I just got a new microsd card, and I already have a 2gb one which came with the HD2.
Can I move everything from the 2gb card to the new one ?
I know images and videos will be moved with no problems, but what about the applications stored in the 2gb card, will they work ??

Yes mate - just copy it all across and it will work. Do it on your PC. I just copied my old card to a folder on the desktop and then copied that back to the new card. If you've got a seperate card reader then you can just copy from card to card. Either way, it's not an issue.
Thanks I just wanted to make sure before doing so.
Yeah I have a spare reader somewhere around I think, well thanks for your reply !!

Hi,
When I want to erase or copy or create file on my card (Sandisk Micro SDHC 8GB) nothing happens. It's like read only.
I can only read files that are created before this problem.

I had a similar problem with a Sandisk Micro SDHC 16GB. It was very strange, I could copy files onto the card, delete files from the card; but, when I removed and re-inserted the card, the deleted files reappeared and the copied files disappeared. Formatting the card only gave an error like “The card is write protected” and the format failed. In my case, I was told the card was corrupt. The card was about a few weeks old when this happened. I could not even send the card back to the shop because I could not remove my personal and sensitive data from the card. In the end, I took the hit and bought a new Sandisk Micro SDHC 16GB. The new card has been working perfectly for a couple of months now (fingers crossed).
Sorry, I do not have a solution for you; only my story.

English is not my native language, so you explained my problem much exact and detailed...thx.
Hi all,
Just got a new 8GB mem card. Had my HD2 for a couple of weeks now, so got a few things on the old 2GB card. Whats the best way to go about installing the new one and getting everything from the old to new card?
Cheers.
Simply copy and paste everything from the old one to the new one...
I usually copy everything to my pc, format my old card and put the backup onto my new card.
You can try it otherwise as well:
Leave the 2 gig card in your phone and connect it via the data connection (not active sync because it's faster)
Then put ur 8 gig card into your pc by using the adabter supplied (came with the 2 gig card with your leo)
and copy the files directly to the new card.
Leave the whole structure as it is and you won't have any problems

Cool thanks, I'll give that a go in the morning when I can.
Using the phones file explorer. I moved it to the system 16g (took a while), then put in my 8 gig and moved it to the root of the sd card.....
Ive just heard people not able to and dont know if anyone else got it...
If so mods Please delete... I tried searching but its being wack.
I used Ubuntu to copy it from the 2gb card to my 4gb card and I can still play the movie on mine, no problem.
I moved it to an 8gb card with windows. just copy it on to a pc then the destination card
Yea, it works fine to move it around. Just make sure to move the whole "Movie" folder if you want the shortcut to keep working.

Exactly!....
Sorry, but another basic question which I've searched for the answer but can't find an answer that makes sense to me.
I have an x8 running on Gingerdx v010. Runs great.
I have just been given a 8gb Micro SD Card, Class 10.
What's the best way to go about swapping the stock sd card with this new one - do i just copy and paste all off the old sd card onto my desktop, and then copy all that back to the new sd card?
Or do I need to partition the card in any special way?
I'm a beginner at this, so please don't get too technical!
I'd like to put some music on the new card, and I reckon i've got a few GB of albums etc to put on it. also, will probably try to put as much as possible on it to make sure there's plenty of available RAM in the internal memory.
Thanks in anticipation of your help.
This is a really useful site - glad I found it.

bump... anyone?
Backup copy/move all the files in old sdcard to PC. Insert your new sdcard and boot, enter CWM>advanced option>partition sdcard>select 512mb>then zero swap. reboot. Then copy/move ur files to new sdcard You can also partition using windows You just need partition if you are installing many apps like me
Partitioning is not required, just copy data over from old card to new card.
[Q] Move apps & files from full 64 GB microSD card to 128 GB card without corruption?
I filled up my 64 GB card with apps and files and so want to move to a 128 GB card. However, I've seen many cases of files being corrupt or cards being unreadable/unmountable after using a (Windows) PC for the transfer. What's the proper route to do it for the S5 without those problems?

you need to back up everything on your 64gb sd to your pc then before you put the 128gb card in your pc put it in your phone and format the card so you know its working on your device then after that put your 128gb micro sd into your pc and copy all the files over that you had backed up from your 64gb memory card, and know this works because ive done it.
