Annoying!!!!phoneweaver auto connects to internet during profile switches? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

is there anyone using Phoneweaver? a profile switching software.
Does Phoneweaver aotumatically attempt to connect to internet everytime it switches from one profile to another profile?
Why Phoneweaver attempts to connect to internet? seeking updates? sending data?
I realized this that's because everytime Phoneweaver switches from offline to online,an annoying window will pop-up as follows:
cannot connect
dialed
the answering modem has disconnected . To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap settings.
This means Phoneweaver is attempting to connect to internet, but because the radio has not fully ready (during switching from offline to online),so the internet is not available either, so there is such annoying pop-up.
if auto connection to internet can be set to several seconds later (than radio is ready), this annoying pop-up will be avoided.
NOW THE QUESTION IS: HOW TO TURN OFF THIS AUTO CONNECTION THING?
Due to this I will not use offline profile just to avoid this pop-up window. G-profile has same problem.
My internet connect is fine,I surf internet everyday,so trying to say something about my internet connection settings is probably not the direction.

I have used Phoneweaver on several ROMs and never encountered this issue.

Pocket IE via activesync issues

Hi,
I hope I'm not repeating a question that's been asked a load of times already - but I've been searching for the solution, and can't find it...
When I use bluetooth to connect to activesync, the internet connection via the PC works fine for simple things such as email and telnet, but when I use pocket IE to access many web pages, I get an error message saying that it can't open the page. These are pages that it has no problem with when using gprs connection.
Any idea what's going on?
Cheers,
Phil
Have you enabled pass-through on activesync? Also change your settings in network connections/Advanced/select networks and change what the programs connect through. select your work network then when you sync it will open IE through your pc connection

GPRS Question

GPRS is new territory for me. I'm planning to apply for a GPRS acct with my telco
I'm afraid that once I've configured the settings for internet via GPRS from my telco, it will always use GPRS whenever I want to connect to the internet.
How do I switch back to normal mode when I'm at home and accessing the internet thru ActiveSync?
On my EXTENDED_ROM, there is a file called vodafone.CAB which will configure my phone with Vodafone settings (I'm with Vodafone). Whenever I run that file (after a hard reset), I cannot access the internet via ActiveSync. Everytime I run PIE, it always defaults to GPRS.
I don't know how to switch to use internet via activesync once I'm on the GPRS plan and then switch back to GPRS when I'm not at home.
If you are concerned about it using GPRS once you are connected to ActiveSync you could always switch to flight mode. Not ideal, I admit, if you use your phone alot and don't like it being turned off.
I had two profiles on mine, one GPRS and one dial up. Even when I set the default to the dial up (CSD) it still tried to use GPRS. Fault with my pocket PC only? maybe. What was strange was that even after I deleted the GPRS profile and soft reset it still was using GPRS! I had to hard reset in the end.
So, I would backup your pocket PC before installing the GPRS profiles.
If you have a large bandwidth then it probably won't matter to you but if not I would definately install a bandwidth monitor as you may also find that some apps you install may also try to periodically get internet access.
The problem with Windows Mobile 2003 is that you can't seem to tell it to ask you first. Microsoft seem to think that you either want GPRS on permanently or don't use it at all. I am sure there are a lot of people out there who just want to use it from time to time. If an app wants internet it just goes and gets it!
Having said that, even with CSD, it will still dial out when it wants. To get around that problem I created 2 profiles, one of which doesn't have a userid and password. I set the default profile to the one without userid. That way if something tries to get internet access it first asks the user to enter their userid and password - in effect it safeguards against a rogue dial out.
I personally don't use GPRS as I found out that my CSD access will use my free minutes. Since I hardly use my phone for voice calls I may as well make use of the free minutes for internet access.
Ok did some searching around ppcsg, apparently you can turn off GRPS by pressing the RED button (the disconnect talk button) and holding it for a few seconds.
Or use this tool

Question is whether once the GPRS is turned off, will internet access be automatically be directed to the ActiveSync connection (assuming I'm connected via ActiveSync)
To use internet via AS you should configure 'my work network' correctly under the 'connections' settings. The 'my isp' connection is meant for dial-up & gprs access to the internet.
Sadly can't tell how to do it in detail as my magician is my wireless modem & at work the connection isn't allowed. Maybe the help files are of any use in this.
Cheers, M
yes, mine, just automatically uses my internet connection thro' my PC with AS, but as soon as I disconnect from my PC, my Qtek switches over to GPRS.. which is pretty cool.
dood, care to share how you achieve this?
I suppose the question is, if you are connected to a PC which is on the internet, why would you want internet access on the Magician anyway? Why not just use Thunderbird or other web browser?
Outlook will sync the inbox for e-mail when connected via activesync...
The joy of surfing the net while watching TV lying on the bed..can't really do that wth a laptop..too heavy

how to stop auto connection of my gprs?

