Touch pro2 windows media player video playback problem :( - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

whenever i try to play any video on my touchpro2 it gives me an error
"The source filter for this for file couldn't be loaded."
can anybody help me out please ?

no reply yet ?

I think we need more info. What ROM are you using? The title already states WMP so that helps. What format is the file, i.e. mp4, asx, avi? You may want to try a different player. I have had success with the Nitrogen player or the TCPMP by CORE.
And of course do a search. You can use my sig for an easy search or just google "The source filter for this for file couldn't be loaded".

actually i am using official t-mobile 6.5 windows. it was working fine but suddenly i don't know why it stopped working. i had to install windows again to get over this problem.
now the problem is solved thanx for reply

It's probably a case of your DirectShow filters getting bonked. If it shows up again, take a look at THIS thread...the fix in the last post might save you the trouble of having to reflash again.
P.S. you don't happen to go to Embry-Riddle, do you?

Ahhh yes ok....I do have a few DBCC anecdotes and memories floating around. I seem to remember the main campus being just around the corner from ERAU, like right up Clyde Morris, then E a block or so on 98? (92..? whatever lol).
I fly for fun, but no, not a commercial pilot....I was actually going for avionics engineering (flight control systems), but had to leave when my Navy scholarship was rescinded due to medical reasons that came up (bad lung). So now instead I just like to run around the yard in figure 8's, with my arms stretched out, making jet noises
For a living, I talk to people. Professionally lol. And take pictures sometimes.

There's actually a number of other degree programs there than that....flying and aeronautical engineering are the same thing. I was in avionics engineering, and there's also other things like APP (Airframe + Power Plant), aviation meterology, even aviation psychology, and more

Found an open wireless network - how can i browse the HDD?

I have found a couple of open wireless networks. I was wondering how i can access the HDD's of PC's on the network?
i doubt anyone will reply to you mate..
Errrm, you'll need a network browser (like resco file explorer which can do it) and access to the PC's hard drive to be allowed by the computer in question.
Thankfully, access is not granted by default.
Good luck with your 1337 haX0ring.... {/sarcasm}

Not a good idea to be asking this here. Unless those PC's are yours, I'd advise you to ask you question somewhere else.

Just because you can does not mean you should.
Didn't your parents teach you right from wrong? Not that I'm an angel, but there are some things you just should not do, especially when your behavior creates victims.
If you do, be sure to tell us how the smell is up there, while your sniffing your way around their backsides.....
Don't bother trying to debate this. You'd be wrong to do it and that's a fact.
dangerous_dom: getting access to a network doesn't necessarily give you access to anything else other then the network.
You might want to run a port scanner to find open ports, target vulnerable ports and reverse map open network shares.
However, any sensible PC user should shut down unnecessary open ports, disable public shares and use a good firewall. Find out how to get around these issues and you'll be getting somewhere.
An open wifi network is much like a wired LAN. Just find out how to penetrate a LAN and access shares in the normal manner and then apply your techniques over wifi.
Beware though, it's likely to be highly illegal, easily monitored, and morally reprehensible. But then, we wouldn't be hackers if we hadn't found a way to deal with these questions, eh?

Before you get all high and mighty, jump down from that horse a minute. Who said i was planning anything nasty? Far from it, actually i planned to leave a 'note' (.txt) on thier desktop telling them that there network is unsecure and that they need to protect it. There are kids around here that would do damage.
They are my neighbours, but i dont know which ones and there are too many doors to go knocking on. I would hardly **** on my neighbours.
Did your parents never teach you that people were innocent until proven guilty? (oh yeah, your american - the US threw that rule out of the window a few years back now )
But yes, it a fair point that this should not be discust on public forums. If anyone has a way i cant leave some kind of not for them, please PM me.
The Windows Messenging Service might be open - if they've got open Wifi connections, it's likely they've got open services, so you can probably just demi-spam them with a warning message.

That's really not any of your business is it? If they are smart enough to have a computer, they should be smart enough to lock it down. Bottom line is that if you hack their computer, it's unethical and perhaps illegal no matter what kind of message you leave, and you leave yourself open to suspicion as well. I'm American and I take offense to your other comment because not all of us think alike, and some if not most of us are a bit smarter and less judgmental than you'd like to acknowledge.
I really agree with the above comment. that was really offensive. people need to realize that all americans aren't alike. we're all from different parts of the world. so please don't say stuff like that because I consider it racism. and about browsing your neighbor's hdd, I think its best if you just leave it alone. it isn't any of your business. they can learn from their own mistakes.
I should advise you that there has already been a succesful court action against someone that used a neigbours wi-fi connection without authorization. It is not up to the person with the wi-fi to keep others out. It is simply illegal to connect to someone elses broadband connection. The fine was very heavy and has now set a precedent in law.

