You need to ask the people that developed the games. There's hundreds of games available, and they all store scores etc. in whatever way they want. This question has nothing to do with the Leo other than, I assume, you have one.

The two games are experiment13 and teeter.
any help where these savegame files are would be appreciated

I'll have a play and see if I can find anything for you. No promises though

Okay - 1 down.
The teeter game save is in \Windows\userdata.dat
You can simply use file explorer (or resco explorer, total commander, or similar) to copy the file. Just make sure you close teeter before you either backup or restore the file.
I'll have a look at experiment13 now.

Experiment13 game saves are in a file located at:
\Program Files\Ganondolf\Experiment13\user.sav
If you have it installed on your storage card, it will be at:
\Storage Card\Program Files\Ganondolf\Experiment13\user.sav
Just copy the 2 save files from the 2 games and keep them somewhere safe. You can then copy them back at a later date, if you need to.
Good luck

wow, thanks for your help, I will investigate and report back

Glad to help mate

what I would be grateful of is a savegame file for experiment13, could someone share theirs as I was upto world 8/9 and the save game file must have re-installed a blank one over the older one after I reinstalled the game.

i've just found an older savegame file for experiment13, have used that many thanks

Here is a savegame with all GOLDS, save for one...

Backlight.exe & Power.exe.. Please?

Hi all,
Havn't posted for a while but I am still here! My exec seems to be running pretty fast now, using ozVGA
Anyways, just installed 2 patched *.exe files into windows directory (Backlight.exe.0409.mui.exe and Power.exe.0409.mui.exe) but me being stupid, I forgot to make a back up of the ORIGINAL backlight.exe and power.exe (located in the Windows DIR on the phone)...
So could somebody PLEASE upload me them two files, as I really need to restore them because using ozvga is hurting my eyes at the moment!
Thank you!
Not sure if this is what you want, since they are ROM files.
They originally had Read-Only, Hidden & System attributes set, but don't know if those will survive being compressed with WinZIP.
HTH
Exactly what i needed.. but I have no such luck of getting them onto the exec! i remove the attributes and it still doesn't let me copy!! DOH! any ideas? and thank you for such a quick reply

Sorry, wait a minute... That's better just got my spare (hopefully working) brain cell out of cold storage.
Both files are shown as "ROM" files if I look at their properties in the \Windows\ folder using Resco Explorer, so, errr..... won't they already be there if you delete whatever you've currently replaced them with?
Unfortunately, neither ActiveSync Explore, nor the PDA's File Explorer appear to allow you to overwrite an existing system file on the PDA. Resco's Explorer does allow this, although you get a message saying that the world will probably end if you do. I just tried copying another program into Windows as Backlight.exe. Then deleted my program, and the original was available again. But as mentioned, not posible with File Explorer, nor ActiveSync Explore.
Ok, simply by deleting the two files restored the default versions and fixed my problem.
Thanks for your advice, astage.

**Quick Question for 8525** Thank You!

Hello,
I'm new to the whole TtYn 8525 world. I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I did a thorough SEARCH and couldn't find:
1. where to download pocketnester
2. where/how to install NES games on my 8525
can anyone help me out with a link? i remember reading a thread that had a step by step on installing both PocketNester and Games.. but i can't seem to find it..
thanks xda Folks! i really realllllly appreciate it!
1. you can find freeware applications such as pocketnester very easily on various ppc freeware sites. pdagold.com, freewareppc, etc.
(btw, http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/pocketnester.shtml )
2. regarding NES games, you have to look up game roms. just google the name of the game you want, and add in the word "rom". www.coolrom.com and www.romnation.net are my personal site picks. once you have the rom, just put it on your ppc and run it from there. it's quicker to run if you open up pocketnester on your ppc, then options>preferences>associate .NES files with nester. pocket nester only looks for NES roms in the My Documents folder, but if the files are associated, you can just doubleclick the rom wherever it is to run it.
since i like to store things on my memory card and save space on internal memory, i recommend making a folder in your storage card for pocketnester, then placing all pocketnester app and roms in that folder. then, create a shortcut to that folder in your start menu.
thank you so much azimuth, i will do this once i get my micro sd card!!
thanks again!!

