Wi-Fi router problem with APN - HD2 General

Hi,
I have following problem with wi-fi router: it automatically detects APN configuration from my operator (O2) and sets the wap APN. I need to change the APN from wap to internet but I didn't find any way how to manually change it. I have disabled wap APN on my phone as I have unlimited data plan but this requires connection only via internet APN not wap. Any idea how to manually change it? maybe some registry tweak?

Go into the "Connections" menu. Add a new connection.
Name: Orange GPRS
Modem: Cellular (GPRS)
Access Point: orangeinternet
User Name: Orange
Password: Multimedia
Back to the home screen, tap on the antenna icon, connect to Orange GPRS.
Note: to be able to connect, you must have Orange enable GPRS access on your account. If you want the MMS Settings, I have that too.
hi i am looking for the mms settings for orange. but on my grps settings i leave the account name and password field blank.--and it works fine. But please post your mms settings here so i may try them out

Easy way to switch proxy servers

I have an 8125 and access the internet in 3 different ways:
1: work uses a proxy for their secure wi-fi network
2: Cingular uses proxy for gprs
3: Home wi-fi network doesn't have a proxy
Can someone tell me how I can easily switch between these networks without having to change the connections settings? Is there a program that can be downloaded to help with the changes?
Thanks!
I also have a 8125. I have the proxy network settings under the "Work Network" settings, and the non-proxy under the "My ISP" settings. When I want to use WiFi or non-proxy, the 8125 will just automatically connect OK. When I need to use the proxy, I start IE and go to wsp://device.home and that forces it to connect to the Work Network.

proxy setting for wireless

I have a problem of setting up http proxy server for my wireless connection.
What I have done is:
1. in settings -> connections
automatically connecting to internet by using: My ISP
automatically connecting to private network by using: My Work Network.
2. In My Work Network -> proxy settings
ticks, this network connects to internet
ticks, this network use a proxy server to connect to internet.
advanced:
HTTP: proxy.proxy.proxy: 8080
3. Set my wireless connection connect to Work network.
However, after the wireless was enabled, my proxy setting alway vanished away, like I haven't setup any proxy setting at all.
If I want to try to re-set my proxy server again in My Work Network. It will vanished away when I back to setting panel.
But if I disable the wireless connection, then my proxy setting can stay there. If my wireless turned on again, my proxy setting would gone immdiately.
Do you know what's wrong?

Click to collapse
Go to MediaNet, tap proxy settings. check the top box; uncheck the lower box, then go back to ISP.

how do tmobile proxy servers work ?

What is the path data takes when connecting using GPRS and proxy server on tmobile network ?
Does it first travel to tmobile GPRS servers and then to proxy or other way around ?
if you are struggling to get a connection over 3G/gprs you just need to disable the proxy settings within the connection settings and the connection will then work.

[Q&A] Getting MMS to work on Lollipop [solved]

A few days ago, I upgraded from KK to Lollipop (CM 12 nightly) and suddenly MMS sending stopped working, I could neither send or receive (on T-Mobile).
I checked and reentered my APNs a few times. The phone would sometimes switch from an LTE connection to no service when sending the MMS. I also saw that some people had been asking about this in a few forums, with no real answer, basically "check your APN".
Eventually I noticed that MMS were being sent properly when on a wifi connection.
Here's how I fixed my MMS: I used to have - as per operator instructions - one APN for "internet" and one APN for "mms". The internet APN had as APN type "default, supl" and the mms APN had "mms".
What was going on was that, while the phone was connecting properly to the internet APN, the connection to the mms APN was just not happening. No idea why.
Solution:
1) I changed the APN type of the internet APN from "default, supl" to "default, supl, mms"
2) copied down the values of the MMSC, MMS proxy and MMS port from the MMS APN
3) deleted the MMS APN
4) entered those three values into the "internet" APN, keeping the rest as it was
5) rebooted
and everything works, as the phone is connecting to the MMS server through the internet APN. Bear in mind again that this is not what the operator's "technical support" told me to do, they were set on having me use two different APNs (and that wouldn't work at all).
Hope it works for other people too
