I have just spoken with T-mobile loyalty team, I was chasing up where my Leo is. The lady stated there had been some issues with the previous batch of handsets and that further testing was being done before releasing any more devices.
1 Am I being told the truth?
2 How long does this testing take?
3 If problems are found how quickly will T-mobile be able to flash a fixed ROM to all their stock?
4 Will I get my Leo before Christmas?
I would really like to believe that T-mobile are being honest and that very soon I will have my Leo hopefully with all the issues identified on this forum fully resolved.
Am I being naive?
Ordered mine online on Sunday the 29th Nov and recieved it on Thursday 3rd Dec.
I do have a mate that works in T-Mobile and said that as soon as the stock is coming in they are going out just as fast and having worked for a mobile phone company in the past the staff do get told a load of rubbish at times.
I phoned up t-mobile UK today to order one, to be told they were out of stock. A new batch is expected Friday.
I've spoken to o2 at least 8 times today and in one of the calls I was told that part of their problem was having to send all the stock they had, along with returned faulty devices, back to HTC for "repair"...what's that funny smell? is it lamb,fish,bear...no its bull!

This would cost HTC a fortune. I wonder if the repairs are to flash a new ROM ?1.48+ or actual hardware repairs eg. new camera module. Are existing users going to have their handsets recalled? If a handset is "repaired" will it be classed as new or refurbed?
Nah, I smell something too.
It is probably just another example of getting a different response from which ever droid/lovely customers service rep. you speak to. Best just to keep ringing up until you get the answers you want and then believe that person.

i got one online from tmobile bout a week ago and mines running 1.43 and i`v had no major issues with it at all. i`v had to soft reset once due to phone hanging, but believe me its had a good seeing to, i havent put the thing down!!. as for the camera, mines not too bad. got the slight pinkiness problem but nothing that cant be sorted with a few tweaks in the camera settings i`v read about. i think htc mis-judged the demand for them plus some dodgey batches thrown in the mix. good luck on getting one anyway jus keep pestering them!
Just got off the phone with Hayley at T-mobile.
They are expecting 2000 HD2s today and tomorrow. I have been told there are less than 2000 people on their waiting list for HD2 so fingers crossed, touch wood and rub the lucky rabbits foot and I will have my phone within the next 2 days.
Ive been waiting for 2 weeks for my upgrade phone. Every time same story, more expected Friday. And when "I" asked about rumours that there had been some probs with the phones, the lady went off to check with her manager and came back and said, nope, they had only heard wonderful comments about the phone.
Still i'd rather wait for htc to fix any issues if they are doing that right now.

That's interesting. I just got off the phone with Francis at Tmobile. She couldn't tell me anything, except that they'd had a consignment today. No numbers on stock or on how many are waiting for it. Nor how far down the list I was. She did agree that for some reason Tmobile had underestimated the demand for this phone.
I think it might have something to do with the iphone judging by what went on at Voda.
And I've been on the waiting list for 3 weeks and it should have been 4 but they cocked it up. I better get it before Christmas!

I am well and truly p*ssed off. (I hope I wont be edited by a Mod like I have been on the T-mob support forums)
Today I got to speak to Dennis who laughed at the mention of 2000 handsets arriving today. I was lied to yesterday.
No idea when more stock arriving.
No idea when I might receive mine.
No idea about customer service.
No customers if they keep this up.
200 handsets arrived today and after waiting for a month with Vodafone's mis-information, I switched to T-Mobile and bagged one of those 200. It seems the only way to get an HD2 is to show no loyalty and swiwtch providers
I guess I got lucky as I got through to a really helpful saleswoman.
Just buy an unlocked one and get it right away. I did and I'm in the US. Of course I had to have it and paid $875. But it was worth every penny. I use A&tt now but thinking of going to T mobile. BUt since its unlocked i can use it forever anywhere.

Have been severely mucked about by vodafone and no one else has the phone.

On monday they told me wednesday
on Tuesday morning they said Friday
on Tuesday afternoon they said "oh sorry mid december"

yes got to the HTC uk site and the "Buy" have a look at shops people selling them..
there's several there that have them in stock/
Play.com have them in stock on free delivery at £499 (or did at time of writing)
I got mine from cleverkit.com next day delivery for £5
If you'd prefer a bricks-and-mortar store and you're in London then you could try Inkino.
I'm guessing both these options are sim free .... ?
GG
I got mine from Clever Kit.com. SIM free and I ordered mine on day of release after 3pm and it was delivered next day! Amazing service!! http://www.cleverkit.com/products/htc-hd2-sim-free-unlocked.html

Exactly the same situation here. Placed order on Sunday, they failed to call me back on the Monday when 1000 units came into them, so I never got one of those, so i was advised to place my order online as more expected Friday and I did, now got an email saying early December. Called Voda who were very apologetic and if I can wait till the 12th then they will compensate me as I should have had my phone by now.

