Timescape and Facebook

Hey people
I was wondering if any of you have set up timescape to use your facebook accounts?
I have mine set up but it only pulls down friend's statuses. Is this what everyone else's does too or do you get other notifications as well (such as "Blah Blah has added you as a friend" messages)?

Nah it only informs you of status updates and anyone who sends you a message (not a wall post). Thats all it does.

I got a notifcation when someone added me as a friend too - but i think that was probably the facebook app rather than timescape. You certainly dont get all of the facebook notifications though (eg. someone commenting on a thread that you liked).

hmm I don't get tiles when someone sends me a message on Facebook either though :-\
I wonder if it will be possible to put custom feeds into Timescape soon, then you could just pass it the notifications/news feeds

facebook pics intergrated to contacts gone after removing timescape!!!!
hi there.... juz though to post it on this thread instead of creating a new one...... i lost all my facebook pics which was integrated to my contact from removing the timescape usinf titanium... i would like to knw if any1 has got this problem... or hav i done something wrong???

Personally I find timescape rather useless and wiped it from my phone....I honestly feel it does more harm than good....just slows your phone down.
Anyways, just my thought on timescape

I too hav the same thought... But i wanna know will it remove the facebook pics I hav got in my contact if I remove timescape.

i get the pics and fb status when syncing them
but also using facebook sync app
no high res pics tho

As far as I can tell, the timesape pictures all disappear, and eventually the lower res ones appear from the Facebook app. It's been a couple of weeks though and many of my contacts are still blank... I could re set them if I wanted but it would take AGES lol.

Good luck; it won't reinstall from titanium, and navigating to the apk and clicking doesn't seem to work either. I'm sure there IS a way, but so far I haven't been bothered to find out.
I'd reinstall if I could be told an easy way, tbh I have not noticed any improvement in performance from removing it and the downside is that I can't update status to Twitter and Facebook at once, which although I didn't do it very often, it is a con to no discernible pro.

Anybody got problem "Facebook cannot login" with Timescape lately?
I think there are possibility that facebook change their login method or auth, that could make Timescape not working. And we just have to wait until SE release update for Timescape.
My last facebook sync is 2 days ago, and now whenever i update, it says "Could not login"

timescape is suck. i freeze all timescape service using titanium backup donate. timescape made contacts picture stretch. its ugly. i just enable facebook & gmail in my phonebook.

i kinda like the 3d flow but other thant that i dont use it.....you could say it's useless

timescape just crapped on me

so i was looking at timescape and my twitter updates didn't have a picture, just a blank head exactly like the ones from my contacts.
i thought there was just a small issue. so i delete my twitter account and now i can not sync with my twitter account. this is very weird. i have 2 twitter accounts but my main account (the one i had been using with timescape) does not sync anymore, timescape doesn't even let me set up the account! however, it lets me set up my other twitter account fine.
anyone else got this issue?
i get an "Authentication failed... Connection failed error screen"

This just happened to me now where none if the pictures are loading, and when I click on an article nothing happens. It's beginning to annoy me.

i'm thinking it's twitter's fault but then again why would 1 account work and not the other? doesn't make sense.

lol status.twitter.com just stated that they are having issues. LOL i guess i'm too paranoid with this phone.

can't see them yet either

well I still can't login with Twitter. every time I setup Twitter I still get the same error message.

I'm glad its not just me.
I've been trying for about 20 minutes last night. Even reset my password and tried again. Get into Seesmic OK so I've left it a while...
Still no luck yet though

I can't see twitter pics either.
We can exclude the phone bugs now ... pretty much the problem is on twitter side.

so it still available issue. I even formatted thy phone and even repaired it with update service. timescape will not allow me to login. I just hope Twitter didn't change anything and screwed up timescape.

Twitter pictures are back in Timescape.

maybe Twitter is forcing us to use their official app? its been like 24 hrs and I still can't login and still with same error messages

How about facebook, mine cannot update anything...I already reset the phone to factory setting, nothing happen..give me a headache...

It works for me.

timescape should be fine with twitter. but then again, it's only now working for me.

Facebook Sync

Ok, so i added a new friend to facebook but my phone would not update to allow me to link the contact. So i removed my fb account from my phone trying to force a sync when i readded it but to no avail. So does anyone know of a way to force a sync shy of a fa tory reload?

