Hey guys, I saw this on the HTC support website and was wondering if this would work for tmous and custom roms. It is suppose to fix the lag and freezes in the music tab of the UI, which I experience alot of problems with. Would this work for the tmous custom roms? Im currently using Kumar's rom. Are there any other fixes to this freezing of the music player,as I know that there are many who are experiencing this problem as well. If this fix does work, that would be great!

You can try it, but I don't think it's going to make any difference in your issues...the build of our Tmo stock rom is a good bit later than the one listed there, so HTC seems be saying this fix has been already incorporated in ROMs later than 1.73.xx.
If you're experiencing lag and lockups in the music tab in particular, I would suggest trying it with the SD card removed from the phone, and see if you have any issues then. If all your music is on the card, copy one or two songs over to phone memory first, then remove the card and test it that way.

Just received this from HTC;
Hello, I understand that your HTC HD2 freezes up when you are accessing your music. We are aware of this issue and we are currently in process of coming up with a software fix. Once this fix is released you will be able to locate this at http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade. We have become aware that some of the freezing issues with the HD2 can be cause by the HTC Sense. You can disable this as well, to see if it helps in the mean time. You can disable the sense by going to Settings, Personalize, Customize Tabs. I want to apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. I want to thank you for contacting HTC.
Yup, the update that was officially released today (but leaked last week) is supposed to address the SMS freezing issues, and some users that have installed it have reported that it does make a difference.
if ur music tab is the problem what i did was downloaded mediamonkey and had it recode all mp3 files and it did the trick for me

What seemed to fix my music issues (granted I have over 5GB of music) was to copy the audio_manager.exe from the windows folder and past it into the start up folder. Now it only lags for a few second as it loads all the albums and it only does that when I restart my phone. Works a lot better!
I have never used this guy before, but he has this posted.
I thought you might find it interesting.
I'm still waiting for the tmo site.

I flashed my phone with it and my girls HD2 as well and it has worked really good. I would do it!
Indeed, this is a slightly newer version than the one we got a couple weeks ago, and because it says "SHIPPED" on the end it seems legit.

Is the ROM in English because I can't read a thing on the website?
Why don't you get it from XDA. It's been up for some time now.

and here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789506
this file is slightly newer than both of those links & looks like it has a newer radio

Bless all of you who post direct links and don't tell us to "search" for it. I've decided that I'm obviously the WORST at searching XDA ever in all creation!
Maybe someone could post a link to the newer version in english?
A few questions
First, Does this require HSPL? Is this an actual shipped ROM that I can load like when I went from 2.10 to 2.13?
Second, does this change the SPL version? If it does will HSPL3 work on this new SPL?
Installed 3.14 updated on T-Mobile HD2 US
Ok I have a native (and I mean native) T-Mobile HD2 and I just installed:
RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_3.14.531.1_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_1.5_Ship.exe
No problems so far and here are some obvious changes:
Shazaam was on the applications list
Smoother transitioning on apps and windows
There are 3-4 background options to choose from that have odd names...not there so i'm not sure if this are code names.
swype seems really smooth..not sure if it got updated but its nice.
i can check hte versions of the default apps like albums, messages, email, pics, etc and see what they are compared to someone who has NOT updated to 3.14

sooo.... to be clear, by "native" you mean you did NOT have to install HSLP to flash the 3.14 ROM?
Correct!
No HSPL needed. Just downloaded the file above, opened it up and it updated my HD2. My HD2 had no HSPL or other hacks done to it.
So far with full day of use, had good battery life (better than before), no freezing or hanging, loaded a ton of photos, music, books on the SD card which used to cause serious lag. I don't see that anymore.
According to hte HTC website, the update improved better usage of the CPU which is now obvious.
I will be installed CHT and some other 3rd party apps tomorrow to see how they run on the HD2. So far, its been an excellent update.
New T-Mobile 3.14 HD2 Update Release Review
After 48 hours of usage, here are a few thoughts on the new HD2 T-Mobile US 3.14 update:
The days of lagging and freezing are over.
Stable..very stable. Did not have 1 crash or freeze and I put intense pressure on the cpu with various appps both running at the same time as well as cpu / memory hungry apps
CHT 1.8 needs to be updated to work on 3.14
Sense UI is wonderful. This is how it was intended to operate.
Email, Music, Photos, MEssages are the same..no real change that I can see.
I would say the HD2 is really a great phone now with this update. Short and sweet.

