my screen alignment keep out running away for like 30% from the correct point. I couldnt do anything to align back the screen as the alignment run away too muchfor me to click on setting.
I have done soft and hard reset but couldnt help..
please advise
I think you will probably have to replace the digitizer, a hard reset to the standard rom should have cleared out any software/firmware hoobies, nothing left but hardware.
Still got warranty?

after i updated to the att rom update for my brothers 8525 his screen was off meaning the image would go pass the bottom and display a little on the top. also the keys on the bottom stop working, and to top it off every so often he gets a white screen any ideas on how to fix it. i was able to get the white screen to go away if i did a hard reset but after a day or so it would go back to the same way during one of my brothers hard reset he made the reset button go down and know i cant reset the device the button is not there anymore. my 8525 with the same update works fine updated on same computer.
it's a wellknown hardware bug, see here
sent it to repairs if it's still under the warranty or try this (helped me when I was experiencing the same issues)
ok i tired that i think mine is more of a software issue is there anyway to hard reset a device without usin the reset button on the bottom.

I misunderstood, I read too quickly and missed an essential part of the post. If you dismantled you may find the microswitch is just bent out of position. I do not know another way to hard reset. Obviously if you have a warranty this might not be the thing to do!

DO you know where i can find a place on how to take it apart?

Hey all,
I haven't used my Universal for a week and the battery had gone empty. When I charged it today the screen doesn't react anymore to a stylus press, it can only be used by the keyboard. There is no response of the screen on its whole surface and there is no screen protector on it. Any suggestions for a resolution would be grateful???
And I am using a WM6 PDAVIET ROM and 1.15 Radio if it does any matter at all

Odd that, I had simlar the other day. Turn off, remove battery, re-insert battery , turn on again. Any good? Fixed mine!
Good luck

remove the screen protector if you have any and apply it again away from the edges without any part of it stuck between the plastic edge and the screen

This was the first thing I tried but unfortunately nothing changed. Then decided to try some soft resets - nothing, then a hard reset - nothing. Now am going to trq a reflash. Any other ideas??
P.S. I have never used a protector.
If it worked just after the ROM flash and has stopped now then it sounds like the touchpad has stopped working then. If it's still under warranty, get it replaced as this shouldn't happen.
You can try a re-flash first but if you have hard reset already then this is unlikely to help as the original files will be restored by hard resetting.
If it's not under warranty, then open the case and check the connections internally are correctly fitted. The screen part can be replaced fairly easily if need be.
Hi everyone.
This just started 2 days ago. This never happened before
When i turn on my phone everything is ok the screen is fine, but hen once it loads up its starts to lag. memory on the phone is not an issue. the scroll on the left side doesnt allow me to scroll down or up , the wheel moves but the on the screen nothing moves. Now the worse part is the screen.
When i turn off my screen and then turn it back on.. the colours are all messed up. the screen is a pinkish blue coulour and almost unreadable. i tried a soft reset and the screen goes back to normal but once I turn off the screen and turn it back on , i get the same problem.. Now do you think a hard reset would fix the problem?
I had this start last weekend. I had the screen issues and the hardware buttons were very sporadic in function. Most of the time they just didn't work.
I flashed back from Black Satin to the T-Mobile rom and sent it off for repair. Should hear back next week as to the outcome.
Is your under warranty? Just send it away.
Only downside is I've only got a Blackberry Pearl as a backup at the moment.....
The above advice is good. Before going for warranty repair though you should do a hard reset to rule out a software issue.

No its not under warranty. I have no idea what rom is on it. I-MATE ROM is what shows up when it boots up. So it sounds like a hard reset will be the first choice. im not very familiar with these things so pardon if i sound a bit off. i wouldnt even know how to flash or anything like that.
Well i tried to hard reset and it it seems not to be letting me do that.
just hold the left and right soft key and press the reset button at the same time and wait for a prompt to pop up.. nothing it just soft resets.. now im getting a bit frustrated.

