I've heard rumours that it has been removed in some of the newest leaked firmwares. That makes me believe the severely retarded people at Samsung finally realized that their phone making an utterly annoying sound in the middle of the night perhaps isn't a very good idea.
Go to settings -> sounds and display and turn off notifcation ringtone. This will however turn off all notification sounds. You can the go into indivual apps like Messaging-> Menu -> notification sound on. You can do the same for gmai and others
Cheers

Geee, the sound is still there in Froyo JPH release. I wonder what the programmers at Samsung are thinking - I really wonder... This has to be the most obvious of all the things the SGS does all wrong.
Just make sure it's on vibrate/silent before you go to bed, then it won't annoy you.

All your posts you look pretty agressive and you don't seems to know f about what you say.
Anyway putting the phone on silent is the best way for now

Agreed, until someone finds a one-click solution.
you don't need to delete the sound if you install this
Battery Full Popup Fix

Also note that JM7/8 does not have the annoying Battery problem.
EDIT: This is wrong, sorry. (They both do it.)

This allows you to disable the full battery pop-up.
I have tested this and it works successfully.
Of course, you have to be able to access testmode first, which is apparently different on the Epic4g than on our vibrants. Who knows how to get into testmode so we can try the same code?

Can we use that info for disabling the "battery full" sound?
I use a little app called 'Sweet Dreams' You just set it for a time when you usually go to bed and a time for when you usually get up, then it turns the phone to silent for you. I find it very handy as I often forgot to manually put the phone into silent mode.
Hi AllGamer, link is broken could you relink?

I found this while searching on google. I take no credit for this, but am posting it here so that you can use it too.
Basically it enables airplane mode and disables it at boot. It doesn't add any time to boot, because it coincides with the Media Scanning.
All you do is install it and forget about it.
Anyway, heres the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=938677
Ignore that it says 2.1 only... Works just fine on my ROM.

Thanks.

I actually had this installed for a couple weeks now. Phone boots and then goes into airplane mode. I did love the one time where my phone booted up, I got a phone call right and forgot about the airplane mode and it kicked me off the call!
It won't download to my phone and I'm stuck at work. Can anybody upload it here or post a drop box link for me? Thanks!
Edit: Forgot I can use Astro for the download.
Mike, what do you think of this explanation and fix? It is interesting to read there why this happens, if nothing else. I look forward to your ROM fix tonight!
I actually have 2 tasker events setup that takes care of this nearly transparently. On device shutdown tasker sets airplane mode and clears it on boot.
I just have to do it manually if I get some kind of random reboot or sleep/charge death.

ok and what is your percentage ?
I only realized this was an issue sometime last week and when I checked it was 50%.
Toggle airplane mode and within 10 mins it dropped to 38% and then went down to 17% a few hours later. But since then everytime I unplug or reboot I toggle airplane mode and most days it's at 0% ~ 5%

If I catch it right away it will go down to 0 by days end. If not and I catch it later it varies.
thanks for the link! i'm just curious though, is there any reason why this signal bug hasn't been addressed at the ROM level? from my brief searching it seems like it occurs on most devices.

I think including the apk in future ROMs seems a definite possibility as this fix released very recently.
I didn't find this issue in this forum, sorry if i missed something.
The problem that after it finish the charging it makes beep.
This beep woke me up in the middle of the night
Seems like the message "disconnect the charger" is very important to wake me up !
I didn't find how to turn it off even System Volume won't help.
To put it in silence mode is not good idea for me....
Do you have any solution for it ?
I have Original ROM
no way of turning it off. only way is to root.
someone in Samsung must find battery full beep useful, I certainly dont
A well known solution is using earplugs when you sleep
As said its not a problem its standard but you can remove the sound if your phone is rooted .

Yes, it's rooted, how can I remove the beep? (without replace Rom)
You would need to use my "no 3am wakeup call" fix. It's available on villainrom 1.x and xwkdd/xwke2 stock roms via vrtweaks

OK, found your "Prevent battery full alert". (SystemUI.apk)
is it your "no 3am wakeup call" ?
I guess i can use the "adb" method (already used it for something else) or use VillainTweaks withut worry about "adb",
am i right ?
Had a look in the system and does not appear to be a end of charge notification .

That won't stop the vibration etc.
If you are using VillainROM 1.4, or another recent version, it will show in VRTweaks without the need to go near adb

Just tried it now, no beep any more thanks !
I heard very low level "click" maybe the speaker start or stop with "empty" sound, I don't think this very low "click" can wake me up
It's very simple solution (just to the ppl that know howto copy into file system)

I was going to try your solution (install VRTweaks or SystemUI), already exist on my PC, In the last minute I saw crassy solution and tried it. For sure your application is aplication after all and just needs to run it without mess with files...
The easiest way I found is to simply disable all notification sounds in the settings, I prefer to live without them than with that annoying beep
... or I guess that method is easy too that crassy gave: blog.ginzburgconsulting.com/silencing-the-battery-charging-completed-sound-on-a-samsung-galaxy-sii/
Just updated my nexus 7, totally stock, with the latest ota.
Problem is, it now randomly makes a weird notification sound but with nothing actually happening, means I can't Skype or watch anything without this annoyance..
Have switched off the nfc thing, tried having it plugged in or unplugged but still it persists, have even muted the notification volume but that doesn't work... It happens when apps are running and when they aren't, can't seem to isolate it at all but it's doing my nut in!!

By any chance, does it kinda sound like the camera sound from Android 4.1, a melodic click? Or two very fast "knocks"? And keep me posted on safe mode's outcome. :good:

Do you have bluetooth enabled? I have an issue that I've seemed to track down to the bluetooth that after connecting and then disconnecting my alert sounds will play very softly. A safe boot will fix it but annoying what I have to reset when I do that.

Yes, I use Bluetooth, but I'm thinking that isn't the problem, a did everything I can, format the SD, format the SD in the PC, format the SD in another phone, factory reset, reboot, disable Play Music, shut down my Bluetooth, everything, and the problem still, sometimes it's fix alone for a limited time, and then came back... Only sound I get is streaming videos and the call Ringtone...

Well, that's what I've narrowed the problem down on my phone to. If I leave bluetooth off, the issue doesn't happen. But I need bluetooth so I leave it on. All I can figure is that there is a bug with the bluetooth software when it interacts with the alert volume when connecting and disconnecting.

Anyone knows how to stop the annoying 15% battery warning message and 5% battery warning message and lowering the Light as well automatically. I could not care less about the warnings, just so tired of them popping up all the time.
My phone is not rooted - but would be nice to know if there was a way to turn them off.
Thanks.
Battery saver in the settings option you can turn off maybe that will stop the warnings.
