I am a Xperia X1 user and am looking for a good android phone, which I have narrowed down to a Desire or a SGS.
I really like the added benefits of the SGS (Better Screen, 8GB internal memory, HD Video), but cannot deny the fact that the UI on the Desire (Sense) is much better than the Samsung setup….
What are your opinions on the standard system?
The reason why I am asking here is that you all will generally have experience with Sense, which all of the custom ROMs for my xperia has been brilliant over the past 18months (kept it alive).
I notice that the SGS XDA portal, has a lot less posts than the HTC Desire forum, but I am hoping that this is due to the fact that the Desire has been out longer than the Samsung.
I am due to upgrade my phone in 10 days so need to figure out which way to go.
All opinions are welcome!
When I purchase this phone my thought was:
1. UI and software can be update and modified, hardwares are fixed.
2. Communities and 3rd party supports for this phone, which are great right now.
These are enough for me.

I've had an iPhone 3G and a 3GS. Sold the 3GS a month ago to buy the iPhone 4. Due to every shop being out of stock on these babys, I decided to give Android a chance.
I nearly bought the Xperia X10 but in some shop they had a Galaxy S Demo Unit. I grabbed it and fell in love with it. It's so light-weight compared to other smartphones!
When I went home with it, I read some footage about it on engadget, gizmodo, etc. I didn't know it was the strongest Android phone at this time. I was very surprised and even more in love!
The screen is a blast.
I was in the same situation, though I was coming from a WinMo handset. I'm so happy with my choice, I know a few nexus one and desire owners who are now wanting a SCS - which says a lot.
My last phone was an HD2 with WinMo 6.5.5 wich have a wunderful community (Android development very fast).
But the Samsung i9000 is a nice Phone, with a wunderful screen, and 720p videoplayback and recording. And of corse, Android.
(Faster than HD2 [thanks Android], more Apps, 720p rec/play, etc...)
Thanks very much for the feedback guys... its good to get opionions of Win Mo users switching, as most reviews I have read on the internet is based on prev Iphone users (who's opinions I do not value).
Are you guys mostly using the stock SGS software, or running custom roms?

Do you prefer this phone to your HD2? The HD2 was a great phone (as was the TyTn II)!
I am using factory's rom with a little bit of addition: rooting + auto killer to manage memories.
From an Omnia i900 winmo. 6.5.5 user, I have no lags problem on this phone.
Well, how about the opinion of a user switching between iPhone 3GS, Symbian s60v3 and v5, WinMo6, 6.1, and 6.5 and Android 1.5, 1.6, and 2.1 phones, in order to find my perfect suite?!? Actually my last/previous phone was Vivaz PRO
It is really the best phone that i laid my hands on up to now.
Hardware-wise, unbelievable super AMOLED multi-touch screen, fantastic HD video camera, super-fast CPU, a lot of RAM, 8GB internal memory and VERY VERY light! (OK, I miss the LED flash, but I can live with that).
Software-wise, I believe, after a lot of experience with multiple OSs, that Android is the future (at least for the next couple of years). Very smooth OS, open to do everything you wish (root, custom firmware, install pirate soft, etc) easily, and VERY FAST GROWING/UPDATING (compared with WinMo and symbian, that feel a bit ancient by now).
Go for it bro! You wont regret!
Just sold mine galaxy s on ebay.. and for a very good price I am so happy now
If you are like me and use gps navigation a lot, simply run away from this phone.
I am now back to my HD2 (so happy I did not sell it). No navigation software can compare with tom tom.
All in all galaxy s has:
Superb screen:
HD video recording
And that is about it….
The gps is rubbish, don’t listen to the people telling you that they fixed it…
All “fixes” are just to provide fast network location fix (which in most cases is inaccurate)
With my HD2 it does not matter how cloudy it is, and how tall are the buildings around me,
I have GPS fix in 3-5sec and I MEAN GPS FIX, not network location fix.
SO I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE I AM.
2 days ago I was in central London and tried to find the closest tesco with google maps…
After 5min I just gave up… galaxy s simply could not do it
With HD2 things like that takes 10 to 20 sec (including typing tesco in the search bar)
I am also very disappointed with the android OS,
This thing does not even support external gps… we had that in winmo 10 years ago…
It has all sorts of problems, for example application starting on the background (consuming data) and there is simply no way for the user to control that.
One more thing the internal memory card is very very very slow and this slows down the devise a lot. Sure people will tell you about the sd card fix but REALLYYYY… should I start fixing the Samsung rubbish? No thanks, will stay away from Samsung and android for another 2 years (at least)
same here i always purchase my smartphones by the hardware spec, and the amount of Forums/groups available for it.
unfortunately the HTC Athena was flawed, the device itself is amazingly great, howerver support for it was low.
SGS i9000 on the other hand has a very lively group just like HTC Desire

