Hi, I have an HTC touch GSM phone ( ted baker edition), my problem is that, when i have my device on and i put it in my pocket or bag or something with the Phone Locked, it automatically Powers down. I've tried hard Resetting as well as soft resetting the device but to no avail. I've also noticed that my battery doesnt last more than 2 days even if im not using it. could someone please assist me with my problem.
The Phone specs are as follows.
Rom Version: 2.20.851.1 WWE
Rom Date: 10/02/07
Radio Version: 03.07.90
Protocol Version : 4.1.13.51
ExtROM Version: 2.20.851.101
CPU: OMAP850
Speed: 201 MHz
RAM size: 128 MB
Flash size: 256MB
Data Bus: 16 bits
Storage size: 143.23 MB
Model No: ELF0200
Platform: Pocket PC
When you lock it, and don't put it in your bag, does the device still power down? Or is it all the time when locked it powers down?
In regards to the battery, you may need a new battery, or, you may have some apps running that are very battery intensive.
sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt. But its mainly when I have it in and enclosed are. Im thinking that maybe the device is over heating or something. I will replace the Battery sometime next month and have a better analysis done on it. As far as the batter goes. I havent installed any programs on the device, its at factory default state

Firstly, my Pocket PC is EATING SD Memory cards with no problem at all. Whilst copying files across the PDA crashes as the SD card is rendered useless. I have tried 3 all three have eventually been destroyed. Unreadable on a PC, at the shop etc etc...
Secondly it reboots itself every 10 mins approx... VERY FRUSTRATING! I must say that I am very excited about owning the PDA but so far, nothing but problems!!!
Anyone know about any of these??
Sounds like a software conflict or hardware problem.
Indicate hardware used (including ROM versions) and software installed pls.

I am going to update to the iMate ROM i have seen in other threads... you think that will help?
Sounds like you have a serious problem on your hands, wish I could sympathise & say I have suffered the same....but I haven't. My XDA 2i did have some minor problems (freezing up, crashing etc) nothing too drastic that a soft reset couldn't sort out. But in the end I got fed up with that method & got a replacement from O2 within a week, and so far no problems........I suggest you do the same
could it be TomTom that was causing this? I did have tomtom installed... i just put the original ROM back on it from O2 website and it hasn't crashed yet...
OK -
Since my last post I have installed the i-Mate Update on my 02 XDA 2i and it has been ok.
No more memory cards have been destroyed and the rebooting has stopped completely.
I am running it with a 512MB SD card now... this SD Card only contains my SAT NAV maps. However I ran a backup a few minutes ago and got bored half way through so I cancelled it. Now all of a sudden my SAT NAV Maps are gone completely and my SD card is empty. THis has happened twice now (randomly deletes folders on my SD card).
As far as i know I have all the updates available. Would an MMC card be better? whats the real differenc? Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Is the imate rom suitable for Asia rom ? Coz i'm from Malaysia and doubt whether it can be use on local Maxis operator or not !
right - here is an update. My last update was installing the i-mate ROM and putting in a new 512 PNY SD Card.
this worked fine for about 4 days, when suddenly lo and behold tomtom couldn't find any maps and sure enough my SD card was undetectable. I have decided that there is nothing inherintly wrong with my PDA, I have decided that cheapmemory is bad.
I have read good reports about ScanDisk memory for the XDA series. I have ordered 1GB Scandisk memory (checking the returns policy !!!! just in case).
I am going to see if this card works, if it goes wrong then i am accepting that the problem lies in my XDA, but otherwise I am blaming it on cheap memory namely PNY.
CHEAP MEMORY!
so far - I have had my ScanDisk 1GB memory in for about 3 days. Not only is it much quicker than the other memory but also it has not died yet. Looking good for scandisk!
Hi people!
Problem with the 9000th is the following:
After installing yesterday the SPB Pocket Plus 3.1.2 app my device began to hopelessly hang every time on “switch on”: white screen, collage. I’m dead tired to soft reset it each time.
And this morning something terrible happened. I found the device not breathing (both BT and cell network side diodes weren’t alight), “switch on” button didn’t react. Just after plugging to the charger the device started to load in boot safety mode. After that same hanging continued.
Yesterday night the battery was charged to 80% and this morning I found it at 2%.
I made a back-up and now ready for the operation.
Is there a clear solution for my case? Do I need to take the device to morgue (SC) or could I try to operate it in home conditions through hard-reset and installing later ROM version?
Please advise!
Thanks in advance.