my cellphone load gets suck out most of the time because it connects to the internet on its own, is there a setting/program that prompts me first if i want to connect to gprs...
many thanks
Hi,
Your phone is most likely trying to connect to check your email. To prevent this happening, from your Inbox select Menu/Tools/Options. Click on your email account, press Next till you reach page 4 then Options. De-Select the box which says 'Connect and check for messages every:'
Hope this helps.
GPRS connection
I have a similar problem using exchange push email. I have established an Internet connection with WLan and checked that I can access my webmail (which is my Exchange mail). Despite this to update email the phone automatically connects GPRS - this is really annoying. I read once that this is set in the registry when one installs the operator customisations. Can anyone tell me how to change this?
this tool
http://www.gb-soft.cz/xdaII/
can be set to auto disconnect gprs after x seconds/minuts
GB Soft Tweak
Thanks for the suggestion.
I tried this and it doesnt seem to fix the problem. Although I am not excactly clear on the settings.
I tried the Turn Off GPRS option with a 5 min setting, trued Search GPRS [G] on start radio and Search [G] on start GPRS connection.
With regards
Jeff

hotmail connected via cellar not wifi

Hi there,
I have a question about an annoying problem that I've only managed to find one (unanswered) question to on the web.
I am currently using WM6.1 and I use to read email from my Hotmail account, amongst other things. The problem is that the messaging client ALWAYS tries to download my mail via 3G/GPRS even when there's a WiFi connection available. This occurs both when I initiate the send/receive using TouchFlo 3D or from within the mail client.
Connection manager is, as far as I'm aware, configured correctly, and PIE/Opera/weather will all happily use WiFi to connect to the internet, only using my data connection when WiFi isn't available.
The same results occur with connection manager configured in either of the following ways:
Internet Connection = "My ISP" settings with 3G modem connection
Work Connection = Default "My Work Network" settings
WiFi Access Point = Connects to Internet
Network Card = Connects to Internet
OR
Internet Connection = "My Work Network" with 3G modem connection and "This network connects to the internet" enabled
Work Connection = As Internet Connection
WiFi Access Point = Connects to Work
Network Card = Connects to Work
Interestingly, if I disable my data connection and enable WiFi I CAN send/receive mail over the WiFi connection, so it seems like the data connection is being used in preference to the WiFi one.
Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?!
Thanks,
Mike
Known issue and it is a pain as I don't have any mobile coverage in the house but I do have a wifi network but can't sync hotmail through Wifi
Same frustrating issue here. Hate it.
Even tried the modaco nodata hack so that windows live didn't even know that I had data, and with wifi going great it just says there is no connection. Pretty retarded.
yes mines too there should be away to change this Setting.
This is a real pain for sure. But I have experienced that if I turn off the phone copletely and then connect to the internet via WiFi hotmail does sync via the WiFi-connection. Just thought that I would mention this as a possible last resort.
It may also give some ideas to people trying to fix this... shortcoming.

Hmm strange I will have to try this out.
Thanks!
any Updates?
I have this same problem as well
The only way seems to be to turn your phone off and then use Wifi.
oh i will try it so basically turn the Phone on Airplane Mode

Internet Connection

Hello,
I'm confused by the internet connection of my Topaz. I have set it to connect to 'my work network' so there is no internet connection possible over 3G/gprs/edge, but only when i'm connected to my computer over usb. When I don't set my phone like that, my experience is that it connects to the internet like all the time (with huge costs from my provider as a result)
On my past phones (regular phones), I used to have the internet enabled all the time, there wasn't even an option to turn it off I guess. They only went online when I opened the webbrowser and it disconnected edge automaticly when closing.
With my current setting on my topaz (work network) I can't update my status on facebook or twitter as it can't connect, and that's a bummer. But I can't turn it on because then it keeps connected all the time and my bill rises incredibly fast in one day.
How do I set my device so that the weather and all other automatic things can't connect to the mobile internet, in a way that the device only connects when I start to browse or update my status, and disconnects right after that? I don't want to disable weather totally because I still want to allow it updating through my USB connection.
I know there is a button 'Data connection' in the communication manager, but turning it off still doesn't do anything, i can still connect to the internet. When locking the device I can choose terminate connection, but it reopens automaticly.....
I simply don't want any data being transfered behind my back.
Search and download "NoData"