mitko76 Good luck doing anything with GPS in central London...Buildings have this horrible side effect on ALL GPS systems.
Google maps is easily the best Search for phone, but not the greatest GPS, since is need a Connection to work if you deviate from the rout too much.
I've had this phone for w eek now and it is a great phone, there are a few niggles in the software, but believe me way less than stock windows mobile 6.5.
The screen isn;t as crisp as people would have you believe, White text on a dark background gives you a red effect around text and text Isn;t smooth, no where near the Iphone 4 IMO, however the contrast and colours are superb.
Give it a go if your on contract you have 7 days to return it.
Logicalstep
As a x1 user who has just upgraded to a Galaxy S a week past i can say that it is definetly worth it.
I did own a Desire for a day when i got it on contract but i didn't get coverage for the network in my area.
I find the Galaxy S to be a nicer looking phone, screen looks a lot brighter and better. Sound quality from the speaker is better and the UI also seems much faster.
It's a great phone, no questions asked, but you have to realize that it needs some work (like the fixes and all) and customization.
I'm using the imfamous JF3 stock rom and i do notice some lags and battery drain (but I use it very heavily, frequent syncs and updates, tons of widgets and all that) so i'm gonna switch over to the better ones.
I come from the Omnia II wich was a great phone but very poorly supported by samsung and the community. This isn't the case at all for the SGS. I used to have sense on my device, big fan of sense, but i like the SGS homescreen as well with the different pannels, really like it. Touchwizz is sort of a love/hate relationship
I'm loving android so far, even though i don't understand everything, i'm sure i could enhance my phone a lot.
hope this helps

Logicalstep, that is what I am trying to explain .. I DO NOT NEED “Good Luck” when using my hd2’s gps in central London, it simply work. I work in central London so trust me, I know what I am talking about.
If you are coming from a phone with poor gps I can understand your point, but hd2 simply has a proper gps unit in it and it is working no matter where I am. With HD2 I can even get gps lock in the train (10 sec), tried this with galaxy s and guess what... it FAILED (after 10min).
You can keep convincing yourself that the buildings are high, the sky is cloudy or God knows what ..
But the simple truth is the gps is rubbish.
Keep waiting for the NEXT firmware to fix the issues, and when it failed keep waiting for the next one and so on....
Mitko please do us a favour and leave the forum, we know that you sold your Galaxy S, and frankly its quite boring to see you posting on every thread and preaching slander. The GPS does take a short while to position (about 30-40 secs) but after that it works perfectly for me. I have used it on several occasions when lost in central London.
Since last December I've owned the following handsets: N900, HD2, Desire, X10, Galaxy S.
Of all of these the Galaxy S is my favorite, followed very closely by the HD2.

