Thats a bit of a strong statement. I wouldn't go as far as saying that HTC & HTC phones are rubbish. Yes, customer services ain't great compared with Apple for instance, but the HD is better than the iphone IMO ( I don't want another iphone vs HD case here, I was just stating my opinion!!!!), and the phone specs which HTC throw out rival other manufacturers.

the incredible is easily identified by the optical joypad - evo hasnt got one !

HTC Desire has arrived, goodbye HTC Hero owners, devs etc

Having recieved my brand spanking new HTC Desire and sold my Hero I thank you all for such a lovely time that I have had here.
There is no going back for me now, the Desire is totally so flippin awesome and some might say I have jumped ship but I can assure you all, the Desire is a thing of pure brilliance and I have Android 2.1, friendstream and live wallpapers.
Adios, farewell, au revoir to you all, I am now heading to the Desire ROM development forum.

has the desire been rooted by now? otherwise that would be a real dealbreaker for me... i'd keep my hero at least until the desire is rooted.

From HEROC to EVO SHIFT

This has been a great experience for me and my HEROC. Thanks to all the DEVS that supported this phone to the end.
I have recently upgraded my HEROC to a EVO SHIFT. Hopefully, I will see some of you over the Evo Shift Forums and we could all start over.
Looking forward to rooting, roming, and to the development of this new phone. I'll check back once in a while to see what kind of progreess the Heroc is getting.

I also came from a hero. This phone, imho, was a great upgrade. The physical keyboard is a super bonus to what the phone can do. It is way faster than the hero and can perform just as well as the Evo. Of course that is debatable. For me, I do like the smaller screen compare to the evo/epic. The camera is decent for a 5mp with flash. Being a second gen snapdragon, can't wait for the new development to start.

edit: Nevermind I see your using an Epic. Maybe one of these days you can make some themes etc. for the Shift. I like the green/white cirlce battery mod you made me for the Hero.

There was mention earlier on in the thread that Darch may be coming.
I just read on the Hero forum that Deca may be going over to the Optimus S.

No chance of me leaving the Epic, but I'm sure when rooted custom roms come out for this I'll do some battery mods for my app

Does the Optimus S even have its own forum on here yet? If so I can't seem to find it. I know there's a couple for it located on Android Central and Android Forums. Here on xda, I do see a little bit of Optimus S stuff in the 'Optimus One P500' forum -- is that it for now? Thanks, Forgive me if I'm missing something obvious. I'm loving this phone. I came from heroc and I'm glad to know sense can be good... if your phone is fast enough to run it haha.

No doubt there, Sense seems fine on this phone compared to my Hero. I came from the Hero, and upgraded my wife's Moment to the Shift also. My wife said something funny about that last night, "They called it the Moment because it only works for a moment." EPIC!! lol

I'm enjoying it, came from a Heroc. Sense is really ruining the experience for me though, even with ADW it just isn't as good as stock or CM6/7. I'm,hoping it gets root soon or its back to the hero.

Feb 7th? As far as I know there aren't any new phones in production other than the blackberry and the HTC Windows phone.

I doubt anything being released in the next couple months will be announced there but they might announce a dual core I hope...lol

By August the Evo 3d will look like last generation, unless of course some of the rumors about its camera capabilities are true. Look up the LG Optimus3d. Better CPU, GPU, amazing screen, 3d, camera, etc.

Well unless the LG Optimus 3D plans on coming to Sprint idk that i'll be getting it.

I had an evo 4g and lost my account due to excessive roaming.....luckily for me I hopped on a family plan with someone that doesn't give a crap about new technology........so they will become a proud owner of a slightly new Epic 4g and ill become a proud owner of a new Evo 3D in July......happy face.......
