Does Smartwatch actually work with the HTC HD2? I have been trying to get it working but no joy with my HTC HD2 and Sony Ericsson MBW-100 and also MBW-150. There is no proper installation instructions either for it, this may be a reason.
Can anyone help with this?
Yep, I have the MBW-150.
1. Firstly remove the MBW-150 from your bluetooth devices if you've attempted to sync them;
2. Then download smartwatchm Here
3. Choose connection type (Settings -> Device). Select device you have.
4. Start synchronization on the watch (4th icon).
5. Discover the watch from within smartWatchM (Settings -> Discover and Pair) and wait for pairing.
6. Select (Menu -> Start (Connect)).
7. If you see the text "Waiting for connection. Press a button on the watch.", simple press a button on your watch... You're connected.
For further information go here where moneytoo who developed this program has a thread all about it.
Hope that helps

I don't understand this. Once you have downloaded smartwatch where do you install it on the HTC HD2?
Do you only need the .cab file? as I see on the persons thread you gave who developed it there is an .exe and a .cab to download.
The only other information I can find right at the end of that very long thread is someone who has a HTC HD2 that can't get smartwatch working???
I need full proper instructions really.
SmartWatch does no way work with the MBW-100 and HTC HD2. It does however work with the MBW-150.

Just following this instruction. You can install on either device or mem card. I guarantee that it really working if you cant connect go to Setting > BT > Device MBW-150 > disconnect port serial then it should be work.

Smartwatch works with the MBW-150 and a HTC HD2 but not with the MBW-100 and a HTC HD2.
Smartwatch WORKS perfectly fine with the MBW-100..I have the HTC HD2 and the MBW-100 and had NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER after reading the FAQ by moneytoo..
and i quote "Disable the Serial service in registry. Change "HKLM\Software\Widcomm\BTConfig\Services\0001\Auto" from 1 to 0 and restart your device."
"1. Firstly remove the MBW-150 from your bluetooth devices if you've attempted to sync them"
How do you do this on HD2??

I've the same setup and after removing the piece in the registry as earlier stated in this thread and a soft reset, everything works fine.
I have a HD Mini and a MBW-100 (I also have the MBW-150 btw).
Had no luck in connecting. Got it paired through the phone's normal BT interface, but in SmartWatch no luck whatsoever.
Changed the registery with this one:
"Disable the Serial service in registry. Change "HKLM\Software\Widcomm\BTConfig\Services\0001\Auto " from 1 to 0 and restart your device."
Then tried to pair using the functionality in SmartWatch as suggested here:
5. Discover the watch from within smartWatchM (Settings -> Discover and Pair) and wait for pairing.
No luck.
I then did a "normal" pairing again through the phone's BT interface and after that the SmartWatch did connect with the MBW-100 without any further problems.

ON stock roms you also have to temporary disable HTC SENSE to get the smartwatch program to open you also have to disable the registry key HKLM\Software\Widcomm\BTConfig\Services\0001\ Auto " from 1 to 0 and restart your device." to disable sense go to settings/today/items tab/ scroll down to HTC SENSE/ UNCHECK / THEN PRESS OK after that pair the watch using smartwatch NOT BT MANAGER
Hello everyone!
I just got my SE MBW-150 Music Edition (the orange one) from the box and spent an hour or so trying to get it to work with my HTC HD2.
I was using a custom rom and I read on the forum that there are known issues with custom roms... so I loaded the latest stock WWE rom from htc.com and the only thing currently installed on the phone is openwatchm v1.2.5.1.
So the issue: the watch and phone pair successfuly and when I hit the Start (Connect) button in smartwatchm I get the standart message "Waiting for connection. Press a button on the watch." - so I hit the upper right corrner of the watch and I get the battery icon on the screen... but nothing else happens. It just hang there. I tried selecting SE MBW-150 Update from the list - same story.
Any help will be of great value right now... I want to see it work so badly
I figured it out finnaly. Here is what I did:
1. Installed latest WWE ROM from HTC.com
2. Apply the registry fix mensioned in this thread and reboot the phone
3. Downloaded and installed SmartWatchM v1.2.6.0 (latest, not stable)
4. Start SWM and select Settings > Device > SE MBW-150 Update
5. From watch - start pairing function.
6. From phone SWM - Settings > Discover and Pair.
7. After pair completes on phone press Start (Connect) and then any key on the watch
8. Enjoy
Scratch that!
It seems to work but the watch started acting really weird! Constantly showing start/stop presses...
My best guess so far is that current smartWatchM for WM is far outdated and is somewhat incompatible with latest stable rom and current HTC Sense on the HD2 atleast.
I hope to see new version in the near future. The watch goes in the box for me until then...
Best wishes!