Coming from you that is high praise indeed.
Loving my SGS, no way am I going back to Symbian.
On my side I am coming from winmo6.5 and then iphone3GS
if i had an advice to give you in order to choose between the desire and the samsung it would be to know that :
* you won't have HTC sense on samsung ... I mean really nothing comparable.
* there is almost no button on the samsung .No trackball ( painfull for selection) no LED ... and it's quite annoying some time
Yes when I compare both with my colleague , mine has a better screen ( bigger , brighter) but it will worth it if you watch a lot of video or look at a lot of picture. If it's just to have more beautifull icon ... you will forget it looks better after few weeks
I am still a little bit uncertain about the GPS ... I need to do more tests and to check the settings I could enhance but it can't be compared to my TomTom ( on both winmo and iphone)
Hopefully there will be soon a real fix for the slowness of the SD card ... hopefully ...
Thanks guys, this is brilliant information!
I used the phone briefly in a phone shop yesterday, and I have to say that it looks very impressive! Especially compared to my x1 running Windows 6.5.3. The only first negative impression that I had was how cheap and flimsy the back cover was...but I hey, I know no phone will be perfect.
When my contract is up next week, and I am going to go for the SGS and as Logicalstep has commented I have 7 days to return it if unhappy.
I really appreciate the feedback, as it has made me allot more comfortable with going for the SGS.

I'm sure you will enjoy it
And honestly i agree about the cheap looking back but honestly that's why it is so light and you forget about this quickly.
Especially if you add a case ( you have some very thin one)
ok guy's and gal's ,just want some good feedback on this phone.i used to have the g1 when it first came out ,had it for a while .up till about 6 mth's ago .then i sold it got a touch pro 2 .i love android but after the stuff with google pulled on Cyan .wasn't sure were all this was going.but know been looking to get back in .with the power and memory look's like partitioning the memory card will be no more .i know you can have root on this one to and it just came out ! so let me know on this phone what ya think.i read about battery life thread but that seem's to be the first place everyone go's to.i want to now how you like it for everyday use and if you are rooted it or not .thank' s for the imput.
Short answer...love it....can't think of a better device...wish the gps/compass was fixed sooner rather than later though...
I did root it as soon as I read the instructions via adb...glad to have wireless tether running and glad I don't have to worry about partitioning the sd card or having swap etc..
I think we all complain about some of the things on the phone but I mean what phone doesn't have its share of complaints? I think the general consensus is that most people love it =)
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
very good to here !ya what phone don't have complaint's lol well keep it coming thank's everone.
I'm rooted and absolutely love this phone.. I have no GPS problems and get locks fast... the screen is beautiful and amazes people everytime they see it. The camera is pretty good for me as its just a phone camera but takes awesome shots. The night mode kinda makes up for the lack of camera flash but once again no biggie. The compass is wack but whatever I don't use it. ..
The 720 p recording is awesome and takes great videos I was impressed.
The games are insane on this thing. The 3d graphics on this super amoled screen is just amazing, I actually play games now one my phone.. the screen is super responsive and the Multitouch is flawless vs the nexus one (came from it)..
All in all I love this. Oh I also get no slow downs either... and the memory is awesome no need for apps2sd or ever check my memory... fantastic phone way better than my old n1 IMO...
Best phone I've ever used/owned.
thank's everyone i think i'm sold.going to have to get one !well let's keep this thread going for all !
I absolutely love mine. Had it since launch. i used my gps for the first time two days ago and it worked fine for the most part. Im also unrooted at the moment. I also came from a g1 so from me to you, it's a good choice to go with.
Loving mine so far. My GPS takes a bit to lock on sometimes but its usually only after google maps crashes and locks up the phone. A manual restart usually solves it and I get a quick lock.
Screen is beautiful, responsive and just the right size. The phone is light and thin which I like and battery life has been getting better for me. With my latest cycle, light use mind you, i'm at almost 23 hours since charge and im at 58% battery left using Juice Defender.
This phone gets my recommendation.
If you want to use Layar, Google Sky Map, Wikitude, or any other Augmented Reality app, prepare to be disappointed. The compass problem really sodomizes all those apps' ability to know which way you're facing. It was so bad I returned mine before my 14 day remorse period was up. If they manage to fix it in software, I might get a new one, but it remains to be seen whether their fix will be adequate.
It took a lot to get the G1 out of my hands but this phone is just so much better in terms of performance, stability and usability. It does take a day or so to get used to the different feel and button placement but other than that - I would say go for it!
Pros:
CPU/GPU
Camera
Performance speed
16gb on board and still room for a SD card
screen
weight
thinness
Android
Cons:
GPS/Compass (lets hope they fix it)
No flash on camera
Cheap build quality (volume button is flimsy)
plastic feel kinda cheap
old iphone like design
Touchwiz
Samsungs future support is questionable.
Overall its a great phone with great hardware especially if you are on Tmobile. If you can look past the cheap design and the GPS issues that might be fixed in the future then you will enjoy the phone. If you want a higher quality feeling phone and solid support I would hold for a HTC phone.
I bought the phone and generally happy with it I just hope all the kinks are worked out.
thank's again everyone ,hope this will help others if they are wondering about it to !
i was thinking of getting the sensation but after many complaints of users from the same problems that is going to annoy me like touch screen unresponsive - lag - lock screen problems - bad software by htc
so i m now thinking to get the SG2
but i need the phone for the following reasons :-
1- fast speed and fast performance "no lag at all"
2- games play well on it
3- average battery life
4- good camera
5- sound quality
6- optimized stock software "very important"
and after a small tour in sg2 forums i found some issues people annoyed from it and it is not easy to be ignored
1- many talks about battery issue while some has good battery life and it has resolved ??? Q
2- pink spot on camera ..... does it appear while taking the photo in camera app only or in the taken photo or recorded video ???
3- i was surprised when i saw a complaint of some lag in games ???
4- a small lag for 2 sec after moving the immage of unlocking screen ??
these are 4 issues i want to be sure about and then i can get the phone
Im on my second SGS2 since the first was stolen after 3 weeks.. all i can say this phone is the best smartphone that exists. However only an idiot would go with touchwiz. That **** is so outdated and ugly, i almost puked when i first got the phone.
Here is what you need to go through if you want to make SGS2 the most awesome phone there is (takes about 20 mins and no rooting is required):
-install GO launcher
-install HD live wallpaper for GO launcher
-install GO SMS
-install GO contacts
-install Widgetlocker
-tweak GO launcher to look how you like
There is absolutely no lag, but there was some with touchwiz since the phone comes loaded with 100 widgets on and Touch**** is very unoptimized still.
All of the above apps are free and updated very very frequently
Games play very well on it (lol it has power like no other).
Camera is very good, not the best, but one of the best in the android world.
Sound is better than good although not the best but almost.
Like i said, i had one for 3 weeks, it got stolen and i bought a new one straight away. Didn't even consider anything else. Nothing comes close to SGS2!
Edit * overall it's the best phone. Nokia might have better cameras but the software is laughable. IOS is stupidly closed and you can't make it really work how you want (customization). SGS2 is the best of Android phones by far!
Hi, you are always always going to find problems with which ever phone you go with, sometimes to you can do too much research. This phone is bloody fantastic, I love everything about it. It kicks the crap out of pretty much everything I thow at it, videos, games apps. Battery life isnt fantastic but what to you expect for a dual core CPU running a 1.2 gig, this is laptop territory.
Most vendors will give you a week, to two week grace on your purchase, get it try it, thats by far the best option.
I came from a HD2, wasn't sure how much of an upgrade it was going to be, I also thought I'd miss the sheer number of ROMS available on the HD2. This phone is in a different league to most other on the market and there are now loads of cooked ROMS to choose from. Got mine Free for £25/month, haven't looked back.

