I have a HTC P3350 Love...
recently I had a phone crash down and Got it repaired. It took me 1500 Rs to get it repaired and Now the phone has crashed again!
The phone was working perfectly fine till a couple of months back but since then, it keeps hanging and switching off indeterminately! What do I do!
This is getting on my nerves and I must say, I have lost all my love for HTC!
I really didn't expect such a NON DURABLE phone! The worst thing, there is no bloody upgrade available for the phone on their website!

Well finally I have received my hd2. So far truly impressed and its very fast although I will have to get used to using it (from my x1) and will have to set it up so its exactly how I like it... The screen is amazing, so big and clear and excellent... The capacative screen is not as hard or as unwieldy as I thought it might be...
OS details are - Rom 1.66.76641, Radio 2.06.51.07 and then the letter G 15.34.50.07U (not sure what G means )
I got the phone on a vodafone plan (£40 a mth, 300mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet) and it cost me around £11 for the handset (reasons for this to follow). I bought the hd2 through dial a phone... or dial a phoney as they should be called, and had a hell of a time getting it delivered. Called 04 Feb 10 to order the phone and was told that it would be with me by Mon... monday came and an email arrived saying delivery postponed... fair enough I thought at least they told me... tuesday arrived and again the email came saying delivery postponed... so I called and asked if there was a problem. The chappie on the phone told me the credit thing from vodafone hadnt gone through but he called and confirmed all was ok (it was) and then told me the phone would be with me the next day.... wednesday arrived and another postponed email arrived too... so I called them again and asked what the problem was, nothing they told me... stock ok, credit cleared and all go so I would definitely have the phone the next day... thursday arrived and another email... at this stage I was fuming... so I called first thing in the morning and told them if they didnt get it to me the next day its all over, they told me that the credit thing hadnt worked properly as they were having trouble with their computers or some such and that the phone would be with me first thing friday... so I called again later that afternoon to confirm it was going out and they said yes... friday... you guessed it no phone and a phone call to dial a phoney confirmed that they had no stock, hadnt for a week or so and that they were expecting some in that afternoon and they would send mine out as a matter of urgency... I called again that afternoon to confirm the stock had arrived and they told me it had and was going out and would be with me the following monday... and thats today and it is...!!! yay for getting the phone but booo for such rubbish service and blatant lying... if they had just told me the stock was not in I would have waited a few days but to tell me all the fables they did was just hokum... sure they gave me a recommend a friend discount and £6.50 towards apps but appalling service did not make it a pleasant experience...
Anyhow I have my new baby now and am taking it for a spin... so far loving it...!!!
*edit* and best yet is its fully unlocked for any network, got my o2 sim in there and not a problem... wooohoooo
Congratulations. Hope you enjoy your device.
Word or two of advice; take the time to get to know the device first, especially mastering the keyboard. Once you know it well then take the next step which is tweaking it to what you want.
The step before tweaking is to read, read and read again. There are some excellent threads on here to help you out, e.g. the Hints & Tips thread. Searching on XDA can be a bit of a pain so use this...http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:http://forum.xda-developers.com&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all to help you out.
Once again congratulations. Enjoy.
WB
Thanks WB... I have been playing with it non stop for the last 2 hours and am really surprised at how easy the typing is... I was expecting it to be more difficult... but I havent used CE Star yet so we shall see... thanks for the pointers... reading is all I have been doing the last couple of weeks and loving xda once again for the wealth of info here... Cheers..
Ok so after playing for a while I am loving it, very fast and very responsive, and once you get used to the typing its easy and fairly fast... so much better than I expected... screen is awesome for reading and watching movies... clear and bright... I am still getting used to all the new menu systems and so forth, finding my way round the settings and now starting to install all the programs I use and need... also starting to use the bsb tweak...
My only bugbear at the moment is that I cant seem to get ce star working properly, but after some searching on here it seems that I may need to install several times for it to finally work...
congrats to your new toy!
I had issues getting it from Dial-A-Phone too - delivery right near Christmas was hit and miss but it arrived on Crimbo Eve!! Mine was also SIM free on ROM 1.48 out the box...
Since then, I've loved every minute and currently using Dutty's HG v08 ROM - I'd recommend this ROM to anyone as it's near stock but fast as hell!! You can find it HERE (you have to register on HTCpedia to get it but it's worth it!!). You also need to install HSPL to get it on but it's worth it!!
Read THIS before you do any flashing just so you know what's what...
Have fun!!
Well, I had completely screwed up my phone after flashing some roms.
For the life of me I couldn't get it into recovery or download mode. My phone was hardware locked. But I never bothered to add the hardware fix to the phone because adb worked just fine and I didn't think it was going to be a problem. Yeah, big mistake I know and if all you want to say is "I told you so" you can screw off.
Anyway, was completely stuck. I bought the phone out right on ebay, I am running it on att so there was no where really to turn but sammy to get the phone fixed. I called them up told them about some of the problems I was having and eventually got them to take the phone in for repair. It took about a week total but I got my phone fixed and I am now up and running foryo but this time I added the hardware unlock first thing out of the gate.
Hmmm, I say good on ya for resolving the prob w/o trying for a replacement phone. Just a guess, but it prolly takes Sam 15 mins to zero out your vibe and place it back on the shipping cart?
Thumbs up to Samsung a well. Free support for an ebay purchase is cool to begin with..
Yeah, that is what I thought too.
And I agree about the turn around. The day they got it from UPS they fixed it and sent it back out to me the same day.
I am very happy with the results, and the new froyo rom from 11\7\10 is really nice the phone really runs smooth.
Hi all,
I am a very smug and happy sgs2 owner but wanted to share that the first one I opened, from o2 payg, had a stuck red pixel on it. Returned in roughly 3 seconds and exchanged.
Just wanted to let you all know that it's a fab phone, coming from an sgs to an sgs2 it is as revolutionary as my old HD2, in fact it feels one hell of a lot like that phone except lighter!!!
Anyway, off to play with it!

