HTC HD2 ROM Upgrade Fail on O2

Hello All,
Just wondering if you can help, I have tried to upgrade my HTC HD2. I installed HSPL on the phone, the phone was hacked fine, all went well. I downloaded the Energy Rom, all started to install fine, then it started to load it up for the first time, and then restarted. Now the HD2 won't connect to Active Sync and is just on the O2 Welcome screen and doesn't go any further, any ideas of how I can sort this out please?

flash a compatible radio. check in the first post of your roms thread, the chef will probably recomend one.
power off, hold vol down, tap power keeping vol down, this boots you to bootloader.
when the word 'serial' turns to 'usb' flash the radio.
restart the phone.

ok let me start by saying im new to this type of thing
Basically i have been wanting to get some cool apps and themes etc for my HTC HD2 T-Mobile uk phone for a while now.
I searched and found this awesome site etc..
After messing about for a good 3-4 hours on finding what means what i got windows mobile downloaded lots of Roms and alot of head scratching figuring out what it all means.
After alot of messing about i got Windows mobile to reconise my phone and i flashed my phone and put a Rom on (which i cant remember which now>_< )
Then the problems started to happen, Windows mobile stopped detecting my phone altogeter.
So i tried changing USB ports/Activating faster sync in the phone settings and trying over and over, Nothing!!
So i thought i would restart my phone and computer.
Restarted my computer and looked to see my phone had got stuck on the boot screen. After 10minutes of waiting for the phone to start i took the battery out and tried that and same thing over and over.
I then tried holding down volume buttons and reseting and it finally started after i reset it.
I i thought i would restart it again and the same thing happened! so i thought i would try a hard reset.. Done that and nothing, still the same thing >_<
Now im stuck with a crap interface that i can't use and i can basically never turn my phone off because it gets stuck.
Please someone help this noob out and put a end to my frustration on what to do!

right sounds like you havent got the right radio for you're ROM,
Can you remember what ROM it was you flashed? if not shouldnt be to much of a struggle
turn you're phone off hold the volume down button and keep holding turn the phone off, and if you get the coloured screen you're safe and we can sort this out

the first mistake many people make is flashing an all singing and dancing cooked rom and think that's it.
if a rom unlocks the extra ram, (or says tmous compatible, or says the rom Is based on 2.x..).they all mean the same thing - the radio must be a tmous radio, i.e. one with ..50.. in the version number.
all non tmous phones come with radios with ..51.. version numbers, and hence boot problems until you change the radio.
(think yourself lucky, if you flash our radio to a tmous it kills the phone)
next time, read the rom thread for recommended radio. it will be in the first or second post.

I haven't had time to sort this out until today and im so confused and just need some help explaining what and how i will do this.
My phone doesn't boot unless i hold down the volume buttons and reset it and then wait 5minutes for it to restore everything.
From what i gather i need to change my Radio rom so my phone starts properly.
Ok i get that .. but how do i put a radio rom on my phone if my PC does not reconise the phone in windows mobile? (just says not connected)
I can get the phone to show up on my computer if i change it to "disk Drive"
but not if i use active sync.
So please someone explain to how i can get my phone showing up so i can put a new Radio rom on to my phone using windows mobile?

you can flash from bootloader. phone doesnt need to be booted.
boot into biootloader, flash the radio, done.

[Q] HELP!!!

my hd2 shut down twice by it self today but after second shut down the phone is not booting completely it stays on after the two boot screens, it stays on the orange windows page and not finish boot. ( 2.13 stock rom)
i did like 10 hard resets and nothing
maybe or my only solution is to flash another ROM, im thinking the 3.14 upgrade cuz i was on 2.13.
i did upgrade from 2.10 to 2.13 but my phone was on and sync with my pc (this was like 7 months ago)
i just want to know if i can upgrade to 3.14 with the phone in the three color screen boot screen or i have to do the whole hspl thing and flash a custom rom??

