Ok so i know that there have been a few posts on the subject of timescape but i couldnt find any info on this in particular. my question is whether or not when in timescape and you open an event someone posted from facebook and then try and comment on it, instead of directing you to facebook through the facebook app it directs you through your browser. is there anyway to change this so you are taken to your facebook app?

sorry the title should say timescape. not mediascape.

I'm not sure of an answer to this, but I haven't found a way yet.
By "event" do you mean status update? Or are you getting other events on Timescape too? This is a question I have asked on another forum but got no answers.
The answer is short... "no".. you can't.. at least not in this version.
Yes I did mean an update I guess. Timescape syncs and puts up the newest "updates" from people associated with your facebook account. Anyway that is annoying. Im also p'd with Timescape not syncing gmail emails. What exactly is up with that??? I set up my gmail account on my "Email" app just so that it would show up on timescape and of course now whenever I get an email I have to delet it twice, once in gmail and once in email. I hope they get this sorted out with the update. Im going to fire off an email to SE about it. Hopefully others have too. Haven't played with mediacape much but from what im reading ill be drafting another email to SE for that too. But other than that I have to say that despite my initial concerns about the phone I am quite happy with it.
Cheers
My Twitter died on Timescape after Oauth change... anybody else with the same problem?
Over the coming weeks, we will be making two important updates that will impact how you interact with Twitter applications. We are sending this notice to all Twitter users to make sure you are aware of these changes.
What are applications?
There are over 250,000 applications built using the Twitter API. To use most applications, you first authorize the application to access your Twitter account, after which you can use it to read and post Tweets, discover new users and more. Applications come in many varieties, including desktop applications like TweetDeck, Seesmic, or EchoFon, websites such as TweetMeme, fflick, or Topsy, or mobile applications such as Twitter for iPhone, Twitter for Blackberry, or Foursquare.
Update 1: New authorization rules for applications
Starting August 31, all applications will be required to use “OAuth” to access your Twitter account.
What's OAuth?
OAuth is a technology that enables applications to access Twitter on your behalf with your approval without asking you directly for your password.
Desktop and mobile applications may still ask for your password once, but after that request, they are required to use OAuth in order to access your timeline or allow you to tweet.
What does this mean for me?
Applications are no longer allowed to store your password.
If you change your password, the applications will continue to work.
Some applications you have been using may require you to reauthorize them or may stop functioning at the time of this change.
All applications you have authorized will be listed at http://twitter.com/settings/connections.
You can revoke access to any application at any time from the list.

Wait for update from se. It will take some time.

I bet SE has already taken care of this in recent updates which they have been releasing but your carrier has not. They should have one updates for all the regions.
SE: lets make things complicated.
Recently I changed my username and password on Twitter and my TimeScape can't login to Twitter anymore. It keeps giving the message invalid username/password which is not right. The Twitter app I downloaded works fine with my new information.
I tried logging from TimeScape both with username and email id and get the same problem. Any help?
How well does timescape work for you guys?
I only ask because it has never done a single thing for me, and I have tried to get it to do something many times.

It doesn't automatically update for me, even though I had it set to fetch every hour, so stopped using it.
Hey guys
I posted this thread already in Android general forum but till now no one answered!
I hope my colleagues in HD2 will help as always
Sorry but i can't get to know how to play this game?!?
I downloaded it and it says that i must have a storm8 account to sign in but i don't have and i don't know how to create one!
On the website storm8 and when trying to sign up, it says that creating an account shall be done from the application; but on my phone it can't be done in the application!! I tried all buttons! Nothing...
I am stuck at the intro screen where it demands the sign in!
How to create an account?! Should i have an iphone?!
I'm on android 2.2
Please guys some help here pls

Even if you would have an account you'd not be able to login. Storm8 games don't work on these roms. This thing was already asked.

I, Myself Can't, Answer That
But There's Already A Facebook Chat App Available!
I'm Thinking You Could Maybe Download It, And extract The Files
To See The Format They Used!
Just A Suggestion??

Welcome to Android and XDA. :good: Don't forget to glance over the forum rules and always check out the stickies posted in each forum section (they have a thumbtack image next to them and never move from the top section). They contain valuable info for newcomers.
Both your questions are really all about personal preference. No single app's importance is the same to everyone. My advice to you being new to Android and all is to go into Google Play Store and just browse the list of top paid and free apps. This will give you a good idea of what a majority of users are downloading and using the most. Likely there will be numerous apps in there you will find beneficial. Remember one thing though, rooted users have more app options than non-rooted so just keep that in mind. Some apps require root access and will state that in the description. Once you use your device a bit more you will get a feel for what type of tasks you do most often and what apps might make the experience better.
As for contacts, there are different options for this. I would say since most have a Gmail account to access the Play Store, get email, etc. they will use Gmail to auto backup/restore contacts, calendar, tasks between the cloud and the device. I believe Samsung also will back this up for you which, if you have a Samsung account, is native on the S4 already. To give more direction would have to know what you are using on your PC for mail client, how you are using it, etc.
Favorite app is drop box
For backing up I do this. Open contacts> hit menu> hit import/export> then pick any of the export functions.
When restoring for the last step just use the corresponding import function.
