I was just wondering, if I want to flash another ROM while I already have a ROM being flashed (non stock) do I just flash the new ROM that I want or do I have to run HSPL3 again or what do I do?
Sorry if this has been answered already, I tried searching but I never got an answer for this specific question, but if its on here, just point me in my way and close the thread.
Thanks
Also, where can I download HaRet and ClrCad, i want to give the android thing a try.
thanks, once again.
once you flash hspl you will remain unlocked till you flash a factory rom.
IT's in the flashing guide
Android question I'm not even going to answer that. read guide to android and HD2
Alright, cool man.
And since you asked about android and HSPL in the same post, I'll just make sure you're aware that running haret (and therefore android), doesn't require HSPL'ing your HD2.
Like TM said, just get yourself lost in the new HD2 Android forum section, and the guides there will tell you everything you need to know

This may sound like a very stupid question but to be honest, i never done this before. I would like to change the ROM i have on my htc hd2. I get stuck in the process and I been searching on the web and youtube to learn how its done. Of course I dont want to brick my phone so I am cautious of what im doing. Now, I would like to put a rom like an Android one or a ROM that would get rid of all the programs i dont use..mobi tv, blockbuster, etc...Will somebody post or reply to step by step on how its done..from scratch..I will really, really appreciate the help.thx

You will need to read a bit before diving in but start HERE for the step by step.
Then Try the HD2.0 UnOff Series.
How far have you gotten on the process? do you still have a stock HD2 (or have you changed the SPL/HSPL)? is it a T-mobile version HD2(that is important to know)?
yeah, i still have the stock hd2. yeah, its the tmobile version
I would suggest reading the guide in this section
(5th thread from the top, named [TUT] Flashing your First GSM USA 1024LEO ONLY!! (For Noobs) - I would post the link but being a noob to the forums myself, I can't post links yet )
It talks all about what you need to do inorder to be able to flash a ROM on your phone.
As for Android.... there is no Android ROM for the HD2 per-say... it's actually a very basic WM ROM with the loader built in, points to the Android files that you should have on your MicroSD... and then boots into Android. If you plan on ONLY running Android on the phone... I would suggest one like Energy from NRG.... his standard TMOUS ROMs have the Android loader cooked in, and he has an "Android ROM" if you want to go that route.
Been running his 8/25 - 23569 build, been working great... real clean and FAST, and has the Android loader built in, so I get my Android fix when I want it

you can load an android rom on a stock winmo rom, it just wont work as well.
Hi all,
I was wondering if you guys could help me getting Android on my HD2.
I've been digging this forum for several weeks now, there is so much information that I don't know what to do!
I've got a European HD2, not the T-Mobile one. The reason I would like to have Android running on it is because Windows 6.5 hangs quite often and it's too slow in my opinion.
After finding out how to check my SPL version, I found that I have 3.03.0000. Is it actually possible to run Android on it?
I've also seen some topics about dual boot and switching back and forth between Android and WM. That's not a requirement for me, I actually prefer just running Android without having the opportunity for WM.
Some specification which I don't know it's useful, but I'll post them anyway;
- OS Version; 5.2.21913 (21913.5.0.94)
- Manila-Version; 2.5.20181527.0
- ROM Version; 3.14.404.2 (04666) NLD
- ROM Date; 10/06/10
- Radio Version; 2.15.50.14
I would appreciate your help a lot!
Kind regards,
Jerome
Flash from SPL to HSPL might going to work, but work better with custom ROM along with the HSPL.
Some user reporting that they can run Android with their stock ROM and SPL, but I don't know. Try it. You should wait a few minute for the first boot....possible at least 5.
If it don't work, then I hope you use the statement I mention in the first sentence.
Could you tell me what do you and what SPL and HSPL is exactly?
I don't have much knowledge yet, but I'm willing to learn!
Thank you for your reply anyway!
If you are willing to learn then you best option is to actually read the threads that already exist instead of creating a pointless one.
First go into the HD2 Rom thread and learn how to get HSPL on your phone and a custom rom and updated radio.
After yu have done that come back to the Android sections and learn how to boot android.
First.. Check what ROM you have currently. By the looks of it with radio 2.15.50 you look to have the latest ROM from HTC installed. Unfortunately there is no HSPL Software for the latest ROM from HTC so you will have to downgrade your rom which will let you use HSPL3 (Linkage)
SPL is the "software" on your phone that stops you flashing non HTC Roms. You use a utility called HSPL (above) to install HSPL on your phone to enable you to flash a custom rom.
Once you have HSPL on you can them flash a custom rom from the forums. I use the OzDroid 1.11 as it has been very stable at running android.
Once that is Flashed to your phone you will need to choose which android version you require. I use MDJ FroYo HD V4.3. Download it and copy the ANDROID folder onto your SD Card.
Re-boot OzDroid and you will be presented with the Choose screen. Windows or Droid. Select Android and it will boot into android. You will need to wait 5-15 mins for android to boot on first run.
Hope this helps.

man its not that easy, if someone has little background knowledge in all this all the unfamiliar information and new terms can be too confusing. Sometimes you just have to ask questions...
...although i do understand that there are probably thousands of posts started by asking the same exact questions ("which is the best android rom for HD2")and that can actually make it that much harder to wrap ones head around.
Do you need WM ROM, or can u run just Android?