Well, I assume you have tried a few times. It's difficult sometimes to get them all simultaneously pressed. Incidentally, just in case there's any confusion - the soft keys are actually the hard keys with dashes on the D-Pad.
Another way is to go to Sart>Settings>System>clear storage icon.
Just bear in mind that if there is a major problem it may fail completely and you end up with even more of a problem than now - but I guess there is no choice really.

Recently I have to press stylus on the screen very hard to do any action- go to start/contacts and so on, sometimes it is so bad I have to do a soft reset, after which it is ok for few moments and goes back to press as hard as you can. After aligning screen it is better for only very short while.
What is happening? Can an old system version have anything to do with it? Should I do a master reset or what?
I hope someone will have a good anwser for those problems.
Do You have any screen protector on Your device [ something like Brando ]?
I do not have anything on the screen... as far as I know, I only had this foil when I bought the phone
Swistak z Angmaru???
I guess the problem narrows down to either of the two:
1:> Screen-alignment going awry
Solution: Search the forum for this issue. There are many people who were facing the problem of being forced to do screen alignment every few mins/hours
2:> Screen-sensitivity too low
Solution: As you have said that after a soft reset and screen-alignment, it works well for some time,i guess this point can be safely ruled out.Nevertheless, you can try this. There is a registry key like "PressureThreshold".Increasing the value and soft-resetting may help.
so does it mean, that screen sesitivity can change itself without my help???
how can I find reg?
This morning, my touch screen suddenly stopped working. Hardware keys are still working but device is not responding when the screen is touched. Already tried a hard reset but no success, now I am stuck at the align display screen. Also can no longer get to the bootmenu, so can't reflash my device! Any suggestions on what's wrong or how this can be fixed? Thanks for any help!!!!
I'm curious
Didn't you see any spots (like oil spots on the water) to the touch screen ?
I had the same problem .I replaced the touch screen and the phone is working again .
No, nothing, was working fine at night, when i woke up just randomly stopped working. The display is not cracked or anything, so wondering whether a screen replacement will do the trick? ALso strange that I can no longer get to the bootscreen to enter HardSPL...
Had the same problem, the issue (with mine anyhow) was the digitizer, which is an overlay that sits on top of the actual LCD screen to give it touch capability....
good post here

I had a similar problem,
To get past the Align screen I had to apply pressure to the top of the screen opposite side of front facing camera - then use the screen as normal
I reflashed the original rom (manually getting to bootloader) - it worked for a bit but ended up sending is back to 02 for repair.
All they did apparently, was to reflash the ROM again and its been working since.
Had the same problem a couple of times a while ago, when i was trying out WM6.5.
All buttons worked but not the touch screen. Never really found out exactly what the problem was, but the first time I managed to get it working again by resetting the alignment:
While gps button pressed (under green button), press center D-pad button this will bring you to alignment screen.
The other time the "alignment trick" didn't work, but i got it working again, after flashing the original ROM couple of times. (And doing hard reset between each time)
I think I used this ROM
You say you can't get to the boot menu, do you run hard-SPL?
most likely its an hardware issue - had this one too, of course out of nowhere!
flash with original rom and if you cannot align screen (as the hardware seems to be broken) send it in for repair. it will be under guarantee, if screen isnt broken.
I had similar problem, I passed the alignment but i had a huge offset in the touch.
I replaced the touch screen and it solved the problem.
You can find it in ebay for 1 US $.

Thanks for all the help guys!!! I do run hard-SPL and have flashed many ROMS - just don't know why it won't enter the bootscreen anymore when I reset the device and press the camera button. Did manage to upload original ROM again by using activesync, now trying to restore original hard-SPL so I can send off the device for repair.
Hi, i had also the same problem, i find a threat in the internet... try to push the upper corners on the device with your fingers and then tab on the screen to see if the problem solved.
I had the same issue.
Its more than likely your digitizer. I tried flashing 100 different roms but always stuck at the align screen stage.
I actually have the barely used digitizer if anyone wants it (for a few dollars of course hehe) My mainboard died a couple of weeks after i installed the digitizer.
needless to say i moved away from the ****ty build quality of HTC to the MUCH better build quality of the iPhone.
