I didn't find this issue in this forum, sorry if i missed something.
The problem that after it finish the charging it makes beep.
This beep woke me up in the middle of the night
Seems like the message "disconnect the charger" is very important to wake me up !
I didn't find how to turn it off even System Volume won't help.
To put it in silence mode is not good idea for me....
Do you have any solution for it ?
I have Original ROM
no way of turning it off. only way is to root.
someone in Samsung must find battery full beep useful, I certainly dont
A well known solution is using earplugs when you sleep
As said its not a problem its standard but you can remove the sound if your phone is rooted .

Yes, it's rooted, how can I remove the beep? (without replace Rom)
You would need to use my "no 3am wakeup call" fix. It's available on villainrom 1.x and xwkdd/xwke2 stock roms via vrtweaks

OK, found your "Prevent battery full alert". (SystemUI.apk)
is it your "no 3am wakeup call" ?
I guess i can use the "adb" method (already used it for something else) or use VillainTweaks withut worry about "adb",
am i right ?
Had a look in the system and does not appear to be a end of charge notification .

That won't stop the vibration etc.
If you are using VillainROM 1.4, or another recent version, it will show in VRTweaks without the need to go near adb

Just tried it now, no beep any more thanks !
I heard very low level "click" maybe the speaker start or stop with "empty" sound, I don't think this very low "click" can wake me up
It's very simple solution (just to the ppl that know howto copy into file system)

I was going to try your solution (install VRTweaks or SystemUI), already exist on my PC, In the last minute I saw crassy solution and tried it. For sure your application is aplication after all and just needs to run it without mess with files...
The easiest way I found is to simply disable all notification sounds in the settings, I prefer to live without them than with that annoying beep
... or I guess that method is easy too that crassy gave: blog.ginzburgconsulting.com/silencing-the-battery-charging-completed-sound-on-a-samsung-galaxy-sii/

whats the crack?
if i ring my vario now, when its in standby, on the phone im using to call it, it conects and rings 3 times before the vario jumps into life and allerts me, giving me about 5 -10secs to answer b4 it diverts to voicemail?
its only recently started to do this??
mines done that from the start...doesnt really bother me, as i dont get many calls
i think i read on hear some one had found the registry settings to keep it 'powered up' in standby mode so it would ring immediatley, however the battery life sucked...
its causing me to miss alot of calls, really need to sort it
are your ring tones on your sd card? I read that that might be the problem.
yep they are, hmm will transfer it to the phone and see if that helps
after a few decades searching:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42674
my ring tone was on the phone not the card
cheers minty, i had searched but couldnt find anything usefull, will give that a try , looks promising
yeah...the search function is a pig!
good luck, like i said...your battery life may change
ring dam loud but still about 15/20 seconds before the phone makes a noise, it switch on after about 10second then rings 10 later!
still aint sorted it?
miss call constantly due to this the phone rings for 30 seconds, but starts to ring 20 seconds after the person calling gets the ringing tone?

no pocket zen install, tho i dont know what that or similar is!
is that something i need? or something thats causing the problem?
Using Molski's 2.26 rom my Qtek 9100 rings with no delay at all, witout any modification. So if you don't mind flashing your Wizard, give it a try!
Hi,
Not something you need to solve the problem, just that some of these profile switching apps can cause a delay in the phone rinnging.
By profile application I mean a program that allows you to have several different settings and switch between them to change volume, ringtone, set to vibrate etc...
Thanks.
may try a new rom then, as the phones filled with crap anyways, could do with a clean out

It's a standard thing regarding PPC's, though as has been said before you can change the registry, but battery will suffer (SLIGHTLY)
If you don't want to, you can download Tweaks2k2, which has a fix to stop the 3sec delay, from www.tweaks2k2.com. There you will get a trial version which works for three goes...
Only takes one go to tick the box and restart your PPC though, and problem fixed.
Best Regards
NICE ONE and just like that its sorted
looks like that tweaks is a good tool! and at $10.85 or £5.72 ish worthy of a purchace 8)

Very worthy, it's always being updated, and has some great features
Hi everyone,
I've noticed that the indicator LED of the Samsung i780 will not flash to signal missed calls etc. once the device has entered stand-by (=display off) mode - and likely every other user of that device has as well.
I gathered from several threads that this is likely due to the flashing done by some software that just isn't run during stand-by.
Anyone a clue how to work around that? Obviously some software is still working in stand-by, since the phone will respond to incoming calls etc.
Thanks for any hints&discussion.
Tee im S
PS: Could someone please smack the developers who created this brain fart until they understand the basics of usability? Like trying to use the device for more than 5 minutes and see if some annoying properties show up? I'll never understand how that could possibly pass the SW-QC process. Well, I can, because there likely was no SW-QC process, but that makes things even worse.</rant>

Thanks for the hint; I downloaded, installed, and tried the latest version (2.01 PPC) from the developers homepage. Sadly, same result as you have: doesn't make a difference, LED notifications still won't work once the display is off/the device is on stand-by.
But then, the developers themselves say:
http://magazin.softimage.cz/dontforget/app-description/ said:
"In general, all LED options/features are very device and even OEM specific and may not work in the same way or correctly on all devices. The best practise is to try it on your device before purchasing."

I'll try version 2.61 SP next, but I won't get my hopes up.

Dontforget SP
Short notice:
Tried the SP version of Dontforget - same results, no LED indicator in stand-by mode.
That's a real *D'oh!*.
I guess all that's left is waiting for a new (homebrew?) ROM.

