Could somebody give me some links which clearly tell me how to:
Prepare my phone for dual booting android and wp7.
How to install/flash radios,roms etc?
And any other details which could help me in installing a rom e.g. what's a NAND rom?
I have a 4gb sd and a 2gb sd to use.
Ever thought of using search button or google?

All you questions are already answered if you would take a moment to actually look. Please use some common sense which should tell you that these questions will have already been asked and answered.
I did google it ; came up with this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913815 - it had alot of words/phrases I didn't understand and yes i presume they had been answered and so I asked for links rather than an explanation.
NAND is the flash able memory of a device, commonly referred to as internal memory. A ROM is the operating system (OS) software for devices, to put it simply.
At the TheATHEiST, I liked the link man that was cool. I am going to have to find out how to do that lol
Back on topic the link TheATHEiST give you should have you good to go.
To set up a link like the atheist did visit http://lmgtfy.com/ and just enter w.e you want to google for someone. If you mean the thread link - I can visit it - something called open ds pops up with a search bar etc

So you did google your question and ended up with the answer you want but you can't be arsed reading it? lolwut?
If you don't understand English then it would be no use to ask in English, you better look up your question an Arabic forum or a forum in your own language.
I meant the technical phrases such as magldr - I am very fluent in english - I was born and raised in England.
Nabeel-Nabs did you check the sticky FAQ in this forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914924
It has explanations of terms used here.
TheATHEiST that was funny! well done
@Robbie P, yep I found that but I needed help starting from scratch, ended up using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971478&highlight=guide

hello all,
so after several attemps to unbrick my Dopod 858 with no luck, my only oppertunity now would be to create a gold card. The thing that gets me is you cant do this unless you have a working WM....! If I did then I guess I would not need to unbrick my dopod and use that instead!!! I would really appreciate if anyone has a solution for me on how to create a gold card without a working WM. If not anyone in Germany near Hamburg who can help
I originally updated my Dopod through links on this website(Juststable v2), I followed all the instructions correctly and everything worked fine until my battery died !
Now only 4 colour screen ispl/spl 1.09.0001.
Anybody actuall thrown a dopod? if so how far?
Did you try to charge batt again to full and begin again the process ?
Then, try again to flash from SD card, it usually works.
1. Do not use HardSPL on the lower SPL's.
2. This is not the correct place to post this. This is the Development forum. This is not a development post. Moved.
3. There is another way. It requires Linux. Search for "Dream Goldcard". Just make sure you make a Herald goldcard when following the instructions.
Is this getting personal ?!!
I am trying for help but the second time my post is in the wrong place!!
if i read the heading correctly, the forum i originally posted is"Herald ROM development " with the sub info"This forum is only meant fro ROM issues and ROM development".
Therfore I guess I have a problem with installing my ROM hence I posted it there.
Moderators may be there to help and I fully understand that "old" members may rip out hairs finding things.
But ultimately we are all here to help each other, so Ivanmmj do please explain what my WM issue is or extend your forum explanations. it's not rocket science.
Thankyou

Don't take it the wrong way, it is not personal. The sub is a little misleading. It's meant to be to report issues within their particular ROM threads, not creating separate threads. I'm fully aware that we need an overhaul of the titles and descriptions. I'm working on that. (It's not something that Mods can change.) As it stands, the reason why it's so hard to search for answers is because no one ever posted things in the correct place, making it very hard to search in a particular area.
As far as you feeling that I didn't help you, I did help you. And when that didn't work, I told you what to search to make it work. The only other kind of help I could give you is to search FOR you. No one is going to have the links already ready to paste into this thread. Ultimately, the way a lot of questions get answered is by someone else doing the searching and answering the original poster.
Note: The main thread in XDA that showed you how to hardSPL warned you against using it on a phone that had an SPL lower than 4.0. Unfortunately, many of the threads that have appeared after (usually created by someone asking for directions) does not include this warning.
Thankyou
hello Ivanmmj,
thankyou for your response, its good to see we can all talk at the same level, I appreciate your honesty.
FYI I never doubted your help in any way or form. just a little frustrated with the thread movements, I am sure you can understand I have been trying for a solution quite a while now.
best regards

To have the latest and greatest, or one that fits your needs better then what your service provider thinks your needs are.

