Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone actually tried using acetone or a sugarcube to remove the T-mobile logo where the earpiece is? I'm currently using the phone in Canada, and all my collegues/friends ask me where they could sign up for T-mobile over here in Canada and it's getting rather annoying.
I'm willing to go ahead and try the sugarcube/acetone method if people are having doubts, if no one else had tried it.

Alright, thanks. I'll be waiting for your reply! Just don't forget.
to noob3r.. im sure it would work but would look nasty after the fact as the text is under a clear coat ... so you would lose the nice clear coat and see that something has been removed/ scratched off...
i would just tell your friends that yes t-mobile is here in canada and it goes by the name of Rogers
True... It is under the coating. If a logo bothers then the only thing to do is probably buy a top part and carefully replace it if it is possible. I am sure it should be.

yes indeed! on the ground... brandddddd new. I mean not a scratch or scuff on it... so lucky.
But I am wondering a few things... first off what to do with it? I already have a Cingular 8525 (Hermes) and I do have Tmobile and live in America.
What is better about the Wing compared to the 8525? I heard there was a processor boost and more internal memory is this correct?
Also, how and where to get it unlocked? I travel to Europe periodically.

One idea. Just bring it to the "Lost and Found Office" - you would be happy if oneother would do it.

They also record the IMEI with each call. Just an FYI. So, if it's reported stolen, it can (in theory) be barred from T-Mo's network.

And they will be able to see that your SIM is using it.
You "found" it?? Then return it!
No help from my side ...
What should I do? You're kidding right? Return the damn thing!!! Didn't your mutha teach youse better than that? I'm sure you can find the owner info on the device. You want a Wing... Buy a Wing!
Besides, you have T-Mobile?
Stick your sim card in it. 5 -4 -3 -2 -1....
Hello Mr. Finder-of-lost-Wings-yet-won't-return-them? The persons Wing you are using was murdered and being you have the persons phone, we is be gonna arrest youse butt!!!
If you lost your 8525 and I found it, would you want me to return it? If not, I'll PM you my address and you can mail it to me and pretend you lost it.

Nice. Let's hope that you never have the misfortune of losing yours and having someone find it with that attitude.
I work for t-mobile... and they can track to see where an imei is being used, so they will find you, and what they will do is cut your service off if you are using it for too long... im just saying
What ever happened to that phone????? You may be able to find the guy in here:

Man WTF?! The Hermes is way better compared to the Wing. The Wing has half the CPU (200 vs. 400). I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet since it was one of the questions the man asked. Why would you even WANT to keep it?
so what have you decdied to do?
Dude, check "owner info" and return it.
If anyone decided to keep my Wing when they could easily return it to me, I'd pour A-1 sauce down his pants and let my pit bull loose...
FYI...
I have researched the "IMEI tracking" issue at length with both Tmobile and ATT (formerly Crapular) and both sides have told me repeatedly (CR, managers and acct. reps) that they DO NOT blacklist IMEIs.
Also, they DO NOT have agreements with other providers around the world (or each other) to share each operator's blacklisted IMEIs.
I know UK providers share their lists, and Voda providers throughout the world share the Voda list.
When I asked about police involvement, I was told that there needs to be a court order for the IMEI tracking info to be released.
Now, that being said... I agree with all others. You should return it. There is plenty of info in a phone to figure out who it may belong to. Call records, SMS, emails, maybe a doc or two, owner info. Besides, if the person lost the phone they will report it lost, Tmobile will deactivate the SIM and at the subscriber's request activate a new one. If you just were to call that number (which would be found in the phone itself) then you will reach the owner.
Personally I have never lost a phone. Bricked one once but never lost. Quite frankly I would be pissed and angry. Very pissed and angry! And if someone was to return it, I would take them out for a very nice steak dinner. Being the phone nut that I am, money is really no object when it comes to something i've dedicated my spare time to for many years.
As the title says. I'm looking at picking up a streak, one of the beta ones. I know they have at&t issues. but is there anything else I should be aware of?
Are they known to have any issues?
Any known hardware defects?

Im using it with Rogers here in Toronto... been using it since August. No difference between the Beta and Retail. If anything, it's better because I never saw most of the issues others have been complaining about with any of custom ROMS. Also, by default you are able to install third party apps where AT&T locked it out.
Just so you know though... Rogers IS coming out with it any day now.
I feel silly for not knowing that.. I wonder if it'll be locked to rogers?
I'm using mine on TMO in the US. No problems, functionality-wise. 2.1 O2 ROM. The silver "Dell" logo on back came off in the extreme Texas heat, but that's no biggie. It works like a charm.

interesting.. you can purchase it now from dell.ca btw. Though it says it's a SIM FREE DEVICE for rogers only.
http://www.dell.com/ca/p/mobile-streak/pd
One thing to note about the betas is they are under absolutely NO warranty. So if your device fails after buying it, its time to buy a new one. And if the seller's device fails, well, that's probably why he's selling it.

Looks like dell updated the page and removed the sim free statement.. The price is pretty great.. Just need to find out if it can be unlocked like the at&t one with the card.. Anyone ordered one yet?

You didn't have lookout installed on your Android ROM by any chance did you?
I tried remote install Plan B......but just my luck my battery was dead :-/
if you still have the box or you know the imei, better call your network provider / customer service. you can have the phone locked / blocked from ever being used. tke note that the network provider may not necessarily be the one to lock your phone. at least that's how it is here in melbourne. i had to call a different number / customer service to request for my imei to be blocked when i lost my touch pro 2. cheers

They don't block IMEI numbers in the US.
As sort of "bait".....I have left the phone on and I have been monitoring the usage. The phone has not been used at all.
My general thinking was I wanted someone to find the phone and turn it on, so Plan B could install and push me the location.
I honestly believe....if it has/had been found....because it was dead and cracked, the person probably threw it away thinking it had been run over by car or something and "doesn't work" by the appearance

ah, really? didn't know that, thanks mate. just out of curiousity and pardon my ignorance, why can't imei be blocked in the us? does it have to do with the carriers themselves? cheers
if you have give nthe comand to remote install plan b then ass soon as someone turns on your ophone(if by chance) you can get the location

Well...I just ordered an Inspire 4G.....Not exactly the Incredible S I wanted, I still want it....but probably not wise since a billion phones will be coming out, with dual core and all that
But I really don't care about the hype of the new phones that will be coming out soon.....my HD2 was good enough for me
The phone is STILL yet to be used.....so either thrown away or left in a car under seat or something. IDK IDK IDK
So I guess im off to learning a new phone..:-/..all the quirks, installation steps, roms, etc. for the Inspire
Doesn't matter, as long as it's something you want. Dual core isn't everyone's cup of tea anyways. Plus they're hell of expensive, enough to buy you a capable/good lappy. Have fun with your new phone. :3

T-Mobile is starting this feature in June, from what I have read.
Was wondering if T Mobile stocks this or not? I am aware it got pulled last summer , but thought it got put back again, cant see it on their website, would the stores sell it?
Just to answer my own question, no they dont sell it anymore. Thought pehaps by the off chance they might have some inventory via customer services which they didnt.

I'm on EE with mine and everything is perfect, its been much better since I installed the Oreo beta as well so that might be something worth considering..
Hi there,
I have been wondering the same question, although I have just left it on the top selection.
I bought mine in the USA and brought it back to use in the UK, I'm on O2. Any suggestions from anyone would be welcome...
I've also got a annoying issue whereby whenever the phone loses signal completely or as soon as I put it in airplane mode I get a "Phone Services" message stating that I have a new voicemail, yet I don't. I not sure that I can do much about it...
Cheers