Ive installed my TomTom and its all working now, I can browse through the map and its all good. BUT! Im not recieving any GPS?
I read through a few posts about how to make it work and there was lengthy talk of downloading things to hijack my phone or something?
I thought TomTom was supposed to be compatible with the MDA Vario? Surely there should just be an option to say, CONNECT!
If anyone can explain the simplest way for it to work I would be very happy, Im using tomtom5.2
Well I just installed my TomTom yesterday and connected succesfully with my BT GPS Reciever.
What you have to do is : Enable your BT through the Soft button on the left, or by going to "Start" then "Settings" then "Connecting Tab", click on Bluetooth icon, check the "Bluetooth Enable" ( my device is in german language, maybe I write wrong translation for the words ) then below hit the devices tab, click on the New to check for any near BT device... When your PPC recognises your GPS, click and hold on it in the list, then choose edit (am not sure about the right word since mine is in german lang.) check the Seriel connect... , save it, then you goes back to BT devices list, now below hit the "COM-connects" now you see in a list two lines, choose the first one ( should begin with the word "New..." then choose COM 6 for your BT GPS, save all this... Go to your TomTom and start it, there you have to go to GPS settings and choose the same COM, in our case it is "COM 6", that's it... TomTom should now recognises your GPS.
I hope this helps.
Thanks, I think Im getting somewhere...
I have went onto
bluetooth
devices
new partnership
but all it is finding is something called HOME-C8P8OHXESF ?
When I try and hold down on this and edit it has a section that says
Select services to use from this device
But there is no options to click on ?
Well, the device name that your wizard found doesn't look like a gps, but who knows, maybe this is it's modell's name.
Well I found this tutorial from the TomTom sit itself abou how to configure your GPS to work in any PPC that runs WM5 :

Hi folks,
let me first explain why I made this code:
I have a Universal and an Audi A4 with integrated BT-Handsfree. I normaly use a plantronics headset with my UNI.
Now when I'm in my car and I switch off my headset, the UNI connects to the car's handfree unit.
Somehow the UNI and the Audi Handsfree doesn't play well together and sometimes there where connection problem during voice calls. This behaviour made me think about what the problem can be and I detected that if I switch off bluetooth on my UNI and then reenable it everything is fine. When I then leave the car and turn on my headset I had the same problem. The headset was not able to reconnect to the UNI until I turned off and reenabled bluetooth on my Universal.
I was unsatisfied with the fact that I had to go through the bluetooth settings everytime when I just want to toggle the bluetooth mode and so I worte the attached code.
Now to the program itself:
The cab installs btIO.exe to \Program Files\btIO and creates a shortcut in the autostart folder.
After starting it resides in the tray. It has three icons:
Green BT-Icon = BT is enabled and discoverable
White BT-Icon = BT is enabled and connectable (non discoverable)
Red BT-Icon = BT is switched off
You can toggle between connectable and OFF by simply clicking the icon.
If you tap'n'hold the icon a menu appears and lets you choos between all modes.
That's it.
I'm aware that there are other programs like this, but this one fit's my needs and thus I thought I share it with others.
Enjoy it, it's freeware.