Dom, if you're going to dump on us Americans get it right. You need to capitolize the "A" and since you were trying to say "You Are" it is spelled "You're" as "Your" would refer to his ownership of what ever you would be calling "american".
Damn, takes a Yank to teach a Bloke proper English!!!
PUN AND HUMOR INTENDED
I did not mean to seriously offend anyone, sorry if i have. It was just a bit of teasing really. I was really responding to the arrogance of the poster i quoted.
I have some good American mates who live here now and i know that many Americans are not scary Bush-following freaks as the media often portrays.
Thanks for the English tips too, i just get a bit lazy of the forums. But to be honest, you yanks have murdered the English language anyway!
I wasn't judging you to be guilty of anything you did, you hadn't done anything. I was judging your own stated intent. And I stand by it. You'd be wrong to do so. Arrogance? If that's arrogant so be it though I don't see where my belief in thinking that you'd be wrong to go traipsing through your neighbor's garden for the sake of telling them their carrots are ready to be picked even approaches arrogance. Though I think your supposed good intentions smack of arrogance.
Think about how you might feel if you came home and found a note on your kitchen table telling you that you had left your back door unlocked, left there by a stranger. Would you feel violated? Creepy? Or thankful? Common sense Bloke.
I'm proud to be an American, so you'd be wasting your time to even go there. Besides it has nothing to do with what I'm trying to impart.
And I did say I was not an angel, nor do I ride horses.

Actually we do all ride horses, but some of us only do so on two occasions. One of those is when we're heading out to rescue the fair princess from the bad guy, The other is when we're riding off into the sunset, as the cowboy always seems to do.
Now picture me tipping my hat to you....and riding my horse off into the sunset. Heeeeya
Well, see what ya miss when ya dont come on this forum for a day.....
Yeah, its illegal to use a WiFI network that isnt yours, whether that be to use its associated ADSL connection or any other resource it links to (PCs and printers included).....but its also a case of one of them things that you wanna do to others, but dont wanna have done to yaself
Anyway, chances are although you may get access to their network shares, the user directory that stores the desktop directory is normally protected by a password anyway - unless they really are dumb and created usernames without passwords...and installed a broadband connection without a firewall and setup a wireless network right out of the box........in which case, you leaving them a note on their desktop will be the last of the things they will be able to see behind all the popups, viruses, etc  Maybe you should turn to offering your services to set their PC up correctly
PS: Isnt it the English that rode off to rescue fair princesses The Yanks dont have fair princesses
You are correct Dom, there are some good (great) Americans...like the ones that saved your entire continent from speaking German about 65 years ago. You're welcome.

Well I had a dash and I kinda miss it. I could stream video from anywhere on skyfire so I could watch anime and shows. I could watch ANY video file on TCPMP, and had Mobile Office etc etc etc. Since there are a million WM phones the programs that were availible were enormous but Android is pickin up steam and many companies are plannin on using the OS which means more and more apps
Best thing you can do is go the link already posted and get some info

I'm, surprised he came from the dash and not the sidekick - if you ever want to fear for the future of our species, check out the danger forums. If you can find three posts on it that have complete sentences and/or all words spelled properly, you've count at least one of them twice. It's ridiculous.
Since I am not smart enough to make fun of his grammar, I'd like to address his problem. OP needs to realize that WM has been out for years (and hasn't changed much in that time, I've had an ipaq 1945, MDA, Dash, Tilt). G1 just got paid apps when, 6 months ago? When Android is around for a few more years, then no matter what you are looking for, there will be "an app for that".
I have also had a Dash in the past. It was a rock solid phone and I loved it. Give the Android OS more time to develop. WM has been around for many years.

2 things...first, you misspelled ****** (lol). Second, I moved over to the g1 after having a Dash. I loved my dash, took it on deployment with me, had it for almost 2 years, but after using the g1 I can safely say that I am not going back. Learning the G1 took next to no time, but just going back to the Dash for a little bit (my wife uses it now) it seems like there is a learning curve (and it was my primary phone for 2 years). I know the thoughts going through your head and the questions. I've been there. Ultimately the only thing that I can say is try it. That is exactly why there is the 2 week return policy. Play with the G1 and if you don't like it return it, get your money back and go back to your dash while you wait for the Dash 3G to come out.

