Hi, I'm new here and I have successfully installed Android 1.5 to my HTC Vogue with HaRET but I would like to have either FroYo or Eclair. How would I go about doing this?
I do not want to flash my rom quite yet. I want to have it dual booting WM6.1 and Android until I'm brave enough to flash it.

First, you need to delete all the android system that already installed, or you could make a backup of your andboot folder - just in case, maybe you want to go back to 1.5 without starting all over again.
Download any Eclair or Froyo build by the dev here in the forum, and place it together with your base file - some build may include these file in their package, then run Haret again.
The process is the same as 1.5 except with the newer files. You will not be able to "update" to a 2.x OS, you have to start from a clean slate, so be aware of that. Make note of all your programs so you know what to install again.
So would I just replace the ZImage file to a newer build or is there other files I require aside from the basefiles?
Eg. If I want Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo 2.2 [Deodexed] [RLS12] [7/26/10] version of FroYo do I just download the ZImage file or also the NBH file. From my knowledge, I think the NBH is for installing on NAND and ZImage for SD cards.
I didn't understand my own wording so here is what I mean. Do I need the ZImage or NBH or both?
you'll need a newer ZImage and his androidinstall.tar (or .tgz). You are correct in that the NBH is only for NAND while the ZImage is for SD Card installs.
Thanks a ton! Just downloading the files and I'm ready to test it out
I've tried SDCard load and NAND load for Droid
NAND is much faster and much more stable
Some people have reported issues when running off SDCard that disappear when flashed to NAND
Once you start using Froyo 2.2 and get it sync'ed with google - you won't want to go back to WinMo
Running Froyo RLS 12 @ 320x480 / 160DPI / 500mhz OC

did you ever get this to work, because I cannot.
I did get it to work and it runs pretty good off the SD card and I am just about to flash it to the NAND after reading the comment above yours from Does_It_Matter.
I used DZO's basefiles for installation.

Flash Android 2.2
Hello i need help! i Want to flash my HTC touch with Froyo 2.2 or Eclair 2.1.... right now i have daulbooting Android 1.5 and WM 6.1 useing harit....
Links please
link please for nand file n ZImage n process to installl both
Go look in the Vogue Android dev forum, everything is in there.
ok...actually I did go to htc cdma android forum. tried many different android files. can anyone please help me understand how to choose the right file in which the cdma 1x data voice and data would work.
so far all the packages I've tried, I've had 2 problems:
1. after the first normal outgoing/incoming call, the 2nd call will not make the phone ring though the caller can hear the ringback tone.
2. all packages I tried had gsm apn settings instead of a place where you configure the cdma 1x data account.
can someone explain what Im doing wrong? thanks so much.

I have been using shubCRAFT CM6 for almost 4 days now. And everything is PERFECT "seriously.....everything" (including battery life) I am using Chuckydroidrom and im curious to know if i can switch android Rom while keeping my data (sms etc) if i can switch to try out a different android rom. What is the proper way to do it?
[Q] If "everything is PERFECT "seriously.....everything" (including battery life)".... why would you want to try another build?
seriously if you are having NO problems then stick with it until the first actual ROM is available to flash.
to 'answer' your [Q]..... I'm not sure you can backup and transfer user data between these different builds/ports.
IF you have achieved perfection already, you would be silly to mess with it anyway IMHO
I know this (below) refers to upgrading mattc 1.4 to 1.5 but it MIGHT also apply to upgrading any build to any other build without losing user data.

U can try to back everything up n when you put the new build copy the "data.img" and you should have all your apps and stuff, and it'll boot faster on the first boot.

I am very interested in the Android development for HTC HD2 and I would very much like to try one of these builds. However, I'm totally confused as to what to do, how to install, what to install, which version to choose, etc. In other words.... I'm not a developer!
I would therefore suggest an "Available Android Release Thread" here on the forum, where each developer who is working on this can have a post that they can update when they update their release, and where they could list the installation steps and the prerequisites for going through with it.
If this already exists, please excuse me, I just didn't find it.
If it doesn't, I would appreciate it greatly if you could take the time to create it.
Thanks, and let me add that I and probably the entire HD2 user community, greatly appreciate and value the effort you guys are putting into this!
1)Install HSPL on your win mo.
2)Load Radio 2.12.50 (must end with 50) via bootloader.
3)Download hyperdroid v 1.5
4)In your root of your sdcard, create a folder "HyperDroidV1.5"
5)Copy the files you have downloaded to the folder you just created.
6)Open up the folder, tap on CLRCAD to enable sound.
7)Tap up on Haret.exe to boot linux.
8)Wait for about 5 mins for initial.
9)Viola, you got android on your phone.
P/S : If you dont know the terms yet, do some homework by googling it. It is readily available in the net.
there are stickies on how to install, what version is personal prference
and the majority of devs who release their builds do say in inthe first thread of what to do to get it running