Flashing from bootloader is how ANY ROM flashes. Put your device in bootloader, connect via USB, and flash away!

i did flash my phone before but it was up and running but because it was an upgrade form the tmobile site the phone went to bootloader by it self and not by me so i was confused if i do it directly been on bootloader it will work but now i know

ok, so i flashed the stock upgrade 3.14 ROM from TMOUS site but problem didn't go away, it crashed, it shutdown by it self and not turning on, not even vibrate or went to boot page it just didn't do anything , so i waited almost a day to turn it back on and the phone did turn on but i tried it in bootloader and flashed a custom ROM (BlueTopia 1.0.2 by cmylxgo) and it was working like a charm with android
BUT silly me i took the storage card out without turning the phone off and android running so when i realize i did it i put it back but phone was off and now it don't want to turn on. I'll wait like 15 min to try turn it back on and see what happens...
could it be a software thing?? i'm starting to think is hardware problem because it happened with 3 different ROMs?
does anyone had this problem before??

hi there, im new here and ive been searching on the forum for a long time, but i didnt see any solution for my problem... (or maybe i was blind) so when i was trying to flash back original ROM from bootloader screen through USB, it didnt show my current image version info on the screen, but it did show the image version that im going to upgrade... however, i still let it updated and it said its succeed. but when my phone going to reboot, it stuck on the "stick together" screen... btw, my phone is PB81120 SS-B3 SPL-2.08. HSPL 8G XE. hope someone can help me solve my problem... thanks first :]

Go into bootloader again and connect the device to your PC via usb (should show USB at the the bottom in bootloader) and run the Rom Update Utility again. But first make sure the ROM is compatible with TmoUS Hd2.
I would recommend flashing stock from the bootloader just to be safe.

but i was trying to install T-Mobile_HD2_MR_Software_2.13.531.1 under bootloader, and it still the same... :[

Was that what you origonally tried updating to? Or was it a custom rom you had tried?

that was the latest i tried to updating to, or any different kinds of version of original ROMs... before, i tried to update a custom ROM on it first, but it failed :[ actually, when i first got my phone it was unlocked, so while i was waiting to get the unlock code for it, i decided to install android on it... later on i had successfuly putting android on it, and by that time i got my unlock code too. then i typed it in and my phone just reboot and stuck on the "stick together" screen till now... so i started to look through the forum and found out that most ppl said is to reflash the ROM back to the original one first, and then everything would be alright... but i guess it didnt work on my phone D:

Have you tried a hard reset? (Hold both volume buttons while booting)

don't worry, your problem is resolvable. (as long as you see something on screen, you are lucky.)
1) When the stick together screen comes, do you see any numbers on left bottom after waiting for some time say 1 min.
if yes, then your problem is missing OS image only.
in this case, take out the battery. after that, keep volume down pressed all the time and insert battery again. press power button, if mobile does not start immediately. please keep volume down button pressed till the time tricolor screen does not come on. after that connect cable to computer and update normally.
2) If you don't see any number, it may mean multiple things, which all are resolvable. (most likely bootloader stuck in another mode.)
in any case, try steps in given in 1 and report back. before reporting back please install mtty on your computer as it is needed to send commands to mobile to get out of this mode.

