Hi, I have an HD2, using it to take photos during my day, like a diary. But I would like to send my photos from my HD2 to my Ipad without using a laptop.
I can't pair it using bluetooh, or do I have to have a spec. software to pair my HD2 and my Ipad?
Regards
Hans

Sorry, couldnt resist.
Couldnt you email them to yourself if all else fails......
Crapple, in another example of them crippling the so called 'best phone in the world', have deliberately omitted OBEX so you can't send or receive files using bluetooth. However, if your iPhone is jailbroked you can use iBluetooth which is available over Cydia and this will do exactly what you need.
theres always email, but it might compress the photo

the only way for file exchange i can think of is over wifi:
you can try mocha ftp server (if that "revolutinary" ithing supports ftp) or have a look at this thread
The ipad.. same thing as their iphone: it doesnt send nor receive calls
have you tried dropbox?
great application front for our phone:

use the above all the time...works great.
cheers.
You guys, don't get it .
This is how Apple would like you to transfer your photos on ur Ipad:
- You can take pictures, but ONLY with an Apple device,
- You have to upload your pictures via ITunes,
- Only then you can download your photos on your IPad via ITunes. It's only USD 0,99 per picture.
Cool, no?
How I love their philosophy.
How I forgot to say...
Steve Jobs himself will select the photos you have the right to download on your EPad. Don't forget: no politics, no sex.

i agree, I think that's the most expensive application for the ppc I've ever seen.
with the money you are going to give you could negotiate a data plane with your carrier for much less...and i bet your employees would be much happier.
I can tell you by personal experience that denying employees some "Joy" at work can be hazardous to your company moral.
Well my advice is to precook rom (roms for the devices and do not include vertain packages for thw app that you do not want to use like games media player maybe internet explorer and some of the baseapps files ... it can be done
Cooking your own ROM isn't going to stop them installing anything else, SPB Kiosk may well lock the machine, haven't looked. And as the OP seems to only want to issue phones with email that may be the way forwards.
To the OP:
If it purely email/phone you want then i would recommend going down the Blackberry route. If you go that way and install a blackberry enterprise server in your office your users will get two way synch of email/contacts and you will be able to control every aspect of what they can do with their handhelds.

Hi, I was looking into getting the iphone 4 but wanted to find out the best way to get my sms from my g1 to the sim or iphone. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
bleh why would you wanna do that??? I'd say your best bet is to find a phone store that has a cellbrite machine. Or don't be a zombie and just get a sick new Android device and don't give in to the hype of the sub-par iPhone 4.

AFAIK SIM cards can only hold 20 texts, that is the least of your problems though.
As of iOS 3.1.3 you can't copy texts from the SIM to the Phone. Also there are no apps that will let you edit SMS entries on the iPhone.
In shot, it isn't feasable...
64K Sims will store 50 sms', 128K will hold 100.
the cellbrite solution as mentioned already will be your BEST bet, which can be done in the store, i doubt an Apple store will have this device, so go to the phone store.
although, if that's not a possibility, and you really wanna get down and dirty... you would have to find a way to convert the sms xml file into a database file for the iphone. i've seen some sites that can convert the iphones sms database file into xml but not the other way around...
http://insend.de/
http://faked.org/isms2droid/
if the iphone is jailbroken you could go to /private/var/mobile/Library/SMS and edit the sms.db file some how and import the xml data, but that right there just seems like a big headache. you can open that file with something like SQLite which is freeware...
Just resend all the texts you have, hahaha
Use sms backup, it wl automatically backup all your texts to your gmail account.. and then get a new android phone, cause iphone 4, while it is an amazing device, it is still locked down and has limitations to wat devs can do.

Well why don't you get an iPod Touch, if you seriously want the apps the iPhone has. Do you really need a phone which is overrated, forces against your will to use iTunes, has crap battery life, crap reception and absolutely locked to the hilt when it comes to writing apps for it. Not to mention if the battery goes bung, prepare to ride the shaft to get a new battery, since it can't be easily replaced. Trust me, an Android phone is more flexible. Ditto with the old WinMo 6.5 and even SymbianOS.
Mate, stick with Android and get yourself an HTC Desire, get an iPod Touch, you'll be alright. Don't believe the iHype.
Edit: realised you were from Britain, so deleted mention of AT&T. My bad.
Can I sync the music and videos of my iphone with my tab....or perhaps I could read and play its(iphone's contents on my tab) contents??
Is this possible...?
Sent from my XT720 using XDA App
pretty sure NO
can you access your iphone by wifi ? or bluetooth ?
anyway I am pretty sure that iP.. not allow that kind of things > or you need to buy the ultimate dongle made in apple store to allow the connection at the price of $99.99 (sarcasm?)
Why to buy a dongle when I can connect it using normal usb port....if android devices can sync thru itunes....then why not...oor is there any app available on apple to let me share via usb??
Sent from my XT720 using XDA App
hummm did you read the word sarcasm ?
- I am quite sure if you use an iphone stock you will "not be able" to sync or else... because so far I remember iphone require itune... but anyway.
also... if your music are bought from itune... they got a DRM so then you cannot copy them on another device especially with iTunes...
but I maybe wrong, I am not so far an iFan or iUser.
I try to link my Camera Photo, to the Acer, nothing, because it's not read that kind of device
but... 3.1 I think will allow USB HOST so
and concerning application from apple, ask to apple forum...
So..
Skype got updated and video call is now supported on some handsets (Desire S, Xperia, Nexus etc)
Nice new interface also..
Anyway some devs can get video working on our tablets ???
Tango works perfectly and its free, you can download it at Market.
Cheers!
meh on Tango. Installed the Thunderbolt version of Skype on my HTC Sensation and video worked fine. I wonder if it would work on the Iconia
Yep, screw tango, skype is allover the world, works on my epic with video but not on iconia (no video).
Skype uses NEON and Tegra 2 doesn't have it.

