ok let me start by saying im new to this type of thing
Basically i have been wanting to get some cool apps and themes etc for my HTC HD2 T-Mobile uk phone for a while now.
I searched and found this awesome site etc..
After messing about for a good 3-4 hours on finding what means what i got windows mobile downloaded lots of Roms and alot of head scratching figuring out what it all means.
After alot of messing about i got Windows mobile to reconise my phone and i flashed my phone and put a Rom on (which i cant remember which now>_< )
Then the problems started to happen, Windows mobile stopped detecting my phone altogeter.
So i tried changing USB ports/Activating faster sync in the phone settings and trying over and over, Nothing!!
So i thought i would restart my phone and computer.
Restarted my computer and looked to see my phone had got stuck on the boot screen. After 10minutes of waiting for the phone to start i took the battery out and tried that and same thing over and over.
I then tried holding down volume buttons and reseting and it finally started after i reset it.
I i thought i would restart it again and the same thing happened! so i thought i would try a hard reset.. Done that and nothing, still the same thing >_<
Now im stuck with a crap interface that i can't use and i can basically never turn my phone off because it gets stuck.
Please someone help this noob out and put a end to my frustration on what to do!
right sounds like you havent got the right radio for you're ROM,
Can you remember what ROM it was you flashed? if not shouldnt be to much of a struggle
turn you're phone off hold the volume down button and keep holding turn the phone off, and if you get the coloured screen you're safe and we can sort this out
the first mistake many people make is flashing an all singing and dancing cooked rom and think that's it.
if a rom unlocks the extra ram, (or says tmous compatible, or says the rom Is based on 2.x..).they all mean the same thing - the radio must be a tmous radio, i.e. one with ..50.. in the version number.
all non tmous phones come with radios with ..51.. version numbers, and hence boot problems until you change the radio.
(think yourself lucky, if you flash our radio to a tmous it kills the phone)
next time, read the rom thread for recommended radio. it will be in the first or second post.
I haven't had time to sort this out until today and im so confused and just need some help explaining what and how i will do this.
My phone doesn't boot unless i hold down the volume buttons and reset it and then wait 5minutes for it to restore everything.
From what i gather i need to change my Radio rom so my phone starts properly.
Ok i get that .. but how do i put a radio rom on my phone if my PC does not reconise the phone in windows mobile? (just says not connected)
I can get the phone to show up on my computer if i change it to "disk Drive"
but not if i use active sync.
So please someone explain to how i can get my phone showing up so i can put a new Radio rom on to my phone using windows mobile?

you can flash from bootloader. phone doesnt need to be booted.
boot into biootloader, flash the radio, done.

I have read and read and read. I have "bricked" my phone in the past and fixed it. I have used, tested, and flashed many roms from this site (Thanks to all cooks for their work!) but I still consider myself somewhat 'new' to troubleshooting.
I woke up this morning to make some important phone calls today and as luck would have it, my phone was stalled again. It's been doing that for a few weeks now. My last flash was Open Touch 5.0 UL I believe (either that or 5.2 biggy) and it has been working great except for the occasional freeze.
EDIT: Forgot to add, the actual problem is now it won't boot up after it froze this morning. Just sits at the boot screen
So I've tried my other methods of fixing it... /edit
Except this morning nothing is working. I have tried flashing with Orig. T-mobile ruu, tried SD flashing with the RUU_signed.nbh, tried restarting the computer, phone, removing battery and sim... NOTHING! When trying the sd flash (which I've never done before today, it reads and tells me to push the down button but then goes to bootloader screen and just sits there. With the RUU I'm getting err 300 but I'm using the SAME RUU (4.10...) that I've used in the past to reflash my phone AND tried the new one (4.26...)
Possible problem: Does it matter what kind of usb cable you use? I don't have the normal one I use as I am not home but I figured usb is usb...
I've read about it being a motherboard issue, how common is this?
I've read somethings about MTTY, would this apply to me??
Please help, anyone who has any suggestion, I'll try it!!

