Help setting up POP mail... - Vibrant General

Hey guys. I'm having an issue here, and was wondering if I can get a hand here. I've set up my POP mail, and I have no issues with mail coming in, but I can't send out. Anyone know what the issue may be?
Thanks.

It could be your settings. I know on my pop email from my isp I had to add @xxxx.com to my username for it to send (login/downloading didn't need it), otherwise it wouldn't work. Maybe yours is the same?

anyone managed to get MMS working?

After ages messing with various settings i eventually realised MMS was'nt enabled on my sim.
All is now enabled and seems to be working but everyone i know who has an MMS phone either doesn't know how to work it or hasn't got it set up properly.
Would someone be so kind as to send me an MMS so i can test it out? I'll send ya one back but I've promised the wife I won't send the naughty ones so you'll have to make do with my car
My numbers 07739178234 and i'm in the UK.
Cheers
If nobody responds just send one to yourself, thats what I do! 8)
HTH
i tried that but did'nt get anything.
Do you have to check for new messages or something?
How do I set a notification for them as theres no option for this in the notification options?
Got one from ya John and recieved it fine. I sent one back, did you get it?

Help me out, strange registry entry..

Help me out please, I don't know much about windows mobile or windows in general so maybe this is a stupid question.. if so I'm sorry for posting
While I was searching the registry for a value I could maybe change to confirm the sending of an sms or email message, as I often hit "send" in the bottom of the screen by accident while still typing the message, I stumbled on this strange value.
in HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCMsgEnhance\IPC\ are four keys/folders: Calendar, Email, MMS and SMS
All are empty except for "Email" that has 5 values whereunder the value named "Email", and it's value is "[email protected]"
Now I know I never visited this forum from my phone, nor have I received email from this forum on my phone..
I run a WWE 1.48.405.2 original ROM but I did download it from the original ROM section on this site.. now I have a feeling it was cooked. but then why put the webmasters email in there. so probably not..
Can someone maybe help me explain what this means? or if you have the same ROM, maybe look in your phones what the value of that key is?
Or maybe has a solution for the send message confirmation but I guess I should make a seperate topic for that..
Any help is much appreciated!
On mine (also 1.48 ROM, downloaded from HTC support), it's my hotmail account, which is the main email address on my phone.
Curious to see what others have in theirs, or what it says directly after a hard reset.
Are you sure you've not been messing and simply typed this in somewhere?
In my standard stock ROM are all entries empty
Thanks for checkin!
I'm thinking and thinking but I can't remember typing anything like that in my phone and I only have for two weeks.. the only thing that had to do with this site was the subscription mail that is listed in my IMAP mailbox on the phone, but I'm sure I never opened it or replied to it or anything..
I guess that means you're the webmaster at xda-developers then. Shall we forward all our queries to you in future

lol! Sorry if I don't reply.. I can't get into the account..!
I did a hard reset and now it's clear.. I decided not to worry about it anymore..
I'm connected to my jobs Exchange server and on mine this registry key contains the e-mail to my employers HelpDesk. Don't know if that helps clarifying anything ...

On mine, the value is an address I really have sent to.
Thanks that confirms my thoughts.. I figured it's the last address used in the email app.. so probably I have opened the confirmation mail in the list mail and tapped reply all by accident or something..
anyone maybe has a solution for a confirmation before sending an sms or email? I sometimes tap send by accident while still typing the message.. I'd rather have it ask me if I want to send the message with a popup like it does so often with other things that don't need it.. is there a tweak for it?
I know there's a tweak for the "message sent" alert.. but that's like rubbing it in after I've sent it by accident..

Yeap it is dangerous. I just mis-sent a mail. Because the send key is the left soft key. I tap the left to go to "Inbox", and two accidental taps led to "Reply All" and "Send" done before I know what is happening.
For POP3 accounts, you can turn off "send immediately" in options advanced settings. For Exchange, seems there is nothing you can do.

CC Emails

Hey Forum!
How do I automatically cc/bcc myself in to emails that I send so I can have a record of the emails I send from my phone?
I've been searching round this forum looking for the answer but haven't found it yet! (I've probably been looking in the wrong place...)
Thanks for any help!
Does anyone know how to do this (or something similar)? I need to be able to do it to comply with our ISO stuff!
Yes, this is an important glitch in WinMo. I can't understand why this feature is missing. In the Palm world it worked very well.
Doesn't anyone know how to do it. Input something in the registry or anything.
Regards
Are you guys using Mail via an exchange Server/Active Sync? Then why not just enable the sent-folder to be synced as well or isnt that what you are looking for.
Inbox-->Menu-->Extras-->ManageFolders (or similar im not sure about the WWE translation)-->Enable the checkbox next to your Sent-Folder
Hi,
No, I'm using regular pop-mail.
Of course one can always do this manually but it would be nicer if it was set as default.

Annoying "fluff" when doing SMS-->email

I don't think this is G1-specific or even Android-specific, but I didn't know where else to post it. I think it is T-Mobile-specific.
Whenever I compose an SMS to an email address, T-Mobile wraps it in a bunch of "junk," so the email message ends up looking like this (attachment shows it as seen in Outlook).
Is there any way to disable this (via some setting at T-Mobile)?
I am trying to use a mobile interface to a site (in this case, BillMonk) and they don't have a shortcode -- they just say to text certain string to an email address. But I think their service is choking on the T-Mobile wrapper because it is expecting just a simple text string.
Can anyone help? This is really annoying.
Thanks!

i very much doubt you can change this.
Grr. Annoying.
Can other T-Mobile USA users confirm that when they send an SMS to an email address, they always get this behavior? If we can find some people that don't suffer from this, we can perhaps find out what account settings are different.

Yep happens with me.

"unable to send message" after sync

i recently lost my phone and thought all the numbers i`d aquired over the years were gone forever, to my delight when recieving my new phone and putting my email/facebook account details in, all my old numbers were synced also. but everytime i try send a message it comes up "unable to send message try again" i can call a number no probs its just the sms. if i delete the contact and put the number in manually in the phone its fine even tho it was the exact same contact number as the one which was automatically synced. anyone else have this problem and know of a fix??? i really dont wanna have to go through 100s of contacts and delete them and re-enter the names and numbers all over again.. Thanks
wow this place is like a ghost town lol. last time i was a regular on xda was when i had a HD2, that forum was a hive of activity!! not much love for the omnia7 on here lol
Might be a prefix problem? Ask your provider if they know of this issue. Also try the network app from samsung, might fix the settings.
cheers for the reply mate.. apparently its something to do with the windows live or googlemail accounts i`d read someone tested this putting in a contact through these accounts and synching you get this problem, make a contact in the phone and its fine. didnt find a fix tho.... damn!
this person is having same issue http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/wp7-wppeople/windows-live-account-synced-windows-7-contacts-sms/117e3cb3-8568-477d-974a-a6b458d16bdb?page=1&tm=1336670340518#footer