[Q] HTC HD2 T8585 freezing issues after flashing to any radio xx.50.xx

Hello, my friend brings me HTC HD2 T8585 yesterday. It seems like it's not T-mobile (white "call" and "end" buttons, no t-mobile label on the top). It freezes on "Energy star", just writes ROM and radio version on the bottom left and freezes. Now it has radio 2.09.51.xxx. If I try to update it to xx.50.xx it stops switching on, recognising by USB and charging at all. Totally bricked. But I have found strange way to reanimate it. I'm pulling battery out (for 5-10 minutes), reset HD2 few times by red button, insert it back, push reset few times again, plug USB cable inside, charging battery 5 minutes by external 5V adapter is also helps sometimes (now it has 3.85V), and sometimes it possible to switch it on (1 time on 10 tryings). When it switched on, it's possible to update radio back to xx.51.xx version and after that it switches on very distinctly, but freezes on Energy star again (it refuses to boot any flashed rom). It's possible to install android on this HTC with xx.50.xx radio. I did it and it works (but freezes then I'm trying to make a call). Of course to boot android on xx.50.xx I need to pull and insert battery, press reset and make special magic dance...
I have a loop here: to boot android I need new Radio Update.
To switch the phone on without magic spells I need old 2.09.51 Radio.
Sometimes it's possible to boot firmware on 2.09.51. I don't know how i got it, but after 5 minutes of freezing on "energy star" it booted up stock firmware i flashed before.
I don't know what to do. Is it hardware failure?

I'm not sure what you have, but there's no "energy star" on my device?!
any screenshots for the device/the screen that it freezes on?

by energy star, do you mean the energy rom boot screen? The energy rom WILL NOT boot with a ..51.. radio. It must have a ..50.. radio for it to work.
OR - have you been flashing custom boot screens? there is an 'energy star' bootscreen, made to look like a PC bios boot screen, is that what you mean?
flashing a radio without HSPL, , you are mistaken, that cannot be done.
we need more direct info to help, i'm afraid. Screen shots or at least full filenames of what you have flashed LAST would be great.

Okay I'll try to tell full story. This phone was previosly updated to custom W.M. 6.5 rom (by my friend's friend I don't know him directly). I don't know which rom he used. May be he changed splash screen (wow I found it! i always thought it's real boot time proccess for HTC HD2 ) . Yesterday my friend brought this phone to me with two problems: 1: slow and not stable booting (sometimes it freezed on splash screen 2: After (and if) it loads WM, it crashes in very short time to screen full of green colour. So I tryed to install Hyper Droid. First I downloaded HSPL4 and updated HSPL from 1.66.0000 to 2.08.HSPL . After that I tryed to install MAGLDR and phone showed only Energy Star splash screen. After short googling I decided to update radio. After updating it to 2.15.50 phone switched off and i was not able to switch it on (like described in this post). I disconnected battery and after few tryings it switched on and loads MAGLD, i prepared partition (150MB file) and update zipped rom from SD card. Between these steps I disconnected battery many times, because it was impossible to switch phone on after reboot. I spend about 2 hours and Android was installed but phone freezed after 2 minutes (charging animation stoped and it didn't respond on buttons). Also I got 100% freezing then I tryed to make a call.
I tryed different version of Radio (about 7) and found 2.x.51.x working more stable (phone switching on by pressing button or connecting usb cable) . 2.x.50.x all have same switching on issues ;( . Now I updated HSPL to 3.03.HSPL and found that it (?) resolved issue with charging LED (it stayed ON after usb cable disconnecting) . Now I'm downloading stock 1.66 region free firmware and will try to flash it..

I found LEO of my friend is from Singapoure (thanks this) ) s/n: SH0CLNW03xxx . I tryed my s\n on htc singapoure support site and now i'm downloading original firmware!

After further researching I decided this phone has battery/mainboard failure. It freezes and makes green screen of death randomly, especialy often under high power consuption or while disconnecting USB cable. I flashed Rom directly from SD card, because usb update didn't work for me. Now it has stock firmware with stock splash screen. 3.03.0000 SPL and 2.15.50 radio. I'm giving up. Thank you all, here are a lot of useful information.

Did you do a hard reset after flashing the stock ROM. if that didn't do the trick, you could send it to maintenance now that it has stock WinMo on it.

Yes i did hard reset, it didn't help, I think it's need a bit work with soldering dryer. May be CPU or other chip has bad connection to mainboard... I've found i can get 100% GSOD by shacking phone or knocking its back cover. I don't know why it has difference with 51 and 50 radio. Now if it's freezed i'm pulling out the battery for one minute, and it switches on with 95% warranty. With radio 51 it switches on without need of battery removing.