How to use and install things on your HTC Diamond.

Hi.
Can anyone of u plz tell me how to use open gl and how to install thongs like Diamond cubes themes and more. Plz teach me how to do this cuz i cant get this things to work. I wana use me htc for something funny not just use it like a phone.
plz help me if u can.
I am not an experienced person, but I try to answer you.
you need a file called CAB. Download the CAB file for a particular program.
Never unzip it. The CAB file itself acts as a exe file.
1) Sync your diamond to the PC with active sync.
2) copy the cab file to your diamond
3) double click on the cab file.
4) Install either on your ROM or internal memory
Good luck!
Google is your friend.
If your new to Pocket PC devices, check this out.
Regards,
Carty..
Thx guys for great help

Copy them to your \Windows folder with Resco Explorer or Total Commander.
so why use total commander and not just drag the manila into window\, pls. fill me out with more details. Thank you.

Because ActiveSync/File Explorer can't copy files with System attribute and Total Commander can. Apart from that, it is a way better file manager than the system one. And unlike the desktop version, it is free.

[REF][TUT] Improve program launch times - UPX Squeezer BATCH

this is an old trick that was/is used for older devices to fit WinMo 6 on them
but a side effect is faster application load times
i figured i'd try it on the Blackstone and difference is noticeable
HTCAlbum loads in about 1 Second, before it took about 4
so i'm sharing this with anyone who is interested
The batch file is kept as simple as possible for everyone's ease of use
but this is pretty advanced tweaking, so all common warnings apply
and/or
if you are not comfortable with getting files from/to your PocketPC
and/or
can't figure out how to extract this zip and read the "read me.txt"
and/or
don't know what “any key” is DO NOT TRY THIS!
(read the forum and the wiki a bit more, and you'll gain the knowledge)
Version History:
v 1.0 - initial release
v 1.1 - no icon compression switch added to the batch, for more general compatibility
v alt - here geistteufel has released a new branch of the batch file,
this version uses a different method for packing files and may achieve better compression.
At the same time problems have been reported in the past with this method so all usual warnings apply.
a short list of EXEs that i have UPXed and work well for me

Please share your findings so that others can benefit from it
(SEARCH this thread for your application name or EXE filename)
note: you'll have to repeat this proses after upgrading your applications
big thanks to;
edhaas - for the original simple to use batch file More info in this THREAD

and especially XDA-DEVELOPERS as a whole
Wow!
Thank you for sharing this. This also works great for S2U2. I noticed a difference in loading times. Also applied to this to iGO.exe and a few other .exe's
Thanks again for posting this.
Looks like hdtweak.exe and fdotfreds taskmanger have this done already.
Thanks for your explanations, everything worked fine till I had to copy files to Windows directory: access denied. What must I do to be able to copy files to WD?
Thanks and kind regards,
very very good! I try with commManager, yota contact, opera 9, resco explorer 2008 .....there is a time reduction in all! best performance in yota contacts from 5 seconds to 1 second
If this works so well I wonder why Microsoft doesn't implement it?
upx also works for large dll files!

for that you'll need something along the lines of total commander
i wish we could do this with manilia.exe but i tried and failed, it doesnt load, so had to restor it
I'm also having problem removing protection from some of the files :/
I tried to change properties via Resco Explorer, but without succes. As soon as I remove "Read only" attribute and click "Done", the attribute restores itself and I can't overwrite the new files.
I managed to update Yota; GoogleMaps, Nimbuzz and Opera - all load with visible speed improvement.
Tried Total Commander but can't get it to see my phone
It isnt working on the diamond saber. Icontacts and Yota center went well
WAUWW!!! my TomTom is now really fast!!
Thanks for sharing this app.

