Microsoft Money on an Exec

Ref: MS Money 2006 for Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs
The MS-provided offering to sync Money with a pocketpc still doesn't support WM5, so I'm on the lookout for an alternative - any recommendations?
I've tried 'Cash Organizer' which does support WM5 (everyone but MS seem to be able to get their software up to date! :evil but has a fairly icky interface.
Can anyone recommend another?

Does it sync with desktop MS Money?
I had a quick look at their site, and the closest reference I found was:
"Import and export qif files to and from Quicken(TM) and Microsoft Money(TM)"

which implies the ability to sync from handheld to desktop, but not the other way around
It'd be good to be able to see stuff like current account balances - can this do that?

I've been using SPBFinance Money Edition, quite good -- better than MS Money in the sense that it even allows you to have foreign currency accounts sync'ed!

In my opinion the SPB offering is kind of a copy of the Mastersoft one. Not sure about syncing with desktop Microsoft Money as I only use the PDA prog, but you can find out if you check out the support forum in the link I gave you. They are very quick at answering queries in my experience. ANd you can always download a trial and see for yourself what it does and if you like it.

KeepTrack from Illium soft is very good. I use it since a year ago. Give a try. Very stable and syncronizes perfect

SPBFinance has version/module to Sync with MSMoney. See

[03/31/09] New windows live mobile client out, but no download?

So this web site is is crowing about new versions of windows live apps, with more (or reinstated) features like photo upload and live messenger... but all the download links lead in a circle (when they don't get caught by the popup blocker).
Does anyone have an actual download of these apps?

right now they have 10.6.0042.800
but i remember reading somewhete that they will be releasing a new version on thursday, thats tomrrow, so i'm waiting to see what they have instore for the new version. plus the funny thing is in build 6.5 21198 they 10.6.0052.900 so it might be that build they're talking about. the 0052.900 build is not much different from the other builds but i do like the slide left/right functionality though.

Anybody want to confirm messenger will indeed install (on Verizon). If not I will keep what I have.

A version that actually works and does not come up with the network connection issue ?

seems to work well....actually fixed an issue I had with the stock Touch Pro ROM (the new one) where Messenger didn't work on my phone (it would close immediately after opening).

installed and so far it is working great. no problems at (soft reset after instll). it seems scrolling large emails filled with images have been improved but really not sure about that, maybe its just the speed of the 21198 build. but all in all its great. i wish they had the dinamic backgrounds like they have on the desktop.

Wait, where is this latest version? I searched for that version number, but nothing is coming up.

Has anyone figured out how to get the photo upload to work? Uploading photos to your live space is advertised as a feature, but I don't see any kind of interface for it.

Marketplace problems

Hi.
Just wanted to upgrade Office to 2010, was excited to do it.
I did and I got error opening application!
Does anybody know what is the problem?
Should I reset for this purpose Marketplace to install apps on internal storage?

on my xperia first it install new marketplace and then l have founded office 2010 and start download,after that l install with no problem...l have used wifi hotspot to do all that...

I am having errors downloading the application (office 2010) from Marketplace, using WIFI

it has no problem in installing..l install on device because office and marketplace are part of moust importance for x2..l have to use it even if my mem card is out of phone...

hello I have the same problem. I can Install the Office 2010 Mobile with success.
word starts ok but excel doesn't want to start. gets the stupid errors when trying open excel doc. and if I trying to create a new one nothing happened. pushing the new button and nothing. I Tried several installs both on memory card and phone card but same result. using the 2007 for now.... hoping to find a solution.

The Marketplace is a application from Microsoft and have a very big space consuming from memory of PDA and there are some bugs too. The better way to install the programs from Marketplace is a searching the web for the original version. The new version of Office Mobile 2010 have some problems too, I installed the aplication a month ago - and have some errors. Now I use a older but stable version of MS Office on PDA...originally preinstalled

market place has been working fine for me. i have it installed on my device (set settings to install apps on storage card) and can install apps (including office 2010) over 3g. so far, no poblems with marketplace for me
my personal experience for office 2010 has been a positive one. i've used my phone to give a presentation in class using power point and i write assignments in word (spell check, word count, and even added headers and footers too).

One note
If I installed MS Office 2010 on X2 - the One Note and Excel was not able to open it. Do you have perfectly working all aplications from MS Office 2010 ?

It would seem with the introduction of CoPilot 9, a number of changes have occurred to their web site. As such, the old free APK update for CP8 has been removed from their system and can no longer be downloaded. It's still legit to own as it requires activation, so if someone could host the file contact me and I'll add the link, otherwise, this thread is effectively invalid. Sadly I no longer have the APK in question, because I just invested in CP9.

