I was wondering. Does anyone know of a way to have the lock device show owner information (the name if nothing else)? I tried doing a search but like 500 different 'lock device' apps came up. The one im using is the one currently built into the energy rom (see sig for link).
Not a critical thing or anything, but a co-worker has the same device, and it would hurt to have my name on it as a 'just in case' element.
Last resort, i guess i could photoshop a background with that info in it, but that's a pain if i ever want to switch backgrounds.
I use S2U2 with the rom in my sig, and I think it has an option to show owner info, and its real easy to skin it to look however you want it to look so even if I'm wrong about the option, you could easily put your info on the wallpaper

Yea, i use to use SU2U as well with the stock rom, but i didnt want to install it again due to "Lock Device" being installed, which would just be redundant.

OMG! I can't stop laughing. A request for a development, linked to a thread here, with a title for an iphone type lock............S2U2. Oh the insanity!
LOL
cant believe! hilarious!

hey did you read his post? he says all lock apps are unattractive. Apparently the Iphone lock looks waaaaay better than S2u2. I mean the iphone lock cant be customized so its waaaay more attractive than s2u2 that can look like anything.
S2u2
Pocketshield
Throttlelock
These are all customizable therefore potentally infinitely more attractive
I posted the Wrong URL i meant to paste this http://iphone3g-india.com/password-protect-your-applications-sms-pictures-in-iphone/
and i said "App Lock" Not Device Lock
Now back to the matter Can someone help me out here with a link or developing something like that
Ok if your are looking for a program that unlocks individual programs and areas of your phone you may have to wait. In the mean time tell us what type of phone you have. You dont go to an engineer and ask him to make an engine then walk away.
Otherwise download the latest version of S2u2 it has a password mode. It locks everything but its the closest thing you will find. If you dont like the way it looks (i dont know why, since the application you linked to is hideous) you can always customize it

I'm developing these application at the moment but I've still some troubles and serious bugs to fix. I don't know when I can offer the first beta release.

bump? anyone can post a link?
I have been searching for an application locker for WM6 too, but without success. I'm running an Xperia by the way...
Palm had AppLock, Symbian S60v3 has Advanced Device Locks, so what has WM6 got? Nothing as far as I can tell.
I'm not looking for something that is bombproof, just something to deter the casual observer. I'd like to specify which applications to protect, and when someone runs one of those applications it pops up a 'please enter password' request - enter the right password and the application launches, enter the wrong password and the application doesn't launch.
Then, if I give my phone to someone to play with, I know they can't go poking around at things I don't want them to see...but they CAN see the device in action for themselves...
I've never figured out why such a thing doesn't exist - I'd have thought it would be a popular thing to want...
I knows it so easy to develop a app like this with all the new apps out no one still havent made a good enough app lock
Hello, this is my second post and my second smartphone! So far i am happy with it, however im trying to install and try some of the things that i am learning here. I have a few questions.
First, the Advanced Config. I have installed some new background screens from one of the threads here. All of my screens work with the exception of my home screen. I went into Advanced Config and looked for a way to disable my current home screen and i cant seem to find it. Do i need a more up to date Advanced Config?
Second I have the t mobile version of the rhodium if i decide to install on of the newer roms is there a way to restore to factory if something goes wrong? Will it void my warranty on the phone?
Third and finally... is there a way that i can enlarge my X, and OK icons at the top left of my screen? Im using my fingers to do all the operations on the phone. Yes i know i have a stylus but i prefer to use my hands. So far it isnt a problem but it was a question in my mind.
Thank you so much for the feedback. I look forward to learning all i can about this awesome device and this knowledgeable community!
I am not too sure what you mean by home screen. Are you talking about TouchFlo? If so, what is the issue with it? You can disable it under settings, today or home.
Yes t-mobile us has an official shipped ROM, so you will be able to flash back as needed.
X-button size is what you get. I dont think you can increase the size of it. Although you might be use that, but it wont close an app completely.
As always, flashing is dangerous process. So make sure you read all the materials, before you decide to do so.

he's right. if you want the original stock rom for tmobile click on my sig where it says "TMOUSA TP2 Stock Rom". it'll put it back to normal for warranty reason. but you also need to go to the hard spl thread to lock it back up.

Basically im talking about the First screen on my phone.. my home screen.. it is still the default screen. All subsequent screens work just fine with my new backround. Im not sure how to disable it.
I like a look of my stock tp2 (with WinMo 6.5) but there are 2 things I would like to change:
1. When I tap start I don’t want my background to change to something predefined.
2. To change the experience of clock i.e. transparent background with white numbers.
Can somebody direct me where to look?