Actually, there are a large number of mistakes in your "sentence." First, as pointed out, you spelled "******" wrong. Second, when referring to yourself, "I" is capitalized. The method in which you used "it's" would require the apostrophe. Third, "alot" isn't even a word. It is actually two words "a lot." I won't even begin to go into the grammatical errors in the use of "it's just I text a lot" as I don't think you would be capable of understanding that.
I'm not trying to be a jackass, but when someone resorts to name calling and rude comments because they cannot take a joke, it seems warranted to put the person in their place. What Luca_Dream posted was funny. Why can't you just accept it and say, in net-speak, "LOLZ, you're right. I'm just so used to texting!" In that way you would have shown maturity and good humor without getting the "smack-down" from the community.

Grow up and take your ignorant self back to the Danger forum. I used a Dash for two years and and used a Sidekick for a year and a half. Between texting friends, bright kite and twitter I rack up about 4000 text messages a month - so yes.. it is possible to "text alot" and still manage to put together a sentence with complete words, punctuation and at least 3rd grade level grammar.
At least PRETEND that you respect yourself and maybe others will return the sentiment.
Plus, I don't suck ass. I'll lick it every now and then though.
Just got pointed here as the post some were above was reported,

I have mixed views on this, on one hand as a parent I think this is a great tool to keep kids from preditors because as these phones get more and more fetures they become more and more like computers, there is software form comps that do this so it only makes sense that it would come to the smart phone world.
on the other hand I think that as a parent you need to raise your children correctly to avoid needing this and as an employer if I cant trust my employees then why are they working for me? so I do see the need but it is still kinda sad that it is needed.
Yeah, I see the use, but I still think that is it a breach of privacy. My parents never used blocking software on the PC, or looked over my shoulder. Sure, I saw some things on the internet that I prolly should not have, but I am no worse for the wear. I guess parents have the right to do it, but I think for business it is kinda sketch..but you work for them. Then again, Calls and e-mails, sure, but pictures and the like I think is to invasive.

Why not just go all the way and get a live satellite feed on your kid while your at it. He will grow up with no experience in Anything. While all of his friends with have 100x more common sense and understanding of thing because they discovered things for themselves.
I would say there is a limit to parenting, you have to let the kid figure things out on his own, do things wrong on his own. Sucks if you cant put them in the right direction.

I agree with you to a point and I really dont want to turn this into a parenting thread BUT I used to think the same way "you know let the kid experince life and learn from thier mistakes" thats what we did" but at then I became a parent and I relized just how much the world has changed. it used to be that you could let your kid go outside and ride their bikes and not have to worry becuase everyone in the community watched out for eachother, now I have to worry about pervs that might try to take my daughter and I can honestly say with one exception that i dont think my neighbors would do anything. then you have the pervs on the net and every celebrity basically saying that its ok to be permiscuious. as the father of a girl, yes i want to know where she is and if shes ok and yes if shes sending out inapropriate photos.
as for the work stuff. if the company provides you with a phone on thier dime then they have the right to know what you are using it for.

my point precisly but at the same time I see the use for it becuase I worry about the other people out there.
i understand not trusting other, not so much the kid. But this software, text, email, contacts, calls the whole 9 yards. I can understand gps. You know where they are, and if you dont hear from them, you can just check.
Also if the kid were to ever get in trouble (assuming the kids 13+ and not an idiot maybe younger if you got a smart one) he/she would catch on that his/her phones being monitored. Who wouldnt ditch the phone and use another way of communication. Or better, leave the phone at home and then sneak out. $100 for the year down the drain

This is 100% true. A few of my friends have parents that ALWAYS want to know where they are, what they're doing, and want them to call like every hour. Let me just say, I'm so thankful my parents don't do that to me. Mind you, it's not a bad thing to be checked in on every once in awhile (my parents did that), but that's just ridiculous. My common sense level compared to theirs, as well as my level of maturity, is just so much higher. I end up learning things either myself or the hard way, but I appreciate that. Now whenever I'm confronted with a task, I'm able to think for myself, and I have the confidence to know I can do things on my own. Sorry that got off-topic, but I believe there is a point where parents need to settle down and trust their kids. I've earned my parents trust, and am able to a lot more without restrictions because of it.
my parents never trusted me, and now im homeless. true story brah.