Does this mean Skype video will most likely never work for the Iconia a500?
I'm really going to be disappointed if this is the case... been waiting for video support for a while now.
I, like other, have tried the new skype 2.0.0.47 'hack' by theos0o (v5 i believe) but surely, skype crashes with the 'enable video' checked in the advanced menu.
Anyone?
I have been considering other video app options, only most of my friends and family are skype users... also I have been using skype for many years now, so it sucks their rotten suppprt for us android users...

I really hate that we have to jump through hoops to have video chat on an Iconia. You see, it's really a selling point to have a front facing camera on a tablet. Automatically you would assume that since it has a front facing camera, it would have some video chat suite included..

It does, and it's included. It's called Google Talk, or on our tablets simply labeled "Talk". You can video chat with anyone on another tablet, pc, or even a mac.

Everybody i know uses skype. Do we expect them all to change just so I can use the iconia for vid conferencing?
Tango doesn't work that well... Personally I tested it and it has a lot of audio problems. Anyway that's not the majoir problem with it. Tango is not a pc platform. I want be able to talk to anybody not just to the ones having a smartphone or a tablet. That's why Skype is superior, cause it works on every platform, and that's why it would be great having video support. It's all theoretical of course, cause, due to the fact our a500 mic is the worst mic ever built, to talk to somebody is impossible for the ones not living in the middle of a desert... To use voice I have to yell so loud that I could wake up ppl living 2 miles from my house.

Well, actually, yes. Skype is not very well supported on most mobile devices, as it is more of a PC app.
In my opinion, the best multi-platform thing going is Google Talk. It works on all of my current devices -- phone, tablet, desktop and notebook PCs. Anyone that I know who won't switch to Google Talk will only get to talk with me when I'm in front of my PC, and since I got the A500, the time spent in front of my PC is lessening every day.
If Skype doesn't quickly start improving support for mobile devices, it's only a matter of time before it starts quickly losing popularity.

Exactly! And if you have a PC, or Mac, all you have to do is login to your gmail account and you can GTalk video chat right in your browser.

You already have your answer. Why? Because Skype does not work on your tab, but Google talk does work. Skype is not a part of the Google family of products.

I too wish Skype would just add video chat capabilities for all devices. It can't be THAT hard. I've got plenty of friends who use Skype, but I have absolutely NONE that use Google Talk and again, none of my friends' friends use it either so it wouldn't be possible to start converting them to Google Talk.
The simple fact is that Skype is way, WAY more popular than Google Talk.

When I got my tablet, no one used Google talk for VC, but all I had to do was ask, n it was easy cuz if you have a gmail account, which almost everyone does, either by choice or by Droid, you can chat. You don't need another account, another program, anything! And for the (very!) Few I come across that 1) want to VC with me, 2) have a Skype, 3) don't have a Droid, and 4) somehow missed the gmail revolution, I convert them. They get to talk to me, AND get better email. Win-win. N seriously, how often do you come across someone that fullfills all of those criteria? Cuz if they are missing any of those 4, you're set
Interesting Android smartwatch here. It can actually be used as a standalone phone, bands are GSM/GPRS Quad Band:GSM 850/900/DCS 1800/PCS 1900 MHZ (can this be used on AT&T?).
What I'm not seeing is if it can be used as a dialer for your phone, so you can just leave it in your pocket and make and receive calls like the Gear.
What do you guys think? I'm tempted to get it just to play around with.

Doing some further reading, yes you can initiate a call to your phone with it, woot! It also has music over bluetooth and local storage. It looks like it has no speaker/mic so you have to use a headset with it, boo, but that's ok.

Feature phone software, bleh.
Although I guess for 100 bucks you can't expect it to run Android.
Edit: Hmm, just noticed no where does it say there's a speaker built in...guess you have to use a headset to use it as a phone.
Also only compatible with Android 2.3-4.0. Doesn't say it works with newer.

Strange, I was also surprised by that 4.0 rather then 4.x reference. And I think you are right about headphone 3.5mm jack as the only way to listen to the music. Would have been great if they would include a camera in there.

Haha, first thing that crossed my mind when i saw it.
Dunno why but personally i find most smart watches just tend to look either dull, or just plain awful. Maybe it's because of the space they have to work with? Dunno :/
You guys realize it's a phone? It might be nice to have as a backup phone, or if I just want a tiny phone. It doesn't run apps, but I never had much use for apps on a 1.5" screen.
It's interesting, I may grab one just to play around with. It seems to have AT&T bands. I don't plan on using it like a watch though, it's too ugly like that. I'd just stick it in my pocket or clip it on.

We're fully aware. It's just between recent offerings like the Omate Truesmart and previous offerings like every chinese watch phone out there, this one seems like too little too late to really make sense right now.
If you want a cheap feature-phone watch check out what's available to get a style you like. This one is pretty big and ugly for what it does.

So I got one and got to say this thing is a perfect companion for a phone at work. Built in mic allows you to answer on your wrist and be like I'll call you back it also has Bluetooth audio out and wireless headset support. Weird thing is contacts and messages won't work without a sim has to have one active or not I'm on Verizon so its pointless to try lucky I had art laying around and it vibrates!! This thing is sweet to be cheap!!!

From the watch description:
Smart Sync Function: Can sync with smart phone, downloading phonebook and call history (iOS 4.0+ and Android 2.3+) to the device. When using Android 2.3+ OS, download and install the WiMe NanoSmart APK on the Android device and the NanoSmart will sync with the Android device (Google calendar events, new Gmail notification, call history, phonebook, sent/received SMS).
