Having recieved my brand spanking new HTC Desire and sold my Hero I thank you all for such a lovely time that I have had here.
There is no going back for me now, the Desire is totally so flippin awesome and some might say I have jumped ship but I can assure you all, the Desire is a thing of pure brilliance and I have Android 2.1, friendstream and live wallpapers.
Adios, farewell, au revoir to you all, I am now heading to the Desire ROM development forum.

Hmm. Did anyone else think it looked like it lagged in the video compared to the Desire HD?
I love the idea of the keyboard for emulators and taking full advantage of the screen size, but I've had my iPhone for 31months so I can deal with not having keyboard.
Unfortunately, it's a 3G and I'm unbelievably sick of lag.
Otherwise, I LOVE THIS PHONE.
The Desire Z looks awesome ! It's going to be my next phone. The only thing that sucks is that it doesn't have a dedicated number row other than that it's great
They should have made the keyboard like the Touch Pro 2

a G2 or a Desire Z?
The only reason I'm picking this phone over the HTC HD2 is because of the keyboard. I have to say, T-mobile has some really ugly phones but this is one of the best ones. I also love it's UI, it sp gosh dang fast!! w00t!!!

This beast will rock, I think the worlds leading smartphone has arrived... I love the leaked benchmark scores as well, twice as fast as a froyo N1!!! Imagine CM6.1 on this beast, this phone absolutly FTW))

+1 on JD and FTW for HTC Desire HD and Sense UI.
I think the Desire Z is the better of the two phones (which is why I have it pre-ordered rather than the HD).

I sold my Nexus 1 month ago and i cant wait for this beastly phone mate... I was at the launch and it was fabulous))
I also tried the Z, it looks amazing but there was a problem with the optical trackpad, it wasnt at all responsive, and the HD very much stole the evening..
I cant wait until we get devvin' with this beast, and get CM on it ASAP

Now HOW can we get in contact with CM!?
cm have website with forum, so we cas ask there, but we should wait, all the last htc phone have vision of cm, so we can guess that the desire hd will not be so different.
btw: same hare, nexus one - sold DHD - in
When the desire HD is rooted someone will port CM to the Desire HD, As its a HTC phone it should be fairly easy in comparison to other devices such as Galaxy S.
We will just need ROOT and prefrably HTC to realese the kernel scource firly soon after realease.

I's not, though. Sure, it's a better choice for you if you want the physical keyboard, but that's really the only thing that's "better". Specs-wise the DHD is a better piece of hardware.

For people like me Desire HD is the only option.
Thing is, i can't deal with physical keyboards anymore.
Using Swype onscreen keyboard is 10 times faster.
I've gotten so used to it, nowadays i prefer onscreen keyboards.
You can buy SlideIt on androidmarket and see for yourself. (an alternative)

Thats the only reason i'm buying DHD

Riz what you have to understand is that there are guys who use there phone just for calling purposes, and there are guys who develop and utilise there phone to the maximum... I sold my Nexus a few months back and im eager to start devvin again Android is a way of life for a lot of people on here, so you do what you do, and we do what we do))
SGS is dead in the water now this beast is soon to drop... I played with a SGS last week and other than the pretty screen, its pretty average, maybe below average;(

Since warranty was allready over en probably void too I was forced to get a new phone.
I was in doubt off what new phone to get but HTC kinda grew on me. So, I'm moving over to Sensation(XE) threads.
allready running Virtuous ICS on it now so tings are going very well
Just wanted to thank the DHD community for giving me a great time. I've learned a lot from all of ya and had loads of fun.

It's a bit early to say but I do like the screen and it;s resolution.also batterylife is a lot better and of course its a lot faster than DHD.
I must say it's a lot more comfortable to hold in your hand then DHD. A bit smaller so it fits better in an average hand
Don't buy it for the headset though, it kinda sucks to be honest. the cord is too short, earplugs are too heavy and sound is nothing special about.

Sorry this doesn't really answer your question but I bought a new phone. The HTC Mytouch 4g slide. Dual-core, 8MP camera, its really a great phone BUT you know what? I've hardly used it. I can't seem to let go of this phone because its such a great phone. The development on the phone i bought is bad too.
For your best bet I would look at a phone your interested in and then go to that thread here on XDA. Look to see if there are any good developers working on it and how many threads/posts they have. The more the better i would think.
