There are creaks after a few removing the matt plastic on the back.

Hello,
I currently have a HTC Magic with a Vodafone cover, and I recently bought a new cover without the Vodafone logo.
Yesterday I disassembled my Magic to put on the new cover, but after a while I found out that the new cover (that I bought on eBay) doesn't have any metal screw holes that fit the screws. There are only plastic holes where the metal screw holes are usually in.
Is there some way to get new screw holes? I have already tried to transfer the screw holes from my old Vodafone cover, but they seem to be glued in to the housing.
I hope someone can help me out!
Thanks in advance!
I recently replaced the front cover on mine, if yours does not have the metal screw housings, you're either going to have to find a way to get them out of the old cover, or you are just going to have to return it.
Lol, I did this on my G1, but same problem for the magic.
What I did was take a small metal punch and heat it up. I then punched out the old brass screw fitting from the old phone housing. It took a couple tries, but I got the right temp so I didn't set the thing on fire. Once I had them out, I cleaned off a bit of the melted plastic that was on them. That was easy enough.
Then, I gently set the brass fittings into the holes in the new housing. They will rest level in holes. Then I heated up a steak knife until it was rather hot. I then GENTLY held the knife level against the brass without touching the plastic and in about 5 seconds the brass fitting was hot enough to start melting the plastic and it started sliding into the hole. I sunk the fitting in until it was level with the plastic rim. On one I went to far and melted the plastic a bit, but when I put it back together, it worked well enough.
I've had my HD2 for about 3 months and it started to look like the coating on the buttons was wearing, like the plastic clear coat. Anyway I scratched it off with my fingernail and the surface underneath is waaaay nicer. Just matte plastic.
Anyone else experienced this? (if not try it)
I appreciate the new glass back, but hell its slippery as lube. Already fell of my table twice. I dont understand how lol. Even fell of my wallet which is made of leather.
anyone else?
It's the same than with my previous Nexus 4.
You just have to avoid putting it on a non-horizontal surface
Yes if your hands are sweat or wet the device can be slippery sometimes. Thank god the plastic frame makes very good grip and they did very well they didn't put metal instead. I have gone running with the device many times and the plastic frame did a very good grip on my sweaty hands but when i touched the glass it felt a little slippery though.
It is extremely slippery. The vibrations caused by my surround system on my TV causes my Z3C to move across the table and fall onto the floor. I don't even have the volume very loud. I now have a rubber and metal case which fixed the issue. I usually don't use cases...but I do with this phone.
Mine almost fell off the fireplace once when it rang. I now have a Cruzerlite case installed.
Avoid putting the phone on the edge of the table and if possible use leather cases and avoid the metal and hard plastic ones. The glass makes this phone look premium and beautiful but it also has its disadvantages.
Hey guys, I dropped my Note 4 once awhile back and it left a few scratches and dents in the bezel, and some nearly-invisible abrasions on the frame. I used the green scrubby part of a sponge to get the dents and scratches out, but it looks dull on the parts I repaired - any way to get it looking shiny again? And is there any way I could remove the tiny abrasions on my aluminum frame? Thanks guys
Solvol Autosol or an equivalent metal polish.
But go easy and use a test area at the bottom.
Hi.
I have cracked the rear battery glass cover again on my S8. Its the forth time it happens. And I don't know why.
I have bought genuine battery glass covers from ebay. But it doesn't hold long before the glass cracks again.
Does anyone know if there is an reinforced (maybe aluminium or carbon)?
(Sorry for my bad english)
try putting a skin on it. https://dbrand.com/shop/samsung-galaxy-s8-skins they look nice and should work like a screen protector on it.
Make sure you are taking off the foam part of the sticky part they put on it. The glass should fit flush against the back with the thin thin layer of adhesive they put. My mistake and I cracked the first one because it flexed.

What foam? I only took plastic of the adhesive tape that was already applied on the cover. Then placed the cover on the phone
