I have the following problem:
I can not cap in my MEGA connect to my PC via USB already have Windows installed new, my ROM with the new SD geflash but it does not work ..
please explain again you cannot cap in a mega connect?
did you tried the connecting options when you connect mega to usb?
Connections:- Usb to Pc:- Active Sync and faster transfer (if memory card inserted).
what about selecting ActiveSync. try that and report.
Windows says the message that my USB device not getting detected. Active Sync does not recognize my device.
I have already tried the following:
- Active Sync running fast connection on and off.
- Try to start Active Sync from MEGA.
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Active Sync.
- Windows 7 (x64) installed on second hard drive and install Active Sync.
- Gone through all USB ports.
I've just tried again. Now it's back a day later ...

It will now work again. But yesterday I spent hours to find the error. I have tried all the options, the phone was not recognized windows ...!!!
Es funktionier jetzt wieder. Aber gestern habe ich stunden damit verbracht den Fehler zu finden. ich habe alle optionen ausprobiert, das Handy wurde von windows nicht erkannt...!!!
Glad it is solved ...activeync is sometimes crappy.....but it use to be much worse.....
Today activesync saw my phone as a new device.... so I paired them up again.....
With windows 7 you better download and use 'windows mobile device manager', not activesync.
I had a similar problem.Often even when properly paired with Activesync(or windows mobile device manager) connection failed after a few days.
Since I have done the following-I have no connection problems:
Try:
1.Uninstall Activesync and his drivers.
2.if you use Internet Security (f.ex.Norton I.S) remove from the Settings / Network Settings / control programs / =WCESMgr.exe,wcescomm.exe,rapimgr.exe.
3.Install Activesync(or wmdc).
4.Change the USB cable (f.ex-Hama USB 2.0 cert.cable)
5.Change to the USB port to connect directly to the motherboard (back of the computer-not through a hub,or additional slot on the front).
6.In the firewall, select everything that is related to Activesync on the deny (not automatic!).
greetings

I have Windows Mobile Device Center already uninstalled and removed the drivers. I even have Windows installed to start it again without antivirus programs. I use ESET Smart Security 4, I've also disabled ESET and it had not worked ... It had worked with any USB port, not directly to the motherboard ....

Let me explain what I've encountered a few times(with tg01 and mega/touch2 also after reflashing, of course on XP&active sync):
a problem same to yours, solved by one simple method(at least for me, working everytime)=change device ID(in Settings/system/about/device id).
Maybe it's just me, but it worth a try...

sounds like a firewall problem. Try disconnection from the internet and disable your firewall. If it connects then, adjust the firewall settings before reconnection to the internet.
I had the same problem with EZ Firewall
Nope, it is not the firewall, it used to work perfectly and it suddenly doesn't...
2 different computers have the exact same problem..any ideas?
I'm sure you've probably tried these, but just in case:
Reset device & stop activesync on device (memory/running programs)
Reboot laptop/pc
check in task manager that activesync is not running in the background
Delete existing partnership in Activesync & set it up again

Yeps, tried all of that.....even ahard reset....
But still no succes, now back to syncing via IR....
Just :
START > SETTINGS > CONNECTIONS > USB to PC (then untick this box)
Then try again, worked OK for me!!!
use USB switch program
try install this program in your PPC and after that change activesync via serial instead of RNDIS.
worked on my Unieversal but i do not know yours
i don't think you need this program as it is already available in control panel -> connections -> usb-pc
hellejoep - any progress in solving this problem? I seem to be having the same problem with mine - tried activesync 4.2 and 4.5 on two machines - running the latest SA ROM.