This phone has been a lot more popular than Vodafone thought it would be.
Apparently people stayed away from the HTC Magic when it came out because they hadn't heard of HTC.
Don't think we can blame them for everything. I hope you get one soon mate! Vodafone are usually pretty good with fixing problems. Especially when they create them!
Same problem with voda here, on top of that I enquired as what would happen with my number transfer (my pac expires 12 December) in case they can't deliver a phone by then, they told me they had no record of my pac/number to be transfered... ooops must have fallen into a black hole then lol.
Not bothered about waiting but very annoyed about not being informed about delays before ordering and the fact that they did the credit check straight away...
Sent a lovely email to the UK CEO (yes, I can be polite and explain things clearly when I want to lol). I've just got a reply from him (about 1 hour after I sent it) apologising for letting me down and saying he'll get someone from his office to call me to "see how we straighten this out"
Fast reply! That's damn good.
Hope you get them soon guys. I hope Vodafone fix it for you.
I admit I was impressed. I thought it'd take a few days to get a reply and that I'd just get a standard apology penned by the PR people. No idea how long till I get the call though but will keep you informed.
Some Vodaphone stores had stock in, looked at one in Taunton and Weston super Mare had stock. Would only do 24 month contract though so decided to wait.

Will do though I can't really see how they'd get me a phone if they can't get stock from HTC before December. Still, I'm hoping that at the very least my account will get a note along the lines of "do not mess up, the stupid cow will complain to the ceo" .
HD 2
I Phoned tmobile yesterday and was told the hd2 is in stock but only on a 18 month contract. Vodafone tell me they have sold all there stock over the weekend and will not be getting more until the 27th of nov. Vodafone are not listing 12 month contracts but if you phone them and ask they will offer one. I Just cant wait until the 27th.

Me and many others with outstanding orders got this email from Vodafone:
"We have received unprecedented demand for the HTC HD2, and due to shortages from the manufacturer – we are experiencing slight delays in receiving your handset. We are doing everything we can to obtain further stock and will be the first to receive the next deliveries. Currently we expect these to arrive early in December."
That's a funny definition of slight delays Not sure where the 27th November date they've given you is coming from.

