Disconnect your HD2 from the PC. Try this: (in HD2)
Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC > Disable faster data sync (remove the enable check)
Reconnect and put device in activesync mode. see if it works.
Super!
I was looking for a reason for quite a while and this one worked immediately.
millions thanks! i have the same problem and now it fixed!
I've had similar problems which I have had to soft reset to re-establish connection. This looks like it might solve it for me too.
Thanks MightyMN
Ok, I'm getting really fed up with problems on the HD 2.........
I have had bunch of problems with my device now, this time i tried reinstalling my rom because I had the SMS problem HTC released a hotfix for(which didn't work for me).
Anyway, now I can't use activesync anymore. It just doesn't work on my device.
Can't even reinstal the ROM now
Can anyone help me with this?
Newermind, i don't have the time to wait for answers
I just took a hard reset, now it works
I had some activesync problems too, but the thing came suddenly, i never had problems before:
PC: HP, Vista 64bit
Device: HD2
Suddenly, during some software installations on the HD2 and some cable disconnecting and reconnecting to the PC, activesync was not working anymore..(strange "lock" sound while cable connecting to the PC out of the PC speakers). I had to deactivate this "USB to PC" "fast connection" field in WM6.5 and then it worked again. But I thought that cannot be the solution, because before everything worked fine.
Then i did uninstall and reinstall device center on Vista: no change. Hard reset HD2: no change. After some minutes of thinking I just did a system recovery of Vista, back to a date before the problem has begun.
After the system recovery everthing was fine again, activesync now works in fast connection mode again!
The Problem was caused by the PC/Vista... strange thing! Does anybody know what the problem was, some settings in Vista??
Best regards,
Raphael
I ALSO can't use activesync anymore

For the last 10 days I am also experiencing the same problem with my HD-2 and Windows XP pro. After trying all suggested solutions, the only thing left is to reinstall XP pro ((( - WTF
Solved - By reinstalling XP-Pro and by erasing Kaspersky

Finally I solved the problem and evrything works fine. Including Activesync that works smoothly. All system , PC- Activesync-ND2 , works like a new oilled machine.
The solution:
Reinstalling XP-Pro on my PC and by erasing Kaspersky antivirus software from it. As it looks, probably Kaspersky was the cause .
Instead of KasperskY I use now the ESET NOD32 which reacts fine and
does not disturb activesync.

I have nearly the same problem as yours,
PC: Asus W7 x64
Device: Touch HD
Suddenly my connection was cut-off, then I hard-reset HD, afterwards send an image of ActiveSync normally runs to Asus, night time at my house it was working but in the day time not at the office (I nknow it's very stupid but it is 100% like this)
Now I cancelled Fast Connection, it works but what makes it not-working I dont really know exactly...
May be it is because of Nod32, but I am not quite sure about this, I just suspect.
Looking for a remarkable answer!

Thanks a bunch. I had the same issue and now it works.
Can someone explain exactly why the faster sync prevents the phone from being recognized?
Eset does make active sync difficult. Despite trying all the steps to allow it, I still cannot make it work. So anytime I need to sync, I have to turn off the Eset firewall first. Then it works like it is supposed to.
YOU ARE THE KING!!!!! That litle word (Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC > Disable faster data sync (remove the enable check)
and all is OK
If it still not working...Try to (re)install Active Sync...
microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/apps/65-downloads.aspx?ProductID=76
..It do the trick for me..
Cheers!!
I cant use WDMC (on W7 professional 32-bit)) to sync contacts. WDMC crashes with following error. This used to work perfectly on my XP using ActivSync.
Any suggestions?

that worked a treat! thank you
You need to disable antivirus and firewall to sync.
Cheers.
I just had the SAME problem! I don't know what's causing it, but I see that Windows Update installs another piece of drivers when you take that check off, but still the computer doesn't recognize that the HD2 is connected to the USB, but when I use it as a disk drive it does since I can see it in "computer" with ActiveSync on I can see the HD2 in "computer" now I can't. I don't know what's going on.
EDIT: After installing the "other hardware" for "pocket PC" when having the check off, I put the check back on and it works, confusing! But hey it works.