I've had some success on my i780 with a little app called phoneAlarm. After a missed call or sms, an alarm is activated which flashes the green LED (I've set it to flash until I've acknowledged it and not too sure the impact on my battery life). I'm still playing around with the settings but it appears to be doing the job
Thanks for the hint; tried phoneAlarm lite and full.
Worked "kind of"; after a call wasn't answered the Led continued to flash even after the display turned off again - which is an improvement. However, once I switched the display on and off, the LED went dead again - and I did not acknowledge the messages/calls. LED continued to flash while the display was turned on again, and both phonealarm and todayplus signaled the missed call/unread SMS.
Maybe help comes this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388067
way. Or with the official WM6.1 ROM.
TY again

No and Yes.
No: None of the available *official* firmware releases for *my localization* fixes the problem. Dunno about other releases.
Yes: There are several third-party-solutions. Have a look at
http://i780.wordpress.com/2008/07/16/samsung-i780-led-problem-solved/
and follow the links. Notif Blinker is the most lightwight solution I know.
(The blog is generally worthwhile to follow if you own a i780).
Generally: The whole issue is a major brain fart by Microsoft and/or Samsung.
HTH
Tee-im-S
i had the same problem with the led.
but now the phonealarm solution works fine on my i780.
I am using the version 2.13.
but before it will work you have to go to the extra-menu and in the drop-down menu to the point "indiv.LED colours". There you has to open the option menu and there the "device specific"-menue. There you can activate the LED Wakeup Fix (for i780).
(sorry for my bad english)

I've heard rumours that it has been removed in some of the newest leaked firmwares. That makes me believe the severely retarded people at Samsung finally realized that their phone making an utterly annoying sound in the middle of the night perhaps isn't a very good idea.
Go to settings -> sounds and display and turn off notifcation ringtone. This will however turn off all notification sounds. You can the go into indivual apps like Messaging-> Menu -> notification sound on. You can do the same for gmai and others
Cheers

Geee, the sound is still there in Froyo JPH release. I wonder what the programmers at Samsung are thinking - I really wonder... This has to be the most obvious of all the things the SGS does all wrong.
Just make sure it's on vibrate/silent before you go to bed, then it won't annoy you.

This allows you to disable the full battery pop-up.
I have tested this and it works successfully.
Of course, you have to be able to access testmode first, which is apparently different on the Epic4g than on our vibrants. Who knows how to get into testmode so we can try the same code?

Can we use that info for disabling the "battery full" sound?
I use a little app called 'Sweet Dreams' You just set it for a time when you usually go to bed and a time for when you usually get up, then it turns the phone to silent for you. I find it very handy as I often forgot to manually put the phone into silent mode.

Hi XDA,
I have a serious problem with my Galaxy Note: Every night I put the note in the docking station to charge it - and every night i get woken up by the note's display which tells me "Charging complete".
Is there any way to prevent / disable this? I had this phenomenon on Stock and now on KingDroid Notemania mod. I once read something (just can't find it anymore) when I was still on stock which helped about 95% of the time (some file was deleted). Anyone know a solution for this?
Thanks so much in advance!

there are a lot of postings regarding this, please use the search function!
simplest way: if you are rooted, delete the according sound file!
Hi,
thanks for the advice TML1504, but as I said: it didn't help all of the time. Sometimes, even when I deleted the soundfile, it kept happening. That's why I wanted to know if there is any other solution for this "problem". Also, I didn't really find any solution here in the forum (maybe I've been using the wrong keywords). Could you help me out? "Screen turns on after charge" didn't really get me the results that help me.
Thanks anyways,
Mad
just google for "galaxy note disable charged notification", i'm sure one of the methods will work! also, if you remove the correct file the notification WILL be gone! regards
Hi again,
Thank you, with those search results I did it last time. maybe it was just a coincidence it did not work out all the time. I was messing around with a lot of different roms back then
Thanks again,
Mad
Hi again,
went well for a couple of days (or at least I did not notice), but this night, around 4 o'clock my Note went bright as day an told me, charging was completed. So the soundfile I renamed "/system"media/audio/ui" "TW_Battery_caution.ogg" to "TW_Battery_caution.old" (like I found on Google with your advice) did NOT solve the problem.
Anyone else have any idea on how to fix the screen flashing up in the docking station when charging is completed?
Greetz,
Mad
I 'fixed' it by installing an app called Dock Clock from the store and so I get a nice bedside clock with a not-too-bright display instead. The app can be set to fire up automatically if the phone is put in a charging dock during a set time period.
Hi,
thanks for your reply!
Does this app really prevent the display to go bright when charging is finished? Could it really be that easy?
I'm already reading post's about decompiling SystemUI.apk and changing certain values. But those are obviously obsolete in ICS and only valid for Android 2.2...

Use No Moar Power by Chainfire. You can charge the phone with the device off and set a time you want the device to turn back on, aka right before your alarm goes off.
Hi,
@linker3000
I'll do
@Note_E
No, that doesn't help because I want to be able to get (emergency) calls, so I need my device powered on. But thanks for the suggestion anyway!
I don't understand why Samsung would sell this as a "feature" and not make it optional...
Greetz,
Mad
I wonder if you turned the phone so the screen was facing down, would the proximity sensor stop the screen from coming on.
Or try covering the sensor with the screen facing up and see what happens.
John.

Yes, I use Bluetooth, but I'm thinking that isn't the problem, a did everything I can, format the SD, format the SD in the PC, format the SD in another phone, factory reset, reboot, disable Play Music, shut down my Bluetooth, everything, and the problem still, sometimes it's fix alone for a limited time, and then came back... Only sound I get is streaming videos and the call Ringtone...

Well, that's what I've narrowed the problem down on my phone to. If I leave bluetooth off, the issue doesn't happen. But I need bluetooth so I leave it on. All I can figure is that there is a bug with the bluetooth software when it interacts with the alert volume when connecting and disconnecting.