I couldn't get them to offer anything shorter than 18 months, so if 12 months is what you're after you may just want to order before they change their mind again
12 month contracts are very rare in premium mobiles these days. Given the lowest possible monthly amount is around £35 and premium phones are around £500 or so, the companies only get £420 out of you.
However, on an 18 month contract at minimum of £35 they get around £630 from you. At least this pays for phone.
As for stock, I would have hoped they could have had more in before the start of December. Must be because the phone has probably been more popular than HTC imagined it would be.
Just been speaking to Vodafone to check my order status, as they were supposed to call when more stock was due yesterday. Been told by one of the managers that they were told late yesterday that they now have no future stock dates, as HTC were seeking to fix 'hardware issues' with the phone. She used the word recall when referring to existing Vodafone phones, and then mentioned the camera explicitly.
So for those of us with unfulfilled orders the wait continues.
And for those whose phones see the world with a pink hue, a hint of things to come? Anyone else spoken to Voda in the last 24 hrs?
I thought the pink hue was a software issue, or at last that is what HTC were reported to have said a few days back and they said they would be releasing a fix. If it is a hardware issue I wonder if the same recall is going to apply to HD2s from other networks, like O2 for example? And if those already sold are going to be swapped?
I'm not too fussed anyway as the hue on mine is barely noticeable, but I have seen photos from some where it's frankly terrible. Despite the quality of a camera on a phone being fairly low on my list of important features, if I owned one of those I would be interested in a swap.
I assume the Vodafone dont know what is really happening, I dont think HTC would lie about this huge issue.
After a week of tests on my handset that I sent to HTC repairs. HTC are returning it back to me without them doing anything apart from installing logging software that identifies the sms issue.
It has been explained to me several times that it [camera] is a software issue that can only be fixed with a patch that will be released as soon as they can, they are working on it.
I had a call from Voda yesterday (since I emailed a complaint to the UK CEO, I get regular update calls lol) to say that the stock they were expecting hadn't turned up and that the next delivery *should* be 2nd December
Edit: got another call this afternoon from the nice girl who is keeping an eye on my order to inform me that they may get some earlier than the 2nd, she's going to call me back on Monday.
I have a HD2 from Vodafone and mine is ok ok no problems with the camera. Got it last week
Only yesterday, I was told 11th December by a Vodafone rep, middle of next week by a T-Mobile rep, and possibly monday by an O2 rep.
All of these companies were meant to give me a call as soon as the hansets came in. It turns out I've missed 1 delivery by T-Mobile, 2 by O2, and 3 by Vodafone even though I ordered with them some 3 weeks ago!!!
I also thought the camera was an issue that HTC are working on. If there was to be a recall t would be for all phones, as Vodafone ones aren't branded.
Damn this is turning out to be a hard phone to get.
I had put an order i with Voda Business and voda general public. The latter said it would be with me by Sat, i called on the Friday to confirm and was told that a small batch came in but wasn't available to their department therefore wasn't available for me and they projected the next batch would be in around the 11th of Dec.
I then called back to make my feelings heard and was told that one would be with me by Monday and was already in transit. This it turns out was the phone i ordered through the business department which must have priority over regular customers.
I haven't heard anything regarding recalls etc but haven't spoken to them since Friday, so i'm really hoping it will be here on Monday. If not i won't be happy!!!!
Just to confirm the 11 december date. Vodafone UK informed me on 27/11 (which I had been previously told was the date the HD2 shipment where due into their warehouse) that this will not now be until 11/12.
However if there are hardware issues this may well drift into 2010.
I'd hazard a guess the delay is due to some of the bugs noted in this forum seen on the first shipped ROM.
As many people have said here - the average mobile consumer expects their device to just 'work' when it comes to the basics (calls, sms etc). Vodafone aren't doing their own ROM but instead taking what HTC have provided; this means bugs and all. Trouble is while the average WM user who has paid £500 from Expansys etc would come here to look to fix such bugs, the average Vodafone user would be on the phone / back to the Vodafone shop complaining that their phone is "rubbish, doesn't work, can't use it, refund please". I'd therefore guess this is why they are delaying accepting HTC shipments - until their own QA people are happy.
For the record - while I understand this view - I personally would MUCH prefer them to just send me a phone and I'll update it to later firmware when available. But that's just my personal preference! Guess such things are the price you pay when a high end tech gadget like the HD2 attempts to make it into the mainstream consumer market - you're never going to please everyone. On the one hand HTC should have probably done a bit better with their QA, on the other hand no doubt they were under pressure to release. Whichever way they could have jumped their would have been complainers!! I mean, the people on here complaining about basic bugs - would they have been happier if the phone was delayed until say March next year?! Maybe some would've been, but probably not most.
IMO HTC have to keep people on-board by providing updated ROMS / Hotfixes quickly - weeks not months.
Just my opinion..
How long do these hotfixes take to come? I mean, shouldn't some HTC programming team be able to fix all this in ONE DAY?? (*providing it is software problems of course).
I am stuck here with a faulty handset that O2 can't replace because they have no stock. I'm just wondering whether to ditch it and go with another manufacturer. Even if it was working perfectly (which I somehow doubt will happen) it's still a total nightmare typing on the virtual keyboard. I have to correct virtually every word I type and for a previously hardcore texter, I have actually come to loathe texting. It has become a chore!

Sounds like the HD2 isn't for you re. txt'ing. I felt similar around 2 yrs ago (in that I hated touch screen phones for txt'ing) but have since come round. Each to their own.
Re. the hotfixes etc, sadly turning them around in a single day just isn't realistic. Maybe on a home-brew app, but it is with these sorts of timelines which lead to the mistakes in the first place. I'd say you'd be looking at a turnaround time of 2 weeks MINIMUM from bug identification to public release, most probably longer. While it certainly isn't ideal I'd be happy if they turned things round in <1 month.
I know, I know, not ideal the bugs are there in the first place, but such is life!
hmm... I can undestand what youre saying and I can agree in some of it. But if it is a hardware error with the camera, is dosen´t fit under the decription "bug" in my opinion
As to whriting on the HD2 I totally disagree, it´s so nice and i whrite very fast on it

Hi Madindehead - is there a way of checking my vodafone internet usage? Cant seem to find it online on my account page?! I know there is a fair usage policy of 500MB but when I checked my phone this morning the notification tab stated I had been connected to the HSDPA network for 6 hours?! am I right in thinking this is just the connection being kept alive?
Also is there any software out there that can monitor my 3G connection?
I wouldn't worry too much about the FUP to be honest, I don't know anyone who got told off for going over. Plus I think that if everybody tries to stay below it they'll never change it, on the other hand if the majority of people goes over it they might "officially" raise it.
Got mine this morning, woot. Would have had it yesterday but Royal Mail suck...

