So today I got my 2nd slide in the mail...My slide is having keyboard/wiggle problems so I called an they sent me another one which when I recieved that one it had the exact same problem but much worse, so I called um an they sent me another one again which I just got and guess what this one has same problem, although not as bad (yet), AND it has horrible lights leaks coming thru the screen AND light coming thru the front cover! WTF.
Should I call an get another one sent an try yet again to get a good one OR should I tell um i want something else an if so will they send me something diff or am I only gonna be able to replace it with the same phone?
I like this phone very much but damn if I cant one that looks and works right I may have to sell it on Craigslist an find something else. Im not picky I just want my moneys worth from a phone that cost me $300 an that when I got worked great. Feel me?
What would yall do?

i would try to get a different phone, as been reading around here i saw couple threads say the camera has degrading issue too
I'd ask for a Vibrant. That's just me though... After that many replacements they have to understand that giving you a different phone is in their best interests, ya know. I haven't experienced any problems with my Slide but I am expecting to run into some... I may go ahead and try to sell mine now before it screws up, and get myself a Vibrant (though, I've heard that has been having its share of issues as well). Either that or wait to see what phones are coming out for the big fall release (the rumored Vision seeming likely). But yeah I'd say ask for something else.
Wait until september the g1 blaze and mytouch hd come out in september

Rumers.....
Im gonna call them today an see what they say. They will prob want to just send me another slide but i may just tell not to. My sister got the new Vibrant so I played with that yesterday and decided that, although its a very nice phone, its not what I want at all. Ive got an Ipone now that I sometimes use and that Vibrant is pretty similar and im tired of that kind of phone. Which is another reason I really want this MyTouch to be a good phone. Ill let yall know what they say. Thanks for your thoughts.
Let me know what they say about giving you a different phone. I'm on my 3rd slide and I'm think I just want the galaxy untill something better comes out in a couple months.

Ok so I called um and this time they told me to go to a store an show them what im talking about an see if they can replace or fix it there. Well I know they cant fix it cause it isnt something like that an I doubt they give me a brand new one when Im there SO I bet ill be calling um back tomorrow after I leave the tmoile store so they can send me another one. Hope fully the next one wont be messed up. Well see...
Did you ask about getting a different replacement phone besides the slide??
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
Didnt really have a chance to ask um that cause the guy was persistant on me taking it to a tmobile store. Im thinking bout calling them back an seeing what another rep says I should do cause the tmobile store by me is in the mall an I hate the mall. Plus he said he didnt think they could give me a brand new one I would have to get a refurbished one, which is another reason I think I should just call um again im pretty sure they only have new ones at the store, although I could be wrong.

Good luck. I'm on my third Slide for various connection and MMS/SMS problems. This phone is just a piece of ****. So far, the only thing they have wanted to replace it with is a Blackberry Bold. Not quite going to cut it.
Well I decided to go ahead and keep the replacement phone they sent me that has the small light leaks. My bf said he cant barely see what im talking about. Plus ive already rooted, flashed and installed a custom rom on this new one an its running good. Guess I can learn to look past the light leaks. Ill prob end up selling this one on Craigslist soon as Tmobile comes out with something better later this year.

Wow so sorry about the late reply, I have actually just rooted my phone and it was surprisingly painless. It took me less than 10 minutes and I was done. I am actually still running the stock ROM and I haven't really seen any ROM that makes me want to change that. What ROM(s), if any, caught your attention?
[edit]
I am now running CM OC806 kernel as well
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
Well I'm running Eugenes version of froyo now an I like it the best so far now. Besides the camara being a bit slower an maybe a couple other things none of which are bad enough to remember right now, this rom is pretty stable.
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
That's cool. I want to see some screen shots of what his ROM has on it. I'm going to do a search and try to find some. I'd like to flash a stable ROM to my phone, I've just been slacking

Your on your 3rd slide and you think that's great? I'm trying to get rid of my slide now I'm selling it on Craigslist for $200 an so far all I've been offered are trades for an iPhone 3g which I already have. I'm done with this phone an ready for something better. Hopefully someone will buy it from me.before they come.out with new phones cause if not there's no way Im gonna be able to sell this thing.

It changed last month. It is really nice now, but people still question insurance. However this doesn't help w/ lost or stolen or water damaged devices. Also physical damage can be fixed in house now if we have the parts.

When I took my phone in I removed root completely. But I made a backup just before I unrooted. So all I did was did unrevoked root real quick. Flashed amon-ra with Rom manager and nand recovered previous settings. Simple as pie.

Why does everybody worry about taking their phones in for repair if they are rooted? As long as what you want to get fixed isn't software related they don't care. I am rooted and running Fresh with Riptide's theme and took my phone in last month for a screen replacement and yesterday to replace a broken plastic cover over the camera lens. Nothing was said the first time for the screen, and yesterday I was asked how I was getting the great battery life I was getting so I told them it was due to the custom ROM and kernel. They were impressed. And, yes both repairs were free because I have Total Equipment Protection.

Most of them won't care or won't even know. But all it takes of that one guy to care and then void your warranty. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to take that chance because of laziness.