and so what about battery issue ??? with moderate and heavy use how long does it works ??
and pink spot ..... this spot appear on the recorded video or taken pic ???
There is no pink spot. There was no pink spot on the first SGS2 and not on this second one either. If there is you can take it back and demand a new one immediately.
The battery of my first one lasted maximum of 2 days and some hours.. i can't remember exactly. The second one lasted the same until yesterday when i installed some apps that made something go wrong and it only lasted 5 hours and that was on the night when i didnt even touch the phone. I think some process was left running since i saw from the report that system took 75% of battery by itself at night. I think the app was theft aware 2 (it hides itself as system app so thief's don't delete it). I post this info so that people realize that battery drain is mostly caused by apps from the market.
TL;DR: battery lasts 2 days - 1 day heavy use
believe me ,you're as right as your complain but not so perfect not having it.
it is the best smart phone out there now, am not a sales rep neither do i want to convince you but nothing come so close to perfect in the phone world than the sgs2.
all phones got there one problem or the other but you will surely enjoy this one.........read alot about this and that on the forum also till i got mine and wasn't having those problem, dont ask me what i did to my phone cos i did nothing, just download batiste rom and love it .go for it i advice but let the choice be yours
ok thanks guys
but another Q .... about build quality and heat generation
the outer layer of the body of the phone is easy to be removed by scratches or it is fine and durable ?? this is a major factor that makes me toward sensation first
and what about heat generation is it a related to battery drain and solved or not ??
and does the heat affect the device ??? or it is in the normal range
i know it is normal to phone to get hot when charging or using gps or other hard work but my Q is the generated heat is tooo high that annoy or not ??

