Where is my memory? - XPERIA X2 General

After some MMS received my internal memory is slightly smaller.
I cannot trace those MMS logs I could easily delete on X1...
Today I wanted to try out Softmaker Word application
installed on memory card.
The app gave me the error saving file (no memory message!)
so I uninstalled this, removing also app files from memory card and internal.
However now my internal storage is over 3MB smaller.
How to get it back?

been rob for 14mb by xdaII

XDAII default setup
there a folder call storage card
and it's taking 14mb of space
how do i deleted that, and free 14mb?
i have sd 1gb card, which is in another name. so i don't need to storage card folder.
the storage card folder is always there, ever since i got this xdaII without a sd card.
The folder called 'Storage card' is actually your non- volatile RAM - originally intended to store a backup your contacts and such in case of a hard reset.
Which is what the 'flahman' programs are in your startup folder - they run the backup system for your contacts and calender and such.
It is actually RAM space on board the processor chip (Or so I Believe) so you are not losing any RAM from elsewhere.
It cannot be moved, but if it really bothers you, you can remove an entry in the Registry to make it disappear.

Storage Memory Error

I've been getting an error from time to time recently, telling me I don't have enough storage memory ('critically low'). This can't be changed on the JasJar can it (M5000) like it could on most other PDA's.
I don't have all that many programs installed... so I don't want to uninstall anything... anyone know what I can do?

Where do you install your programs? What does your "memory storage" say? I have 25MB left for program and only 1.04mb for storage mem but im not being prompted that mem is critically low. For storage card, i have 334.72mb left out of my 1g since I install most of my programs and save all docs/mp3 etc there.
Storage is showing only 0.5meg free. Program has 17.8 meg free. Around 100 meg on the SD card still...
Just removed Avantgo and I now have 4.8 meg free! Damn, I should have selected it to store the data on the SD card I guess!
But, all the same, is there nothing that can be done to 'shift' the storage and program memory when needed?
@Andy, reformat your SD card. I had the same error messahe when using MS Reader and the ebooks were on the SD card. After a reformat MS Reader did not report shortage of memory (I had 20MB of RAm and about 20MB of user memory free when I had the low memory problem). This problem seems to be related to the use of the PowerSave option in situations when a file may be still open on the SD card, which I think was responsible for causing the SD card problem in the first place.

low storage memory??

all of the sudden i am getting warnings about low storage memory. i recently checked and only have 6.52mb free. how can i free up some space. the only programs i have installed are AIM, weatherpanel and newspanel. everything else is on my 1 GB card. any help?
Look for email attachments, SMS messages, pictures and videos from the camera (I set mine to use the SD card, but it keeps reverting to main memory), web browser cache.... I have found that all of these use space on the quiet.

yea i deleted 550 text messages yesterday but it didnt free up much. all my temporary intnernet files are on my card along with my pics. this is really weird
Ok, if I check the size of the directories, I get....
Application Data 2Mb
Documents and Settings 1Mb
My Documents 1.5Mb
Program Files 9.5Mb
Windows 81Mb
Connmgr and temp use 10kb between them.
And there is 1.16Mb in loose files.
I have 7.66Mb free, 34.89 used
I have total storage of 42.55Mb. The windows directory alledgedly takes up 40% of this (17Mb) as there is 64Mb reserved for the OS.
17Mb + 9.5Mb + 1.5Mb + 1Mb + 2Mb +1.1Mb = 32Mb which gives a 3Mb error (which admittedly could be a rounding error or hidden files that are still hidden despite all files being shown). If I total it all up it's 95.9Mb, 100557463 bytes and equates to 34Mb of memory used. I get the sneaking suspicion that WM5 is making the numbers up.
hmm.. i just opend PIE and deleted all temp internet files. and it cleared up 22mb. i guess not all the files were stored on the memory card. thanks for the tip

I just tried it, cleared up 3.7Mb. Wouldn't mind, but I don't even use PIE (I use Opera).

8525 Internal Memory

in the 8525 there is about 48MB available for storage and 48MB available for running prgrams. ive been installing everything in the storage card, still somehow there is only 2MB of storage space left, ANY IDEA ???
doesn't make sense...is that 2mb left on the card? what rom are u using? and what setting do u see only 2mb out of 48mb space left?
Depends on what apps... Some STILL save on the Hermes despite you selecting memory card... You may have to manually move them over and create shortcuts using a file explorer...
Tomtom6 did this and I've had a couple of other apps do so too.
Cheers...
Have you cleared your browser cache? It can really eat up memory.
Here are some other things to look out:
- Unless you go to messaging, menu, options, storage, and check the use storage card to store attachments, all attachments will be saved on the phone memory.
- Relocate the browser cache to the storage card, using advanced configuration. If your rom doesn't include it, look in this forum for it.
- synchronized files on activesync are stored on the storage memory. Use 3rd party programs to synch them to the storage card (like Pocket Controller).

Any custom ROM which allow to use SD card completely?

Hello Guys,
my P8 is currently running out of memory. I have inserted a 64GB SD Card and I've already set the main memory path to SD Card BUT as of an update has been released for any of my apps, the app will be moved back from external memory to internal.
I also recognized the external storage cannot be used completely as internal storage.
To be honest, my P8 is currently so slow, it doesn't make fun to use this phone any more Also no way to free up some internal space.

What else have you tried so far to free up space?
Certain apps (especially music, video & photo ones) can accumulate a lot of unnecessary cache (& sometimes data), so clearing this up can help a lot - you can use the inbuilt 'Phone Manager' for this or a third-party cleaning app. For cleaning app data, you may want to be more careful, checking each one individually before deciding to clean (ask if in doubt).
Also, in the 'Phone Manager' app > Storage > Storage manager, you can view what kinds of files are taking up the most space in the internal storage. Then decide to move whatever is possible to the external card - using something like the free ES File Explorer app you can move all camera-taken photos+videos (plus other photos+videos if present), music, personal documents & probably everything in the Download folder to the external card.
