Good news.
you can fix this easily
download an SPL 1.2 rom from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397518
remove sd and sim card , put the phone in bootloader by holding the camera button in and resetting(press the recessed button on the bottom of the phone.)
now connect the phone to usb port and run the upgrade program you downloaded.
Because your phone has been unlocked(spl 1.2) you can flash any SP 1.2 rom
The cause of this problem is you corrupted therom image on the phone, possibly by installing a rom with the wrong spl
Good luck and let me know how you went

Hi
The machine Won't pass the 1%
and it bsod .
then restart

try using the sd card method with a rom I suggested
read the wiki about this
Iirc you rename the nbh to atheimg.nbh and put it on the sd card then put the sd card in the phone and reset while pressing the camera button

Ola,
just for info.
I made a big mistake detaching the cable during tentatve of CID unlock
My SPV M600was dead ....
Thanks to deep investigation mainly on his forum I found the solution:
Hard reset the M600: Photo button + COmm Manaer buttor + stylo in the ole near usb connector (soft reset),
releasing first the comm button, leving photo button pressed
this leave you in a multicolor screen with usb written in the bottom left (if connected to PC)
then I run the ROM updater that I found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297489&page=3
In 10 minutes it as reborn, and I was happy again
Ciao ciao

yeah, try turning it off, or remove the battery. Then hold the camera button. Then insert USB. Phone should show bootloader (3colour screen). You can now flash official RUU.

Frozen on blue 'Windows Mobile' screen

Hi,
I've been reading through these forums and am getting very lost as to what to do.
I have the Orange SPV M3100 and it won't boot into windows. On switching it on, it does the orange bit: at the bottom - "m05 s04 b06 d1.23" and 'No GSM' flashes up briefly before the freeze on 'Windows Mobile' loading screen.
On pressing 'Ok' and power button together with a soft reset, I get to the tri-colour screen and it says "HERM100", "IPL-1.01", "HERM100", "SPL-1.04", and either "USB" or "Serial" depending on whether or not it's USB'd to a PC port.
I've tried the master reset - top two buttons and a soft reset, followed by 'R' to confirm a full reset. It immediately said 'done' or something to that effect, but still freezes on 'Windows Mobile'.
All the help threads here seem to indicate that I need to have this phone running with Active Sync on the PC to transfer files to it in order to refresh the ROM but Windows [XP] can't see the phone because it's not finished booting.
Please please please can someone give me a nudge in the right direction?
Many thanks
Dave
as you said ok and power together with soft reset action brings you tri colour screen. At that stage you plug in to active sync (4.5) and ensure you have .net framework installed on your PC.
with the tricolour screen, plug PC to phone and run the exe file from one of these ship ROM http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Available Original Shipped WM6 ROM Versions
you should then be able to get an OS back to your phone. Then get this one on to your phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
after that you can flash what ever rom you like make sure you follow the dr's suggestions here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1990320&postcount=6
other than that, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299462 this thread is the only one I had to go on with the first time I played with my hermes.

If so, is there a way retrieve them before reinstalling OS?

Hi there, well, I'm back after months of forgetting about this but still hoping to get it to work. Thanks for the above reply, but that method of putting software on still relies on getting activesync to communicate with the mobile phone via the usb cable - my phone doesn't. windows sees that I've connected a usb device but active sync gives up trying to talk to it... any further ideas greatly appreciated...

