Sprint to anounce release date of supersonic?

I seen a rumor that sprint premium account holders got a message saying look out for an announcement of a groundbreaking new device tomorrow. Supersonic anyone?

I love it. We are such phone geeks that we get excited about an announcement of another annoucement. I read VZW is announcing the Nexus tomorrow and been inpatiently wating. We are proud nerds.

I don't think it will be the Nexus. It will be the HTC incredible or maybe both?

I bought it the day after launch then got the Evo 3d on launch day. Now I just bought a used one off ebay for my mom to replace her Hero(my old phone before the 4g) It's been a blast playing around with one again. My 3D is better in almost every respect theres 2 things that bother me though. First is the new aspect ratio on the screen, the second is the great roms. We don't even have a rc for cm7 yet and our ics is nowhere near the 4g.

You'll be getting the real deal with ICS, so who cares how far along progress on something thats gonna get replaced is?
I wouldnt build ICS for the 3VO if its just gonna be replaced by an OTA. Wait for it to drop and customize from there.
The EVO 4g on the other hand, has a lot of development going on simply because its the only way we are going to get it.

sure is amazing the development that goes on for this phone. most other phones get left in the dust way sooner.

His neocore score is 24.7 fps on the EVO. I find that troubling because my Hero pulls that off when running at 767 Mhz.

Actually, all the reports I've read say it has 1 GB internal storage so I guess he could be correct. I'm more worried about the fps score on neocore. The storage problem is fixed with an sdcard upgrade.

I'm thinking once the ROM is torn apart and optimized, it will pull much higher scores.
Try Neocore on the completly stock Hero ROM, see how THAT compares.
Look at it this way, Overclocking the Hero, running a zipaligned/deodexed blah blah blah with JIT, I pull about 30FPS in Neocore. Now imagine running like that on the EVO.

i saw a bit of lag on that video tbh. im perfectly happy with my hero.

WTF is everyone's deal saying **** about the Evo?
It's not even out yet. The software probably isn't fully up to date, thus the reason for the infamous "lag". Not to mention, the Evo is expected to come with Android 2.2, which is said to give Android phones 5x the performance increase in all areas of the phone over the current Android 2.1:: SOURCE
It's not hard to imagine that once the Devs around here get a hold of the software/hardware of the Evo and make modifications; you'll see amazing things being done with the Evo. It might even be able to create a black hole...
Just wait till June 4th, then we'll see its real performance.

Can't provide one, yet. I'll ask my brother though (He works Sprint). However; my comment was: "The Evo is expected to come with Android 2.2" meaning; that it might not and that I'm speculating. This is because Flash 10.1 (the real, finalized version -- which is rumored to be debuting at the Google IO this week) will be running on Android 2.2. It's only logical to think if Flash 10.1 is going to be offered as a feature on the Evo; then Android 2.2 would come with preinstalled on the Evo, as 2.1 does not have the full version -- currently only the lite version (if I remember correctly). We'll see though. I'd love to have 2.2 over 2.1 -- but I'm sure this is only a matter of grabbing any new phone that does have 2.2 and modifying it to work with our phones when/if it is released.

I'm thinking that since they already spent this long getting 2.1 on it (Read: hacking WiMAX support into 2.1) it will ship with 2.1, and may see 2.2 ~6months after release.

I was just going to post this topic we need a list of developers who will work on the new evo3d. Evo has been blessed with one of the best communities on xda and that is how I will truly decide which phone I get from now on, where the devs go, I go.

This question shouldn't even be asked. Every device, "hey guys do you think the devs are going to upgrade from the hero to the evo?" Now it is, "hey guys, do you think the devs are going to get the latest phone?"
Let me go back even more. "This touch pro rocks. Are they devs going to get the touch pro 2?" Of course they do.

sure.. most android phones will have someone that will mess around with it...
but some phones get more and better devs.. more adopters and active community...with more determinations and creativity.
shining examples: G1, hero/eris, incredible, EVO...
just look at the root forum and the list of all the android phones...HTC phones... not all have been as active as the one that I just mentioned.
tell you want... dont worry about it.. and just move on to the next thread/post.

i'd put down $20 bucks each for Toast and Shinzul. like any HTC ROMs, there will be dozens of people making stock based ROMs but only a few can do what those two can. plus what would the evo 3d be without a mostly functioning (or even supported) CM?

well i would venture to say if it was ported over it would be in the dev section, i too have read somewhere it was in the works, but cant remember where, not even 100% sure what synergy is tbh i know its sense 3 but dont know if its an actual sense 3 rom or a 2.1+3.0

Time for a life lesson my friend.
People don't care about the shift
It sucks but it's truth it's just not as popular as everything else the EVO is a revolutionary phone I'm a way so it's very popular but the shift came out right about the time new dual core phones came out so in a devs eyes its not there first pick to develop on but they'll use any resource they got which one was our GB update.

Yea it's very capable with the second gen snapdragon. More capable than the EVO to do anything so it's upsetting that people still develop for a phone with an older processor (I hate to call 1st gen snapdragon old but in the world an pace of technology it is) and that's about to stop selling starting October than a phone that barley came out not even a year ago

But yea I'm sure synergy will eventually make it's way to the shift and if people have heard rumors about the shift well then it's gotta be true because rumors and EVO shift don't go together for reasons stated in above posts

Just got a Shift today!

Upgraded from a Hero, man the difference is out of this world. Been running jaybob's TeamHeroC rom on the Hero, and already rooted and flashed strapped's SupremeSense on the Shift
Loving this phone so far!
(Before anyone asks why I got the Shift and not anything newer it's because I'm with Credo Mobile, not Sprint, and this is the best Android phone they have at the moment. Still, it's a pretty awesome phone!)

This is probably one of the better communitys of developers and users on XDA. although we do have little fallouts from time to time (were human right? )
Supreme Sense is a personal favorite of mine and as a themer thats where I put most of my work.
Im sure you'll be seeing me around the Theme & Apps Section.

This is a beast of a phone

Welcome aboard man, you will see that the Shift should keep you more than happy when it comes to a phone, great camera pretty amazing performance and some of the best AOSP and Sense ROMS I have ran, I had an EVO and got rid of it when I broke it and ended up with a Hero then the Shift and I'm perfectly happy now that we have source for overclock and everything, I don't think I'll be "upgrading" anytime soon.

Thanks! I've already got Supreme Sense on it. I used CM and another AOSP flavored rom on my Hero for most of it's life, so digging on Sense right now. I'll probably flash CM at some point though, maybe if/when we get ICS
I'll definitely check out the IRC!
