How much did it cost and how much time for delivery. I mean do you have to pay import taxes.

I'm on EE with mine and everything is perfect, its been much better since I installed the Oreo beta as well so that might be something worth considering..

Hi there,
I have been wondering the same question, although I have just left it on the top selection.
I bought mine in the USA and brought it back to use in the UK, I'm on O2. Any suggestions from anyone would be welcome...
I've also got a annoying issue whereby whenever the phone loses signal completely or as soon as I put it in airplane mode I get a "Phone Services" message stating that I have a new voicemail, yet I don't. I not sure that I can do much about it...
Cheers

Try the OREO beta, it really improves signal strength. My phones been much better since I installed it ...

Ok, thanks for the tip. Will look into that when I get chance...

What about earpiece speaker? Does it sound ok? Its in a strange place, not facing same way as screen towards your ear.

Touch HD not recognizing the SIM - Please Help

After a long wait, I just received the Touch HD via FedEx this morning. I immediately insterted the SIM card and powered up the device.
It is not recognizing the SIM card. It gives me a SIM missing and emergency calls only message. I am in the USA and had it shipped from Clove in the UK. This is really frustrating.
I tried with couple of other SIM cards from my friends, same issue with those SIM cards as well. I did a Hard Reset multiple times now, but no issue. I contacted the Clove, they have asked me to ship it back.
I do not want to spend $80 odd UDD to ship it back if there is anyother way to trouble shoot the problem. Everything else in the device works just FINE, except for the SIM error.
I am using T-Mobile USA SIM which runs on 1900 MHz frequency.
Any advice for you all will be grealy appriciated.
Yeah....I have to figure this one out as well. The detail specs says that it should be able to run on T Mobile frequency.
Please someone respond to this thread!!!!!

It looks like the sim module on your device is defective, i had the same problem with my HTC P3600i but they replaced the module for me free.
U ordered from clove and got it defective?? Damn i was just gonna place my order with clove..anybody else ordered from clove??Are your devices functioning properly?
This is very important!!! I was hoping to use Tmobile sim myself. Anyone has it running on tmobile in USA?
I'm supposed to be getting mine today, will update with the news.
i bought mine from expansys fr and im using with no problem with tmobile usa. it automatically recognized and set my connection so its all good.

I have ordered many, many items from Clove and on each and every occasion I have been provided a first class service regardless if there was a problem or not.
No matter where you purchase the device from you can not guarantee it to be problem free. As such you can't blame Clove ~ all CLove do is receive stock from the wholesalers.
Occasionally there will be a defective item which has slipped through HTC's quality control check.

They do, but that is for 3G support (don't ask..... the boneheads in Bellevue made a decision that essentially puts all T-Mobile US customers on a 3G island. They might as well have been bought by Sprint!). The Touch HD will operate just fine on the EDGE network and still support the 850/900/1800/1900Mhz frequencies for voice traffic.

Let me clear one thing. I NEVER blamed Clove for a defective device. It's not like they would send me a used one. I just mentioned that I bought it from Clove, UK because I had to ship it back to them and wait for them to test it and send me a new one. So I was wondering if there was anyother way to troubleshoot that issue.
In anycase, I emailed Clove about the issue and they responded immediately and asked me to send the device back, which I did. It is in transit and it SUX that I will not receive my HD for another week or so...

Same thing to me. Just a reset away and it's all fine... A happy HD user... this device really ROCKS...

got mine from vodafone this morining

im completely blown away, how fast and smooth everything runs. internet is REALLY fast, faster than iphone by a few seconds to load a page. only annoyance so far is when typing it always auto corrects my words to something i didn't type. auto correct is also turned off in setting
the sceen is amazing, cant tell it has only 65k colours
feel free to merge this thread...
Glad you got yours from voda. I was supposed to be getting mine today as i got a text and consignment number but nothing appears on the dpd website when i enter my tracking number. Better be here tomorrow or i'll be really annoyed
Nice one mate. What is the branding like on it? If at all? Very minimal?
I saw the dummy, and it looks amazing. Should be arriving tomorrow for me!