Hi, I upgraded my QTEC to the ff Test rom
ROM version: 4.00.01 ENG
ROM date : 05/16/03
Radio version: 3.23.01
Protocol version: 32s54
using activesync 3.7 on WinXP
The ppc worked fine, but when I try to sync to my pc, it sometimes connects, but I cannot expore, or sync contacts etc. It just hangs on the progress bar. Tried both on USB on desktop and IR on my laptop, same problem. When I disconnect my ppc, and try to use it, it freezes and I have to reset.
I have tried reinstalling app. Soft and hard reset. Nothing works. Please help.
Version of ActiveSync not compatible with the connected mobile Device
This is the error I receive no matter what I have read to do or not do to my Desktop PC.
These are the setting in the Device:
New I-Mate Jasjar with
ROM Version: 1.12.38 WWE
ROM Date 8/24/05
Radio Version: 1.03.00
Protocol Version: 42.36.P8
ExtRom Version: 1.12.120 WWE
I realize that there is a new Rom Update but I can't sync with my Desktop to get the file? 62 MB by the way.
These are the actions I took to try and rid this error message.
Cleared Temp folder (%temp%) in all user accounts.
In the registry deleted HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services key
Deleted HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services
Uninstalled Microsoft Activesync from Add/Remove Programs
Deleted Activesync folder from Programs Files
Restarted the computer
Installed Microsoft Activesync 4.0 many times and 4.1.0 Build 4807 many times all the while deleting the other before the new install.
This is what happens after a new install.
The device is seen by my Computer running Windows XP SP2 and loads the device- At this point everything looks good.
ActiveSync start and actually connects to the device but only as a GUEST not as the device name that I imputed in the JASJAR.
NEXT the Error occurs “This Version of Microsoft ActiveSync is not compatible with the connected mobile device. Please upgrade to the latest Version of Microsoft ActiveSync and reconnect."
If I click on the OK button underneath the error. The device connects but I cannot explore the contents or sync to the device whatsoever.
Could anyone aid in getting this problem resolved. I have spent over 10 hours trying to figure this out looking at all other forums but no one seams to have a resolution.
This Link seam to have had the issue happen with eairlier version of ActiveSync but I have followed each step but still no resolution.
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/act.../syncerrors.htm
Update to Above
I just went out and purchased a new computer and installed Activesync 4.1 and outlook 2003 Xp on the XP Pro machine. When I went to connect the USB cable it found a new Pocket PC device but didn't list that it found the JASJAR. Then activesync started and it happened again.
This Version of Microsoft ActiveSync is not compatible with the connected mobile device. Please upgrade to the latest Version of Microsoft ActiveSync and reconnect."
When I click on OK I get connected as a Guest account only but can't see any items on the Pocket PC.
I had the same problem...
It's a compatibility issue with Antivirus.
Uninstalled the antivirus and the device got recognized
I've setup ActiveSync as dictated many times in the posts here and it doesn't complain one bit when syncing.
However, after a sync takes place (claiming success) there is no email in my message view for outlook mail.
Details: I'll even watch the sync take place stating 0/54 to 16/54 to 54/54, then a success message. Yet to no avail.
I've turned on Verbose logging, with no tell-tale messages shown.
Device Info:
ROM version: 1.8.10.2 WWE
ROM date: 12/10/05
Radio version 01.09.10
Protocol version: 4.0.13.20
ExtROM version: 1.8.10.104
Things doublechecked:
Exchange 2k3 - check
OWA login - check
GPRS connection - check
GPRS Inet access - check
Anyone seen this before?
Feel free to lambast me with what I've not done.
Thanks,
Dear All,
I need help to connect and sync my HTC Maple with my Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit Notebook.
I have tried to connect the Maple to three different USB ports with two different cables.
The result is allways the same: Windows 7 does not install the Maple because it misses the driver. It tries to find one online, but there is none available. Checking the "Devices and Printers" tab in Windows 7 Control panel shows that the Maple, when connected to the notebook, is listed under the "Unspecified" devices as a "SmartPhone USB Sync" with a yellow error triangle. Right clicking on it displays "properties". Clicking on properties shows that the device status is the following: "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)".
I have asked HTC support but they were not helpful.
I have checked Microsoft tech support database without success.
I have also tried to connect the Maple by unchecking "Enable faster data Synchronisation option". But it did not work either.
I hope somebody can help me solve this problem. Thank you
Following are the data of my Maple:
Model No. HTC Snap S521
Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard
CE OS 5.2.21854 (Build 21854.5.0.80)
Rom version: 2.03.405.2 (65854)
Rom date: 09/23/2009

