Battery LED Warning (and popup) - Hero CDMA General

Probably not the first person to ask this, but after an hour of searching google and the forums I haven't found anything useful relating to Android...
Is there a way to completely remove low battery notifications? The Orange flash is the most annoying thing in the world, and the loud as hell beep needs to diaf.
Using dc2.09.1

yes it does... im going to look around in the system files if i can stop that

I don't think there's a way to remove the battery warning popups. They're built into the frameworks if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure about the beeps though. They're purely HTC's work....

Some oddities with the Touch HD - 3 Questions.

Hi there,
I've recently had someone ask me how to resolve the following issues on the Touch HD.
End key, when set to lock the handset, isn't.
Ringtone ending too quickly, so the ringtone stops ringing, but the caller still hears ringing and the call can be answered (this is also happening on my HTC Hermes).
The other thing is, where the handset is shutting off overnight, meaning the person who owns the phone misses the alarms which were set, due to it being off.
Is there anything I can say to this person to sort these problems?
Thank you,
I think more people are inclined to answer you if you put a topic of note on your post.
"Some" doesn't really cut it does it.
As for your issues...perhaps the ring tone is set to only play once in the settings which is why it's stopping.
As for the lock...did you have S2U2 on at some point?
Remember the topic thing for next time please!!! I hate those sort of topics
Firstly, the topic is a minor issue, since I had already typed it, and it hasn't fully shown.
I'll edit it to reflect what it should've been, I'm not the typical n00b user of forums, and I do try to be fairly to the point.
Secondly, which part of "I've recently had someone ask me" do you not comprehend?
This is NOT my phone, therefore I do not know what has been done, and what hasn't been done.
The original user is someone who contacted me recently, and I'm trying to find the best way to resolve these issues.
As for the ringtone, I know on my phone its set to be continuous. Only by pure luck somehow I managed to answer my phone after its first beep this morning, half asleep, but it had beeped once from my ringtone and stopped ringing on my end.
If you can explain S2U2, that would be handy.
Thank you,
Upon reflection, do you agree it might be prudent in future to ascertain what steps have already been taken to rectify said "problem" before posting?
As for S2U2 - it's an application (there are others like it) that locks the screen of the phone - I have seen applications like this disable the default locking mechanism upon uninstallation. That was the reason for me asking - perhaps you could get your friend to check that?

I'm quite sure he understood what "I've recently had someone ask me" means - but you can't really expect us to help you in any way if you can't answer any follow-up questions! It's pure guessing this way!

S2U2 is a locking app available here: http://s2u2.ac-s2.com/
I've used it myself for a while and never had any issues. But I guess Wiggz is hinting at problems that might arise after uninstalling S2U2 (I hard-reset my device instead of uninstalling - so I have no idea) since S2U2 sorta does the same job as the standard locking using the end-key.
A hard-reset would probably fix all three issues - but I guess that isn't really an option if your friend asked you for help... :/
I'll have a look into the S2U2, and get this person to try it.
Since the handset has only recently been delivered from replacement, I can't see how a Hard Reset will work, but always worth a try.
What would you recommend with the custom ringtone issue? It happens on my hermes also, so not sure what would be causing this.

Are you sure the ringtone is of sufficient length to match the ring/pickup pattern - i.e. 30 second ringtone for 30 seconds before voicemail?
I had this problem with my alarm when I first used it.

odd phone beahaviour.

Hey guys,
I'm having some wierd behaviour with my phone and was hoping you all could weigh in and let me know if I'm the only one.
Since upgrading to any 2.1 rom, the phone app will periodically stop sending sound and the microphone will shut down too. I can make and receive calls, but people cannot hear nor can I hear them.
A reboot fixes the problem. Not the end of the world. I guess what I'm really after if this is my phone that needs service, or something inherently wrong with the updates.
Thanks guys

I've heard rumours that it has been removed in some of the newest leaked firmwares. That makes me believe the severely retarded people at Samsung finally realized that their phone making an utterly annoying sound in the middle of the night perhaps isn't a very good idea.
Go to settings -> sounds and display and turn off notifcation ringtone. This will however turn off all notification sounds. You can the go into indivual apps like Messaging-> Menu -> notification sound on. You can do the same for gmai and others
Cheers

Geee, the sound is still there in Froyo JPH release. I wonder what the programmers at Samsung are thinking - I really wonder... This has to be the most obvious of all the things the SGS does all wrong.
Just make sure it's on vibrate/silent before you go to bed, then it won't annoy you.

Anyway putting the phone on silent is the best way for now

Agreed, until someone finds a one-click solution.
you don't need to delete the sound if you install this

This allows you to disable the full battery pop-up.
I have tested this and it works successfully.
Of course, you have to be able to access testmode first, which is apparently different on the Epic4g than on our vibrants. Who knows how to get into testmode so we can try the same code?

