Hi
I have searched through several HDWall threads, but have not yet found a manual or installation instructions anyway (even googling).
I cannot get either 0.27b or 0.28 to install on my laptop. HDWalls installed on my TP2 fine.
Can anyone direct me to an original install thread or a manual or similar to help me please.
What am I doing wrong?
I am using winXP and a TP2 with win6.5.

Honestly, the only 'instructions' are what you'll find in the original app thread for HDW (this one), both in the first post and throughout the thread.
We'll need a little more detail to be able to help, what error(s) do you get when you try to run HDWalls? There's no real install needed, you just have to extract the folder in the zip file to your desktop or wherever you want it, and run the "HDWall" executable inside.

When I tried to run/install HDwall nothing happened at all, but now reading the thread I have discovered that I was missing several pre-requisites. Sorted that and now it runs.
Thanks, Now I just have to figure out using it.

Great, I'm glad it's working. I'm guessing you just needed CF 3.5 on your PC?

When I try to run a cab file on the XDA Exec I get the following error:
Unable to install, Uncertificed sytem software detected.
How do I work around this, do I need to do something to the CAB file or the O/S to make it accept the file?

In the XDA FTP secton ,there is a CAB file to disable security
If you dont know where is the FTP, please use the search button, or go to wiki of xda dev and near the bottom there is a link to FTP tutorial
Ive spent most of the afternoon searching, Ive run the following cab file which I believe you are referring to Default_Signed_DisableSecurity.CAB if it isnt then be a good chap and point me at the right file name, the search engine on this site isnt that accurate!!!!
Oh and it doesnt help trying to make smart comments, if you dont want to help then please dont post. not everyone asks a question without doing research beforehand.

First of all, Yes, that is the file I was talking about.
Second, if you read my post correctly, I was commenting on using the SEARCH option with regards to HOW TO ACCESS the FTP site. as there are a lot of people who do not know how to access the FTP site and in the wiki, it is very carefully explained on how to do it.
So, if you think I am making smart comments, then I kinda feel offended. I was trying to help. and am not sure I did but I don't see any SMART COMMENT in my reply. Did I say you didnt research? How come you go off all agressive?
Please be clearer regarding what part of my reply was a "SMART COMMENT" so I know what went wrong.
If I offended you then I appologise, I have been on many forums, when I ask a quesiton the first person that reads the post generally comes back with a do a search or look in the FTP assuming that I have not already done that. I always exhaust all avenues that I can before posting. I have tried the Hacks over and over to no avail. the error message is still there. The CAB file in quesiton was extracted from an XDA2S so may be incompatible??

No prob, we are all here to help eachother. Since the XDA2S is WM2003SE and not WM5 maybe this is the problem. What thas this particular CAB file do? Maybe someone can suggest an alternative

Has that something to do with BlackBerry? What does it do?
Its the Blackberry software for PDA's unfortunately it seems to be locked to BlueAngel at the moment, I would be keen to find a Universal WM5 version!!

Well I would suggest you to send your device to efrost, and donate 100 bucks, I'm sure he would be able to find a way to put it on your device...

I was told to download SDKcert (.cab) to confirm the missing certificates that prevented the installation on my dual touch.
I used the "SEARCH" of the forum, then the research, advanced research in a single post and then google but have found NOTHING download.
So kindly tell me where someone could possibly get it without having to read 76 pages to find it?

whilst this isnt an iphone killer application, it still transforms my tired old o2 into a new device.
it has some very cool features. gone are the days of the stylus - you dont need it.
however in saying that there are still a few bugs to sort out. but honestly people, i would recommend everyone trying it out.

I have Taxist´s ROM 2.03 TX installed on my Magician. I downloaded Home Point UI, couldn´t install it from PC, put it in the Storage of my machine, but it doesn´t work! What is my mistake? Or have i to load another program (without "Home" in the title=? And if, where do i find a download link? Many questions at one time, i know, but Please help me!!! Thank you !

Works fine with my WWE 2.03 TX ROM. Only some texts like the date are crapped because they are displayed in russian language by the pda.
Edit: Solved by editing the regional settings!

You have to copy the folder to your pda device. The application can be started there.

Theres a new version available, 1.51. But I think it´s only for wm 5/6
It seems they're changing their web pages. Looks like more aiming on commercial products. After all I hope they will continue developing the Home application for free and WIN2003 PPC compatible.

Update Manager removed from install. Normal application uninstall should now work.
I installed the .cab file for TD2 Tools for Win 6.5 v2, and got the following message: This application requires a newer version of the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework than the version installed on this device.
Now What?

I did a freaking search of "TD2 tools" and got pages of crap (and by the way, if you go to that thread and do a thread search for .net, you will get NO MATCHES. I am trying to find if someone with the TOPAZ (PURE) has had the same issue. So next time, I will type in that I did a search and did not find the answer..did you get your senior member by giving those type of responses, or by actually doing enough posting to help people?

Had the same problem. Also couldn't find any reference re .Net 3.5 installation searching the sticky thread.
Successfully installed it from http://bit.ly/kA4l3 via ActiveSync.
Learn to search td2+tools+net+error
There's a cf3.5-prob with some new roms... No solution found yet. Use Advanced Config or something else.

Also that is not working for some roms... Allready tried that for someone, even I don't help people...
I wanted to take a first stab at doing some basic mods to a ROM and signing it as a zip for myself both to learn how to make a rom and to get the rom just the way I like it.
I wanted to take the IC3ROM v2.5 and make some minor changes for personal use. I removed/added some apps and then signed the zip correctly. One of the changes I wanted to make was to remove the DConfig app. I tried to install it onto my Hero, but got some error about "Unverified" and "DConfig app missing".
Is there some file I need to edit to tell it which apps are included/excluded in the ROM?

FYI, I've already read the faqs and searched about 10 times. Seems like the forum here has become too assuming that no one is searching. I do searches before I post a new thread, which I don't do a lot.