Have you try to reinstall WMDC?. Also. you might need to check your antivirus options and try to sync by disabling your AV-
I've seen many issues with W7 in the site you should search and see other solutions. Good Luck.
Hi, Clown
thanks for reply. There is no WMDC with Windows 7. WMDC only exists for Vista so far I know and I did not find any WMDC application to download for 7.
I already disabled firewall and antivirus but it does not help.
Any other suggestion ?
Yes their is........
I have bricked my a500.
I had to go through Ubuntu as per

and

This lifesaving tool got me my SBK as the Vache site and many others are all down.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810618
I had followed some instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1585907 and tried to use the Acer ICONIA TAB Software Update Utility (dotnetdetector.exe runs it in the instructions on that page) to recover the tablet, but sadly that software cuts out and tells me it is sorry that the upgrade process failed.
I have A500APXflash, but I am having a b*tch of a time finding .a500apx files for it for TWRP preferably (2.6 or at least 2.5 something). Once again, every since site that says they have a suitable file seems to be offline... it's very frustrating...
My Tablet is stuck in APX mode.
Anybody have a good working .a500apx recovery image?
Barring that, anybody have a good working bootloader.bin and kernel.img for the "choose files myself" option?
Also since people are having difficulty keeping sites up and running, I suggest uploading the files to places that are reliable (mega.co.nz seems reliable). I would gladly contribute space on my stable but otherwise pathetic website to something as worthwhile as a list/links to tools and recovery images.

k it sorta depends on how you bricked in the first place....
Do u really, really need to use TWRP??? when you're bricked it seems cwm 1.7.3 works best...you can update to a twrp via flashable zip once you're up and running again....
To get out of apx mode...try this
power down and put yr tab in apx mode manually, this sometimes helps
otherwise its a matter of running the tools UNTIL it finally works.
Most all of the tools require your tab to be in apx mode before flashing the bootloader....you can try using the manual method too...links are in first 3 posts of the root guide in my sig.
also check device manager on yr pc when connected to your tab...is the apx driver showing there??? If its not then uninstall the drivers and reinstall and try again

Hm... yes the Bundle market... slipped past me. I did not notice the darn thing.
A few questions.
Is Thor the same as CWM? I see thor recovery also has version 1.7.3
I don't see CWM listed anywhere there.
I get an error when trying to select any package at all. (The first time I tried I had gotten a different message and the APX utility crashed, subsequently it provides this error. I have cleared my cache but to no avail.)
---------------------------
XML Parse Error
---------------------------
Oh dear! Something strange happened when downloading. The exact error was:
Could not find file 'C:\Users\thenderson\AppData\Local\Temp\A500APXFlashTool\tempbundle.a500apx'.

Which links do you have to these a500apx files??
All I really wanted was a nice rooted stock copy of ICS or preferably Jellybean. Something I could tweak on a basic level just to stop apps from running their services and have a nice consistent framerate.
My Tablet was originally running Honeycomb.
Edit:
Actually it crashed the first time while dumping the BCT during the "staging and backing up BCT" stage.
I downloaded a copy of V8-Thor_1.7.3_recovery.a500apx uploaded by Civato to Dev Host and it seems to do the same thing... Here is the error.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Edit2:
I went Screw it and used the default.
Now it loads to Skrillax_CZ's bootloader V8... uh, not sure what to do from here. I'm such an android noob this way.
What do you recommend for update.zip and for the stable OS build? As I mentioned, I would like ICS but would even moreso prefer Jellybean.