Can we use that info for disabling the "battery full" sound?
I use a little app called 'Sweet Dreams' You just set it for a time when you usually go to bed and a time for when you usually get up, then it turns the phone to silent for you. I find it very handy as I often forgot to manually put the phone into silent mode.
Hi AllGamer, link is broken could you relink?

[Q] Bluetooth connection pop-up: Can it be disabled?

Maybe I'm not using the right search terms, but I can't seem to find anybody talking about this.
When you turn bluetooth back on after pairing a device (in my case, my car stereo) a popup appears asking you basically if you want to reconnect with the existing device. This is annoying. I want my phone to connect to my stereo automatically and I don't want a popup telling me about it.
I discovered an app in the market called "Bluetooth Auto Connect" which seems to have solved the first problem (reconnecting automatically), but the pop-up still appears every time.
Is this a Jelly Bean thing or a Samsung thing? Can somebody point me in the right direction for disabling the pop-up?
I have the same problem. And don't know how to disable this.
bump, this thing is annoying
Are you sure it's not connecting? Mine does the same thing but does auto connect eventually. I do however hate the pop-up with a fiery passion & can't find a setting to disable it. I want it to just connect to paired devices automatically w/o the annoying effing pop-up each time.
I had this issue as well, really irritating when connecting to my car.
The easiest solution I found is an app in the playstore called "Bluetooth Auto Connect"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.myklos.btautoconnect&hl=en
Thing is amazing, just run it the one time and never again. Never have to deal with that popup window and selecting what you want to reconnect to.
This "feature" is VERY annoying, I thought I was the only person who hated it. It is only helpful if you have multiple Bluetooth devices. The only workaround I have found is to enable Bluetooth on the S4 and then cut your Bluetooth device on WHILE the S4 screen is off.
The added step is annoying as well but no pop up....
Also I've noticed that if you already have Bluetooth enabled and connect your device during a live call it does not pop up.
This has resulted in me leaving Bluetooth enabled on the S4 and answering all my calls by cutting on my Bluetooth device.

It's called an idiom.... You obviously knew what it meant or you wouldn't be "splitting hairs". There's another idiom for you.

Irony: Someone butchering the English language welcoming me to it.
I'm quite well versed in the English language, thank you very much. It's people like you who bastardize it that make me concerned for our nation's future. I only wish not seeming like an idiot when you speak wasn't the 'in thing' in society. When did being intelligent and well spoken go out of fashion anyway?

Hey Ostrich Sak, how about we just agree to disagree that the use of the idioms "cut on" or "cut off" are butchering the English language and/or dooming the nation. Let's not hijack the thread or insult each other over something so insignificant to the point of the original post.
I'm sure we can both agree that civility goes a lot further than douchery towards preserving and creating harmony. And THAT is the intelligent thing to do any way you cut it.
I would also like to know if it's possible to disable popup, without root that is, I'm very happy with my i9505 usung build mg4...
On another note, it would be nice if you folk voluntaraly edit your OT posts and keep it nice and clean, (the insults and nastiness is not needed or nessassary) without needing intervention from the moderators, thank you

Far as I'm concerned he and I hashed it out like adults and reached a resolution. Nobody was insulted and nobody was nasty. Man, this new generation is WAY too sensitive and dependent on authority figures to solve perceived issues. People wonder what's wrong with society...

Boot Vibration

Hello,
I'm sorry if this was asked before, I did a quick search and did not see anything. Does anyone know how to turn off the extremely annoying vibrate upon boot up? i've tried multiple applications and solutions from Google search, and none of them worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
I agree, extremely annoying!
Here's hoping. Soooo annoying.
Just out of curiosity, why on earth do you guys boot your phone so often? Or... ever?

I was thinking the same thing.. how many times do you reboot the phone that the vibration becomes a problem?

I've been doing a lot with Xposed lately, and I like to backup with TWRP quite a bit. And I'm in college and study at the library. So yesterday I was taking a break to fool with Xposed, and I had to reboot the phone and it was so loud and a few people looked at me lol. Also just in general it aggravates the crap out of me. I much prefer a silent boot.
It is not like you need to boot your phone every couple of minutes.. it is hardly a small vibration to tell you when the phone is on.
I would politely like to ask people that are not here to help to not post here. I understand that you don't care about the boot vibration, hence why you never asked this question. Myself and at least two others do not like the boot vibration, and we are just wondering if anyone has a solution. Thank you.
Also, I can clearly see the phone is booting by the giant 'M' logo. I don't need it to also vibrate to tell me what I already know, lol.
Unfortunately it would likely require a bootloader modification, which is not something people do casually due to risk. So unless someone dives in there to change it, you're probably out of luck, sorry.

I see, that sucks! But if a bootloader modification is needed, I understand why the apps I have tried did not work.
no solution for this?
Still waiting too.