some files maybe in memory (used by your phone)
a trick to try is
connect with ActiveSync to the phone
browse into windows folder
rename the file you will be replacing (ex. HTCAlbum.exe to HTCAlbum.old.exe)
copy the UPXed version
restart device and test
if everything works delete the ".old." file

best performance boost for Manila/TouchFLO is CFC compression of images (more info here)
Sir.B, can you please share info on how to remove attributes from System files? Tried through Resco File Explorer, but no effect - still can't overwrite old files, always having errors :/
Wow. This is great!
TomTom V7.450 From 6 down to 3 sec to splash screen!
I wonder if it would be possible to do this to all the exe and dll before cooking.
PocketPlayer also works. But most startup time is the drive scanning.
Google Maps also works, but it started up fast anyway. (also the 2 largest dll worked)
gpsVP works, but was already subsecond.
CommManager.exe worked, was a little faster
AdobeReaderLE worked but despite being a huge program, loaded fast to begin with.
PowerPoint worked but also despite being a huge program, loaded fast to begin with.
CorePlayer reports 'Already compressed'
G-Alarm reports '.net not (yet) supported), except for 2 dll's, they worked.

to replace all EXE & DLL files would be quite an undertaking
because it's such a trial and error process (manila.exe and mode9.dll don't like to be UPX-ed, maybe many more)
and benifits are only noticeble for the largest of files
never hurts to talk with your chefs

No matter what software I tried, I just can't get to replace the protected system files.
I tried Resco, I removed the attributes but they're back as soon as I click "Done".
I also tried your described method, but clicking on "rename" in Windows Explorer via ActiveSync - nothing happens. The files seem to be permanently locked

Actually, I have been searching all over forums, but none of the methods described worked for me. Most recommend using Resco or Total Commander, both of which don't work for me. All of the files that have "ROM" attribute simply refuse to be modified in any way.
Thats right. You cannot modify ROM files. You cannot even copy ROM files. You'd have to dump the ROM to PC, which is not trivial. Best to only use this on post-installed programs that are not in ROM.
Interesting: Coreplayer gives me an "already packed by UPX"
Seems they learned this trick before.....

Help Please. Cabs not going into My documents

Hope someone can help.
As usual i am putting new cabs into my documents on the pc and syncing. But when i open file explorer, these new cabs are now showing as windows files that cannot be open as oppossed to cabs as they used to be.
I'm a bit of a noob ,so i'm not sure i have explained this very well but hopefully someone can help.
Thanks in advance.....
sounds like you are extracting the cabs to me, i just have a folder on my sd card i call general crap, and i copy all my cabs in there, go to file explorer sd card then general crap then click on what i want to install
Thanks very much for the swift response. Its very odd that this has started happening all of a sudden. Some cabs ie wallpapers, are going into my documents, but others as i said seem to now be windows files and not cabs, once they are in my documents and cannot be opened, very very frustrating !! I'll try what you said this evening and see if it works, but i cannot understand why it would all of a sudden be extracted when thats never been the case before ?
I'm sure i must have changed something, but i wish i new what
Cheers again for your help. I would be lost without this site, and my HD2 would be no-where near as much fun.
Thanks for the help, but it didn't work. Files still appear as window type files that i cannot open instead of the usual cabs. Wish i new whats changed, but unless anyone has a suggestion, i can feel a dreaded hard reset coming on !!!
Can you not just explore your device with activesync and copy the files manually, rather than using some method of synching? Or, connect as a USB drive and copy the files to your memory card. Either they're not actually cab installers, or the sync process is doing something to them.
Just tried both your suggestions, but with no luck. But thanks anyway for the reply. Wish i new what has changed but something has .

What actually happens then when you click a cab file? Do any old cab files work, or is it now all cab files that won't work?
It says " The file ????? cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file "
You can see before you try to open it that its not right, as i say , it appears to be a window file not a cab, once it goes on my device, though judging by the size of the file it is all there !!!
Wallpaper cabs seem to be working for some reason though.
Using your PC, browse to the folder on your phone and see what the file is called. If it doesn't look like a cab file should, then it probably won't have a .cab extension. (I only say this because the file explorer on the phone does not show file extensions. Your PC may not be set up to do so either though. The alternative is to use Total Commander or Resco to see what the file extension is.)
Can you give me a link to a cab file that doesn't work for you?

Well the link you gave me is a zip file with a cab file in it, so you would need to unzip it first. Cab files are actually a format of compression, so it's likely that a cab file and a zip file would have the same icon on your PC. It's for reasons like that that I always make sure to have file extensions switched on on my PC.
Try unzipping it and copying the contents to your phone and see how you get on with that.