I am on the fence about this one. I read the article and immediately thought this would be perfect for my daughter.
However, it is a tough call. Realistically, the only thing this type of technology is guaranteed to do is cause a level of resentment and disstrust towards the parent.
The ultimate question...Is it worth it? If this prevents a crime towards the child then I think it is, but for day-to-day child raising I think it may cause more damage than good. It is awfully difficult to teach values to a child if they think you are spying on (and thus don't trust) them.

You are a sick individual. I guess you're getting your kids ready for the world of lost privacy. Maybe this will be a good trait to practice with your children even though the invasion of privacy, especially from someone they trust, is sure to be a great topic at their adult counseling sessions. I suppose you're some type of religious person who uses punishment and guilt in training your child as opposed to education and positive reinforcement. But... how can I blame you, your parents probably did it to you, and their parents to them and so on. Still though, who will break the cycle? Think about if your parents, not only had access to, but actually analyzed every single conversation or thought you ever had. It's so disturbing. This is a form of child abuse and at the minimum the child should completely understand that they have no privacy. Just disgusting.
If you're guessing, yes I've raised a perfect moral, social, trustworthy and intelligent 5 year old boy.

But... how can I blame you, your parents probably did it to you, and their parents to them and so on. Still though, who will break the cycle? Think about if your parents, not only had access to, but actually analyzed every single conversation or thought you ever had. It's so disturbing. This is a form of child abuse and at the minimum the child should completely understand that they have no privacy. Just disgusting.
If you're guessing, yes I've raised a perfect moral, social, trustworthy and intelligent 5 year old boy.

ok first i think that if people like you are going to start judging the way that others are raising thier children then this thread needs to be closed and you need to seriously take a look at yourself before you do anything else you can raise your children the way you like but dont judge others (unless there is actual abuse going on) second you have a 5 year old wait 7 or 8 years and then you might change your mind teens are a completely different ball game.
and on that note my final thought to you and then I am leaving this thread alone is that I see parents like you all day long I even have a friend that raises her kids with the same line of thinking and im not saying that you are wrong but most of the time they are spoiled brats that have no respect for any adult other than thier partents. Also everytime you see a parent on the news after their kids been taken by some perv you hear the same thing "we had no idea he/she was doing anything like that" oversight is your job as a parent if somethign happens to your child it is no ones failure but your own.

Am I the only one that uses the evo for wardriving?

I was just curious if anyone else out there enjoyed that kinda senseless "hobby".
I was so upset yesterday when my 16gb card died and I lost about 7000 files total, including some memorable pics and videos that can't be replaced. Just about every apk that demonoid had, my beginning database of wardriving spots (prolly around 4000 in less than a week), videos and pics from my vacation, and two "cool" videos. One was me filming outside my work one day when it was pouring rain and a lightning bolt hit less than a block away. Scared the **** outta me, heh! The other was me sitting in traffic and someone was driving the batmobile from the 60's and paused by me and I got it on video. :'(
Needless to say, I've started all over again with my driving database. Maybe I will get lucky again and be able to get back into some of the gated communities to map them. Btw, I am a delivery driver, so I am driving all around day and night.
Some people have some funny access point network names! A couple I remember were one named "slut" and another called "big black d_ck" (fill in the blank). Lmao. And the word wasn't the aflac bird either!
Anyone share this "interest" and have any tales to tell while out driving of anything unusual or funny?
i havnt done that in years, but my phones wifi tether is called "sexpot"

I used to do that with my laptop. One time this guy caught me and called me an ass for trying to access his network when I was outside his house. Then he went on to tell me that I couldn't access his network anyway because he had WEP encryption. The next day I went back cracked his WEP key in about 20 minutes and gained access to his network. Amazing how much porn the guy had including the illegal kind. I changed his wallpaper to a custom one that I had that said he'd been hacked. After that it just kind of got old. More people jumping from 64 bit WEP to 128 bit.