It sounds like your device hung and rather than just switch off, it kept running, draining the battery.
You should definitely upgrade the ROM - it's easy to do and you can get the files from the ftp site here or from myqtek.com but I wouldn't have thought your device is broken.
Upgrading the ROM is really easy but will wipe your device so I hope you had your info sync'd!
Either way, everyone on here can usually sort any woes you may have
Oh, and welcome, btw
Lordsmiff.
Thanks for a valuable advice.
Ok, I will consider an upgrade, though people at our domestic qtek-mobile forum do not advise to upgrade the ROM saying that in many cases of upgrading to 1.30.70 from AKU2 the device died completely.
Syncing is another issue but not for this time
And thanks for a warm welcome
Nik
OK Nik got your problem last week even after the rom update. Basically I was never able to run properly Spb Pckt + on my qtek 9000.
I thus decided to use Ilauncher for a while and now definitely turned to Resco Today Plugin whic is the most proficient task manager, even though it is poor in options and aesthetics. I made that choice combining it with magic button to close apps and I'm pretty set.
Moreover, Resco saves 45% more memory than any other launcher......
Now you now...
Cheers
T
I hope someone here can help me...
I've noticed a recent quirk about my Wizard that I can't seem to get to the root of. Whenever my phone is opened (keyboard extended), The touch screen refuses to respond...I might be able to use it like once in 10 uses, but for the most part, when the keyboard is out, the touchscreen doesn't work.
Now I thought it was a loose connection, so I took the phone apart and checked (and double checked) every connection between the main board and the LCM, they all appear solid. However, upon rebuilding the phone and booting it up, I found that the touch screen still refuses to work in the keyboard-out position...
Although not a deal breaker (my Wizard is still extremely usable and I love this phone), it is an annoyance I'd like to fix...
If it helps, This is the ROM info for the phone in question:
Windows Mobile 6.1 (Build 19213.1.0.4) TNT
Rom Version: 11.0.3.0 WWE (again, a TNT build)
Radio Version: 2.19.11
ExtROM version: TNT Series by it's right
IPL : 2.21.0001
SPL: 2.21.Olip
I don't think changing ROMs will work, as this looks like a hardware problem to me. So, is there help to be had, or am I doomed to a touchless keyboard experience?
if you use a script/program to rotate the screen without the keyboard pulled out does the touchscreen still disable? If so it's more than likely a problem with the screen and not a cable/connection (although i would DEFINITELY reflash the same/a different rom as a test before I bought/installed a new screen).
Ah - thats what I forgot to mention.
I do have a script installed to induce landscape mode without the keyboard, and in such a configuration the touchscreen does in fact still work. It is only when the keyboard is out that the touchscreen refuses to work.
I've been meaning to upgrade to the newest TNT Rom, but haven't due to time/life constraints, but I'll make the preparations to upload a new rom and see if that fixes the problem...who knows, I'd prefer a cheap but ambiguous answer to an expensive but simple answer...
Hi there, I have joined this Forum as I have spent the last week reading through heaps of threads, and while I have learnt a bit, I am at a point where I need some help.
I got a HTC T-Mobile HD2 for less than half price with the intention of running Android OS. I got it for this price as it has the freezing issues. I don't think it is in warranty and the box and CD didn't come with it.
I think it must be a US T-Mobile, as it has the Coming Together screen when it is turned on. Most of the time, that is all it gets to. It has a green talk button and red off button. The resets do nothing.
I have read that these phones are often returned to HTC as they are defective, they get hot and don't work. The one I got doesn't get hot. When it does boot up, it has Transformers and Transformers2 loaded into the memory. It will play but after a short time it goes black and resets.
Does this phone seem repairable? If so, please tell me where to start as I have been totally confused here.
Here is some of the details I got off it when it was booted up.

98% of the time it's the software. Flash a new STOCK rom and see if the problem persists.
98% hardware problem, not software.
Okay will flash a new stock ram, as I have nothing to lose here. Back to searching on how to achieve this!