Sorry to bump an old topic but I would like to know this too, because ive added people on facebook that I already had in my phone, but the phone doesnt seem to know they are on facebook. there doesnt seem to be any easy way to just "hit sync" and have it refresh the facebook contacts.

I would love to hear of a solution to.this too because my facebook just creates a new contact rather than link the contacts i already have.

Facebook always creates new contacts for your fb friends. It then links them automatically with google contacts if they have the same name. Are you saying it doesn't auto-link?

I am trying to sync contacts but nothing shows up?? No friends or info I need help!!

If you are trying to get your facebook friends to show up in your contacts, go to contacts and hit menu view and make sure that facebook is checked.

Posting this in multiple threads to see if you get an answer will just get you flamed. Just an FYI.

facebook sync is working again as of 12:30 est

I am still getting the "service currently unavailable" message. maybe it is better to just sleep on it and try tomorrow.

It syncs my pic but no others doesn't even display any contacts to chose from...

Have to say, I removed my Facebook account from sync and tried adding it back. I can log in, but all my friends no longer show up and sync properly. So something still must be going on with Facebook.

Hopefully an update that will give us notification when a message is sent Something so simple and yet they can't implement it. How about facebook chat while we are at it. I heard rumors that Froyo should allow for push notification like it does with IPHONE. The IPHONE app is a more polished APP. Why can't they replicate that one for Android?
I am not a big facebook fan but I have friends( Yes I pay them monthly ) that likes to chat on it.

I never could get the facebook app that came with my phone to work, I ended up trying to delete it and downloading the android app from facebook.com. Works great so far except I can't (or don't know how to) accept friend requests with it.

It's not the Facebook app that isn't working. It's the Facebook for Sense that doesn't work. I've tried the suggestions above already.

This didnt work for me but there is an app called syncmypix in the market that works excellent.......

for all having issues syncing facebook contacts go to the market and download syncmypix and it does the job....

I don't think you guys seem to understand the problem. This isn't just sync'ing pics. If you wiped your Evo (or any mobile device) and try to load your friends from facebook, they won't sync.

Try it. Delete your facebook app and links, re-add them and try to sync again.
... Just installed Syncmypix and all it does is add photos. Nothing more. I don't know about others but this does not "do the job" of syncing facebook contacts. Just the pic.

Yes, this just started and you can search other web sites, many people are now reporting it. It's a problem on the server side at face book, they've changed something.

That is what I figured when I tried to view my "facebook phonebook" in my people directory.
First it said that I didn't have any friends, so I decided to do a refresh. During the refresh, I noticed that it just hanged (with the little circle spinning in the top-right corner). Then it exited out of the program saying "unable to connect"

ok i thought it was just me but hopefully they get this fixed cause i like being able to link my contacts

[Q] Facebook app sync

Hi everyone! I have a Milestone 2 and recently I became tired of motoblur social apps, so I downloaded the twitter and facebook original apps. The problem is that facebook app doesn't sync my contacts based on my friends. If I go Menu>Accounts and try to add the facebook account from the facebook app (not the fb icon from Motoblur), nothing happens (I just keep cliking the icon and nothing happens). If I go on facebook app Menu>Config>Other settings, it's empty, and there should be the sync options... Does anyone know an idea to fix it?
Another problem is my contact linking names, and I believe you are aware of this. If I link, for example "Gabriel Avignon" with "gdeavignon", the contact name will be shown "gdeavignon", which is ridiculous. Is there a way to fix that, like replacing the contacts app (BlurContacts.apk)? If there is, where can I find a right pack for that?

I know all about the drama... As far as I know there's no fix.
The Facebook app syncs only on specific devices with the Facebook app preinstalled afaik (Milestone 1 is one of them).
The contact list bug annoyed the hell out of me ass well. For now I'm not using blur anymore but seesmic. Love it so far.
You might want to try to bug Motorola with it...

No seesmic can't do that. Sux indeed. You might want try to get a hold on a OG Milestone Facebook.apk. You might be able to sync contacts and the functionality remains after upgrading.

Just remove motoblur app from facebook app list, also remove facebook from motoblur account and then try to add the facebook again. It's work for me after facebook update last night.