Thats basically what mine did. The colors would get messed up and no matter what button i pressed it would not do anything. My advice to you edrift, is BACK UP YOUR STUFF NOW and reflash it asap if you can still reboot. I can get into my phone at all now.

ok i have a issue with my fone my phone is stuck on the tri-colored screen which says:

well i am as u can see im not good with tech. stuff like this but i would like sum advice or ideas on how to fix my problem. well here is how it all happened. my fone started off fine, out of the blue it started turning off by itself, then coming back on. it will reboot fine then as soon as i touch the screen or try to text or call it shut off on me. first i thought my battery was dying. that didnt work kept it on the charger switched out the battery, still nothing ended up doing the same. so a fren told me to hard reset or press the ok button pwr n the reset button at bottom using the stylst. now im stuck in bootloader mode after i ran a program:
HARD-SPL-MFG
and was told to flash the fone, which i had no idea what to do the person who was helping me i didnt hear frm again n i was stuck in this tricolored screen what should i do? i just want my phone up and running so i can use it once again...if thats possible..it be great i love the phone n dnt want the money i invested into it wasted

If I had to guess, it sounds like you have installed a SPL that is not compatible with your existing radio and rom.
First thing is I would try downloading the stock rom for your phone, I believe you can download this from HTC's website, I would download the newest and the one prior to it. Try installing the older of the 2 first since your SPL that you do have is older, and if it fails to install, then try the newer of the two.
If it still fails, come back here and I'm sure somebody else can give you more advice.

ok since i got this phone i have had problems,but i updated it to 6.1 and it got better (locking up all the time)then i played with a bunch of custom roms,then the other day it just decided not to turn on at all,before it would just lock up at the htc screen,now when i turn it on the green light is on and nothing happnes?? i force it in the loader screen and have tryed getting it to take a rom that way and it just gets stuck and says loading but dosnt do anything? the update utilitly does not work either it keeps saying image is currupt?

What version bootloader do you have? What image are you trying to load in bootloader.
i have opilo_240. i cant load any image nothing will take,no roms no radio no nothing
Are you sure you are naming it correctly and on a 2GB or less FAT32 sd card.
i have tryed it a million times, yes i have been typing it right.it recognizes it and starts to load it but then locks up. is there a way i can get this loader off the phone and take it back to original? maybe the loader is crap so if i try and put a original loader back in it will take a install again but i cant find any thing
Not possible that I know of to change bootloader without softspl which needs WM to run.
Where are you getting these images? What is your provider. Please update this in your profile so we can help easier.
my provider is metro pcs but its a sprint phone,i have tryed the sprint/htc 6.1 update then i tryed a couple of ryan mogul 6.5 roms.see since i got this phone (used) it had problems loading from the htc screen,sometimes i would have to soft reset about 5 times before it would load the o/s then sometimes it would go days without a problem,it did this with the stock image then got better with the 6.1 and thought it was good then i played with a couple roms and they all loaded ok but the phone was getting worse when locking up it would do it all the time,then i went back to the 6.1 sprint rom and it didnt get better just worse,then it wouldnt get past the htc screen,so i tryed again to put back to stock and now when i turned the phone on it vibrates then just the green light turns on,when i try and hard reset it just instantly says complete,i can boat to loader and connect to pc fine but when i try and load a image from cpu it goes to 1% then stops and says image file is corrupt, is my phone junk? i have a brand new touch pro coming today but i would like to get this mogul up and running its just a shame cause i loved this phone when it worked,im ready to throw it in the garbage
Get the .nbh from the following sprint .exe and try it on the sd card. If you can get into bootloader your phone shouldnt be a brick. Mtty might be an option but that isnt something I can teach you how to do very well.

A friend of mine has a HD2, never HSPL or anything and still running on 1.42 rom.... Now everytime it boots it goes straight into the bootloader. Since its never been messed around with I find it odd, seen it before with people with other phones. Would this just be a corrupted ROM and therefore it goes there, would if poss a stock rom flash be able to restore the phone, if that is not the case then a warranty return is still valid, but obv not wanted.
What do you think, will this work? I did search but everyone's posts come up with I task 29 and now stuck... etc and not from a stock bootloader as well!

First thing I would check is if his volume button is stuck for some reason. Second would be to see if it detects a USB connection, then hard spl and new rom from that point. Keep us posted.