Smartphone version of btIO just released
Hi folks,
on popular demand I created a version of btIO for Smartphones.
It's currently not as "feature rich" as the ppc version. However, it does simply what it should, it switches the bluetooth radio to different states.
- initial release
- Unzip and simply copy the exe file to your smartphone
- Uppon execution it will lookup the current bluetooth state and change it and notify you of the new state
- If current BT state is OFF it will switch it to CONNECTABLE
- If current BT state is CONNECTABLE it will switch it to DISCOVERABLE
- If current BT state is DISCOVERABLE it will switch it off
There is no indication icon, nor is it running in the background and eating ressources. You simly execute it, it changes the BT state and exits...
That's it. I think it should be called by some kind of launcher or via shortcut...
If you think you have a good idea for improvement or found a bug, just drop me a line or post here.
Get it from here: http://www.silentservices.de/btIO.html
As always: Enjoy, it's freeware
cheers
i can recommend this as VERY good batterystatus bt icon replacement.

Can you give some explanation on all the other features when I pop up the menu? Tried a number of them without getting any response, so don't know how the others work, except for the first few selections.
Thanks.

The PPC version has the following options (I'll drop the first 3):
- Audio2BT
Routes the device-audio to the bluetooth device (headset or handsfree).
NOTE: This is not meant to work for A2DP connections.
- Audio2Device
Returns the audio back to the device
- AudioGWCCON
Establishes a gateway control channel with the bluetooth device. This means that a connection to the headset or handsfree is established, but audio is currently not routed. If you are afraid about battery drain, you can close the GCC with the next option. This will not prevent the proper function of your headset or handsfree, it will just take a second on an incoming call until the connection is established again. You can accomplish permanent power saving with a registry option under:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway and set PowerSave to 1 and make a softreset
This setting will automaticly close the control channel after each call.
- AudioGWCCOFF
Closes the gateway control channel to save battery power
- BTSettingsCPL
Goes to the Bluetooth settings control panel
Excellent Program
Thanks...this is a wonderful program for my p3300. I no longer have to use BlueMusic to send music to my BT set. Good set of controls. I like it very much and strongly recommended.
Foods for thoughts: can we removed the exit command from the menu? Why does anyone want to exit this wonderful program is beyond me.
Can we have the menu popup when the icon is clicked? Right now, we have to press and hold for the menu. These are just comestic inputs only.
Thanks...HaiLe...

You're welcome mate,
well about the exit button: If I'll drop it, one will need to have a taskmanager to colse the app. I personaly "hate" programs that don't give me the option to be closed.
About the popup: btIO is meant to give a speedy way to enable or disable bluetooth. Thus, if you tap the icon bluetooth will be switched to CONNECTABLE (but invisble). If you click it again bluetooth will be disabled. This is the reason why you have to tap'n'hold to get the rest of the options. I can implement something that you might be able to change this behaviour with a registry entry.
I have a new version (0.6) in the pipe which has some new features for audio control. It will let you choose between mute, vibrate and on. I implemented this because I got myself a HERMES and wanted a quick way to control audio with the jog-wheel. It also changes the popup menu. Items can now be checked instead of having double options for ON and OFF.
Will be released soon.
btIO v0.6 and WiFiIO v0.2 for testers is out
Folks,
I've just put version 0.6 for PPC2003 and WM5 online. Both are for Pocket PC only.
Version for PPC2003 is here:
http://www.silentservices.de/btIO-0.6-PPC2003.cab
Version for WM5 is here:
http://www.silentservices.de/btIO-0.6-WM5.cab
The only difference is that the WM5 version also has options for Mute/Vibrate/SND-ON. I've found no reference for doing the same for 2003 devices so currently sound control is not available for 2003 devices.
New features:
- Changed the menu: Now there are checkable items instead of 2 items for ON/OFF
- Added SpeedToggle function:
-- If SpeedToggle is enabled btIO behaves like before. Means: tapping on the icon will switch BT ON/OFF, tap'n'hold will display the menu.
-- If SpeedToggle is disabled and you tap on the trayicon the menu appears. If you tap'n'hold it will switch ON/OFF
The second app I put online is wifiIO, which is the same like btIO just for the WiFi interface. The initial release had a bug which led to a high cpu load when wifi was on and the device went into sleep mode. This is fixed so it should now be save to use it.
It will work for the following two WiFi NICs:
TIACXWLN
TNETWLN
wifiIO is currently working on the following devices (as I'm aware of):
HTC Hermes with WM5/6
HTC Athena with WM5/6
It is NOT working on the following device:
HTC Wizard
HTC Prophet
You can find WiFiIO here:
http://www.silentservices.de/wifiIO-0.5.cab
Read more on wifiIO here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1561339&postcount=65
Please report back if everthing is working as expected.