P4350 quite dead after USPL'ing

Hi,
I tried to USPL my P4350 (SPL & IPL 4.xx.xxxx) in order to update to WM6.1, using Herald-USPL-Beta3. Everything went OK until ROMUpdateUtility kicked in, and gave me an error: FILE IN USE.
So I started the ROMUpdateUtility again, with the screen still blank, and suddenly the P4350 turned off. I'm 100% sure the battery was at least 90% full during USPL'ing, so why it turned off; I have no idea.
Problem is: I can't power up the device anymore. No LED's, even when attaching it to the power adapter.
Any tips on how to fix this, or is it fair to say my device is now really DEAD?
Thanks!
Some suggestions of a Junior Member.
1st. Try a soft reset. Didn't work? Go to Step 2
2nd. Try a hard reset. Didn't work? Go to Step 3
3rd. Pull the battery off. Put it again. Try to turn it on. Didn't work? Go to Step 4
4rd. Wait replies from advanced user. End.
Thank you for replying
However none of the options you mentioned worked out.
I'm stuck waiting for some expert guidance here
Hi, it's been a while, but today I finally made -sure hope so- some progress..
I purchased a HTC Touch HD two weeks ago, from which I plugged in the power adaptor to see what my P4350 would do. (specs are the same btw as the P4350 power adaptor; output 5V, 1A) On this attempt however, the left LED on the front of the device turned RED for about 5 seconds before turning off again. I plugged in the adaptor again, and it lit up RED again. However, the device did not respond to an attempt to power it up.
What does this mean? Is it not dead after all?
Any tips on what to do?
Thanks again.
Wow man, I'm getting somewhere now!
I got the device powered on holding the RESET+POWER+CAMERA and it now hangs on the IPL + SPL screen.
What is very strange is the following:
IPL 1.08.0001
SPL 1.08.0001
as to where these were above 4.xx.xxxx before I did the USPL'ing. I am a 100% sure.. (not so sure anymore now to be honest.. )
The screen displays USB in the left bottom corner, because it is connected to the USB power supply.
I'm afraid to turn it off because it might not turn on again...
Where do I go from here?
Well, I finally got my P4350 to work again
I noticed I was able to start into bootloader mode using CAMERA+RESET, unlike previous attempts to do so. I don't know what caused the device to boot after 6 weeks, but I guess attaching the Touch HD power adapter did the trick.
At first I followed the instructions at topic "Goldcard for Herald", but somehow I wasn't able to make the MicroSD card bootable using my HTC Touch HD for the formatting.
Instead I went to page 5 of the topic and discovered this comment by leptir79, who stated the creation of the Goldcard could easily be done from a DOS-prompt in Windows, with the MicroSD card in the SD-cardreader on a PC or notebook. And this is what did the trick for me:
- I put the SD-card in my notebook cardreader (drive W: ), opened a DOS-prompt, and ran the following command to format the SD-card with the correct priviliges: FORMAT w: /FS:FAT32 /A:4096
- After that I copied heradiag.nbh to the blank MicroSD card to see if my P4350 would boot from the MicroSD card. And it did. From this tool I ran some diagnostics tools to see whether my device was fully functioning, and I got no errors. I noticed that among the diagnostics tools there was a tool to Flash the device with a new ROM
- So I downloaded HTC_P4350_WWE_4.17.405.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe, extracted RUU_signed.nbh to the root of my MicroSD card (along with heradiag.nbh), and renamed RUU_signed.nbh to heraimg.nbh.
- I started the P4350 into bootloader mode, booting from the MicroSD card. Heradiag.nbh booted up, and I chose to use the Flash ROM utility that came with heradiag. The device automatically found heraimg.nbh, and started the flashing procedure for my device. After confirming, the flashing started.
After a few minutes my P4350 rebooted, and my device is now running Windows Mobile 6.0. Everything seems to work just fine now.
So, if you don't have a second (working) WM device, but do have an cardreader on your PC or notebook, this really is the best option to create the Goldcard imho.. (even if you do have another WM-phone, really, try this procedure first before installing ActivePerl and all the perl-scripts)
Thanks everyone for all the procedures and help. You all did a great job, but most credits in this case go out to leptir79 who gave me the breakthrough in getting my -left for dead- device to work again.
This is a gold trick thats what i'm waiting for...
I have my heralds bricked since 2 months ago... Yup....really bricked...means cant do bootloader mode or hard reseting on device...
And already sent it to the HTC care center, and they ask for mainboard replacing...which is too expensive for me...400US...later cancelling it...
Searching out this forum, and didn't find a solution to reprogramming OMAP via JTAG...then my research suspended...
Untill I found this...
All I need...just to enter to the bootloader...powering up the brick
Can't wait to try this method @home...ASAP...
For now...just looking for 5V, 1A Charger first....

