Hi,
my QTEK S200 screen has quite some scratches. When I replace the touchscreen, will I then have a fresh new screen again? In other words, is the screen that I touch with the stylus part of the touch screen or is there still a layer on top of it?
thanks
Paul

The upper layer of the touch screen is replaced together with your LCD screen as one component.
That's what i heard from people sent back their mobile phone for service. However, it's not cheap.
Better got a protect film next time to prevent the scratch, bro.

Ahem...They have an OEM touchscreen for our Prophets sold for under $10? I'm reasonably certain this would not work.
Try Vaseline
Try applying vaseline on it and rubbing it off afterwards with a soft cloth. It worked on my galaxy nexus s.
Hi, i broke my Elfin display (T-mobile unlocked) my screen looks like this: (touchscreen is still working):
. I think i need the entire screen+digitizer thing and not only the digitizer? therefore this ? http://cnn.cn/shop/touch-screen-p-1900.html
Unlucky
The touch screen has 2 parts. The plastic outer screen is the digitizer and the lcd screen is the one underneath. When you take it appart the digitizer stays in the top of the housing and the lcd is attached to the middle bit.
Looks like you broke the LCD for sure but maybe the digitzer is ok - you will see as soon as you take it apart. The post here about how to disasemble a touch has clear pictures so check it out its quite easy to take apart if you follow the guide.
Yeah that definitely looks like you broke the LCD which is underneath the digitizer. Either take it to a service rep...or if you think you're up to it.....you can attempt to take the phone apart and replace the LCD yourself.
Hey, i've bought a couple different screen protectors including writeshield, but they dont really do what i want them too. when i got my tilt it had a screen protector on it, which still allowed me to use the touch screen protectors , with all of the screens i have purchased, they are to thick to use the screen.
Does anyone know a place you can buy a screen protector where the touch screen is still usable??
thank you
Any screen protector made for the the Kaiser should let the touchscreen work. I have a very thick one on my old Treo that still didn't cause a problem. Is it possible that you've accidentally got your screen protector in-between the screen and the casing? Something like that might cause a problem.

I don't have any casing on my phone! im not sure why the touch screen doesnt work then =[, it works fine when i take it off, but with this screen protector on, it doesn't have any response!
By casing I mean the bit of the phone that you hold. Every phone has that
wow
idk what happened but its working now...
thanks for your help =]
Hello all,
My Touch HD slipped from my hands and ended-up flat on the screen... the screen does not have a scratch, the digitizer still works perfect, but the LCD underneath is broken, so I get a black screen. I can still access the Touch HD via my PC thanks to MyMobilier, though (so why do I complain, huh?!!)!
I ordered a replacement LCD in Hong-Kong (thanks ebay!), got the HTC Service Guide, managed to remove the antenna cover (tough!) and dismantle the whole thing. But NOW I AM STUCK with the 'bezel', i.e. the cover, screen, digitizer, LCD, and metal plate with bolts all apparently glued together.
Anyone faced the same problem? Anyone knows how to separate the LCD from the screen and digitizer?
Cheers,
FroggyZ

Anyone can help with this???
Hi guys,
What could be the possible reasons for a touchscreen and the capacitive buttons to stop working?
I purchased my Huawei U8800 only very recently but it was purchased 2nd hand. The phone came pre-installed with a custom rom, which is this one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1481168
I've had very minimal use of it ever since I received it, due to the reason that I have exams as I'm an UNI student. Therefore, I haven't modified the phone in any way, i.e I have not overclocked it or flashed a different kernel or recovery etc. The only thing I've done is installed GO SMS PRO and used it for txting and calling, that's it.
At first, everything seems to work fine. But on my 2nd day of use, the touchscreen started acting weird, where the right hand side of the screen stops working for no reason, as well as the 2 capacitive buttons on the right half of the screen (HOME and SEARCH). Then after a while, the BACK capacitive button on the left half of the screen stopped working, and eventually all 4 capacitive buttons and the entire screen stopped working.
The phone still turns on, but the entire screen doesn't pick up any finger input and there isn't any haptic feedback or vibration from the capacitive buttons. When I boot into the recovery, this is also the same.
So I contacted the seller about this, and he advised me to flash the Cyanogenmod 7.2 rom to see if this fixes the problem. It didn't, the touchscreen still doesn't work.
I'm wondering if this is related to the digitizer, which is the part of the phone that sense your finger inputs? If not, what are the other parts of the phone that could relate to the capacitive buttons and touch screen?
Definately a digitizer problem. The capacitive buttons are part of the touch screen, the touch screen is extended over the bottom of the display.
You should buy a new one from eBay or similar. If you want to buy it with a frame (black part on the front), you will have to open your phone to see if the front speaker is big or small. There are two types of front speakers and they are not cross-compatible. If you just want to buy the digitizer, you will have to remove the old digitizer from it's frame and add some glue on the new one to make sure it won't stick out.
If you don't want to mess with your phone, I am sure there are paid services that will do it for you, since replacing the digitizer is fairly easy.

thanks for your reply mate!
Ok so I've found this one here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-To...Glass-For-Huawei-U8800-Ideos-X5-/170721993712
Since it says it's "original", I don't have to worry about the speaker problem right?

They are selling the digitizer, so there will be no problems as it's only the digitizer glass and not the frame around it. The frame itself is holding the digitizer and the speaker so that's why there may be issues when buying the front cover.
If you need a disassembly tutorial, check my Mediafire (signature) -> Documents -> U8800 Basic Maintenance Manual. It's the official disassembly guide so you can be sure you are doing it right .

Wait, that doesn't have the frame around it? I thought the black part surrounding the glass is the frame? I'm confused.......
I just want something that looks exactly like shown in that Ebay listing photo, where it has that bit of the connector part that you push into the motherboard (or whatever it's called on the phone).

On your listing, it does not have frame.
If it's without frame, it is simply the front glass with connector. If it is with the frame, it has the black curve too (and speaker with led).
See this:

Hope it makes sense now

Ahh ic ic.....so would I need to use glue to stick the digitizer glass onto the frame?

Yeah, but not much. Maybe you don't need to add any glue at all, the old one might hold it too.

hi blefish
just posted a similar question:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39201328#post39201328
is it the same solution? (the 4 buttons at the bottom do not work as well as the lower half of screen)
my speaker is 15 mm by 5 mm long (i looked inside). is it big or small?
all the ebay posts do not mention a frame - i will be happy not to mess with the glue
thanks
huwaei G 510
Hi guys,
I did have the same problem with a Huawei G 510. Digitizer broken and replaced, but still not working.
I have no action on screen. It lits but i can't press any button. Either the 3 buttons are working.
Checked the plug, checked some voltage in the pins.
Any other ideas ?
Thanks in advance,
Miltos Matt