That's quite helpful, isn't it?
My expieriences vary from StarScreamX's ones. Indeed it might be a good idea to flash the stock rom which was made for your HD2. Back in the days of WM 6.5 it solved some weird problems permanently. You might even reflash your original HSPL, only to flash the fitting version again. I repeated those steps several times, just to wipe out eventually made errors.
The other point is, that some errors occur because of certain hardware-combinations, not because of the components themselves. It might be the SD-Card or even the way you formatted it. Best expieriences I've made with using Fat32 64kb cluster size. Seemed to speed up the whole OS.
My last suggestion is to try several builds. Android can be far different from Android. For examle Sense, ADW, MIUI are all pretty good, but have their own advantages. While I first refused MIUI for its similiarities to iOS, I stuck with it before I switched to WP7 some Weeks ago.
Try the builds and take your time, there certainly is one, that runs great on YOUR hardware.
Anyway, Good Luck!

I think it might be a hardware issue my Hd2 has the same issues & I jst finished restorting it back to stock so i cld snd for repair. Once its stock SPL, original ROM try running it with out an SD card, try running w/out SIM card & if you still have issued most likely ur stuck w a bad HD2
After heaps of searching and learning, interesting and rewarding when you put some effort into it, I loaded a stock ROM, removed the SD card, hard reset, it made no difference to the freezing and booting up issues.
If left for about 10 minutes the Stick Together screen got these numbers at the bottom, then it would boot up...sometimes but it always reset itself after looking intothe menu and then it would not reboot.
So I did more reading, and with my confidence up after achieving my first stock ROM flash, I thought I would try ANDROID.
I used the TUT Flashing your first ROM on Leo 1024 thread. Installed the HPSL 1.11, successfully.
Then I installed the MAGLDR program.
Then I installed the ROM - [TMOUS][LEO1024][DFT/CWM]CMYLXGO's Stock Desire HD(2)[KERNEL:MDJ 10.4OC] which seems to be the most 1024 friendly and least taxing ROM on the CPU.
It worked so far. I did the Root task as explained, although I dunno if I was needed to. But at least the phone boots up for more than 3 minutes. I give it a Hard Reset and it is now on charge.
It will not boot up if it crashes, have to wait. Maybe this will settle down after a while.
Anyhow, I love this ROM, it has made the phone SO FAST it is incredible. That is until it crashes. I LOVE the HTC HD2 phone, it is just awesome.
i dunno what to do, stick with this perhaps suspect dodgey phone, that could let me down at the most inconvienent time. What I will do is give it a chance today, after charging. It is a really hot day here, over 120F so if handles that it will handle anything. If it fails, I notice that Ebay have free insetion fees this Weekend, and I may get rid of it and let someone else have a turn at it, and just get one that is not a bad one.
Anyhow sorry for boring all the experts with my phone problems, I did try my hardest to search and learn it myself, and this is a great forum, and I am gonna keep at this with this phone now or my next one. These Custom ROM's are just awesome.
I'm glad you're finally enjoying it.
Just remember, the way you use/abuse your phone could have an adverse effect on its condition. If it gets too hot:
--try to see if you have programs running in the background.
--don't use a case if you're watching a 2hr movie through SD card (really, how's that heat going to escape?)
--watch wifi usage
--leave the phone in a well-ventilated space
...things of that nature, etc.
I'm not saying there's no such thing as hardware issue, but symptoms like those are a lot more clear-cut than a phone overheating and restarting.
In my case I'm confident its hardware related. I had mine and my wife's phones loaded with the same ROM. My phone continues to die in my hands while hers hums along with no problems at all.
Hi!
I am having the following problems with my Asus P535 device:
1 - It is very very slow when opening some programs
(no rules here, just might happen to any program; it can take 15-30 seconds to open some of them)
2 - Contacts from the SIM card not visible - instead of each contact there is just written Untitled"
(the contacts from the same SIM card are perfectly visible on other phones)
3 - The InterkeyPPC keyboard does not work - sometimes when i press a (virtual) button it doesn't want to release it and the device freezes.
That is the main reason of forced restart of the device. The same problem does not occur with the original system keyboard (is not the WinMobile one but a ROM specific.)
Prior to this the device worked perfectly without any problems for about 4 months. There was no any recent software change. Just it became extremely hot in the place where i live. The device has been opened and cleaned before that.
My ROM specifications:
Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro
Rom date: 2009/5/15
Version: RUS_by_Pak1t0
Radio version: 4.8.0
About: OC CE 5.2.21046
Build 21046.1.6.3
What do you suggest me to do, any hint on the cause of all these problems?
Thank you very much.