ipl-v.1.00
spl-v.1.2.oripro
battary status
p.s. forgive me english its not my native language
I managed to flash it yesterday. I had the same problem as you. It seems that u have succeeded to unlock your athena. The black screen also appeared on my athena, so i was worried that i bricked it. But then i found out it is quite normal, if your have followed the 3 steps olipro SPL. If I am not wrong, the black screen appeared in step 2. so now you flash with a wm 6, then restart from the begining the 3 steps olipro SPL. you can download the wm 6 from here. good luck.

by the way, i am completely disappointed with Athena. It is working extremely slow and it cannot play any videos. So it is a waste of money. I never expected such a poor pda from HTC.
doesn't work
wow, really? Make sure you've read as much as you can about flashing issues before you trash the hardware. It took me 8 different ROMs including 4 temporary bricks before I found the configuration that rocks this thing. My video is smooth (all formats) my camera is far better than my tilts, especially in lower light settings, and with real VGA set to 128, this screen is unmatched. Garmin gets me anywhere and I have no speed problems at all. Don't give up, people.

The phone should charge via usb cable , if not try a different cable.
Once the phone is charged (light shows green around the joystick nipple) another option is to flash via SD card
There is a guide to do this in the wiki

[Q] White Screen of Death, Please HELP! :(

Hello everybody,
I have a refurbished HTC HD2 (sent to me by HTC) that is stuck on a white screen. However, I can get it to a green, blue red and white screen by holding down the volume button and turning it on. I haven't installed anything except a twitter application 2 weeks ago. I was on an interview for a internship and my phone all of the sudden made a loud noise and the screen when black. When I reset it, the screen turned white. Did I brick it? Is there anyway to make my phone work? I am so scared!

Hi,
If you can get the tri-color bootloader screen,it is not bricked.
From there you can start to re-install everything.
I hope you made frequent back ups, because you may not be able to retrieve your data.
Hi candrade,
I'm in the same situation as you matey - take a look at this thread and see if it can help you in any way:
White Screen of Death - Is There a Solution?
I also get a blank white screen. I can enter Bootloader mode but when I connect the device to my PC via USB, the word 'Serial' at the bottom of the screen doesn't change to 'USB'. I've also tried both soft and hard resets, with no luck.
Best of luck trying to resolve the issue. If you do manage to make any progress then please post it on here.

Hi,
If your serial is not changing to usb, maybe your pc/laptop is lacking the correct drivers.
Use ActiveSync for XP and WMDC for Windows 7.

You only need the Activesync/WMDC drivers if the phone is fully booted up into WinMo. It is completely different drivers when connected in Bootloader Mode. Even with no drivers installed the 'Serial' will change to 'USB' just be the very nature of initiating the communication with the PC.

In order of known problems:
USB cable either not a data cable (only a power cable) or faulty - solution try another cable.
Front USB Connectors on PCs - solution, try the rear USB connector or if possible another PC.
Faulty USB on the the phone - I had the same problem with an HTC Diamond.
Corrupted Bootloader, thus the phone won't communicate with its internal USB controller.

You don't need Activesync or WMDC if you connect the phone to the computer in Bootloader Mode.
The easiest method is to download the ROM from HTC's website (this guarantees that you are getting the correct ROM for your phone). Rename the .exe file to .zip, then extract the .nbh file. Rename that .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
Copy that file to the root of a FAT32 formatted microSD Card (less than 8GB in size).
Place the SD Card in the HD2.
Put the phone into Bootloader mode. It will then pick up the ROM and install it.
Oh no so this won't work with a Scan Disk 16 gb I take it? And do I put the scan disk into the computer downloading the rom?
And bootloader mode is the multicolored screen correct?
Sorry, totally computer/phone illiterate!
THANKS SO MUCH!

Yes, Bootloader is the muulticoloured screen.
You can buy or borrow a 1 or 2GB microSD Card with a either a USB adaptor or micro to SD adaptor and SD to USB adaptor. Most laptops and lots of desktops come with built-in SD Card readers.
Did your HD2 not come with a 2GB SD Card?
Of course not :/ came with a really small 16gb ...I'll have to buy it from like Best buy or something?