This pc is Win2k SP3, on my XP SP2 it was working....
Any ideas?
I had a defective cable. It did exactly what you are describing. All other cables worked fine.
Please note that with the "old" notebock, with vista too, i have use the Hermes without problem.
Just connect via usb and all works fine.
Now with the new notebock (same os (wm6.0 in ppc, and vista home in the notebock)) i have problems.
Vista dont recognize hermes.
so i cant connect ppc to notebock.
Some ona have idea how can i do a connection and a sync with vista.
Ps
i have install the wmdc but dosent works.
Please help.
pps
i have try to unceck enable advanced network funcionality, but when i do this i receive this error:
Fallied to disable RNDIS to use serial.
nobody can help me?
Damn
im going be crazy.
if i use internet sharing and conect the pda with notebook all works fine.
Pc find the rnids device and i can go to internet.
But if i try to sync the pc dont reconize the ppc...
welcom to the VISTA world
I've had nothing but issues with Vista and WM6 on my Hermes.
The few things I can suggest.
1) As you say Disable the Advanced networking....
2) Connect directly to a USB port, not through a hub.
3) Try soft-resetting your phone between connection attempts.
4) Remove associations between Vista and your phone.
I find that the first time I connect it everything's good, but on subsequent attempts it's hit and miss.
If you are using vista, there's an update for Windows Mobile software on the microsoft website.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx
you need to install 6.1 for it in order for WM6 to work with vista.
Cheers

If he is using the same version of WM Device center on both computers and i am assuming he is, then i doubt it will fix the problem by downloading the latest version as i have that version installed on both my pc's.
I had the same problem, where windows just detected the device as an unknown device and therefore wouldnt let me sync.
right click on my computer and click manage, then plug in your device and see if you have any unknown devices appearing if you do right click on it and click uninstall then unplug the device and wait 10 seconds then plug it back in, this solved it for me. Although i still have to do this every so often. But at least it allows me to sync with both my pc's
I've had problems with SEUS before with my X1. The problem is that when I connect the phone according to the guide the update just doesn't start. It just keeps showing the guide on how to connect the phone.
Before I have just reconnected it once or twice and it has started anyway but now I've tried for about 20-30 times with no success.
Anyone that has any idea?
The computer is running Windows Vista Home Premium.
Admin can remove this thread. Found my answer.
I have the same problem. Can I ask you how you resolved it please?
I've got still the same problem, what's the solution?
Hello, you must clear the Checkbox : USB Connection allowed, in the Vista Mobile Devicecenter. Then SEUS will work correctly.
I have no Idea why, but this is the Problem
Sorry ... baaaaad english

Greetings developers and enthusiasts!
I was flashing my MDA II (HTC Himalaya) as i did in the past very often. Everything was fine but this time the USB/Disconnection error appeared (Screen shows only Serial/USB & v.1.02). I tried of course the usual steps:
1 - first fully charged battery.
2 - install mobile device center or active sync ( as per your OS )
3 - Enter in to the bootloader mode
4 - connect USB cable with ppc device.
5 - wait for detection of the device
6 - drivers are automatically installed if you are using windows7 it shows
driver installed successfully & device is ready to use.
7 - extract the rom update utility from the posts whichever you like ( remember choose it carefully as per your device )
8 - just double click on upgrade icon in extracted folder and yeah you done.

But I’m not able to flash the device with a new rom anymore. I don´t know what went wrong and why I’m not able to reflash the device.
Windows 7/64 identifies the USB-Device correctly. But the updater (ROM) says there is a connection problem/101.
May be I´m missing something.
Thanx in advance!

UPDATE:
I tried another PC with Windows 7/32
Same Problem again with error 101 and device still in bootloader mode.

Thanks a lot for your help!
I remember i did an upload of the usb driver back in 2009 during the windows7-BETA but i forgot that step!
It works very fine now due to your nice manual!
This threat should be sticky don´t you think?
Best regards from Athens,

Hey there,
I've used stock 2.1 on my LG phone for a long time but then decided to flash Cyanogenmod 7 by M4RIK. Now I have these problems:
1. USB mount doesn't work
When connecting my phone to the PC, I get the "mount"-Notification for mounting the SD-Card so I can copy files on it, but if I click 'Mount' it loads, and loads, loads, loads, .... but never works.
2. Bluetooth: Can't receive files with specific file extensions
I have Windows 7 and use the standard bluetooth-driver to send and receive files over bluetooth on my pc. It worked woth every file on stock 2.1 but now I can't receive files with these extensions:
- apk
- exe (I use it for downloads where I can't use my pc)
If I try to I get this error:
'Das Gerät kann diesen Datentyp nicht verarbeiten.' ('The device can't handle this filetype.')
How can I fix these problems?
ditto here...usb mount not working at all and bluetooth not very good.I've been using a card reader for file tranfers...any help would be appreciated.
