It's a javascript performance test and I'm very curious what the massive CPU in the HD2 can do. It ought to smash most phones good and proper.

Please state which browser you are using, and if you're running a custom ROM.
Thanks!
Can't get a complete run on my HD2 with IE, stops at maths-partial-sums on first pass.
Worked with Opera 10 Beta 2 on a stock 1.66 with NET 3.5 here.

Hi,
I've been using daran_clarke's TF3D Beta 3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448178) for a short while now and really like it. Thanks Daran!
However I've been toying with installing a new rom, something I've been putting off for a while now.
I'd like people's opinions on the benefits / difference's between the above TF3D and the ROM below which also looks awesome?
Smaberg's Touch X 10.1 ULTIMATE X-TREME "MrRusch BLUE EDITION" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493848)
Anyone tried both? This is my day to day phone so stability and performance matter most to me.
Many thanks in advance for views offered.
Richard
Hi Richard,
I recently updated my ROM to itje's TouchX edition and it's honestly fantastic. Not had a single problem bug wise with it yet and has massively increased my battery life compared to the UK Vodafone ROM.
Not sure if this helps you but just thought I'd give you some info!
The Diggler
Thanks, presumably you're more than happy with the speed then judging by your post?
I was thinking of going with either that or the Blue version above.
before flasing smaberg's touchx 10 rom (blue), i used the tf3db3 cab by daran clarke.
it works fine but having the rom installed is much much faster and stable. the finger gestures, scrolling and menus are smoother.
if u want speed and performance definitely go for the rom.
+1 for itje's Touch-IT Xperience 10.2
It's fast, smooth, nicely featured and most importantly works without special tweaks. I had one difference of opinion on Opera but installing the old version solved that problem. Battery life is MUCH better than older ROM versions and memory use has been optimised so RAM is freed up when you close apps.
hello i recently bought Touch Hd device and upgarded and changed almost 15+ WM6.1 and 6.5 roms. but none of them is good since the performance is too weak even my HTC Prophet device with wm6.5 and only 195MHZ CPU perform faster and smooter . I have also installed Neo Graphic Drivers 3 on my HD but no lock. performance of this 528MHZ device is really low and poor any one have suggestion?
Change telephone if you don't like this.!

I'm very very skeptical for that...
But of course, do you run TF3D on your prophet ? I would like to see it faster than on the touch HD. Can you please make a video ? I'd rather doubt it... of course if you compare the today screen on the prophet over the touch HD TF3D... it is possible, but TF3D adds services and possiblities too..
Honestly, i went from artemis... to diamond... and the touch HD, and the HD is the best of all ! Beetween the diamond and the artemis, i was less impressed .. but the diamond battery drain was awful ! But for rapidity the HD is great !
Have you tried to tweak a little your HD ?
Ciao
Fred
I've been playing with a few 6.5 roms recently. Moved back to 6.1 and decided to reinstall from scratch.... never has the device been so smooth.
Waiting for a complete rom before upgrading again.... would love tflo2.5 on the standard rom.
i have the same idea as u .... i´m starting to be very disappointed with my touch HD,
with these rom's is better, but graphically it is very soft spot.... and the gps very laggy .....
for a phone that cost almost € 600, is weak ...
You have to know that WM6.5 isn´t released yet and AFAIK i won´t be released oficially for Touch HD, so we cannot expect that it runs like on WM6.1.
Even with all tweaks the cookers try to implement into the Roms it will be difficult (or let´s say impossible) to release a "Perfect" Rom until the final Build is released. Almost every week a new Build is released.
So i think we all should wait until a final release of WM6.5 comes out and then we can see what cookers can do with it.
No one is obligated to use a WM6.5 Rom.
I recently upgraded from Touch Diamond to Touch HD. And I am impressed... the fluidity of TF3D 2.1, programs opening and closing etc really blew me away. There was no way my TD could match the HD.
Are you loading too many programs into your system memory? For me, ALL programs are loaded into Storage Card, and I only use 33% of memory (according to Task Manager)... maybe this would make a difference?
It is increasingly frustrating.
Can't wait to get a Leo with a decent processor.