I got mine from Vodafone yesterday, not branded in anyway at all.
My mate got his too from Vodafone on Monday.
Problems I have so far
1. Can't send SMS messages at all!
2. Bluetooth wont switch on
No issue with the camera so far, battery life not too bad.
Can't get any twitter or facebook updates to notify me when screen locked, but then I havent read the manual!!

It's a canned response. I called Verizon about it - I ordered my phone on the 9th and it never came. lol
If you were to order it today you should see it shipped out by 6/4 according to the detailed specs of the phone. 6/1 if you just look at the Verizon line-up of phones.
It's all confusing. Verizon really should do a better job when launching a new phone!

I learned this the looooooong and hard way. I've spent literally hours on the phone with them and was supposed to receive 3 seperate calls from supervisors bc of how many times they screwed up yet they only called back once. They also told me it was $269 w/ a 1 yr contract, then processed the order and then texted me saying it was $369 w/ a Mail in Rebate. When I called back saying that's not what I was originally told- they told me in a condescending voice 'I can cancel the order if you would like and try to come to a resolve on your issue, but it will extend the wait time of shipping your phone'. What choice do I have but to suck it up bc I NEED this phone for work?? hahaha I just have to laugh at how much it sucks at this point
lol sucks, until i get a tracking number i'm not going to worry about it...

I've got an order pending with them and I've been waiting a while, but there is a shortage of unlocked handsets with the usual online retailers. If you're wanting the phone quickly I'd say go elsewhere, as I've been waiting a fortnight so far. That said, they have the best deals around, especially when taking Quidco into account. I'm holding out for a free phone @£26.50 p/m for 18months (Cashback Inc.)

Yeah same reason I went with them... TopCashback in my case and with a £35 cheque back after 30 days I will be paying the equivalent of just over £28 for 18 mths.... as you say the best deals around by at least by a few pounds each month.
I'm not in a rush as such.... just eager to get back onto Android.... my rooted HD2 died on me so I've sent it back for repair... in the meantime I am using a woeful LG Renior KC910 (good camera, crap phone!).
I am still waiting... apparently any day now, but they can't be anymore specific. They do have the SGS2 on the Three network but I specifically need T-mobile..... hopefully Monday!

apparantly they now have it in stock on 3, but T-Mobile they're pretty sure will be able to deliver next week (w/c 7th June) but we'll see.
Well I suppose they are at least being consistent... I will do a search of MSE... The AM deal is the best I can get though so I am not keen to cancel just yet.
One good thing is that I have received my old HTC HD2 back from the T-Mobile repair sent so I will have that rooted and running Android in no time... that will keep me going until I get the SGS2
Let us know when you have it in your hands.
I am still waiting for mine, fingers crossed for soon - the HD2 that i am using is on its last legs - the USB port is broken and I restored a factory ROM to send it back to be fixed (which they would only do for £250). now I cant install HSPL because the USB doesnt work! even worse I had to buy extra batteries and an external charger. Longing so much to get my Galaxy SII in my hands!
Luckily my HD2 was repaired FOC via T-Mobile themselves... I made the mistake of going to HTC direct with my partners Desire and they wanted £200 citing moisture as the problem with one of the buttons.
HTC are solidly made for sure but this doesn't make them anymore reliable... hopefully the Sammy will be better.
Still waiting... and still Affordable Mobiles have no idea when they will have the handsets in stock.
Apparently they are now "In transit" (to Affordable Mobiles)
I will. be receiving mine on the 13th June now... would have been today if it wasn't for the weekend.
Looks like Affordable have reasonable stocks again as they are advertising them again and are by far the cheapest.
I have oderded my HTC One Silver from T-Mebile UK nearly 10 days ago but I haven't received it yet.
Today customer service told me this phone is out of stock because of software issue.
Shall I be concerned about these "SOFTWARE ISSUES"?
Did any one get their HTC Once from T-Mobile? How long did it take you to receive the phone?
Got mine 7 days 'late' but as two of those days were bank holidays and two were weekend days I can't complain.
Had mine for about 3 weeks I think, had it pre-ordered via upgrade since first week in March and got it before the Easter break
Weird! I ordered mine 7 days ago (Thursday) and they blatently lied and told me I would get it the next day. Upon not receiving anything I rang them and they admitted that they had no stock and I shouldn't have been told this however, I left the order in place.
Yesterday, whilst bored, I opened up an online chat on the T-Mobile site and an assistant who appeared to have little grasp of anything assured me that they had stock so I imediately rang them.
I was then told that I would have my device sent by the end of the week (tomorrow). I assumed that this was another lie as nobody else appears to have any stock and this morning I received the stock text saying that they hadn't forgotten me and that they would let me know straight away about any stock updates
About an hour later I received another text saying that I would receive the device tomorrow together with a ukmail.com tracking number
Make of that what you will. We'll see tomorrow and I'll keep you posted.