No worries man, welcome to the community Chances are however you may end up with a few 'Just search!!' answers but I understand there is almost too much info to understand out there but do check out the sticky threads at the top of the HD2 rom development forum as there is a wealth of detail there.
In answer to your question: 'why would anyone want to mod the rom or mess with it? please kindly answer it.'
There are many reasons for doing this, I assume that you come from the 'HTC probably know whats best for their phone as they made it' point of view, this is not always the case.
Let's take a real simple example: There is a limited ammount of space in internal memory and the more you can get the better and some of this space is taken up by pre-installed applications and images that you may never use and some of these can't be removed simply by deleting.
This is where 'cooking' roms comes in: In order to remove those apps you have to create a new OS image (rom) without them in (this is cooking, which is generally performed by experienced people who will publish their roms in the roms forum) and then to be able to get that on your device you need to 'flash' the cooked rom (OS image) onto your device (think of flashing as installing the OS like you would windows from CD on a PC) , and viola you have a new rom on your phone which leaves you more space in internal memory to use for yourself.
There are obviously far more complex reasons for cooking roms (speed improvements, fixes, mods and changes to the UI) but in order to keep this short and simple I've used the above example. If you want to know more check the noob tutorials in the rom forum.
Be careful however, and ensure you read all the information you can search for / find in there as there are some potential pitfalls if you don't do it properly.
Thanks prime! I got it now :]
Im having a hard time finding the correct android link to install to my hd2..which one do i install and in which forum do i get it from??

So what do i do now..im stuck is dis the link?bcuz when i click on it it doesnt give me details..plz help me
Basically, there are dozens of active Android builds to choose from. Most importantly, choose NAND (replacing WM) or SD (typically bootstrapped from WM). Next, choose either AOSP (based on Google sources), CM7 (a popular mod) or HTC Sense.
I use Hyperdroid GBX on NAND.
Do lots of reading. We've all done it.
i just tried that but i believe i might have did soething wrong is there anyway you can give me a call to walk me thru the steps on NAND HYPERDROID GBX..PLZ...267 912 1619
please search and read all stickies. everything is written out so that even those who do not speak english can effectively install android with little to no issues.
no-one is going to call you up, hold your hand and walk you through it, there are guides all over the place. and if you can not read and learn for yourself, then you are better off with an iphone. sorry, 'if u cnt do dis u need ifon'
seriously, learn and read. as stated in previous posts, we all had to read and learn amazing guides created by others. thats already easy enough.
Ok I an very new to modding the HTC HD2 But ive had the droid x and droid a855 nd there both running liquid and fully "moded out" but heres my question i have an HTC HD2 that is running DFT Sense Android tand i want to flash custom roms to that i alredy have MAGDLR or watever and i have Clockword mod bootable on my sd I was wondering if i can run ics stable on it or mabey ics then wp7 off my sp please help me thanks
You Can Contact Me On Skype At corbo987corbin or message me on here
1. Please search before posting
2. Please use decent grammar, one long sentence is actually rather difficult to read
You expect us to read your post yet you quite clearly haven't read anything at all before posting this question. If you had searched in any way (your question is essentially 'how do I flash NAND Android?' you would have found tonnes of threads asking the exact same thing and numerous guides. I've found this to be the best guide.
This post is wrong in so many ways:
1- Your title is not descriptive.
2- You didn't search before making your post.
3- Your grammar makes reading your post very hard, and you are using incorrect terms. (wtf is tand? sp?) .. I know you mean sd & nand, but you should care for your readers.
4- You want us, to contact you, on Skype, and guide you through the installation? haha, sure, we will .
^Fix these and I am sure you won't even need our help. (considering you've done #2)
I have an HTC HD2 running the native windows professional 6.5. and I would like to migrate to Android . But I have read too many
amazing stories that actually I feel lost. Which Android version could provide me a little bit of more speed and the same time
be reliable to run.
I would like to have a dual boot version in case of failure
Any advice will be appreciate
Jerome
Hello,
The place where you posted this post, is intended for development only, i.e. no questions should be asked here. Please, for any further questions use the HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and General section.
To your question: We really can't tell which version would be good for you as it differs from one person to another, but you can read this post I made a while back that should help you decide which version to choose. That post also tells you how to dual boot if you want to.
And please use the search tool next time. If you had used the search, you would have found the same post I linked you to as well as many other threads that ask the same questions and get the following answer: "There is no best ROM."