I would raise holy hell if they tried to void my warranty on a non-software related issue I brought my phone in for. Feel free to root and unroot all you want. I'll stick with "laziness".
I had my screen crack fixed by Sprint. I simply flashed Joey Krim's stock looking rooted 2.2 and they didn't ask a question.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=699847
Just make a nandroid of your phone. I put my OEM SD card back in the phone and kept my good SD card with me. They fixed my screen, no questions asked. However, when they accidentally broke my volume down button on the side (need that one!) they just gave me a new phone. Nothing but good things about Sprints service.
i have the most ANNOYING problem ever. and yes thats a GREEN STUCK PIXEL ON THE SCREEN. Had it since i turned on my Vision. Anyone been able to successfully get rid of this? i just might send this one back and get a refurbished one. thats how annoyed i am with this. Just besides this damn pixel, the phone is flawless. i even have a good hinge i don't want to switch and end up having a bad one.
Never seen that on a phone but you can try using a non-scratch cloth to 'massage' it out.

An fyi for those out there in love with your og dinc! Be careful with it I accidentally ran mine over and Asurion is replacing them with DInc2s, Im not sure how I feel about it yet as i wont get my hands on it for a couple of days as im out of town and wont be home until late tomorrow luckily I had a spare phone and my tablet

I wished that happened to me. I had to go through that process, but they still sent me a Dinc.
The 2 isn't bad now that its permanently rooted and they've got AOSP roms (CM7, MIUI) as well as sense ones, if that's what you're in to. It seems pretty responsive and the screen looks pretty nice too, blacks aren't as good as my AMOLED incredible, but aside from that it looks good to my eyes.
Its a decent enough looking phone an all im just not sure what im gonna do i may just sell the inc2 and keep the x (my backup phone) even though im not a big fan of the droid x ill see after i get cm7 on it...

It seems that the DInc2 is better than the DInc... except I prefer amoled over super LCD... but that's the only downfall really...

No it doesn't matter, that is what Assurion is for, they handle replacements that are not covered by your warranty. So if you brick your phone and can recover it, they replace it after you pay your deductible.
Good to know, wasn't sure to what extent they would cover. Thank you
There's a new deductible isn't there? Any idea what it is now? I cracked the glass around the side of my phone the first week, and have been babying it for the last year. The touch screen is now having issues, but I'm just not sure i want to part with my phone.

I am really frustrated with my LG G2 because of the screen problem I encountered. The screen goes up and down, it happens when I over using the phone. I went on LG service center to reset my phone. still no luck, the problem is still there. They think its a software problem. I hope LG will release new software update on G2
To me that seems more like a hardware problem, not a software one.
Can you reproduce the problem at will?
Dude, I think you have a lemon...
Good luck!
It happened when i charged my phone with the screen is on and i always reading manga. maybe the screen is too sensitive. Yea i think this is hardware issue

You are running it completely stock? And you've done a factory reset? If so, it sounds to me like your phone is defective. These phones are so new it should still be under warranty, right?

Got a similar problem. I am unsure if I want to send it back for exchange or just keep it, as there are plenty of reports of owners exchanging G2's just to get another with the same problem. Looks to me to be a software issue - at least with my G2 - as I can get past it by just turning the screen off/on.
Let us know how your G2 turns out.

Lol just swapped it out. We will see how the new one does but so far way way better. Seriously my phone was horrible. I read and read thread after threads today and my case seemed way worse then everyone else's. Like most people's was tolerable, this was intolerable. I'd say 6 out of 10 times u turned on the screen it be messed up.
I showed the best buy mobile guy and he said without a doubt there's a problem. The best place for me to show him was the app drawer, if u held ur finger on the screen it would bounce and randomly select apps, we tried the demo unit and it worked perfectly.
Ill keep u updated on how this baby does.

Yikes - sorry to hear this.
I wondered if my first G2 was worse b/c I aggressively set it up right from the start: disabling apps I don't want, installing a bunch of apps, etc. On G2 #2, I didn't do that and although I've seen this issue surface on my new G2, it has been just a couple of times.
You need to use whatever phone you get the most enjoyment out of. The G2 undeniably has a software glitch that causes this PIA issue. Too bad it didn't work out for you. Good luck with your Note.
I hope LG addresses this issue SOON!!

This happened to a few people here in Thailand. We are posting the issues on a group in facebook.
My iPhone 4s used to bounce all over the place when plugged in to charge.
My G2 hasn't had any hardware issues at all yet. I've had it going on 7 months now. Works perfectly.
My advice is that if you get a replacement or repair and it does it again, never get another LG product again. Just like me an Apple. I'm done with them. There's a guy here who wants his old Note 2 back. I know a guy who had 3 motherboards replaced on his Note 2. The last one broke the screen as the phone was swollen. There's no way of knowing. Its just the luck of the draw with these things.
When you get a really good phone, keep it and use it until it disintegrates. As long as this G2 is fine, I won't part with it for anything.
And yes. This is a hardware issue.

bring it to the service center.. but you will handle the repair.. if your liable for the damage
