The HD2 is unlocked on on the ATT netwrok already How do I install the medianet cab files? I downloaded them to my laptop was I supposed to download them directly to the phone? Can someone please direct me to how to do this. its greatly appreciated. I would appreciate all tips and tricks to get this working the way it should be on ATT also what is the flash rom? yeah call me a new jack...lol It was a long time waiting for this phone in my area.
Yea dude, it is no problem, you should have gotten a cable to connect your phone to your computer, when you connect it it will be in the My Computer area of your computer. Then just drag and drop the .CAB file on the SD card of the phone, and then disconnect your phone from the computer. Go to your SD card from your phone, and run the .CAB file. It should work. I have had to do the same thing. Feel free to ask if you have any problems.

I tried to upgrade to the special edition rom using active sync and a executable file. When I ran the file everything seemed ok, it was communicating with the device and said upgrading it will take about 5 minutes. After a couple of minutes it said cant open port use pc device manager to make sure ports are enabled. I did this but when i clicked ok the programme shut down. Now active sync does not recognise my device and the device just shows upgrading it will take about 5 mins do not remove usb connection or power adapter from your pocket pc.
Anyone any ideas as I'm new to this I dont have a clue.
Thanks in advance
Mick.
Use the SD card method and please dont ask for a step by step guide. Search this forum it is somewhere around.
Hi to everyone
I have an xda (i believe its a wallaby) modelpw10a1 ram64mb. I want to unlock the unit, but have no idea where to begin.... i did follow peters advice for unlocking an xda 2 via the cradle/activesync/disable usb port method but nothing happens (apparently windows should recognise new devise)
is there a program i can run to unlock the xda1?
Another thing - i have just moved abroad to Thailand, the local gsm network here is very good so it shouldnt make any difference once it is (hopefully) unlocked?
Thasnks in advance

Any clues?

Sorry, its the above link that wont let me download.
the link works just fine for me
Frustration
I managed to get the unlocking file, and copied over to my xda... but the first thing it says when i open it is 'error getting the unlock code'
Is there another file i can use? Am i using the wrong one?
tried this one?

Massive frustration!
I cant believe how hard this is. Have been on it all day! Everyone else on this forum seems to be unlocking easily, am i doing something silly here?
Thanks for the latest link Rudegar, but im having the same problem - it wont open. On clicking the link, Im asked the usual ''run file from current location or save to disk'' either one gives me the following error message;
''the publisher cannot be determined due to the problems below.....''
''authenticode signiture not found''
''access to the specified device path file denied''
So in short, i cant open it.
My friend sent me the XDAunlock zip file, i transfered to my XDA but it came up with
''error unlocking sim''
So thats obviously the wrong file for my XDA...
I read that the XDAunlock only works if it has the wireless feature? How do i find out if i have wireless or not?
Sorry for sounding so clueless here, but really i am not to sharp with this sort of thing. Ive allways used my XDA happily till i moved abroad, now im buggered if i cant unlock it!
Someone please help!!!!
i think the link i just gave to the allinOneUnlock thingy requires to be run from the pc while the xda is connected to activesync
tried that
Rudegar, appreciate you sticking with me here...
No, its not a question of the cradle being connected or not im afraid, i tried that allreeady with both the cradle connected and also disconnected. It just wont have it, im totaly lost!
by cradle do you mean that you have tried with
the xda connected to activesync as in being connected after the sync is finished ?
or have you tried the xda connected but activesync not connected ?
have you tried another sim card to make sure it's still sim locked ?
Hi all -
Newbie here, so I'll apologize upfront for any errors. I've been searching for the last 6 hours and have learned a lot, but still can't fix my problem.
I tried to upgrade the radio only, but after that there is no radio version, no phone or internet, system on MDA is VERY slow, and I can't connect to active sync. I can get bootloader up, but when I try to install the factory rom I downloaded from this site, it says "no device connected." I've tried to copy it to an sd card and install from there, but that doesn't work either.
Every suggestion seems to need activesync, which I don't have. Is there a way to download and copy something to an SD card and install rom from there?
Please help. I'm out of town and without a phone.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!
I have same problem
No phone, everything slow, activesync not working...
How can i install everything again if it doesnt recognize PC???
Pls help

^^^ just right click on the cab file. and select cabviaacticesync. then when you sync your mda it will install. you can delete any programs off your phone in the settings.
try that. that helps for people that cant figure it out. but all you would normaly do is move the cab file to you mda.
are you using windows vista or xp? if xp, download the latest version of active sync from Microsoft.com. If using vista get the windows mobile device center from the same place. Connect by following instructions, then explore the advice and drop the .cab file somewhere on it. Pick up your phone; open file explorer; and click on the file you put there. .cab files do everything themselves.
As far as backing everything up, i dont know the best way to do it. Just put stuff on your comp, thats what i do.
oh and next time, please try and search. Other people are going to yell at you
Hey guys,
I'm returning my phone for a warrenty replacement. because the micro-usb isn't working. it won't activesync. so, is there a stock usa tmobile ROM nhb file I can DL onto my memory card, via another phone, and flash it? can't seem to find that file. only able to find the .exe file. HELP!
right click the exe, choose unpack here, one of the files that get unzipped (the exe is just a zip file really) is called ruu_signed.nbh. copy that file to an sd card (not the stock 16gb card, that probably wont work, get a 2gb card for best results, or 8gb if no 2gb available) formatted to FAt32, rename the file leoimg.nbh, and enter bootloader to start the flash.
just extract the nbh file using izarc or winrar

Kyleds, dont mean to insult your intelligence, but does the phone charge? Did the issue happen after a ROM flash, or is it something that's visually damaged/broken?
The reason Im asking is because from my personal experience, I cant get the phone to sync with the WMDC or activesync if the "enable faster data synchronization" box is checked on the device. Every time I flash a ROM, I have to uncheck that box, otherwise I WILL NOT get it to sync. To access the that setting you must go to Start> Settings> Connections> USB to PC>. Once there, you will see the "Activesync", "Disk Drive", or "Internet Sharing" options. Directly under the Activesync setting there is a box with the "Enable faster data synchronization". Hope it helps.