Mate - when the keyboard is open, make sure that ABC is selected in the button above the left shift key (XT9 or ABC).
This REALLY turns off auto-correction. I've had problems with that myself. I wanted suggestions, so I could select a word without having to type the whole thing, but couldn't stop it "auto-correcting" words. REALLY annoying when it's simply a word that it doesn't recognise and it just guesses! lol
i hope so too man, its been awful waiting for it lol. maybe you should ring voda and enquire about the dpd thing though, just to make sure?
oh and there is no branding at all. everything is left untouched
johncmolyneux ah cheers mate. gah i think they still need an update for the screen, press wrong buttons alll the friggin time :\

From what i understand vodafone no longer lock their phones to the network. A change was made a couple of years ago - i had a N95 at the time and they unlocked it free of charge due to the cange in their policy.

yep sounds unlocked to me. Thats a bonus!
I think Vodafone wanted to get the HD2 out faster than anyone else, so obviously decided not to brand it or bother locking it.
Smart move on their part I think. Certainly lots of people getting new contracts to get it!
Lucky You
Lucky you man. DPD said they tried to deliver it today and even left a note, yet I got nothing from them, and they didn't leave any note.
Really pissed off with DPD as i've waited so long for this phone and they just screwed me.
Well lets hope i get it tomorrow.
My wife had SE M600 and then diamond befoore upgrading to HD2 on Vodafone. None of them were network locked. Also a friend of mine had Pro2 from vodafone and it was also unlocked. Vodafone does not seem to bother with locking the phones for the last few years. Although HD2 is not being delivered until later this week, it is good to hear that their policy on locking has not changed.
Ah great new about the unlocking was thinking that i might had to try and get it unlocked as gonna be using a pay as you go sim, since 18 and dont realy want to be tied to a contract anyone know which would be the best pay as you go for an unlimited internet package been looking at O2 but had no luck on finding there "fair usage policy" and when calling i just get told its unlimited. they realy are usless on these phone support lines

O2's so called "unlimited" is 200MB per month. (Chuckles and wonders what their "restricted" access would be like).
Guess what. Mine won't be here today either......... :-(
Turns out Vodafone didn't give DPD my full address details, so they couldn't route the package. Talk about hopeless.
It's just as well I phoned DPD, as Vodafone were still convinced that everything was okay for delivery today.
If anyone is still waiting for their phone, I suggest you call DPD on 0845 9 300 100 and make sure that everything is okay.
I've now given DPD my mobile number, and complete directions to my house. Hopefully, there won't be any more cockups.
On the plus side, I did manage to get Vodafone to give me a £30 credit to my account for the inconvenience of spending another day at home waiting for delivery.

If you buy direct they have their own firmware for the phone so you can follow this guide.
https://ee.co.uk/help/phones-and-de...setting-up-wifi-calling-on-the-sony-xperia-xz
Otherwise it does not even appear in the phone. Its a build in feature from them, They have some sort of partition on the phone.

Yeah I understand now thanks for that. I may need to try and root this 1 day the chrome browser seems to have the ee touch as home page on it is ee and there's no way to change and no way to uninstall it. That's the only thing ee I can see. I'll give this ee calling ago. I would of brought from carohonewarehouse but£40 cheaper at ee and black and silver in stock was a no brainer.

Not sure.
I'll get mine later today so will test and find out then.
Will see if we can get this working !
I thought i'll never get mine, i've ordered phone through service's provider online shop 9.10.2016(preorder) and had to wait until 13.10.2016(all providers in my country started deliveries that day- start of event 14.10.2016-18.11.2016) since it was end of the week i've recived mine 17.10.2016. The same day i tried to register my phone with a code i was given, to my suprise it did not worked at all, i've send an email to company that organised this promotion, it took two days and my perseverance to finally make it work, i had to try diffrent combination of 2 middle letters. 19.10.2016 i fortunatly registered it and waiting had started. 7.11.2016 after all i got an email that confirmed proper registration and that they will send it in the next 30 days. Just hope i'll get it late next week or week after that. Did any of you guys got the same problem? How long it took before you recived yours headphones?
No I just popped my IMEI number in and got mine like 2/3 days after.
Was pretty simple if I'm honest.
It's probably my luck i guess, company that organizes that is greenmark, a third party not Sony's Polish branch
Finally i got mine yeasterday, sound quality is good, build quality is acceptable, they fit well and comfort of use is high
Filled in my details and it wouldn't accept me for the offer.
Sony XZ Purchased from Carphone Warehouse, member of staff mentioned the headphone offer to me during purchase but the offer website doesn't accept my IMEI so i'm out of luck

T Mobile still sell the priv or not?

Was wondering if T Mobile stocks this or not? I am aware it got pulled last summer , but thought it got put back again, cant see it on their website, would the stores sell it?
Just to answer my own question, no they dont sell it anymore. Thought pehaps by the off chance they might have some inventory via customer services which they didnt.

UK Users Thread

Figured it would be nice for all us Brits to have a thread discussing how the U11 is on UK networks.
EE - VoLTE and WIFI Calling work out of the box on unlocked model from Very.co.uk
got mine from Carphone Warehouse on an EE contract and although unlocked it did have WiFI calling enabled, although in theory , this should not be the case as its not EE branded. Not complaining though I do not know how VoLTE works so i don't know how to check it. Might be the case that all unlocked UK CID models can support wifi calling, regardless of carrier branding. So nordic or others might not be able to do that.
Only gripe , and I have created a separate thread for that, is that Galileo support is not enabled on my phone which is strange and kinda stupid.

