I am on the shubcraft android on my HD2.
When I try to connect to my university WiFi over WPA2 enterprise (details below) it just does not connect sometimes. I will have to turn off the wifi ad forget the network and set it up all over again to make it work. Sometimes even it does not work.
Here are my network settings:
WPA2
MSCHAPv2
Using CA certificate and identity and password
any one else having the same problem?
Hi,

but on first try it worked flawlessly !!!
WinMo is another story... there i got many problems... got password asked 2-4 times befor it connects.....
but i also have to say we didn't use certificates to authenticate!!
but sofar i can say... no problems... if i got some problems next week i will report back!
btw: maybe this can help you:
http://de.androlib.com/android.application.org-wahtod-wififixer-qwn.aspx
thanks for the reply! I will try that software and report (though it says Froyo does not need it)
Thanks man! That works like a charm!
I really appreciate the help.

WiFi Fixer
Tried to use it together with CyanogenMod Thyphoon on a wpa2-enterprise PEAPv0/EAP-MSCHAPv2 but no cigar. WiFi fixer switches WiFi on and off and tries to do it's magic, but up untill now it will not budge.

Good afternoon,
First of all, I'd like to say thanks to Helmi, Ivan and all the others that works on ROMs. I've set up one and that works better than I imagined.
Nevertheless, I still have one or two problems. Got an unsecured wifi network at home with both b and g connection, but my O2 Exec won't connect. He's trying, trying and stop.
Strange isn't it? And if I go to the London Applestore, no problem works well.
Any ideas???
Oh, just a last thing, there's a great deal of manipulation to do when I turn on my bt620s headset to get it to wireless mode. Anyway to get it easier?

i think i cant get ip from dhcp server.try to set ip mannualy
If only
Sorry, I should have said that as I'm using macintosh computers have set up my DHCP server off !
I have connections problems with my WIFI-Router!
I don't know where the problem is!
I have my wifi connection saved to my cell phone ("Remembered the network") but when the router is ON the phone tells me "Not in range" and doesn't connect to it automatically! AND that happens on the remaining 2 android phones that i have! So i guess the problem is not in the phone! Besides they scan many wifi signals in the area but not the one of my house!
However, if i keep restarting the router and forgetting the network then adding it manually, "sometimes" it works and all phones can connect normally to the router!
It is bugging me a lot because sometimes 2 days pass without being able to connect!!!
What can be this problem?!
Thanks
PS: PCs and my bro's nokia symbian connect normally to the router all the time!
I know this has something to do with MAC addresses and IP addresses but i dunno what...
What kind of router do you have, and what kind of network security?
Maybe try changing from wep to wap, I had Android on my old Rhodium, and it would connect to wap and unsecured, but wep wouldn't work. I think HD2's don't have the same problem, but anything's worth a try. There is no such thing as failure, just finding out what doesn't work before you can find out what does work

First thanks for the reply!
I guess the problem is in the router too! Although i didn't have that problem weeks ago
I have D-Link router and secured with WEP!
Ok i will try to change the security
But does changing the security will affect the PC connection!?
My hd2 is running TyphooN CyanogenMod 7. I attend the University of Arizona and can't connect to their network. What happens is it scans, connects, authenticates, then disconnects? I have spent the last 2 weeks looking for a solution such as editing my wpa_supplicant and either my wifi gets an error or it still does not connect.
Also, I went down to my university's tech center and they told me I SHOULD be able to if the EAP is PEAP and the phase 2 is MSCHAPV2 but everytime i change it, it goes back to "none".
I have even tried switching to other roms in hope that it will work and still no luck.
please help me!
i had the same problem. i believe most ROMS have had this issue until recently. There are a few kernels that have been released that i believe address this issue. I'm using HyperDroid and it has this fix. if you insists on sticking with the ROM you have then just find a kernel with the fix.

Thanks grimmja! I will flash it over right now! is there anything else you did besides just set up the entering identification and password for the wifi?