Q: Do you have to load a "custom rom", I assume you mean WM ROM?
Isn't there a way to load Android straight onto the EPROM Memory of your phone, so that only Android runs and not the full WM in the background? Surely that would save RAM and battery?
I found this thread useful, also trying to wade thru the info.
Thanks

no there isnt a way to do this yet without WM on the phone as well.
however, the "full WM" is not running in the background, its just needed to get the linux module started and then boot Android. Nothing is really "running in the background" but it is running from the sd card.
hope some of this helps.

Thanks for the reply.
Is there then a way to get both android and WM on the ROM of the HD2. Since its about 512MB, there won't be space for much else, but that should save the battery, since android wont be running from the SD card.
5haddex;
Thank you so incredible much on helping me here! I've got OzDroid running now, it looks awesome already, now I need to find my preferred Android built, but that shouldn't be a problem.
Again, thank you so much!
I've got OzDroid up and running now, works great too!
But when I try to boot into Android with the provided CleanDROID, or with CLRCAD and hared, the phone hangs after showing the command line;
Jumping into custom kernel...

Even when I let the phone untouched for 6 hours, it won't do anything.
I've tried several Android builds, also trying to "repair" startup.txt with CleanDROID which gives me an error too.
Any thoughts? Maybe try another custom rom? Any tips or links on that one?
Cheers
edit;
what about the EnergyROM with Sense 2.5 Reference?

Anybody please?
I would appreciate your help a lot!
Different Android builds don't fix the problem too. HSPL 2.08 running..
I've changed my radio to 2.10, the HD2 proceeds to the HTC booting logo, but stays there for an hour now...
Any ideas?
I'll try to make this short. So a few months ago I did a little research and spent a day getting nand android on my hd2 for the first time. I truly have no idea how I accomplished this ha. Anyways up until a week ago it was running fine. Now I have had a lot of freezing and powering down/up issues. I made the call to start over and find a new rom. So I put the stock t-mobile rom back on.
I know there's a bunch of guides on here, and I tried my best to take it all in but I'm still confused. I want to install the Hyperdroid gbx nand rom but I feel clueless where to start.
Could someone please provide links to each of the downloads in steps? The stickied definitive guide is nice but I just don't know where to get each of the downloads.
Like....from stock I need A) different radio B) hspl3 c) magdlr 1.13 (no need to provide this I got it) d)clockwork
Is there a custom rom that I needed to before I put android on and when do I install this.
Sorry for being an ignorant, computer illiterate fool, I just really want android back on my phone and running smoothly. Actually now that I put wm6.5 back on I just want android on here period. I don't care if it has the same issues as last time haha.
Thank you to anyone in advance. All of this is overwhelming to me so I apologize again.
EDIT:
Since I went back to 3.14 do I not need to install a new radio? Also I had Magldr 1.1 before.
Hello,
I do apologize for opening a new thread, but I wasn't able to find a fully comprehensive guide on the website /probably due to me not searching properly, but the situation is a bit urgent./
A couple of years ago I flashed a NAND ROM to my HTC HD2 (a CoreDroid ROM), but now I need to return it to its factory settings. Since it has been a while since I fiddled with ROMs, rooting, etc. I have completely forgotten how the whole thing works. So, now to the point.
I have a CoreDroid ROM installed. I can't remember where to check the Radio version of the phone, however I know I have ClockWorkMod and Cotulla HSPL 2.08 installed. I need to return the phone to Win6.5 OS with the original/or better custom/ ROM, Radio and HSPL (which, in spite of at least half an hour of searching, I was unable to find a download for, neither here or on the HTC website...).
I will also ask kindly for someone to post a link or explain to me step by step how to do that properly. I apologize if the threat is redundant, but, like I said, I need this to happen ASAP. My fiance is leaving the country tomorrow and has lost her phone and, unfortunately, this is the only spare we have, but it isn't working properly with the Android NAND ROM.
If anyone is kind enough to answer my request, many thanks in advance!!!
Hello there, and first of all excuse my english, I'll try to explain my question as best as I can
I have an htc Surround running a custom ROM (the phone was already running an old DFT ROM when I got my hands on it), after some research I am still doubting if flashing my phone with a stock ROM can lock something making it unable to reinstall the current Custom ROM on my phone.
It's just a simple question, but can't find any clear info about that, so I am asking as my last resource, I don't want to lock the bootloader or something like that.
My plan is to install a stock ROM, then upgrade it step-by-step to 7.8 using the Seven-Eighter tool, and if anything goes wrong or I don't like it, reinstall the custom ROM from always using the RUU I have on my hard disk
If need to post some info about my phone feel free to ask about it.
Regards and thanks for reading!
Hi, it's me again
Reading more I find this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647
looks like I should lose my HSPL (as I refer to bootloader in my previous post) if I flash using a stock ROM using the RUU from NODO.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Regards
