Elf turns off when you turn the screen off. Any thoughts before I take back my Elf?

As the title says, I have an Elf & when you press the power button (which is meant to turn the screen on and off) it shuts the device off instantly.
I first tried doing a hard reset
Then I tried another rom, to see if it was to do with the OS
& then I tried two other roms.
Ive still got the same problem.
Thinking of taking it back to the place I got it.
Anyone got any thoughts on any solution before I take it back?
Im thinking its a hardware problem that I cant really solve.

which spl are you using? I had a similar prob when i upgraded my rom to 6.1, but aftr using 3.07 spl, problems were gone..

I was using 3.07, but it doesnt matter now.
I took it back to the shop (with all accessories etc) and they replaced it for me. I feel bad about hastling them.
I took them an Elf, but apparently they have given me a Elfin, but on their system, they both just come up as p3450
But it works! thats the main thing.
and its gold and shiny.

Maybe somebody know how to solve this problem without turn elf back to the shop?)

I had exactly this problem before I knew I have an Elfin.
I flashed Elf Roms on my Elfin, that caused the problem.
It boots regularly, but it will do a soft reset every X
minutes. Then I flashed an Elfin Rom and everything
works fine ^^

Maybe I'm wrong, but i think its Elf. It has 64Ram & 128 Flash, or they may not correctly view after flash or i dont understand differences?
It boots regulary every X minutes because it goes to sleepeng mode if device is not using. If this option off, it will not boot by its own, only if i press power button(

I tried to update my Shadow by the new wm6.1 rom.. the first time it went to 100% and restart with an error 270 : the image is corrupt . After, when I boot loader, it go to 2% and restart every time ( many) :
I'm stucked at bootloader mode and tried many roms but no one sucsess ... all of them reach 2% and then stopped.
even I tried the original one (Shadow_Software_Update_1.11.531.5.exe) from t-mobile official site but also same result.
so can any one help me and give me any solution to try?

I already tried to do this but...
* How can I upload sspl/uspl to my phone from bootloader because it's the only mode I can work my phone?
* when I tried to do USPL + RUU it go to 100% and then the phone restart and the RUU program says corrupted image...
then the phone stays in it's state (only can go to bootloader mode).
can I use MTTY program to flash sspl/uspl and USPL and then the new rom? if yes .. how I can do it?
Or what may I do my friend..

if you can only get to the bootloader then try flashing to the t mobile rom, then start over

the screen is freeze with the Windows 6.5 Logo, and thats it!!!!
what can i do for do a hard reset?????? (i already do that thing, power it on, and then push the 2 soft buttons, and didn't work!),

Power off the phone
Press and hold the camera and voice keys
Insert the USB cable, Keep holding the camera and voice keys until you get the bootloader screen
Then flash an original ROM.

help -- my phone stucks in lock screen

Hi!
i put a new rom 2 days ago onto my phone with wm6.5.
yesterday i lock the screen and now i can not access my phone.
it stucks on the lock screen where i am able to enter the code but not to the home screen anymore.
as it was new rom'ed i didn't plugged in to the active sync
any ideas how to flash the device??

sorry for u pal.do this.take ur battery out.insert it again.make sure ur batteey is charged fully.now dont switch on the phone.press green & red keeys at the same time and push on the power button.do then what comes on the screen.this will hard reset ur cell.

Screen autolock on Pure...

With my current ROM the screen locks when the phone is put into sleep mode. When I wake it up I have to slide a bar to unlock the screen.
What steps do I need to take to remove the screen autolock?

Mine doesn't do that with the current (stock) pure rom.
Did you leave out many details? Perhaps directed to a specific thread in the rom forum if you flashed a new rom?

Hi everyone in a panic but am trying to stay calm lol...
So i think i have over tinkered and broken my phone....
I am able to get to the boot loader by powering on and holding down the volume button and it will allow me to flash radio and rom to it but it never boots after just hangs and says loading please wait..
I have tried roms
chuckyrom 23148 tabtasitc
OzDroid 2.00
and radio's
2-11-50-26
2-11-50-26
and the same thing with these in any combo
I have ran task 29.. and have to admit i am left a bit worried now... any advice would be great i am going to read the rom section and try and get a new rom and radio combo...
Any Ideas ...

Okay phone seems to be flashing... but task 29 is not seeming to wipe my phone correctly it is still left with the chucky room splash screen after a task 29 i thought this should go white

First thing, your phone is fine - since you can get into bootloader mode.
What version of the HD2 do you have - is it the T-Mobile USA version?
Have you installed HSPL on your phone?
Go to the HTC website for your location and download the ROM for your phone (if your phone is unbranded then download the HTC ROM or if it is branded then download the mobile operator's branded version of the ROM). NOTE: If you are using a TMOUS phone, then double make sure that you are downloading the USA version of the T-Mobile ROM.
Bootup your phone into Bootloader Mode, then connect to your computer via the USB cable. Run the downloaded ROM. Ignore the connected via activesync in the warnings.

Hi i have a O2 uk hd 2 i thought the phone was okay as the laod was coming up and it seems to be writing to it... hm strange it just says loading but the red writing does not appear on the bottom left to say rom and radio version...

Hi have downloaded and flashed the o2 rom from the HTC website it seems to have gone okay BUT now when it boots it is just stuck on the O2 splash screen and goes no further..
I have now removed this from usb and re inserted the sim card and am getting this at the bottom

Okay so I have now got a stock o2 rom from htc on my phone. and it is working.
Thank you Fred_up for the advice... should i now be able to start again trying to load a custom rom back on to the device to enable me to use android again?

Try doing a hard reset. While phone is Off, hold Volume up & Volume down buttons, then tap the Power button.
In Bootloader Mode, what does it say?

pull off battery and wait 5 minutes. let the phone cool and the insert back the battery.
it should be alright. however everytime your phone overheating its freeze again..
any solution to that let me know.

cool off your phone. take out the baterry and then once the phone is cool insert the battery and it will boot again.
now hd2 have this problem. overheating. the phone will freeze. hd2 now need freezer to make it not freeze.
