You can't unlock extra ROM because it doesn't exist, and no-one's talking about the TMO version with more ROM because it's old news and we're all talked out about it.

No one is talking about it because we know there is no extra rom to unlock. No one cares much about the T Mo version because it will only work on T Mo in the USA, so why would anyone else in the world care.

We should really have waited for the WP7 announcement before buying our HD2s... so that we could have all those perfectly working cheaper HD2s sold by these people that are disappointed with their thing not doing MORE than what they say on the box...
tbh i couldnt care less about WMP7 either. i am loving WM6.5 atm!
lol @ the trolls
Yeah, you go sell your HD2 because it won't have WM7 on it. Good luck not having a phone for the next 9 months, unless of course you're not actually waiting for WM7 and just talking rubbish.

what does it matter when 90% of the HD2 owners have already sold their phone for the Nexus one by then.
I sold my HD2 to a dupe for £500 and got a nexus and ebay HD2 for the same.
Jks.
Why would i want 3.7" when 4.3" is bigger...albeit with fewer colours.
LOL.
my e-peen swelleth!!!
AND - to all those naysayers HD2+flexishield fits in the pockets of my 31" waist levi 506 jeans with minimal bulge. wooo wooo. I think nexus2 and iphone4G should be 4.3" too.
Having recieved my brand spanking new HTC Desire and sold my Hero I thank you all for such a lovely time that I have had here.

It is as per claims from HTC during MWC or CES forgot which one. Still, the Desire tops the list on Techradar as best phone out, beating the likes of the iPhone, Samsung and the HD itself, and its their most popular device by far I reckon.

Probably they won't update the old Desire. The DHD will get the same software as the Desire S because they are essentially the same hardware apart from some mild differences.

No it dosent, the desire had dual touch, it can only physically detect one touch, it uses a software algorhytm to work out the location of the 2nd finger, this leads to axis flipping, meaning you cant cross axis's making it useless lol

I contacted HTC to ask if we will get the 2.3 update:
Will the HTC Legend receive the Android 2.3 update?
HTC replied with the following:
Thank you for contacting HTC.
No, the HTC Legend will not be receiving the Gingerbread update. Android 2.3
I noticed that a lot of people were wondering if we were going to get Android 2.3 or HTC Sense 3.0, so I thought I'd contact them myself.
I hope this clears up any mess
Here's the e-mail:

Yeah I heard the desire was getting it sans some sense apps... apparently they require too much RAM or something .. I don't know why they can't push 2.3 with the same old sense...

The Desire has more RAM and the exact same ROM as the Wildfire S, which runs Gingerbread on the New Sense just fine! Minus HTC Locations, but that's all I noticed was missing!
...or is there some spec I'm missing?

No, basically HTC have lied once again, to the Desire owners this time. Tbh I've lost all faith in HTC, I quite like my Legend still now that it is rooted, but next year when my contract runs out I'll get a different Android phone, possibly a Samsung or a Google Nexus phone depending on what's around at the time.
Everyone seems to be forgetting about htc developer site, im pretty sure its going to be quite like Android Source with teh ability to build from source like Cyanogenmod?!
I'm running 2.3.3 with sense 2.1 from ogo2 with no performance issues, it's obvious to me they want to push people to buy new phones.

Yeah, they were being lazy (or deceiving) when they said INITIALLY that the Desire was not receiving Gingerbread. Two days later, they must have realized this or someone must've pointed out their lie by analyzing specs on their current generation phones, because they decided to pump Desire with Gingerbread once more.
Stupidity, stupidity.

Well, than you've better get starting cooking these ROMs, cuz I don't see any one else willing to do so. There's about 10 people on this forum that care about this phone, including 3 guys that have the knowledge and skillz to make a fully working ROM. I don't wanna sound pessimistic, but the Legend I kinda dead in terms of development.

I personally love the speed of it. But in my opinion, I think that the stable version isn't exactly stable. I keep getting random reboots and right now, my Messages Application won't open :/
And that's one reason why I sold my Legend to my brother, little or no updates in the OS version from HTC.
I prefer sense to be honest, Dont like any launcher apart from rosie as nothing compares to it!
this really doesn't surprise me, newer models are out. So HTC would be 'forcing' you to get a newer phone
Yep cm7 works for me

Personally I don't care about newer versions of Android on Legend. There's no feature in 2.3 or later that would significantly enhance my productivity compared to 2.2 or 2.1. I think I can use my Legend as is at least for the next year or so.

I told HTC that Desire S and DHD has similar specs -as everybody knows- and nearly released at the same time in my country (Desire S released 3 months later). I bought a DHD. Desire S was cheaper. I know HTC announced that there will be no official Sense 3.0 update for DHD but I said If there will be no update for DHD, I'll sell it and buy a SGS2 and never turn back to HTC again.

IF HTC DON'T HAVE EXACT INFORMATION, WHO HAS
Oh my god... I laughed so hard there was goat milk pouring out of my ears... Yeah, seriously, if they don't have the answer, just WHO DOES?! The fact that they, who should have the answer, actually don't have the answer, is indeed hilarious!
Except if they do have the information, but don't want to tell us?! No, no, I'm just talking nonsense, it can't be it... But if it was like that, I reckon it would be even more hilarious, my head would probably explode from all the hilarious-ness! Do inform us if you find out anything like that, please, because this was just pure comedy, right here, it really was awesome, quite hilarious...
As far as I know, sense 3.0 for HTC saga was a leaked. IMO, its pointless asking their support for answers. Since its not official out yet. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

Obviously solmeone who works in a call center doesn't know **** about unofficial projects and even if they do they can't tell you due to company's policy. Obviously they can't tell you sth like 'It's in beta phase now and we are testing it so keep your fingers crossed and hope we release it this month'

If this is real a policy for the company they ALL should stfu about the unofficial projects. HTC twitter account announced that "“due to Sense’s hardware requirements, only our newest devices (Flyer, EVO 3D, Sensation) will be able to support it.”. But now it seems that Sense 3.0 is coming for DHD and Desire S. So if they "unfortunately don't have exact information about sense#3.0 for DHD" they should shut up and should not mislead the users of other devices.