Ring someone (or 150). If your phone stays on 4g you have VoLTE.

Hmmmm I probably would. Better everything apart from audio volume from headphones.
The only concern is the durability and smashing if I manage to drop it especially after coming from the HTC 1 0 all metal. I'll see how the Oneplus 5 does as that is also very tempting.
I have a u11 coming from O2 but unlocked. I use it with EE but I can't find a way to have 4g calling and Wi-Fi calling.
Someone could help?
Sounds like it probably has O2 firmware on it which means you're SOL for the time being until S-OFF arrives.
My device is unlocked unbranded stock firmware and 4g VoLTE calling and WiFi calling worked from day one. The phone actually asked if I wished to enable them.
Do you have the option in settings for WiFi calling (4g calling is in phone settings).
I'm on O2. You have to request it through the O2 app. Scroll down to 'Device details' and you will see Wifi and 4G calling. Click on it and it will send a request to O2, takes 24 hours.

That's what I did as my 10 still in contract with Vodafone for a year more but I really wanted an upgraded. Loving the u11 so far it has fixed the issues I had with my 10 like bad wifi/mobile signal problems with Bluetooth to my car system (weird micro cuts every so often)
The first device I got was faulty rebooted/shut down all the time couldn't even get through the setup wizard, got a refund and ordered a new one that is now working great.
Do wish Vodafone would enable WiFi and 4G calling but heck knows when/if that will happen unless you have a business account which I believe have it.
Edit: Seems vodafone does have this option now, can be enabled from your account it seems.

Has anyone in the UK single sim received the Oreo update yet?
I am with EE , CID EVE__001 and still on Nougat 7.1.1 and firmware 1.27.91.10 with security patch October.
I am a bit disappointed by their lack of updates and support regarding updates.

The Oreo update was released today. Currently having trouble updating mine, it downloads the update but then reboots into TWRP recovery then can't go any futher.
You have to return to stock before updating via OTA, with stock firmware, no root etc.
Bootloader can stay unlocked though.

Did you ever get this to work?
I'm happy with the phone apart from 2 issues:
- Still on the November security patch, and considering it's nearly March I don't think this is acceptable. America has December.
- Google Assistant does not work. Voice activation does not work and all the settings are greyed out. Have looked online and cannot find a fix. Have read even a restore won't fix it!
If these issues were addressed then this would be the best phone I've had.
Just to add to this. I have an unlocked / unbranded u11 from CPW UK. O2 sim pay monthly account. I've enabled the option in the app as above but still no toggles etc in my settings menu. I called htc UK just now and they said that a bug in the oreo update has removed this option, it's a known bug and the next update will address it... Seriously? Also no idea when the update will roll out...
Had mine since January after an unplanned upgrade and I'm really glad my HTC 10 got mullered by my friend's kid. Carphone Warehouse piled on extras and I eventually started pushing back to stop the freebies getting out of hand - had to move to EE from Vodafone for some reason I can't remember - not an issue. Rooted while on the wine 2 nights later so as to increase the suspense and the chance of bricking it - I went at it half cut basically and nearly trashed it, which is so much fun.
Can't grumble in Manchester city about signal or service although EE has a website that suggests they are delaying any move into the post 90's era and I'm sure they have a reason we'll one day marvel at when they suddenly replace a web presence so **** it must be deliberate digital art or summat - like Tracey Emin and Banksy making a collaborative statement about Google ruining everything - that is to be replaced by the tech from the movie War Games to make it more modern. At least the customer service is accessible if needed and don't annoy me with 'suggestions' like an app. that tells me things I know already but in a different way which makes it exciting and utterly essential.
The u11 is a top phone and if someone gave me a Samsung I'd curse the fool who did so. There's a list of superior spec's that the recent Samsung phones possess and yet on benchmark tests they mostly squeeze into a slight lead and can't manage to avoid being made by Samsung which means that it has lots of stuff but none of it is connected right and it will eventually make you feel angry because it slowly reveals its nature as a piece of crap with buttons like a phone.
I just wish HTC would explore an alternative to the Android system because Google are getting a bit shifty and I don't like the way they are more powerful than God but get all hissy with developers - they come at you like an all-powerful bastard when they're pissed but always do a great job of being really rubbish at maintaining a standpoint and eventually they go away - still, Stalin was bit annoying and no one would have thought he'd end up killing 10 million people before the War even started but he had the tools and then the bad mood - if Google don't do evil it's only cos they haven't seen the projections from Wall Street that show the profit they can make. If any company can shake Google surely HTC can - Samsung may do so but totally unintentionally and probably due to the distraction caused by phones that set aflame like a crappy transformer that is a phone AND a firework - then neither.