Thanks, I hope I get mine soon.
Can you please also tell me if there is any gap between the the alimunium body and the plastic bit either at top or bottom? I have seen few pictures where people had this problem with their phones?
Also what kind of T-Mobile bloatware is on the phone?

I would say very tiny gap at the top between aluminium and plastic. I have double dip hard case on though so never notice it.
No bloatware I can think of, most annoying thing for me is Blinkfeed that I cannot get rid of!

To get rid of Blinkfeed Ithink there are 2 options:
Install another launcher and make it is default (thanks godofwar424)
If you want to keep HTC's launcher/Sence5, Root your phone and un-install blinkfeed using tools like root-uninstaller or Titanium Backup etc
I have read some reviews on Amazon UK complaining about damage caused by the double dip hard case.

..........have noticed that some very small marks about the size a pin tip(not head)on the top and bottom of the phone, it appears that microscopic bits of grit have got in under the case and where the case has some imperceptible movement this has damages the anodised coating of the phone behind the top grey and reds parts of the cover. Do not buy this product if you want to keep you phone in mint condition

Since you are using the same case, Can you confirm if it is true for you too?

Microscopic. Nothing to fret about. Otherwise, perfect.

T-mobile? There's t-mobile services app where you can pay bills and check your horoscope (ffs)
There is also a load of other bloat from facebook, twitter, google etc, so if you want your phone
to be secure and spyware free you will eventually have to root and make your own ROM built from
secure apps and those which require no special permissions and lock down/encrypt everything else.
The handset is a class apart from the competition though.

I also read these (after purchasing!) but I can't see any damage on my phone. I remove my case every night as I put the phone into a dock (currently using car dock in the house until a suitable desktop dock is found that I like)

Thanks for your replies.
Still waiting and no news from T-Mobile UK.
If they are waiting for new stock, Does it mean that it will be a new batch?
I will be happy to get something from a second batch...:silly::laugh:

Same situation here, just had a recent text saying they havent forgotten about me lol.
I did Tweet tmobile support and they said no date yet.
Fingers crossed for this week.
Got mine on Friday. Think it's down to all the hassle I gave them on a regular basis due to the delivery date lies that they gave me that they dug one up from somewhere. I have no T-Mobile bloatware on it at all but the cid is ORANG01 and it is running 1.28.61.7 which I guess is orange firmware but haven't clarified that yet.
After 3 days of use, there doesn't seem to be any issues with the device (In fact it's brilliant :laugh

Good to hear that you have received your handset.
I spoke to T-Mobile customer support today and I have been told that the waiting time is 15 working days which means I can't have it till next week.
They guy also told me that I can go to a T-Mobile store and pickup a handset if I wanted to (and if I could find one)...
But, I will wait for T-Mobile to send my handset in post, hoping that it will be from the new stock.

Any tmob shop that I have called have said that they have no stock and it is pre-order only
I spoke to T-Mobile Online support team member and he told they have HTC Once (Silver) in stock
Matthew: Hi there, my name is Matthew. I am part of the dedicated T-mobile Online Sales Team. How can I help you with your T-Mobile order?
Khurram Majeed: Hi Mathew, I need some information regarding your stock of HTC One
Matthew: Hi Khurram
Matthew: We do have it in stock
Khurram Majeed: Silver?
Matthew: Yes
Khurram Majeed: Okay, then can you please check my account as I am waiting for HTC One (Silver) for my upgrade.
Khurram Majeed: I have no information when I will be receiving my handset and trhe new SIM
Matthew: I would have been the happiest person if I was able to help you for this, but to be honest I belong to a Sales Department only for new customers and we don't have access to your information
Matthew: You can easily track your order by calling customer service on 0845 412 5000, and quoting your reference number. They will be able to tell you the status of the order.
Khurram Majeed: Okay
Matthew: Thank you for chatting with us. Have a nice day!
Khurram Majeed: Thank you
Matthew: *Take Care Khurram

If it does arrive it probably won't have a microphone in it
