .
^Fix these and I am sure you won't even need our help. (considering you've done #2)

Check this thread to use the latest version of android from wm6.5.
Since the advent of NativeSD, SD android builds have not been updated as frequently as before due to the increased performance NativeSD provides.
Edit; Even though original SD development has slowed recently, this is still a development forum. You should have posted this in the Q&A section, perhaps the mods would be so kind as to move it there.
