Hello
For the first time here, I´ve sold my HTC-touch and are asking your opinion what model will be my next phone?
I´m sure it will be a win-phone again, but what model?
HTC Diamond
HTC Pro
SonyEricsson X1
diamond is cheap, pro is about £300,xperia is over £500 inebay
i have xperia fully unlocked/de branded,i'm willing to sell it for ?£450.
but they all the same, diamond is smaller without keyboard and built in 4gb as well.
still non can come close to iphones touch screen and user interface!!
unfortunately xy_kolla is right. WM is the best but touch screen interface is zero compared with Iphone. I suggest to buy WM with Keyboard.
ok guys and gals I hope all have had a good festive period!!
here’s my question, I have just been offered a free upgrade by orange uk to the htc touch hd, I currently have the htc diamond.
it has been my first WM phone and I must say I am true convert. I have been looking longley with envy at the htc touch hd and I am defo going to own one; but with it being so new to the market I was wondering if any else has done the upgrade and wished they had waited a bit longer for a more stable product.
as i'm not that experienced at putting on ROMs does the one shipped with the orange branded phone work well??
or should i wait untill orange bring a 2nd Rom like they did with the diamond and untill android is fully working on the phone??
thanks for any advice given!!
I think shipped Roms aren't good (enough) at all. I like the possibility to flash another rom, whenever I want to.
So I would not put any stress on the shipped rom, there are already so many great cooked roms out there, so that is really no problem.
Flashing a cooked rom isn't a problem, it takes 10 minutes, if you know what to do, else you will have to read through the wiki, but it is really managable.
so does any one have any views on if the upgrade from the touch diamond to the touch hd is it worth it right now, or is it better to hang fire for a while untill the android os and a good offical rom from orange is out??
I still have the standard htc rom on my HD, version 1.14 and it is stable as can be, I don't feel any need to flash it. All you need to do is make a few tweaks and I'm sure you'll be satisfied with it. My HD somehow feels a little bit faster than a diamond, eventhough they have the same hardware inside and might I say inspite of the higher resolutions screen.
Given the choice I would pick the HD over the diamond any day, the extra big screen is well worth the price premium you pay over a diamond

I too find 1.14 to be faster than most cooked ROMs. Perhaps 1.14 is faster than 1.19.

hello everyone!
i'm also offered an upgrade from my old nokia n95, but i'm a little hesitant as i already have an htc touch diamond on another contract with orange. will it be practical to own both the htc touch diamond and the touch hd? i was initially eyeing the samsung omnia but it will cost me over £100 on my current tariff, whereas they can give me the touch hd for free. i've been having this "dilemma" for like a month now and im still undecided. anyone who can give me their views, i'd be grateful.

I have seen on the internet that some of the HTC phones has Touch Flo 3D. Is it possible to get it to the Cruise?
I got a geniue"?" Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro as ROM installed.(Downloaded from HTC's official homeplage)

Hi Crisytaiser! Welcome to the Forum.
It can be done but it doesn't work especially well. This is due to the Cruise not coming with any 3d video drivers - although some smart members of this forum developed some, however they cause problems with the way the Cruise's backlight works.
If you're interested, take a look at this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=465507&highlight=tf3d
It's in the Kaiser forum, but is relevant to the Cruise as well.
I don't know whether the stock HTC ROM supports the 3d drivers (which can be found here: http://www.htcclassaction.org/driverprogress.php#update_20081009_1 ).
You can get it working and it does look pretty sweet, but it isn't reliable enough (IMHO) for everyday use.
You can get TF2D (called Manilla 2d) that works really well on the Cruise. Read about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398173
This works pretty much like TF3D but doesn't have much animation.
Before you do anything though, make sure you have a good read of the stuff in the wiki - it ain't that hard to turn your expensive device into a paperweight if you're not sure what you are doing! Good luck.
.
Thanks for the answer! I will check out you'r added links!

hey guys,
i am about to buy a second hand touch diamond. i was just curious about its recpetion quality on gsm network. kindly share your experiences. i had xperia before but didnt like the reception of that phone. how does xperia recpetion compared to diamond !!
also ... does 6.5 run fast on diamond or is it like xperia (very much sluggish)
as well.
kindly send me your opinions.
i ll be waiting.
Using Diamond since last 9 months and that too on GSM network. Never faced any problem about reception. You can go ahead with ur buying but kindly check the battery usage. As in new phone it doesnt last more than a day...dont know how old the diamond is ...the one u r going to buy second hand.
Regards,
Vishal
have used diamond in the past....mostly use HD nowadays....
but no problem with reception...only concern may be battery life...but it should be OK on GSM...I was on 3G...