I had similar thoughts and almost sold my HD until I tried Panosha's rom. I tried many roms and this one to me is the most stable and relatively quick. I also have a Touch Diamond 2 and that device blows away any other in terms of speed and responsiveness. But I love the HD too and this Rom saved it from going up for sale. Maybe worth a try if you haven't yet.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=495233&highlight=panosha
y dont u go look at the rom benchmark
well i would like to share my 30+ days achivments on trying almost all HD roms.
as I like to have WM 6.1 sine it is fast and actually there is no diffremce between 6.1 and slow 6.5 roms I selected wm 6.1 roms. since I like to have Manila 2.6 I go for Miri's Rom! it is really perfect . a cool combination of WM6.1 and manila 2.6 brings speed and eye candy rom.
the initial spped is REALLY NOT reach the OLD beloved Prophet how ever doing dome tweeks made the rom fast enugh not to bother me!
here what i have done :
1-installd miri's rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547278
>>2-changed the Glyph cache to 2KB ( making SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN SPEED )
3-installed Neo Driver Pack 3
4-Disabled the Weather animation which really slow down the device
5-installed finger key bored which is fast and not laggy ad also multilanguage and BEAUTIFUL
now i have a Daily Useable device which is fast and candy!
how ever stiil The OLD prophet respond faster even the graphic is a bit poor!
IMHO TF3D is really a USELESS application and I am looking to find a way to install manila 2D on WM6.1 on touch HD! that would be a dream ROM. since all of the problems source is TF3D! TF3D is not for our devices mybe Leo with 1 GHZ can handel it...
So.. after I've tried almost every Manila 2.5 ROM, i can finally flash back
to 'Miri's WM 6.5 | V33.0' and keep it (until i get HD2 device).
Sense 2.5 works really slow on the Blackstone, no matter what ROM i use.
On the other hand, Sense 2.1 is fast and stable, and the differences in terms of speed are huge.
Personally i think that Sense 2.5 doesn't worth it, but i would like to get
your opinions on this matter. maybe i'm missing something.
What makes you use it?
The only differences i found is new tabs like 'footprints' and shortcuts on
the home page.
Have you ever tried a rom from flashmore?! I agree...most of the roms I have tested are really slow. However, I do not know how flashmore managed it, but his rom is really fast. There is no difference in the speed to manila 2.1 roms. Give it a chance and post your feedback!!!
You can find the link to download the rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=598688
Download the newest version and I promise you will be surprised!!!!
Sounds interesting.
I'm gonna flash this ROM and will post my feedback for sure..
Thanks.
EDIT: Flashed and played with it for a couple of hours, and although the manila works faster than in any
other 2.5 ROM i tried, it's still laggy and not as fast as Manila 2.1. The new manila takes lots of resources and causes
my device to overheat.
For me there was no striking difference in speed.....but maybe if you take a close look at both versions 2.1 is a little bit faster. However, flashmores version is definetly not slow! Maybe...and I say maybe it is a alittle bit more energy consuming than 2.1 versions, but the design of manila 2.5 is waaay better than in 2.1 and htc sense is something that I do not wanne miss!! However it is a question of taste in my opinion
I agree with you with regards to the speed of manila 2.5 on the Blackstone. I am running the latest flashmore rom, and it is nowhere near the speed of the 6.1 / manila 2.1 roms (Topix ones are really the best in my opinion).
However, the following makes me keep trying the new 6.5/Sense2.5 roms:
- Better integration of the agenda functions into sense: the "agenda" view is great and the HTC screen for new appointments is much more functionnal than the MS one
- Better integration of emails: I love the mail preview of 2.5 (although I miss the fact that you cannot mark the messages as read from here)
- Much better Fav Contacts page, with a lot more options and and more direct access to your favorite contacts.
- The new document type is nice
That's about it, but these are functions I use constantly. Of course, the tradeoff is huge (slow!, HTC messenging awfully sluggish, laggy weather tabs...) and that's why I am still flashing weekly in hope of a significant increase in manila2.5 speeds
I'm using Miri v16 with sense 2.5 and I think that it's really a fast rom

I think the best way to enjoy Sense 2.5 is by getting an HD2
You should watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jt6LHOi5Q58 and
see how fast sense 2.5 supposed to be.
We should be grateful for having the opportunity to test this system on our
Blackstone, thanks to the devs, but for now, i find sense 2.1 as a better
choice for a day-by-day ROM.