So CHT doesn't work or won't install? And you're talking about CHT 1.8.5.1 Editor, too?
I have a few questions about the current state of android builds for the HD2.
I've been running the Cotulla DFT Stock Desire rom for a while with a few tweaks (prj 0.3 kernel, removed some system apps, repartitioned for more /data on NAND). It's been relatively stable but I thought i'd try a Desire HD build as I like some of the newer apps and smaller menu text (it works better on the 4.3" screen).
I tried the imilka RAM Desire HD build. The build has the same WiFi sleep issue (wifi disconnects after phone left in extended sleep) that the DFT Stock build has. It also has a very obscure partition format (with RAM, but system framework on SD), odd slowdowns, and a few other things including the camera FC.
Basically I am looking for a build for the HD2, with the following:
- Suit EU HD2
- Desire HD base
- As stock as possible. No crazy RAM or framework-on-sd stuff. Fine with removed apps (like maps, youtube, etc) and /data on A2SD+
- Odexed. I want performance not fancy graphics
- Good battery life
- Fixed wifi & camera (I dont care what resolution, I just dont want FC on using the share app)
- Prefer Desire keyboard (hate the arrows, take up too much screen space).
Is this wish list too much? I might try skink clean desire but it's not a HD build.
I'm really disappointed that there are so many different android builds for the HD2 yet they all seem to have the same basic problems. I liked the DFT rom as it was well tested and had no extra crud.
HELP!
Well maybe you should ask yourself this first. What major difference is there between a desire hd and desire build in terms of looks/functions? A new music app? A different widget look for messaging and e mail? A different camera interface (Note barely any of the features in the desire hd camera work, which I assume you know)? A camcorder that doesn't sync audio and visual correctly? HTC hub, which isn't even populated with anything of relevance yet. And to top it all off, the desire hd builds are considerably slower than desire builds. I'm just saying here, there's no advantage other than eye candy I guess.

Try the Typhoon NAND rom, it runs very smooth on my EU HD2, very stock, and almost all other points you mentioned.
Well the rom development for hd2 has come a long way from dft/cotulla build. I'd suggest you try some newer nn sense roms which I find way faster than any sense rom, that's the only way to find out for sure.
After countless trail and error I have found my rom(HyperDroid GBX) which does what I want it to do, it fast smooth, everything seems to work for me, battery its good, GPS,Bluetooth, wifi all work as intended and that's why its my daily driver( I still try other roms but this is where I go back to), keep in mind that just because it works for me doest mean it'll work for you.
Td;lr: try other roms and find one that meets your needs (do your home work! )
Dear Folks,
I have noticed that every music player make my music stream laggy. Due mp3 and flac types.
I use the latest MiniCM 1.0 on 715 Mhz with all fixes.
I have 8 Gb SanDisk Class 2 card.
I tried PlayerPro 2.03 and the latest Asto Player Pro.
How can I solve this annoying lag?
It is like an old discman with a creapy anti shock system now!
Help!
Thx!
Update: I installed doixanh's rom [ROM] X8CM6 Latest | 6.2.0.RC.0b. That is ok, and there are no lags and choking. I have left MiniCM behind me, because doixanh's rom is much more better
Let's update you all guys: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079463
As I posted on MiniCM thread on development forum, I have the same issue. no answer yet for me, hope someone find a way to solve this.
Had a same problem... check your DSP manager. It should be all OFF.
Try to reinstall ROM, may help...

DSP is off as before.
ROM reinstall sucks... I have no feel like to reinstall all of my apps and set on the desktop (home) again... may I will do it but I don't think it will solve this issue.
Reinstalling ROM doesn't solve.
Looks like PowerAMP isn't skipping, but I actually don't like PowerAMP and I don't want to pay for it. Is something so basic, we have a massive lot of players to choose, and all of them has lagging and skipping songs.
did you try to use other sd card? these class 2 are bit crappy
I don't know if I understood you well, but you may try
i have class 2 sd card, and have not yet faced the problem. maybe, it lags cause of too many song to load?? not sure of it
Maybe it's related to any app installed?
The apps I have:
- Goggles
- Docs
- Linkedin
- Last.fm
- Google Maps
- Call Meter NG
- Facebook
- Twitter
- Chrome to Phone
- Google Reader
- Taskos
- WhatsApp
- Nimbuzz
- Skype
- picPlz
- LauncherPro
Twitter and Facebook are the only ones which are always open in background, due to the sync.
It's a bug! TRy reinstall ROM to fix. Worked for me.
I tried to reinstall music apps, wipe cache etc, but I think reflashing is the only solution.
i've experienced the same bug in every miniCM release i used, my advice - just install floyo 0.20, since it's the best 2.2 rom right now. not a single lag there, neither in music, nor in games etc.
Yeah, nice I got the same attention...

Hi Every one! I dont know is this just me have this trouble or everybody. I was used search and found nothing about my problem.
I have some problems with srolling down in the end of menu (menu with programs) and same problem in personalisation. Ectually its not a problem but its annoying a bit... i've noticed that all desire roms (desire, z, HD) have this problem on my HD2 (TMOUS)...
Does any one had this problem? And may be there is some fix or tweak to solve it?
any one????? seems to be only i have this crap or what???
actually this crap only on Froyo roms. I've tried GB roms and there is a bit different menu and its NOT lagging, but personalization menu still laging when scroll down to the end of page!
People say something!!!!!!!!! Have some one this issue or its just me?
in froyo builds this is normal.to avoid this always control applications running at background with taskkillers (i use android assistant for this). i also use 128mb swap partition(knowing that may destroy my sd-card).and sometimes i overclock up to 1.2 ghz.
Also, if you wait for a bit until everything in the menu is loaded, it'll be gone next time you use the same menu. unless you've rebooted, or used some heavy apps before using the menus again.
ok, thanks a lot ! I've just installed htc desire rom from DFT and actually menu sroll lag still exist but much more less! Seems to be its a lack of LEO hardware and may be lack of some libs in desire's roms.