Your phone turns into a motorola droid or droid 2?
Just an FYI...
My wife has the same phone and she hates it, for obvious reasons. I will soon be using her phone to create an instructional video that will take you through the whole processes.
I will be including installing HSPL, Radio, Winmo ROM,and finally Android.
So, when time permitting and I can swipe her phone for long enough...

Thanks, but I flashed my winmo ROM and updated the radio, now I'm using sergio's desire build perfectly
One thing that should be noted, my feeling is that WM stock ROM messes with android and causes a whole mess of problems, so you should flash an approved ROM before booting your android. This is JUST IN MY EXPERIENCE.
Had SOD with every build before, now I'm nearing the end of my second day with no SOD issues at all.

weird.. have you tried formating your card? and make sure u copy all the things that come with the download on there. which winMo rom u running? the radio i think it shouldnt matter. has to do with the sd card.. how much memory u have available?
Hated it anyway.. Always the wrong prefix before my numbers..

actually the radio version does matter.. it has to be on at least 2.08 for android to run..
Hi Guys,
Kinda similar problem... Hopefully I can share more details.
Im using an Australian Telstra HD2 (T-mobile_leo) Energy.Leo.21916.Sense2.5.Oct.08 with radio 2.12.50.02
The droid build Im using is Mdeejay FroYo Z v.1.1|1.31.405.1|kernel: hastarin R7.5
Formatted, booted, installed some stuff, rebooted again and all seemed well.
But I use phone as a storage device (and have done it before with no issues) then tnings seem to go to poo hell.
OS gets slow and on restart, the launch stalls on the HTC screen and will not progress any further.
Really enjoy the android builds and this is the 2nd build that has done this on my phone.
Any ideas on what I can do to recover?
For the ones having problems on getting stuck on HTC boot image with mdeejay roms, try downloading a data.img from here http://www.multiupload.com/GZ1JUZBYJI and copy it in the /sdcard/android/
( inside android folder ). It should take around 2 minutes to boot after that.
Also try to use a 2.10 or 2.12 radio.
copied the file into the android folder (which was supiciously empty) and pulled the battery 10 min later.
Have I got the right folder or do I need to replace the 1GB .img in the root?
Make sure that inside that folder you have every file found in the .zip folder downloaded from any of the builds threads. ( there should be 10-11 folders+files)
You can either replace it or try and find a 1gb data.img file from here http://www.multiupload.com/BJ2FXF9IRM ( just to make sure ), maybe you already have the right file, but I dont know that
I tested both sizes 512Mb and 1 Gb and both worked ok.
Thanks for the help Viperd.
I bit the bullet this time and reformatted (just because I needed a phone and gps ) but I have grabbed the image files and a quick script to check the files on the card the next time this happens
after waiting for a while to see if windows 7 would be released publicly for this phone, and after finish paying off the phone i have decided to just say "Screw you microsoft" and go with an android build, but i have NO idea where to start with this.
The basics of my knowledge of cell phones is that i have put cookies home tab editor, and a few extra things on my phone, i have backed up my phone a couple of times, and i even done the official t-mobile upgrade for my phone, i know a decent amount about computers in general, but haven't had the chance to play around with my phone and it's OS like i have with a computer, being that my phone is very important to me because of my work, and that i don't have a house phone, only my cell phone.
So, could someone at least direct me to all of the forums with the best downloads for the andriod OS, and extras that i will need to get android working on my HD2?
and am i able to run cookies home tab on my HD2 even if it has android OS?

Don't quote me on this, but from what I've heard HSPL2/3 indeed are not required, but if you somehow screw up your phone without them, you're basically ****ed. HSPL2/3 should always (well, most of the time) be able to revert you back to stock.