Hello everyone!!
I installed NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.8 ROM in my HTC HD2, everything works just perfectly, but when I try to access the wireless at work that has the SSID hidden and password protected with WEP encryption the wireless doesn't work at all, it says: "Not in range, WEP protected"
I have configured the network manualy, with static IP Address, Gateway, Net Mask, and DNS (all required to be able to connect to the network)
I have searched alot in google and in this Forum, but I failed to get a solution to my problem, I have installed programs like "Wifi Advanced", "WifiConnector", "Hidden SSID"... But none of them solved my problem.
When I had Windows Mobile 6.5 installed everything worked just fine, but since I moved to Android I failed everytime to connect to the wireless.
My System:
- HTC HD2 (bought new, unbranded)
- NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V2.8_NAND_(Android-2.3.4)
- Radio Leo 2.15.50.14
- MAGLDR_CWM_Recovery_v3.0.2.5_for_NexusHD2_135M
- HSPL 2.08
No one can help ?
This is really anoying
Am I the only person having this problem ?
No one have any idea how to solve this ??
Please help!!
Hi SmileXPT,
This is a irritating problem indeed. I use to have the same issue on some SD and NAND builds before, and the reason was the security settings of my router + MAC address filtering was enabled. It used to be WEP too, but nowadays it's advisable to use atleast WPA or WPA2 since it is more secure.
You could check if the router or accesspoint has MAC address filtering enabled. This means that the MAC address of your HD2 isn't in the whitelist of the router. In some Android builds the MAC address isn't unique, or the kernel isn't stable, for example: PPP is faster than RMNET but can drop out, RMNET is more stable but slightly slower.
You could also try Pongster's "HyperDroid-CM7-v2.1.0" build. I use it daily with a stable wifi connection for Whatsapp. I never had a dropout with the connection.
But what I wonder is:
- does wifi work @ other places?
- does your HD2 see other accespoints in the list?
Greets

Thank you very much for your answer!
I know WPA and WPA2 are more secure... but because the network I'm trying to access is of my Company, I can't change the settings of it... The MAC Address filtering is not active.
I'm going to try the build that you suggested and I will let you know if worked.
Thanks again for your time!
Thanks mister.halfblood, the "HyperDroid-CM7-v2.1.0" really works very well
Now I don't have any problem with the wireless
The only problem is... that I don't like the default theme is too dark...
Thanks again!

Hi SmileXPT,
you're welcome, no problem!
I use to have the same NAND build on my HD2. Also have a look at the latest GPS fix from Tytung's thread here.
It will for sure help you out getting a better and faster signal lock.
If you would like to change the theme I advise you to check out some skins for ADW, a lot of them are free to download on the market.
Well, I'm glad all has worked out for you! Have a nice weekend!
Peace!
I've used to get to the web using my laptop as an Ad Hoc access point since my partner doesn't allow me to have a dedicated access point, but, since the day I updated to froyobread V18 coming from V17 it stopped connecting to my laptop using Ad Hoc (which is the only way to share an internet connection wirelessly) and instead it stucks at "obtaining IP address"..!
I've tried to go back to V17 and that didn't fix anything, and now I'm running GingerDX V13 and the problem still exist..I've also tried to format my SD card which also didn't help, so I'm now almost out of "web coverage" since there is no real 3G support in my country..
Also tried to do a full wipe and to "forget" all remembered networks.. and it didn't help.
Any ideas regarding the problem would be greatly appreciated..
May firewall of your PC cos this problem, close it and try again.
anoher possibility, you can't use WPA/WPA2 PSK type password, WEP or OPEN is ok. sorry for poor English.
Have you restarted ur phone after removing stored wlan information?
I did but still not wotking.

Thanks a lot qjw451.. however my firewall is always turned off and i used to connenct using open network all the time..I geuss that something went wrong with my phone but I don't know what it is..
@l1nkiboy
So you do have the same problem?..
Actually I've tried it, didn't work..
Any other ideas?
As you can see it is really a big problem not bieng able to connect your Android phone to the internet.
try connectify.
wc_how
Thanks a LOT!
I wonder how I forgot about connetify, I used to use it before upgrading to Froyobread (since the stock ROM doesn't support Ad Hok), then I moved to Ad Hok connection since connectify is buggy a little bit. However it is WAY better than nothing.
Thanks again wc_how.
I never thought to tell you anything because i have no idea with the ad hoc.
But when i saw you asking for any other ideas, suddenly connectify came to me.
You are lucky lol.