Hello,
i tried the wifiIO on my htc prophet and gullum prophet touch wm6 vii rom and it didnt work. Keep getting the error message "Sorry, no WLAN Hardware found"
I am pretty sure my prophet is using the TNETWLN NIC. Help. i am well impressed by these small utilities.

btWatch is an application developed for Windows Mobile 5 and 6 based Smart Phones and Pocket PCs. It allows for communication with bluetooth enabled watches, such as those from Sony Ericsson (MBW-100 & MBW-150) and Abacus. Due to the fact that these watches were manufactured to work with specific phones only, they have previously been just out of reach for those of us partial to WM5/6 based technology.
While these watches were designed to support basic CallerID presentation and messaging alerts (some also control audio playback) I have taken it a step further by adding new features and improving upon the basic features.
Here's the latest version of btWatch. Currently at version 0.1.6
If you are having trouble getting your watch to work with btWatch, consider using smartWatchM which is being developed by MoneyToo.
This version currently supports the following:
Code:
1. Pairing of a new Watch directly through the app.
2. Establishing communication with an already paired Watch.
3. Creates a registry key (HKLM\SOFTWARE\btWatch) for device setup and options.
4. Options Menu to enable/disable features.
5. Current Options: CID, SMS, EMAIL, VIBRATION and Number of rings to Vibrate on.
6. Fully functional incoming call notification (2-line name/number + vib for n rings)
7. Notification of incoming Text Messages (displays name/num and full message).
8. Notification when new Email arrives (displays name/email and subject).
9. Digital Date and Time are synchronized with the phone.
10.Debugging mode to allow you to see behind the scenes for testing purposes
("Monitor Connection").
11.Added EKG annimation when connection is established.
12.Watch will now auto connect after going out of range and coming back within range.
13.Added 2-line text support.
14.Added basic support for MBW-150
15.Reject a call by pressing upper right button twice (much more responsive)
16.Display phone status info by pressing crown(play)
16.1. Number of unread email messages
16.2. Number of unread SMS messages
16.3. Number of missed calls
16.4. Voicemail Notification Icon
16.5. Current phone battery charge Icon
16.6. Headset Pairing Icon
16.6. Live "bars of service" from phone
17.Lists all appointments for the day by holding crown(FF)
18.Control WMP (press upper right button to activate/deactivate control) via crown
18.1. Pause, Play, Next Track
18.2. Displays current Artist/Track name on watch
19.Fonts are loaded dynamically from bmp files allowing users to modify fonts
20.Display task list with priority and due date by pressing upper right button when
viewing appointments menu.
21.New Menu System - Press and hold Crown(FF) to access, then press upper right to cycle.
Note about fonts: You can edit the bmp files with windows paint. Do not alter the height of the files (8 pixels), but you can alter the width and content. Must be saved as monochrome (1bit) bmp file. Do not change the individual file names in any way.
Installation: To simplify installation I have also compiled 2 separate cab installers. One for Smart Phones without the touch screen and one for PocketPC style phones. Should work on WM5 and above.
Disclaimer: While I make every effort to thouroughly test btWatch before each developmental release, I cannot guarantee compatibility with your phone/watch. As this is beta software, you use it at your own risk.
Price: btWatch is currently free for you to use as you please, but if you feel that the application is worth pursuing you may make donations to help further its development.
Anyway, I hope you all like the new version!

If there is a com port associated with your watch in start-settings-bluetooth-comports delete it, then delete the watch from the list of paired devices. Ensure that you do not have moneytoo's app set to startup with WM (or temporarily remove it) and soft reset. Then please pair the watch directly through btWatch and let me know what happens. I will take a look at the code in the mean time.