You don't need to upgrade HSPL at all. What you must have (100% MUST!!) is a radio version 2.08 or later (2.x.50 versions, NOT 2.x.51 versions).
Until the recent release of the official 3.14 ROM there was no other way to upgrade the radio to the minimum required other than custom flashing, which requires a HSPL upgrade. (Not 100% sure that 3.14 was the first, but I believe it was).
Either way, it's the radio that's crucial to Android - not HSPL.
(I ain't no Android chef or dev - this is just gleaned from what I've read on this forum, so may not be 100% accurate, but it's never failed for me.)
ok, mine Radiois 2.15.50.14, so that means i don`t need to update radio, rom is 3.14.479.2(wwe) it`s stock one...
I have another question then: after installing android on sd card, is there any changes made to stock wm rom or else? or it`s just installing android on sd, and after formating sd card everything will be stock? thnx...

Nothing else to do - just copy the android folder to your card and then run the 2 apps (clrcad & haret). Personally, I use a bootloader that runs with Windows, so when I reboot my phone I get the option to run Android or "run" Windows. (Windows is obviously already running at that point. It just closes the app if you select Windows.)
You don't need to format your card to go back to your current config. Just reboot your phone and don't run Android.

No worries mate - glad to help. Hope you get it running - Android's sweet
rather than start a new thread, i have a supplementary question.
It's hard to search for this question, so apologies if it's been covered.
Is it better to run a stripped down custom WM ROM to boot android? or will a stock WM ROM (with the correct radio etc.) run Android just as good?
Does it make a difference?
(I just got a stock HD2 with 3.14 ROM and 2.08.50... radio...)
Hi, this is my first post here
I've been here for a long time (well didn't have a handset so didn't find the need to join...)
I read through many articles and learned a lot from this forum
Last weekend I got my T-Mobile HD2 and I proceeded to install custom rom soon after
(latest Energy rom by NRGZ28- thanks)
The rom is awesome, it's just that I wanna try out android on my phone also...
I decided I'll try the SD first
So I followed a guide just downloaded the rom I want (MCCM GB V2.0 Gingerbread HoneyComb Sense theme) unzip, then copy to the root of my sd, run clrcad (don't know what he meant by working sound- I heard nothing) then run haret....
Then I am always stuck at the green letters screen forever, never get further...
I'm not sure what is wrong
I looked through all possible things
I did HardSPL4 and now has HSPL2.08, I got a custom rom
The only thing I did not change and think might be the problem is the radio...
my version is 2.10.50.26
Would flashing an updated radio make my android on sd work?
Is this "Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14**" ok for my HD2? (on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787)
Thanks for the help nice to talk to everyone~

Ha I guess you did not like the first option, so I will edit the whole post.
Running Andriod from SD is very simple as long as you follow the instructions to the T. If the Andriod folder you copied to your SD card has another folder in it that you have to open to get to CLRCLAD and HARET then you need to copy that folder to the root of your SD card. It is also important the name of the folder is Andriod. The first time you boot the Andriod it can take up to ten minutes sometimes cause it has to creat folders, files, and pathways. So maybe you are not giving it enough time to boot all the way up beforeo you hit the reset button or do a battery pull. Your SD card also needs to be formated correctly you want to format it usimg Fat 32, please make a back up copy of your card also if you reformat it as it will wipe it clean. Last but not least you may just have a bad download. Try redownloading the build and recopy it to your SD card then run CLRCAD and HARET.
The only thing a radio will do is cure robot sounding voices during a phone call while running Andriod but most builds now have that solved and are compatible with the current radio 2.15.50.14. Also when you touch on CLRCAD you will see or hear nothing it enables the sound on the Andriod build.
Last but not least being you have a TMOUS (T-Mobile) HD2. Be adviced that you most flash a radio version that has a 50 in the third set of numbers like 2.xx.50.xx. Do not flash a radio that has a 51 in the third set of numbers like 2.xx.50.xx. or a radio that looks like this 2.04.50.xx or 2.05.50.xx as they will brick your TMOUS HD2 reindering it usless for nothing but a paper wieght. And the only way to unbrick a HD2 is with a JTAG and a ORT wich will cost you and you will have to take your HD2 apart to fix.
O_O is the issue that difficult?
I don't mind calling though
Thanks
