This happens to me often where ill be browsing XDA or ESPN and my phone will freeze and i end up having to soft reset. ive already done a search and there doesnt seem to be a solution for this. i have applied some opera registry tweaks, using kumars 6.5 rom, opera build 35853. Does anyone have a solution for this?
BUMP! Anybody have any solutions, maybe if i reset the memory tweaks for opera back to defaults? Would that help?
Try installing Opera to your sd card and not the device.......it worked for me !

I also use Duttys V2.6 and do not experience this. Did you hard reset phone twice after flashing? What other software have you installed?
Have you tried asking people in Duttys rom to see if others are experiencing this?
I'm using Dutty 2.7, I face the same problem too. After some surfing and exiting Opera using menu, it freezes randomly. Had to take out battery to reset the phone... It's a fresh install btw...
did you by any chance install the diamond d3d driver and the 2 dll that came with it? i had the same problem and traced the problem to the d3d driver and the 2 dll. i uninstalled the driver and deleted the 2 dll from windows folder and opera did not freeze my hd on exit of opera.
Yea I did install d3d. Will uninstall d3d and try again... hope it's not due to d3d as it's such a must-have for 3d apps...
I downloaded the 4kb HTCAPI.DLL and signed it with MSigner, and it became 7KB. Am using it now, will post result if my Opera still freezes upon exit.

I've tried to change the settings in the zoomer program but to no avail.
Really annoyed and REALLY don't wanna have to hard reset my HD2... please help me!

Same thing happened to me mate. (It was after I tried the Opera 10 beta, but I don't know for sure that that was the cause of the problem).
Zooomer only activates the system style zooming, as opposed to what you're expecting in Opera (it makes the whole window zoom in and out, not just the page.) Besides, that apparently only works for apps that aren't installed as part of the core.
Sorry to not offer any help that you're gonna wanna hear, but I did do a hard reset to fix the problem, and I couldn't find any other way round it.
Hope you do though.

unfortunately, the only way i found to solve this problem was to hard reset the device.
Maybe a hard reset to sort your problem ?
In a few days HTC will come out with an update rom. You will have to
install in anyway like hard reset. So what is the problem?

i have find the solution ,you have change the settings of opera ,go to option in the navigator the ,turn off the mobile view,and then enjoy
As of this morning... opera on my HD2 will not load. I get the HTC Quietly brilliant screen for about 30 seconds then it just goes back to the home screen.
any ideas anyone?

yeah tried that. made the phone run a bit quicker but opera still won't load.
I experienced this the day after I enstall the newest hotfix called SMS hotfix. Every time I started Opera it hung and then when back to the Homepage. Tried everything but nothing worked so I hard reset the phone installed all the hotfixes again, then the software I had download and all is working fine now. Must be something the SMS Hotfit does but unfortunately once this hotfix is installed you can't go back on it as it updates the radio.

Today I had the same problem. I did delete the cache folder but it didn't work, so I re-installed opera with a cab found here and it worked.

I have a similar issue, only mine hangs on the "quietly brilliant" skin. The only thing I've changed in my HD2 in the recent days is installing WMLongLife. I'll uninstall it and report back.
Well I didn't even install or uninstall anything in days when it happened. This morning Opera was working, and 2 hours laters it didn't anymore. No reason at all...
So what the hell is going on? Some 29.01.10-bug? I haven't used my opera since wednesday, but the problem also occured this morning.
I have soft reseted many times, deleted cache, also uninstalled WMLongLife to no improvement.
I'm on stock 1.48 EastEurope rom - though I don't see how that can be relevant, since everything's been working for over a month now.
Any ideas?
Opera stopped running here, too, yesterday morning.
Was surfing the web, opera slowed right down, device went slow, I shut opera down using the x button.
Tried to restart opera and it stalled for about 1 min then stopped trying.
Reset, deleted the cache, no joy. Installed opera 9.7 cab, same issue, opera stalled for 1 min then stopped trying.
Ended up doing a hard reset followed by a sprite backup just in case.
Same here, Opera suddenly stopped working, still on original UK 1.43 ROM.
I am using IE now, any help to restore it back, please?

got the black screen problem with opera9.exe, not it just hangs on the "quietly brilliant" Loading...

EDIT: ok fixed it..
installed opera 10 beta, nice looking but no pinch n zoom.
uninstalled opera10
installed opera9.7 prompted to softboot did so, now 9.7 working, pinch n zoom n all
Any solutions?
BTW how to reinstall opera 9.7? Is it possible without reflashing the rom?

EDIT:
I run my opera again and "let it be". After a couple of minutes i returned to my device to
find it back in Sense with a message "Opera Mobile: Invalid Signature". Afterwards I couldn't run
ANY program with a message "Can't find ***.exe - file is missing or there is no digital signature".

My solution - hard reset + spb backup from 2 days before the problem (system set up exactly the same) and opera works like a charm. I'm waiting to see if it's going to happen again. Pretty damn strange.
This one happened to me for the first time after flashing stock 1.66 GER. But the solution was finally deleting the cache ( which I've already removed to the storage card...)
Lets see wheter it comes again. But indeed really strange...

I can't remember where the original cache is located because i transferred mine in the storage card.
open file explorer --> storage card --> Opera9--> profile --> cache
i just selected everything inside and deleted them.
***i think the default is: Application Data --> Opera9 -->profile--> cache
yep, deleting cache helped mee too! just deleted all files under opera cache folder and then it works okay again.
so in my noobish haste, i installed this cab on my stock rom and i was wondering if anyone knew how to revert back to normal? thru regedit perhaps? uninstalling the cab does nothing and now, i can not even view a pdf file...
Do you still have Adobe Reader Lite 2.5 installed? Did you restart the hd2 after uninstalling the docindexer disabler by NRGZ28?
yes adobe is still installed and yes soft reset, adobe is still working but recent docs is not
save ur info using microsoft phone and do a hard reset not a soft reset

I'm trying to install .cab files on my HD2 and none of them are working....
Have tried Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, Co0kie's home tab 1.7 and CHTEditor 1.7
This started happening after I uninstalled Co0kie's home tab 1.5 so that I could install the latest verison.

I take it you're running the cabs from your mobile phone
is there an error message?
it could be that uninstalling CHT it left behind/deleted/corrupted some manila files and is having this effect
a hard reset would most likely fix this issue.
Just saying "xxxxx was not installed succesfully" for every .cab I try.
Have no idea how to fix it...

Mine does that sometimes, but when I soft reset, it works fine. I'm sure you tried this already, but just wanted to let you know your not alone..
Yeah thanks for the response man, I have tried to keep soft resetting and restarting.
Might just end up upgrading my ROM since I've been planning on for a while.
i had this happen from time to time as well when i was installing stuff. i always just hard reset to clear it since its just a weird problem and difficult to troubleshoot

Everytime I had this error it was a corrupted cab file, often happening when downloading them with opera mobile on the phone.
