Check this thread to use the latest version of android from wm6.5.
Since the advent of NativeSD, SD android builds have not been updated as frequently as before due to the increased performance NativeSD provides.
Edit; Even though original SD development has slowed recently, this is still a development forum. You should have posted this in the Q&A section, perhaps the mods would be so kind as to move it there.

If my hd2 has 1024mb of flash size and radio version 2.10.50.56, do I need to flash anything prior to putting the files on my sd card? i want to boot the Droid OS from the sd card without having to permanently change anything on the phone. Do i need any of the "custom roms"; or can i just start from the step of formatting my sd card, putting the files on, and running clrcad.exe and then haret.exe?
btw the files i have are from a demonoid torrent, but i can't post the link due to being a new user. its the only torrent on demonoid for Android for HD2
Your 2.10.50 radio is compatible with android.
I don't know why you thought to go to demonoid for an android build. All of the builds are FREE. Whatever was posted there is an earlier build from XDA that is by now dated.
This is also not DROID OS. The system is called anrdroid, droid is a trademark used by motorola and verizon to market their android handsets. You have an HTC be proud of it.
Check out the different android versions in the Android development section, each will have its own instructions. My personal choice is shubCRAFT 1.5.
Also, search more to get yourself out of official n00b status.
thanks for your helpful answer. can you point me in the direction of where i can start reading. this site has so much information i don't know where to start. for instance what would be my first step for putting the android os on my phone. where can i find shubcraft 1.5...etc
thanks in advance.
Head to the "android developmen" forum for the HD2. You are currently in "android development general" for the HD2. You will find all the buildes there along with some stickied threads to get you up and running. I recommend reading the first few pages of each sticky, plus the first few posts of each build. If you run into issues with a specific build, post your questions in that thread instead of starting a new one. That will hell you to get the quickest response. Best of luck to you and welcome to the wild world of the HD2. The best of WinMo and Android!

hay guys sorry id some of you get mad for me posting this here but this is the only place i know my qustion will get answered. OK im new to the windows phone deal. i have a mytouch slide and a g1 rooted so i under that hole part here is my ?.
From what i have read on the forums only build roms work with the hd2. well i would like to put android on it but after looking around most the roms on here and the links on here for putting android on the phone all lead to the LEO forum is the correct or no if not can someone tell me were to get the most resent android rom for the hd2 usa, now there seems to be two ways of installing it one is from sd card and 2 is from boot i would like to do it from boot any help would be grate thanks all and happy modding
Someone correct me if I am wrong...
There are not TWO ways of doing android.
Android is ALWAYS installed on the SD card. The only way to "boot" to it is to have your WM configured to boot the two files from your SD card required to run it, in essence there are a few apps that can do this at WM startup.
You will still need an Android friendly Windows Mobile ROM, so the stock from will not work. You also need a compatible radio.
I would check out the HD2 Android Dev forum for more info though.

The Android port cannot replace the WinMo OS just yet. The only way is to install it to your SD Card and it will run off of that. There are apps that allow you to choose between WinMo and Android on bootup. The LEO Android forum is correct since Android builds do not matter which device it is booted on.
Android is able to run on the Stock ROM, but people have said it runs better with a different ROM/Radio.
The build I recommend is Energy ROM / Radio 2.12.50.02_2 and an Android Build of your choice, but you can always run it on the Stock if you feel like it.

Hi,
Now that NAND is released, i think it is really urgent to add a new sub-forum for NAND Only Android Builds, cuz it is very confusing now, it will be a total chaos with Super Ram Builds, SD Card Builds and NAND Builds all in the same sub-forum...
greetz MakaveliTha
Agree, it will get so messy!
Agreed here as well. I don't like the cluttered mess of roms.
Yes! Mod pls check it, maybe a Subforum called other Android builds where RAM and NAND builds can be placed in like
[RAM]Android 2.3 ...
[NAND]Android 2.4...
Better sooner than later, or some poor mod has to go through all the roms and move them individually if they begin to stack up.
Past experience being a vbulletin mod lol
not to sound stupid or dumb but what exactly is a NAND Rom and what does it do ? I am still fairly new at this so please be easy with me.

NAND roms are android roms which you install onto the phones internal memory making it a primary android device. Windows mobile is completly removed.
SD Roms are android builds which run of the SD card. Windows mobile is required to boot it. Battery life is quite low as the sd card is always being accsessed.
SUPER RAM roms are similer to the SD roms but instead of running from the SD card it copies the android files to the phones ram memory. This does not kill your battery.
With the Super ram and SD builds, you can return back to windows mobile after a reset.
I'm extremely confused as to how anyone could find this confusing.
No need for more subforums.
Also, search before creating a new thread. This one adds nothing that hasn't been already said in similar threads that were posted in the last few days. Having many different threads on the exact same subject makes information difficult to find.
I think almost the same needs to be done for Themes and Apps
[Winmo] Themes and Apps
[Android] Themes and Apps
?
There is already a thread in HD2 Android General Discussion discussing this exact same idea. It has a poll and is being monitored by the Moderation/Administration team.
There is no need for a 2nd thread discussion the same thing.
Thread closed.

1. See noob guide on Flashing NAND Android rom (link in my signature)
2. You can't back it up, but there are lots of places where you can download the rom. check out the WM6.5 development thread to see if you can get a download link.
3. To me NAND is far more smooth in operation than running off of sd card. Running of sd card I guess gives the flexibility of having 2 os's that you can switch between if for some obscure reason you would want to do that (ie dual boot)
4. Just flash the stock wm rom back
5. No, it won't lock the device again. (AFAIK - 99.9% sure )
My current favourite rom is also linked in my signature.

#2 - Try this one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789506
#3 You will find all info needed wrt running Android off of sd card in this forum. Check out the first sticky which will have links to the useful posts to give guidance.
5# AFAIK no it won't. (Have never had to do an unlock and then reflash so can't confirm this one)
Hi guys, I have to create another threat, because my last one was moved to other category and I can`t reply it because I`m new in forum.
So here is the problem.
I`ve just bought HD2, and of course I want to try android SD ROM. Someone advised me that Darkstone SuperRAM v1.5 is fast stable and works good, so I tried to run it. I`ve done everything what instruction said in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870518
But nothing works. I run CLRCAD file and then HARET and I get stuck on black screen. In upper left corner are words:
"HaRET boot
Shutting down hardware
In preloader
...
Jumping to Kernel (custom)... "
Can any1 help me and tell what to do? Did I forget something to do before running android?
Looking forward for your answers,
Sorry of bad English.
Your first post was probably moved because you posted in the wrong place - which you've now done again. If you have a question about a particular build then post in that ROM thread in the right forum.
I have the same build running fine on my HD2 and I suspect you did not fully read the instructions on how to install it, nor the rules on posting here.
But also I can`t post even there, I can post only in my threads.
I tried other sd ROM but it also not worked. Maybe I have a lack of RAM memory? It says I have free 190MB. My HD2 is not T-mobile version.
Or maybe my sd card is to little? (1GB).
Are you sure you have the current stock rom version installed?
Your card is too small. And I bet you need to update the radio on your phone.