This isn't specifically for the HD2. In fact this works for any device! WinMo -> Android OR Android -> WinMo.
Since those geniuses Coutlla/Dan fixed GPS for the HD2 Android, I thought for those of you who have purchased Co-Pilot and wish to transfer it over to Android, I'd make a small guide.
Requirements:
- A *LEGAL* copy of CoPilot 8 for Windows Mobile and the license key
- The latest version of CoPilot 8 for Android (works in Froyo now): LINK RESTORED
I bought it about 8 months ago for my HD2, for Windows Mobile 6.5. Great piece of software. I contacted ALK to ask if I could transfer between OS's and they said no, it wouldn't work! It also clearly states on their web site that transfers don't work: LINK RESTORED
So being stubborn, I thought I'd take my own license from WinMo and deactivate it, stick it into Android and needless to say - it works and I have a fully legal copy of CoPilot 8 running on my Android Froyo device. Those cheeky beggers at ALK!!!
So how to get it working:
Make sure you still have CoPilot installed under Windows Mobile and activated;
Launch CoPilot. Go to the Menu|Settings|Licensing (NOTE: If you can't see this, find "More Settings" and select that first to show Licensing);
Select your Map Region from the list (Mine was UK and Ireland), then press "Deactivate";
CoPilot will now shut down;
Boot into Android and using an installer, install the APK file which is in the requirements section at the top of the page or here (LINK RESTORED);
Open CoPilot from the Menu and it will ask for your license info. Enter this as you did when you first bought CoPilot (usually a username and password);
Bada Bing. That should be it, all working!
Just to clarify one further time, this is only for legally purchased licenses. No questions about dodgy software please. Thank you.

It should be on the root of your SD Card in a folder "CoPilot".

I wonder if the text to speech feature will also work.... using the current key.

That was the only reason I would need to go back to WM. I use CP8 all the time!

It has TTS built in!!! Don't even need to buy it! My traffic key worked also!

Haha, my motivation for switching was the same. It's better in Android IMO. For example you use the Android keyboard so it's qwerty and accepts voice input. It also has controllable volume over bluetooth For me I always listen to Music via bluetooth and in WinMo there was no control over individual volumes. If I had the volume at a normal level for music, the speech was far too loud. Now it's all controllable

Man I hated that Copilot non qwerty! Wow, speech too! Neat, just need to download the cp8 app for android now...

My only concern would be that Copilot ALK may not want us to transfer. But I do think that other HD2 owners or anyone coming from WM should be, and would be, happy to transfer/use CP8 that they paid for on Android.
So I guess ...go for it. I'm switching ASAP just in case...hehe.

All working, the only thing I should have done was deactivate Premium Live Services first in WM.... before the UK/IRELAND maps.... not really a big problem as the live services are a waste of time anyway.
To be honest, comparing Copilot to the free Google Navigation app I think Copilot will be dead and buried within a year.

what about tomtom navigator?

I have done this before to transfer between winmo devices and it works a treat. Do you know if you can do the reverse of this and deactivate it in Android and then reactivate it back in winmo? Be useful to know before I get locked in to android.

Yes it is 100% reversible. ALK can't be bothered with all the enquires I think and I truly believe it's a good way for them to make a quick extra money! As a user who paid for it once, I refuse to pay again. Take Photoshop for example, if you buy it for a mac, you can use the same license on a PC and vice versa.

AFAIK, there is no TomTom for Android. Quite frankly they are so behind with their mobile software, it's just not worth using anyway.

Hope ALK is planning on integrating the contacts in CP8.... Other than that, it works great.

Yes you can, but you have to contact them via email or their web site. Just explain and ask them to release your license. I've done it on numerous occasions.

Office app that does drop down menu

I have tried several office apps but none of them are able to recognize drop down menus in excel. anybody know of one that does

Same here...DTG, OfficeSuite, Polaris Office, Quickoffice Pro....none of these seem to support drop down menus. If you happen to find one in the future, please post it. I have also been searching.

Google Docs online has drop downs. It's alright, but it's free and the huge bonus is your worksheets are online.
You probably already know this, but Office doesn't use drop downs anymore. They have replaced them with browser like tabs. So instead of a menu, an entire page appears. Great improvement IMO. I would think others will follow their lead.

Its not an app, but you can run it in your tab browser.

Look at the e-Droid-Cell Pro application from google play store. This Android application does display DDL (drop down lists) in Excel spreadsheets...

I think the app is called cloudon. Its an actual Microsoft office suite but the catch is the its cloud based and can only use it while connected to the net. Also only other downside is that files need to be saved to a cloud service like Google drive, box, or dropbox. Its basically an online server that only run official Microsoft and can be a little hard to navigate now and again but it does the job for really specific operations and its free an only for tablets

Look for eDroidCell Pro in Google Play. This app does support DDL in Excel 2003 format. DDL creation is done with Microsoft Excel and then save the file as 2003 format (.xls instead of .xlsx file extension)... The dev is also giving great support!