At first i had the same problem, i couldn't get the watch connected to my Tytn II (Kaiser), after deleting COM6 and removing Moneytoo's program and reinstalling BTWatch it works great. I will test it in the field over the coming days.
Donation will follow....thanks for creating a second program for us PPC users.
Little Question ..... btWatch have a Appointment notify Feature ?
btWatch hangs
Tried it out and i like the overall functions of the program. It potentially can become a true opponent for smartwatchm. But what makes me change back to this program is that btWatch keep stalling as soon as the ppc is turned off for a while. When i turn it on (wake it up) and try to open btWarch is only see the turning circle, forever (it seems that way), apparantly this is the case when i've been out of reach from the ppc and come back to it. When that happens i cannot reconnect and i have to soft-rest the ppc to start thing up again....so good effort but alas....i'm switching back to smartwatchm and waiting for a stable version...keep up the good work...
Edit: while btWatch still hangs (turning circle) it seems to reconnect....+1 for btWatch...
If your program displayed incoming emails (like Sender Name and Subject) it would make it perfect!!
I'll have an eye on your program too. I like the little icon stuff going on there, headset, battery meter and signal level, oh boy I'm such a kid
But since I have a MBW-150 your app isnt fully up to moneytoos programs possibilities yet. But I'll definitely keep an eye on your work, I like how far we can take those watches already anyway, if I remember how proud I was using it with my SE P1 back in the days to skip tracks in the music player... Ridiculous
I wonder though what SonyEricsson can come up with. The MBW-150 is listed as a compatible accessory for SonyEricssons upcoming XPERIA X1 which runs WM6.1...
would btwatch work with the LG Style-i as well?
the program seems to find the style-i but hangs when trying to connect to it
Version 0.1.7 Released!
Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted in a while. Life got busy this week.
Anyway, here's the latest version of btWatch!
Version 0.1.6 seemed to be a bit buggy for most, so I re-worked a lot of the code. It should connect and reconnect more reliably now. I added email sender and subject to the email notification as requested. I added a minor update to the Appointments menu: now shows 1st all day event as well. Unfortunately, this version still does not show appointments that are setup using a recurring pattern (eg. every monday), but I will add these in an upcoming version as well as appointment notifications. BTW if you connect the watch and click "Test Menu" in the test menu you will get a glimpse of the new menu system for v0.1.8!
Link is on 1st post.

Currently this device is not supported, as it uses far more commands than the bluetooth watches. But, btWatch could be ported to a new application to support the Style-i in the future. I will look into supporting the Style-i, but do not expect an app until btWatch is at a very stable version.
Tested the latest version with my HTC S621 and my MBW-150. After I sent myself an email to see how it works, the program crashed... I repeated the test, it crashed again.
p.s. I dont know if you have a landscape device or not, but on my Excalibur the text area gets cutoff at the bottom. It really gives it an unrefined look... :/