Try Samsungdive - doesn't eat the battery and it's built in!
Well, I started off thinking the SGS2 was not for me, then it grew on me, probably Android more than the phone.
Battery life started off pretty bad, but once you sort of a few things like the AP news widget that drains and uses data, etc...Also my battery lasts and charges faster each day, I guess the battery takes a while to get to its optimum, at first I was struggling with the battery life, now I am as happy as I was with my Iphone4.
Games don't lag at all, well at least not for me, I have now rooted mine so as I can use the chainfire 3D drivers to be able to play Tegra games, which run very smoothly indeed, just wish there were more games, but then that's not the devices fault.
I quite like TouchWiz, works well for me, but now I have just read about this Go UI thingy, I might try it out. Something I am finding more and more each day is how terribly addictive playing about with your Widgets and homescreens is, so much to play with and again, not had any lag whatsoever.
The camera is brilliant, much better then the old Iphone4's faster, clearer, quicker to autofocus, can't work out where this pink stuff is though, my photos seem fine.
Music, I use the built in player make sure 5.1 is set and download free Equalizer from the market, simply perfect sounds.
Another thing that I have not found as well is this wake up lag, perhaps I am so used to the slower performing Iphone 4 that I just don't notice these things.
If you want more imaginative and creative games and applications Android is not for you (but its getting there), go the route of Iphone4.
But if you want a super fast, stable, freedom to do what you like, OK games and Apps, general brilliant allround device, the SGS2 is for you.

Build quality - IMO : It's very good, there was a video on youtube showing the outer layer being really stretched and it was still like stock after the stretch. And it's anti-stratch(idk how to say), I got no scratch.
Heat generation, while charging it can get very hot, and maybe it get hots sometimes while playing, but I have the feeling it's gone after some times, or you get used to it. It's really bearable.
Battery drain is, for me, solved in XXKG1. Though I can get only 4 hours screen-on time(that's enough for me) with auto-brightness(3 approx. with max brightness), the phone can last a day and a half for me.
I think all smartphone have battery drain problem.
For me... in standby mode 2 days (received some calls)
and 6-8 hours maybe less for heavy use (games+wifi+gps)
but you can use Power saving mode function to save your battery life.
I got the problem about pink spot on my camera but someone said it will be fixed when new rom available.
"a small lag for 2 sec after moving the immage of unlocking screen" - I saw new 2.3.4 has fix this problem.

Dive dies when you change sim. I had Dive installed on stolen SGS2 and all it did was say "SIM card has changed" and it didn't give the new phone number of the thief's or nothing. SamsungDive is useless.
Theft Aware still works after Sim change and is way way better in functions.. im not ready to uninstall it yet, but hope to find that the drain is caused by something else.

1- this phone is lag free even on stock TW4. But Launcher Pro Plus is one of teh best alternative launchers for people that liek to change. And LPP won't affect your battery at all
2- I don't game but it is supposed to be one of the best gaming phones. Phone compatibility shouldn't be an issue as it is one of the top selling android phones
3- Battery life is great compared to most smartphones. It will also depend on your use of it. Most phones will be behind it though with such a screen.
4- Camera is one of the best on smartphones. But, of course, don't expect such a small lens to give you something even near to a DSLR or even a high end compact digital, ok!!
5- Sound quality: just like for point 4: don't expect it to replace dedicated hardware for music amateurs (not the RnB deaf generations )
6- I used it all the way on KE2 and since few days official KF3. Stay official and you'll have less issues if you like stock