The post above me is correct check and make sure the volume down button is not stuck/Hung in the down position. If it is stuck in the down position like it is being held down at boot then this is the cause of it going straight to bootloader at boot up. If there is no problem with the volume down button then try a hard reset of the HD2. Warning this will reset your friends HD2 tolike it was fresh out the box so any photos, videos, documents, and etc that is not on the SD card they will lose. Also any contacts that are not backed up withan app like Microsoft My Phone will be lost. To do the reset while the HD2 is off bold the volume up and the volume down buttons down and press and bold the power button down. When you see the tri color screen come up release the volume and power buttons and follow the instructions on the screen (hint: you will want to press the vume up button). Now if after the Hard reset your friends HD2 still goes to bootloader at boot up then download and flash the stock ROM for their HD2 you can find it on HTC.com but make sure you varifiy that it is for their HD2 by entering the serial number of their HD2 you can find the serial number look under the battery. To flash the ROM let the HD2 boot up to the bootloader and then connect it to the computer via USB cable and wait for the Serial in the white bar of the boooader screen to change to USB and for your computer to show it recognize the pbone and then run the .exe or RUU wich everone the ROM has.
Never thought of the key being held done will try that first.
Also I won't HSPL'ing as its in warranty and a half HSPL'ed phone is well useless
OK so i feel like a bit of an idiot for this one. Turns out what I call a bootloader and he does is totally different. For me Its the tri-colour screen, for him its the red/orange windows boot screen. So it was all solved by a HR. Great..

I installed maglar 1.12 on my hd2 using the nbh file method... now my hd2 wont turn off it just restarts as soon as you turn it off or put the battery back in.... when in magldr the button lights flash repeditally.... I can still flash roms using maglr usb method but when the roms are booted up the button lights are on constantly even in sleep, it seems to recive random input, and you cant put it in sleep mode and when it goes into sleep mode naturally you cant turn it back on........ My first thought was to try and to go back to stock but because I dont have a windows mobile rom on I cant use the active sync method and for some weird reason it wont go to the bootloader(yes I know how to get to the bootloader I am not and idiot)........ so I am stuck and dont know what to do

Bro, try flashing any windows mobile 6.5.* rom on your hd2..
To do so, enter hd2 in bootloader mode,
Keep pressing DOWN + POWER when device is switchd off initially
and flash any rom.

People he can not flash anything having to do with flashing via the SPL bootloader, this is why Orangekid and I both asked what happens when the OP trys to boot into bootloader.

sorry, like others have mentioned, what exactly happens from start to finish when you try and get in to the boot loader, yes i know you said you know how to do it
but humour us, start to finish, buttons you push, whats on teh screen, everything.
sounds like something in the SPL has been screwed, been a lot of that recently which is a bit odd.
I can not get to the bootloader
I know that I cant get to the bootloader I tried the way you said above again and it just goes stright to magldr so I can not flash back to stock ........ I took it to a phone repair guy who said he fixed it and it appeared like he did but then two hours later it started again .......

Ok everyone as you can see he can not get the SPL bootloader to come up.
I will help you out with your Youtube link too.
I am very sorry to tell you but without being able to get to the bootloader you can not flash a official ROM back to the HD2 so you can not send it in for warranty exchange our repair. That is unless there is some miracle program out there that you can run from your computer to force the bootloader to bootup, which i have never heard of one. (Note to Devs that would be a awesome program to create if it is possible )
There is the bootloader.exe but you already have to have a Sync type connection for it to work and i don't know if the connection you get using Zune is enough. I attached the a EnterBootloader.zip file but like I said i don't know if it will help you are not. Try connecting and syncing your HD2 with Zune and then try to run the EnterBootloader.exe from your computer and see what happens.

Is there a way I could update or change magldr without the bootloader? or is there any sort of windows mobile rom I could install through magldr like you would with android or wp7?

there is no way to flash windows 6.5 roms directly through MAGLDR..
would suggest you to get HD2 to nearby mobile repair center, hopefully they can help you out

I know someone in that can JTAG your HD2 buit he lives in Texas, but he is very good and experienced with JTAGing HD2s, PM me if you want more info as it would be against the rules for me to provide any other information in the forums.
Also I do not think you need JTAG but just need your voulume rocker fixed, but he is still the guy to do it.
the volume buttons should be easy to test within windows its self
I doubt its MAGLDR issue, it looks like an SPL issue.
could you tell me how much the jtag would cost and the volume down and up buttons work when the wp7 build is up