ok it makes me mad...this is my second device(lost my original on a roller coster) i'm short on cash at the moment so i been doing research trying to find out if i could get a different device but it turns out i would have to pay full price...should i just file a claim and get the same device or would att let me renew my contract and get a different device....my last upgrade was in early april
Hi kilme14,
Thats to bad! What exactly happened to your second Surround? Does still function at all? Can you tell us if or what it does, or if its just doesn't turn on at all?
Is it not covered by warrenty?
Tough to say if they would let you renew your contract that early, and i think if they did you would still be paying almost full price for your new phone. I know I try with my phone companies and depending on how they determine when you get an upgrade its a tough shot.
Hopefully we can figure this out, or your phone company gives you a new one.
Thank you,
Coockoo
it wouldn't load past the white htc screen, and today i got an error about my storage card....but i finally got att to send me a new phone but i'm going to trade it in for a different phone...the windows phone isnt working for me
Alrighty cool, I'm glad they sent you a new one!
If by chance you end up keeping that one or go through this again. The stem of that problem comes from the SD. Its happened to quite a bit of people and replacing the 16GB SD that comes with the phone fixes. I've done this myself as they wouldn't give me warranty and it works just like brand new. I've done and there are several others who have fixed that same issue with the replacement of the SD.
I like windows phone but i keep jumping back and fourth between my desire HD and Surround. they both have so many cool aspects about them and i really can;t wait for MANGO to be released, it looks pretty nice.
Hopefully your new phone fairs a bit better! What are you going to try and get?
Take it easy,
Coockoo
oh man .
if you get eror - storage card is not working . either swapped either unavaible ( or something like . )
just hard reset phone and THATS all .
1. turn off
2. hold volume down key .
3. after screen says promt about factory settings - hit volume down again
dont be drama queen man ..
Damn, I feel bad for you man..
Got my 3GS stolen about half a year ago and I was pissed. Not the same thing that happened to you, but I hate being phoneless, and it dying must suck
Don't worry you'll get another phone soon enough !
Well it's been a helluva ride, my HD2, after nearly two years of faithful service, my touchscreen finally killed my phone. I can't even get past the lockscreen on my phone, so now it's time to move on. I'll see about getting a Nexus S or something but thanks to all the devs here and all of the community here for their wonderful advice. If it sounds like i'm giving up, unless someone here can provide a solution, i realize that cellphones have a two year shelf life anyway.

Me too.... I've tried to restore stock WM6.5 and touch-screen stills not working.... Any idea from anyone??? I still believe that it's not hardware issue. The phone doesn't fall down... I hadn't any problem, 'till yesterday.... Please.. someone.. ;(
It happened to me. I replaced the digitizer/LCD and have been good since.
P.s. I hadn't ever dropped my phone or even scratched the screen when mine stopped responding.
You must replace screen.. no other solution :\

Well mine have been faithful since now, i got it since December of 2009 and still going....
There are many things that made your touch stop working..for example:
humidity!!!! the eternal enemy of electronics...
Maybe while you were taking a bath..you got your phone playing music for you...THATS DEADLY!!
Humidity its the first thats got in my mind...if you got your HD2 pimped with android try installling wm6.5 again...if nothing happens..then its no software...!!!
The HD2 has the most "pain in ass" touchscreen ever made.....its a nitemare for technicians haha!! so i dont recommend you to try replacing it yourself
R.I.P. for you HD2 mate...and peace all over
I just bought a used HD2 that needs a new touch screen. It was weird because I bought the phone then 10 mins later the screen stopped working. I think it wasvjust epically bad timing, because the HD2 is in GREAT condition, but the phones are growing in age so the digitizer must have died.
I live in the Boston, Ma area and I'm going here to have my phone repaired...
http://www.megamobileboston.com/cell_phone_repairs.html
They sounded great on the phone and they actually list the HD2 specifically under screen repair on their website which is the first time I've ever seen that. So if you're driving distance from Boston, Ma, they will repair your HD2 screen for about $100.
yeah... i am on my second HD2 now, the first one died, the screen died twice, but it is covered under manufacturer warranty, and that is two years, so if you have had yours since december of 09, you are still in warranty i suppose.... you should give them a call and get it replaced... but if you are hspl'd then you should get rid of that before sending it back
wait, there may only be a one year warranty, because mine expired in june.... and the phone hasnt even been out for two years.... lols, silly me..... oh well, to the guy who posted above me, it is worth giving htc a call to see if your phone might be under warranty, because the screen ish is annoying, mine died a second time 3 months after being replaced...
I just got off the phone with HTC USA...they said a screen repair not under warranty is around $120....motherboard repair can be up to $290..cosmetic dings on the casing can be anywhere from $50-$150
Their prices considering the retail value of the phone...seem fair, and they are VERY thorough, they'll clean and replace EVERYTHING. But they don't pay for shipping if ur not under warranty so it's cost of repair plus about $20.
BTW - haven't been on the forums for about a year and it feels good to be back. Once I get the HD2 up and running i'll be contributing a lot to the Android forums and the HD2 forums I'm a designer and developer myself.

Exactly brother.... humidity is the worst enemy ever.
I had this problem a while ago while i was running wm6.5. I just did a factory reset and everything was fine. It happened again while running android cm7 and i did a task29 and it was fine again. Ive been happily running a custom rom ever since! hope this helps...