1- Just select apps you need and don't install every freeware you see just to "consume" apps. Limit auto updating apps, limit auto-starting apps, avoid live widgets and limit most widgets. Just general good sense rules like with any OS in the world.
2- People saying they don't have the issue just don't know how to reproduce it. Yes, it has it, like the SGS1 I tested and many other smartphones. It will appear under some special circumstances. As I said, it's a very small lens and will have some limits under many circumstances, like it is with any lens if you know a little about photography. The spot won't ever bother you most of the times.
3- See my answer above about games.
4- This issue is absent. Most people in forums install any thing on their phone and then complain...
any one have dust under screen ???
it is one of the facts that makes me stop thinking of the sensation
Guys..how about the banding issue..? has the banding issue been addressed by the latest software upgrades? or does angry birds, the battery charging meter and live wallpapers still exhibit banding?
No banding, no dust under screen. I dunno how you could even fit any dust under screen, it's not like iphone 3gs with 5mm between screen and glass. I only had the previous for 3 weeks though and this one is about a week old now.
:O the banding issue has been rectified? could you post a pic of the charging screen or angry birds if possible?

Hello guys, well atm i have samsung galaxy ace and today a friend gave me offer for exchange with x5. Should i exchange? For me galaxy ace is good but few things really create problems e.g low ram,200mb internal memory, processor 800mhz but cant be oc and no good roms available. So i need some advice here.
Also i had some questions. How is the touch screen of x5? Battery life? (my ace only lasts 10 hours :-\ ) any other major cons?
Thanx for your time
P.S - how do i confirm his device is u8800 and not u8800H?
Hello!
The X5 is great (for its price), with the default ROM it runs ok, no glitches and lags. I tried ADW and other launchers but due to the lack of gpu acceleration I wasn't impressed (maybe with overclock...). The battery life is pretty good (with heavy usage wifi, some gps, rss, browser, music, some gaming I get at 20% until night).
The screen is pretty good, I've got it for some time now and without a screen protector I don't have any visible scratches.
The only cons on stock rom are the preinstalled apps and I hate the touch keys (home, back etc) I accidentally touch them a lot.
Also no front facing camera (if you really care).
I don't think there is any significant difference in the "H" version
go for it!
For me it's very good bargain cause he/she saved you from your mistake.
3 of my friends use ace and they want to snatch x5 from my hand everytine they saw it. X5 wins every sector except for the brand name. People still believe on brand name
Sent from my u8800 using XDA App

Band name has some Pros when it comes to comes to service and peripherals (docking stations, headsets etc...), thank god all phones use the same USB port for charging...
Other than that I wouldn't spent more than 50$ for a same spec brand VS a non-well-known-brand phone.

Well x5 battery life also is **** if you are using it. It takes 2% of battery per 7minutes sms writting. 5% of battery for 25minutes 175mb size video playing with lowest brightness.
Stock rom is absolutely ****!!! mine was so **** that it took 50% of battery per 20minutes and it was lagging! so you must upgrade to 2.3 custom rom for best berformance. Talk to friend with phone and listen is his phone do not have bad sound quality when he talks from his x5 - then x5 is better. BTW x5 uses 353MB of ram not 512MB.
128 is reserved for gpu tommi.
500 minutes of video playing! that's amazing.

Yes i know that, but it's not used for programs and performance but reserved for GPU but when we do not use any hardcore gpu game it's sad that we must sacrifice our 128MB of ram for it Anyway what about the video playback time i last night watched futurama and it took ~5% of battery life on minimal light and everything was turned off, but this doesn't mean that if we play continually video it will run 500 minutes
it is used for everything the screen displays.
you should know that that android "uses" the first 10% lightning fast and that the second 50% last a lot longer than first 50%. anyway battery life is standard if not a little better than other high spec android phones (excluding amoled screen ones) and everything above 4 hours of screen on time is good.
How is the touch screen? Is it responsive and good? And how do i figure out if its u8800 or u8800H??