I would like to know this as well.
I am using "wardrive" from the market. I don't know if it's the best but it's pretty god and hasn't given me any problems. It will kill a battery pretty quick with the gps and wifi and 3g all running at the same time. I found a higher amp (1A) cigarette lighter usb thingy at bb and I just plug my sync cable into that and it's enough juice to keep the phone from pulling from it's battery and even charge it (slowly).
Keep the phone out of the direct sunlight while running the program and charging because the phone can overheat easily. The wifi ears on the phone are kinda deaf but sometimes that can be preferred. You'll have to practically be on top or very close to the signalfor the app to catch it. I think that way might be closer to where the ap actually is if the receiver is deaf.
I made an account over at wigle (google it) so I can upload the database to there and help build their map.
No, I don't try to get into other people's networks, I just map their locations. Hell, it gives me something different to do while driving besides listening to music.

I use wardrive and it works perfect. LOL to the 64 to 128 change, I work in infosec and had to share that with a slew of my coworkers. Thanks.

It's driving around neighborhoods looking for OAP (open access points) in peoples network. You would be surprised how many people go out and buy a router and bring it home and just plug the thing in without ever configuring it for security.

You will notice a small difference in speed if using 128 bit wep. Because of the higher encryption it is more data to send and receive, therefor lower speed in browsing, downloading, etc., etc. Not enough to cause a ruccus over though.
I do this occasionally.
The Supersonic increases the fun factor significantly.
Has anybody determined the range of the wifi yet. I know it doesn't do so good through two or three rooms away from the AP. What about open airway? Anybody know?
WarDriving can be dangerous to a device tho I had a friend who tried to connect to a bank once and it did something that killed his laptop running windows instantly it made it reboot and he actually had to reload windows to this day I dont know wtf it was and I have been in IT for 15 yrs still his fault for doing it but never thought that possible!
i love wardrivers.
So does my honeypot!

Banks use custom hardware and software based firewalls. They are developed by companies that design firewalls. We're talking 1,024 bit encryption. I'm a network analyst and can almost guess that they had a honeypot set up on there trunk. Designed to invite the casual hacker to snoop and at the same time gather all his information, then report him to the proper authorities. Even throw a DDOS attack back at him. As far as killing his OS. They probably had a virus set to exploit any hacker that tried to breach there network.

It's a PITA sometimes. I don't have any actual figures personally. I just know that it can get headache-y. It may be possible to add an external antenna for giggles...

My friend came over with his new iPod Touch a few minutes ago and it can access my AP from three room away with no problem and my EVO has trouble at that distance. Apple sure does make some solid equipment. I'm a little disappointed.

Is Android GPS trying to get me killed

It always takes me through the worst most dangerous side streets and neighborhoods in Detroit. Then when I get to my destination it's like 1 block away from the freeway. It's very important to stay on the freeway as long as possible when traveling in Detroit. Android GPS insists on taking me through crack dealer and prostitute hangouts. These may be more direct but the freeway is faster and safer. Google needs to do something about this before they get someone killed.

It fings the shortest route based on either distance or time!!!
2.15 radio
2.2miui stock via cwm
You could always create Via points and place them on the freeways, I know it's extra work but at least you know you know which way your going.
lol...this reminds me of the girl who tried to sue google because her nav wanted her to walk on the freeway...
...come on ppl, you have to excercise better judgment on your behalf. if you would have taken a safer route, it would have recalculated for you...if you got shot in the ghetto because you were following what a computer told you to do...I dont think anybody would feel sorry for you.
Cheers

This is the most priceless comment I have ever seen on XDA! ROFL!
if I'm not mistaken it says that you are not to use google nav for driving and you use the app at your own risk...... well it use to have a popup that said that.
Every time I try to go to Europe google tries to have me killed. It keeps me on the freeway for a while, then all of a sudden I'M IN THE OCEAN AND I CAN'T SWIM. AHHHHHHHHHH.
LMFAO lol google is gonna tell you sorry we don't take crack infested neighborhoods into consideration lol.
And technically google drove through those neighborhoods lol for street view on google maps so...Probably with a police escort lol

OMG detroit is not even that BAD. Now I'll admit some places don't look too hott but its nto even that bad lol..ppl blow stuff out of proportion. Now I also will admit if it takes you to certain areas on the eastside by e. warren or westside by joy then you do have to be a lil concern. Otherwise, everything else is ok.

Street view photos would look good with a police escort.
I so wish Garmin would release an Android app already for just these reasons.
Only settings available with Google are to AVOID highways which I don't know why you would ever want to do unless you were texting while driving! lol
i was going to propose an app, that was community based, where users plot areas that are sketchy, then this is overlayed google maps and the navigation steered you around those areas.