Sorry to hear it crashed. Currently the app looks for an account named ActiveSync to pull email from. I will update it in a few minutes and post a version that defaults to the 1st account if this one is not found. The next version will include a place to select the account you want to check in the options menu. I will also look into having the app auto detect screen orientation, etc.
EDIT: If you downloaded v0.1.7 earlier and had trouble with appointments or email, try downloading it again. I altered the code to handle the error from the appointments menu properly and the email alerts now default to the 1st email account in the device. Please let me know if it is working better. Again, I will update the options menu of the next version to allow for account selection.
I spent the last few hours working on another update. I added a menu system accessible by holding the crown(FF). Once you enter the menu, you simply tap the upper right button to cycle through the different options. Once the menu you want is selected just wait and it will load after 3 seconds. I also added a new item in the setup menu to allow you to choose what email account to monitor (instead of just ActiveSync/Exchange).
For now I am not posting the newer version. I want to test it out tomorrow and make a few changes, but it should be posted in the next day or so.
Are these watches any good? I was thinking of buying one, but they are expensive to buy without seeing them in the flesh first.
Also other than styling are there any major differences between the mbw-100 and the mbw-150?
I'll wait for you to release the newer version, before I go though the ordeal of uninstalling smartwatch, deleting com ports, reboot, install your app... etc
Also last night the app would hang while it was drawing the EKG animation at startup. It would draw 2/3 of it and then stop. It did it a few times until I got pissed and uninstalled it. Hehe
Hey I got a question for you, pcfixitman... Do you know if it's possible to modify an app like yours to communicate with a device over the "handsfree profile" in the same manner ? Sending and receiving GSM AT commands ?
This is really cool, works like a charm on my Elfin
Thanks a bunch for this great software
Hi, this program can run whith car kit Sonyericsson whith screen for use contact ?
which watches support this protocol? How to search for them? How much does they costs?
It's not a protocol, it's an application. The model numbers are MBW-100 and MBW-150. Do your own research.... google.
Sorry for asking this, as there's lots of threads about bluetooth problems with the HTC. This is a bit unique though, trying to connect to a bluetooth printer.
As far as I can tell, the Pogo doesn't support BPP and just uses OBEX. I can't get the devices paired for love nor money.
Anyone got any general tips with bluetooth file transfer and the HTC?
I've successfully connected a Samsung G600 with no problems at all, so it's not the printer, just what appears to be a finnicky stack in WinMo 6.5.
Any direction you could provide would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Tim
Quick reply.
After a reboot (soft reset I believe it's called ) OBEX worked to the printer and I'm now able to make 5x3 prints on the move!!
Not entirely impressed how you get to this interface. Settings, all settings, Bluetooth, 3rd tab (hammer, protractor, screwdriver), BT Send Object > Choose image by file name (no thumbs).
It'd be nice to be able to be browsing the images in the album and choose send via bluetooth. Anyone got any tips?
Thanks in advance. And Merry Christmas!!!
Tim
Not sure if you tried the following:
Open File Explorer.
Browse to the folder containing the image you want to print.
Tap and hold the image you want to print
From the Popup Menu, choose Send via Bluetooth
If Bluetooth is turned off, it will ask you to turn it on
Select the device to send it to
Ready.....(hopefully)
I have a Poleroid Pogo.. Here is what I did:
1) Tried to add device (By scanning and selecting the device) Use device pin (mine is 6000)
2) Added But said "The device has no profiles we were interested in"
3) In the Bluetooth program select last tab (With hammer etc)
4) Select "Print Images"
5) Select which picture you want (It shows thumbnails here, but can take a few moments if you have a load of pics on your phone)
6) Click "Next" then the Pogo will be visable.
7) Select "Pogo"
8) Screen Then appears with Printer (Should be your poleroid), Print Layout should change to "Photo" and be greyed out, Then a thumbnail of your pic.
9) Press "Print" and the HD2 will send to Pogo.
This has worked for me everytime after I have done a Hard reset and/or Flash of new rom. I'm currently on a 1.48 rom. Working Great.
Hope this helps.

Guys
Thank-you so much for posting replies. After following both of your instructions both methods work. It would appear that my problem is that if it doesn't work first time, I need to reboot - which I can live with.
The Print Images option is the best I have found, due to showing thumbnails of the images. But the other option is useful if I have a lot of images and I know the file name I want to print.
Bit of a shame that the bluetooth screen (print image) is not accessible without going to Settings > All Settings > Bluetooth. Be nice to be able to get to it from the home screen.
Thanks again chaps!

Hi all...
Before Blackstone, I used Hermes with TouchFLO ROM and minor upgrades and tweaks...
I'd love to make this precious stone more precious...
But..
Have bunch of questions before that...
1. First of all, I didn't jet do anything cause I don't know which version of .NET frameworks I got...
Where can I check it...?
I tried to install 3.5.1 version for Windows 7 which I run, but installation could never be completed without unknown error...
2. Both Hermes and Blackstone have anoying thing when receiving data via bluetooth...
So, when I want to activate it on my phone, I go to - Settings tab > Communications > Turn on Bluetooth ant then go to Settings > Bluetooth > Mode tab > check mark "Make this device visible......" to be able to recieve files from other devices...
Can I change this somehow....?
3. I'm using FingerKeyboard2 but cannot make it to open at startup...
I installed SIPchange app but it won't to accept changes when setting FingerKeyboard to be default.
4. How can phone go to landscape mode, when it's rotated? (I'm sure it can be done)... With some app or...?
When looking photos, if I rotate it, picture also rotates...
Thx for replies...