1. Open Windows Pictures & Videos program, find the picture you want as your Start Menu Background, Once you found the one you want click and open it, then click on the menu button, then there will be an option to "Set as Home Background" select it and follow the prompts and your all done
2. As far as this goes, this requires some various mods and tweaks...not sure exactly what you are asking for...but this depends on what your phone is running and that tells you what mods you can install...do some searching and reading
acidbath5546, thank you for a fast reply.
Well, I would like clock like this one in attachment, with weather forecast of course. I hope that changing clock won’t require flashing the phone.
My phone is running stock Win 6.5 rom. The phone is 1 weak old.... I trayed reading and searching..but in every theme there are 50 + pages of posts...Hard to find explanation, when i dont understand even a term "manila", as far as i'm concerned Manila is the capital of the Philippines.
Im not afraid of tweeking, but only if i know what im looking for.

LOL...Not a problem man
We were all afraid of tweaking at one point.
From what you said you are looking for a clock that also has the weather update inside of it. That is found only in custom ROMS.
It is a version of TouchFlo3D that is called "Sense 2.1 or Sense 2.5" you will also see it said as "Manila 2.1 w/Sense and 2.5".
If you want a good place to read about all this stuff, there is a great site/blog that has everything in one central place, it helped me a lot back when I had an HTC Fuze, and there is one just for the HTC TP2
See here:
http://tilt2.blownfuze.org/
So if you really really wanted that clock and some cooler stuff, you would have to flash a "Custom ROM".
If you need any more help or want my opinion feel free to send me a private message/PM and I will help if I can.
acidbath5546, you wouldnt belive how helpfull your answer was!

No problem at aall man
As far as your PM about how to find your Manila Version....
I dont really remember that much about your Stock/Regular version, been awhile since I used it.
But if you slide you slider all the way to the settings tab, there should be a selection that says "About Phone" or software info or something like that, that you can click on.
But after seeing your ROM version you sent me, you have an older/standat version of regular Manila 2.1, NOT SENSE manila 2.1, which is what you are looking for, with the weather forecast clock and what not....
I have a few apps I cant find lol. Coming from the tp2 there was an all programs tab that was easily accessible?
tap on the start menu, you'll have all the programs there. the last program would be on the very bottom, it doesn't sort them alphabetically.
Yeah I know about the start menu, im talking about every program on your phone alphabetically. On the tp2 it used to be a white screen with a long list of programs. All you had to do was tap all programs.
Thanks for the response.
I'm not sure if you're refering to the list of programs that the file explorer generates. It only has the folders of the programs installed. You may open the file explorer and go to Programs folder in your device or on your storage card. The folders are arranged alphabetically.
Sorry, if I'm not so clear about your concern as I know nothing about TP2.

The screenshot below is what he's looking for.
Dukins, I don't have my HD2 yet so I can't look for it on there, but I do know that if it exists on the phone you'll have to be running Sense to get to it....so, if you've turned Sense off (to run SPB Mobile Shell or anything similar, etc), you'll need to run Sense to get that programs list.
Now, if that doesn't help you get to it, I hope somebody can point you/us to it, because I'll want to know how to find it as soon as I get my HD2

I see. I just got my HD2 last week but as far as I know, there is no such thing in it. The only one it has is the Start Menu that has all the programs, albeit not in list form but in hexagon-pattern listing, and not in alphabetic order.

Yeah that's the same in sense 2.1 (on my TP2)...that list appears when you're adding a quick link, it's just odd that they seem to have removed direct access to it in sense 2.5. I'm sure that's a comment lament among users of 2.5 on all platforms, at least among those who had used it at some point before.
Does anyone know if there is an phone lock application that will display owner information during the lockscreen so that if the phone is lost/found, the finder can call/email the owner? Maybe a note of reward etc?
The basic lockscreens are void of everything except the clock mostly
Thanks much.
S2U2 can be set up to do this.

Actually I have had my phone returned several times when I lost it as have friends of mine. All it takes is someone who is honest. Find it on a bus, give it to the driver. In a restaurant, give it to the manager.
Why don't you add your name and phone nbr into a picture, and use that for your lockscreen? I use CHT 2.0 beta, but not the CHT lockscreen, so the picture I set in settings / today for the background shows up on the lockscreen, and the pictures I chose for "home tab" and "all tabs" via the CHT "Set Wallpaper" show up everywhere else.
If your lock screen has the "Show Hint" setting (depends on your ROM) Then you can put your info there and someone would see it, if they incorrectly enter your password a couple of times.
Also if you use a ROM that has the HD Mini type lock screen installed, you can edit the image of the slider and add your info on it.
I have no clue why owner info was removed in the last few versions of windows mobile. It was always there since my first IPAQ (Also MRU but that is rant for another time)

I agree, there are plenty of people who will try to return a found phone.
The only time my wife lost her phone, she dropped it at the airport. Her phone wasn't PIN locked. So the person who found it started dialing the last numbers called on her phone. The first one happened to be me. Luckily, we were still at the airport, so we went back to the gate to meet the gentleman, and retrieved the phone.

Without knowing what you're running but assuming 6.5 or better then these threads are a great point to begin (and end with), although there are a cab or 2 available out there I just kept these threads handy and have used them with my Rhodium many times.
