What's the difference?
What does nand + ext do and when should I use it? When should I not use it?
Thanks!
If you use Apps2SD and you want your ext partition backed up, use NAND + EXT
If you don't use Apps2SD (If you don't know what it is you don't have it) then just use NAND.

How do I know if my EXT Partition is working??
i followed the steps perfectly..& ,y 16Gb sd card have 2 partition 1.5GB EXT4 - 13GB FAT32
but im not seeing a different with my internal memory space...its the same
i feel like its the same with out the EXT partition.
plz guys help me....
i needed more internal storage to install application...so i found a topic talking about making SD card 2 partition 1 EXT & the Other normal Fat32..i understod that the EXT partition will be as internal memory & i followed the steps
after flashing the NAND i didnt find any different in my internal memory storage & after installing some application my internal memory got low...so i used APP2SD but as u all know some application cant be moved to SD.
so plz i want to know where is my EXT4 1.5GB partition & how can i know if its working or not ?
Does your rom you are flashing use data2ext or app2sd? If the rom itself isn't set up to recognize the partition I doubt you can just add a partition.

i was using MDJ FroYo Revolution v.2.3 [A2SD+][RMNET][Kernel: MDJ S10.2 OC]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=823491
but my memory got low tooo fast from a little application....so im now using a smaller NAND
CleanDROID v1.30 - Super Clean [FROYO+Cyanogen][Kernel GL v1]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917590 just to get more free space
I haven't tried either of those so can't comment. The one I'm using certainly recognises my partition and I have plenty of "internal" memory.
I know most recommend not going above 1gb for the partition as larger ones can cause a problem. Try reformatting the partition and resize it to 1gb and see if that helps.
thank you ill try another NAND
can u tell me ROM r u using?

Link is in my signature
recently jus port over from Sd build to nand and wanted to ask is there anyway we can test rom like what i used to do when i am using Sd build , because sd build all we need is copy and paste to SD folder and boot up but nand does not allow that.
So question is ,is there anyway we can backup the whole rom and head over to test other nand rom and if we not satifed then switch back to my default (hyperdroid) without losting any data
how can i check if i am running or ext3 or ext4?
thanks in advanced cheers!

You can backup the whole rom using clockworkmod + u can check if you have a ext3/4 using titaniumbackup
i have titanium back up, how i can check it? and what is the difference between ext3 and ext 4?

when you first open titanium backup, you will see sd card storage and phone memory.. If you have ext there, then yes you have it if not.. then no

Hello everyone,
is it possible to partition the MAIN memory (I mean the phone memory, not sd card) to fit the build I'm using perfectly? Like setting best size for boot partition, for system partition etc..., in order to have more space available for data internal partition?
I've found http://www.enfeuman.com/2011/06/01/how-to-fix-abnormal-internal-storage-space-on-htc-hd2/
but I really couldn't find an option in CMR to partition main memory.
If this is possible, can anyone tell me how? (I'd like it for my NAND ACA GB2.3.7 build)
And is it necessary to wipe the whole phone and do (flash) everything over again?

Wipe data
to set the partition sizes, try clk 1.6 and use fastboot commands to resize the partitions.
When you do this, you will have to re flash the rom.
Thanks, ill try that.

NAND Android ROCKS!
Hi everyone, I want to use NativeSD, because i am running out of space (I am using NexusHD2 with 180 /system and link2sd, 512 MB ext), but i am afraid, that i will lose all my data (i can do a nandroid backup with CWM 5.0.2.6), but if i will restore data, will it still copy them to /data or not?
I have mokee in NAND & the rest in Ext4 Native SD, so afr all seems to be OK But i'm not sure about the use of the a2sd/ link2sd since that will also use the ext4 part of the sd.
just do a total back up & give it a shot!

Okay, thanks!
Having had sd versions for a long time i recently switched to native sd and its great.
Just remember that when you want to backup to copy BOTH fat32 and ext4.
Just formatted my 32gb card and almost forgot to backup the ext4
Sent from my HD2 using the power of Jelly Bean
Hallo together,
this is my first thread in this forum.
I plan to install the NexusHD2-JellyBean-4.1.2-CM10 V1.3a [NativeSD] on my Leo and I have one principal question:
I must have two partitons on the sd-card, one ext4 and one fat32. Which of those two partitions is the one all android apps are stored/installed on? Is it possible that all apps are installed on fat32-partition? In this case a size of the ext4-partition of 2 GB would be sufficient. But if all apps are installed in the ext4-partition it has to bigger, hasn't it?
Is there an app that manages all apps to be installed on sd-card (fat32-partition)? Is app2sd the right application?
I hope someone can give me some useful advice.
Greetings,
kteamchief
Which of those two partitions is the one all android apps are stored/installed on? ext4, if you installed rom with dataonext
Is there an app that manages all apps to be installed on sd-card (fat32-partition)? link2sd
Is app2sd the right application? yes, but you need to flash a2sd script first
you should choose one of three line above
I prefer to dataonext
if the rom is nativesd, (it is) and you install it as nativesd, then there would be no point putting teh apps on teh fat32 partition, since they would already be on the faster ext partition anyway.
if you installed it as nand, then use a script to put teh apps/data on the ext partition, , teh fat32 partition is always going to be slowest.