For me touchscreen si too much responsive!! i'm not kidding!! it's so damn responsive that it's hard to type correctly sms D i use GoKeyboard it's very nice and larger than android
i think H version should be written on back of phone when removed battery. MAYBE.
Anyway you should try it by yourself first. But hardware is good for this phone the only bad thing about it is battery. if you use it offten it won't last 12 hours.
Now i would trade my X5 to Sony Xperia mini pro (NOT x10).. it has better cpu and external keyboard. i hate onscreen typing..it's not for me
and a worse screen.
everyone should know that it's up to the manufacturer to set the clock speed.
btw. x5's cpu is newer than xperia mini pro's

for me 3" screen is nice thing not bad, i hate big screens. And phone will not discharged so quick. Yes it's maybe older but better.. little and ****ing fast! Te only bad thing for Xperia is his height it's almost 2cm.
i meant resolution.
anyway, it's not a better cpu. they're pretty much the same, only x5's is a little newer.
I would go for it, just because the screen is much bigger and is virtually unbrickable.
Hey guys, here in germany I can get this phone for 175€, should i get it if I want a cheap, working smartphone? I think there is no alternative in this price range, is there?
Sure go for it if you are okay with installing custom ROMs which is quite easy. You can get it for about EUR 210,- on Amazon, I'd choose that and take the full warranty.
Hi Nokia 6's owners.
First of all, I'm sorry for my bad bad bad english way to speak, I promess, I do my best!
So -> I brougt a Nokia 6 in France a week ago to remplace my Samsung A3 2016. I was excited, as a real fan!
First day was... Mhh... Meh. I updated my phone (now on 7.1.2), added all my apps, like Facebook, Soundcloud, or Spotify, that was not pretty smooth, but It worked ... For a while. The next day, I had to wait few seconds, like 10-15 before they open. Sometime they crashed, and I had to forcequit them.
Now I've to delete cache memory everyday, i've to reboot, it's awefull, so slow, not what I expeded from Nokia & a Smartphone I paid 260€.
Have you a solution for me? Did I am alone ?
Hi... U not alone... Mine also sometimes get slow on my nokia 6 ta-1021... Maybe the processor they using is the old one... But the Ram i think still can catch up the performance... U can clear manual the cache by yourself at setting-storage then go cache... U can clear it manualy... If u using a computer with octa core n ram 4gb, it same thing to clear those cache, in windows it calls, disk clean up... But the different is, in android we can't defrag it... It was Linux OS.
Hi guys! I'm using TA-1021 just for 4 days and I never face any problem or crushed everything is working fine but sometimes switching apps is a bit stutter. But I never game on it and I use this phone for my daily driver
this is because of the processor , i'm thinking to sell mine and buy something with a snapdragon 8xx
Dude I have Nokia 6. It's a good phone, but you have to face a little differences with Samsung phones. First - the clean Android. Second - the last CPU cores are not on 1.4 they're on 1094 ghz. 3 GB RAM is cool, 32 GB memory is cool, clean Android is cool. This is budget phone, you cannot have best performance with Nokia 6, don't install 18397 apps and games and you'll be satisfied. If you want performance, buy Samsung S7 Edge for example. Or Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. I repeat - Nokia 6 is a BUDGET phone.

Hi bro when you update to 7.1.2 some apps not compatible with this version of Android and I suggest you be patient for updating apps.
I install over 100 apps games included and all games running smooth enough I don't any issues
Do factory reset and install apps mybe helpful.
And one thing many apps on Android running on one or just two cores of cpu and others not working if you want more speed, buy phone with quads core highest clocked core, it is very good for you like Sony z3plus or Xperia x.
The price is same.....
i have the french version too (TA-1033) and android 7.1.2 and it's running well, i have no slowness, hope you can fix your problem maybe by hard reseting
Hey all, I send back my phone, with the hope they'll repaire it. I tried to do soft reset, hard reset, force GPU... Nothing.. :/ If, when I'll take it back, it didn't work well', I'll ask for a refund...
Refund and buy the Nokia 6.1 (the new Nokia 6) that has better processor
