Sorry if this has been asked and answered already but I didn't find anything doing a search.
Is there any copy protection on the X10a MicroSD card or can I just copy the contents to a new 32G card and off I go?
Thanks, I

There's no copy protection. You just copy the software across and you'll be good to go.

All you needed to do was to try it! Anyways, go ahead... there is no copy protection. Just take a dump of the old SD card on your PC and copy it back on to the new SD card.
Thanks for the quick response guys.
j4mm3r: Yup, could have tried it but the thought just came to me and I don't have an 32G with me at the moment ... I did have a keyboard though
Thanks again, I

I just got a new microsd card, and I already have a 2gb one which came with the HD2.
Can I move everything from the 2gb card to the new one ?
I know images and videos will be moved with no problems, but what about the applications stored in the 2gb card, will they work ??

Yes mate - just copy it all across and it will work. Do it on your PC. I just copied my old card to a folder on the desktop and then copied that back to the new card. If you've got a seperate card reader then you can just copy from card to card. Either way, it's not an issue.
Thanks I just wanted to make sure before doing so.
Yeah I have a spare reader somewhere around I think, well thanks for your reply !!

Yes, You can move everything from your 2GB card to the new one. No any problem.
Thanks for reassuring me
Using the phones file explorer. I moved it to the system 16g (took a while), then put in my 8 gig and moved it to the root of the sd card.....
Ive just heard people not able to and dont know if anyone else got it...
If so mods Please delete... I tried searching but its being wack.
I used Ubuntu to copy it from the 2gb card to my 4gb card and I can still play the movie on mine, no problem.
I moved it to an 8gb card with windows. just copy it on to a pc then the destination card
Yea, it works fine to move it around. Just make sure to move the whole "Movie" folder if you want the shortcut to keep working.

that should work fine
First, backup everything from existing card. then format new card thru pc. then install card to phone and reformat on the phone itself and reboot. once that's done, transfer back all your files to new card. all will be good. Android need to format cards thru their OS. when you reboot you'll see folders on your new card that got installed from the format and reboot of OS.
Maybe a silly question.
I just got a nice 8GB microSDHC card.
Is there anything I need to do before or after I put it in where the current card is?
I would just copy your files to your computer. Put the new sd card in your phone and let it prepare it for you then copy all your files over to the new sd card.

Copy all the files?? I was afraid of that.
If you want everything to work as it should, yes you need to copy ALL files from the old card to the new one. You certainly dont have to, but whatever you dont copy wont work when you put the new card in.
I want to put a bigger sd card in my evo 4G. Gingerbread and CM 7 are on the sd card I have now. Do I just copy the files to my computer then transfer them to the new sd card b4 putting that new card in the phone?

Yes you do.
Will this be the same on the DInc? I am going to put a larger card to avoid the "Not enough space..." messages and wondered if I needed to format the new card in the phone.