Hi Pimpdaddyd,
I've just read the last 20 pages of the thread for that ROM, which include a load of issues regarding the latest version!
The thread itself seems to recommend flashing an earlier version?
Anway, out of interest:
1. Is HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex by OliNex a suitable HSPL to flash this ROM?
2. With regards to the instruction "copy this file to the windows folder with a file manager, it may ask to overwrite, this will correct the default background for Manila and dont forget to softreset." ..... Can I just do this via Active Sync instead of file manager?
Thanks,
Mattster.
I, like you, was tired of dogginess on 2.5 manila roms and always went back to 6.5/2.1 roms. I was in and out of flashmore, it has always been my favorite 2.5 rom but there always seemed to be a bug here and there which kept me from falling in love. Flashmore is awesome and he does a great job but I was not 100% happy like I was with a good weather clock 2.1 rom.
But yesterday I put in the cloudy rom and wow! Mamma mia that is one smooth running rom. It's perfect for me. After flashing 20+ roms on my phone I think I finally found the one that's going to keep me from playing with my phone.
Please be sure to give the cloudy a try before you give up. I'm not trying to be a fanboy or anything but after being frustrated for so long I think I'm finally happy with a Leo rom and wanted to share.
Good luck.
blackdragon v1.8 is very quick, try it out!!

That video is definitive. But I consider it's imposible to get that speed even in manila 2.1 in our Blackstone
I've tried almost any 2.5 manila rom and always a I return to a 2.1 one. Now I'm running topix and it's smooth and sufficient for me.
Never a 2.5 rom will be as fast a 2.1 one, it's a matter of hardware.

Well, I tried it and decided although Sense 2.5 has a better weather animation and a "week to a view" agenda, there is no way I could put up with the lag for more than a day. Thanks for the suggestion though. I'm back to Topix WM6.1 with Sense 2.1.
Mattster.
honestly try blackDragon Rom 1.8...it's worth...cause it's as smooth as a blackstone rom can be.
Seriously guys, check out this thread.

You would be doing an injustice to yourself if you did not at least investigate it and read the comments. Many of you are not aware of Cloudyfa because this is his first rom for the Blackstone but he's a long time, highly respected chef and his 1.0 for Blackstone is nothing short of amazing. At least read the thread. This thing runs like melted butter on my phone, the closest my phone has ever gotten to feeling like an HD2.
This is the last I will say about it.

I'm using Miri WM 6.5 21889 :: MANILA 2.5 :: REV 18.0 as my current Sense 2.5 ROM with the Driver Pack 3 and GFXBoost but not the Mikenif driver.
Also...don't forget the Leo Patch for the driver pack from Chainfire.
Also on a side note... the best 2.1 ROM I used was also Miri's (v35)
Hi all,
Can someone try the web version of vimeo (http://vimeo.com) and compare the speed to iphone browser? Mine seem terribly slower than the iphone's browser, especially the transition between pages.
I'm running the cyanogen room 5.0.5.3 if that makes any different.
thanks.
Just compared it with my Co workers iPhone. My browser us quicker. I'm on Enomther's ROM if that helps.

Interesting. Is it a smooth transition? I flashed the Enomther's room to see what's up. The transition is still not as smooth as on the iPhone browser.
I tried the website on the iPod Touch 3G btw.
Cyanogen changed the javascript engine, this in the changelog:
* Disable V8 in Webkit and switch back to JSC due to app incompatibilities
V8 was apparently much faster, so if that site is javascript heavy.
It stemmed from some app called Epocrates not working with V8.
I'd rather have V8 if you ask me, the last version to have it was 5.0.5.1-N1
Hey,
I don't have no idea, but my hero browser seems to be very slow
It's takes quite a lot of time, until browser will load full page... And a lot of pages wants to load in mobile view...
IS it a normal laggy browser or not?
I use android 1.5
Yup... that's normal. Biggest disappointment ever.
I think it'll get better in 2.1 though... I've seen great speed improvements when my friend got an update to 2.1 for his cellphone (though not a hero).
1. Root device
2. Flash BeHero+ v1.2
3. Flash behnaam #23 2.6.29 OC kernel
4. OC your device to 691mhz
5. Disable flash in the browser
enjoy your hero as it was meant to be with android 2.1 and blazing fast
